Yes it was frustrating but I would much rather have a flight of upset passengers then risking our lives. The captains and the crew went out of their way to make sure that we were the most comfortable. They gave us food and drinks as we waited and were extremely patient. Upon arrival many passengers had missed their connecting flights, including myself. They put us on the next flight out and gave all passengers a hotel and meals for the night. I would definitely recommend Air Canada. The plane itself is also pretty spacious so don’t be afraid to fly economy."

I travelled economy class and it was full, but it was obvious that 14 of 28 business class seats were empty. Well no wonder. If I were travelling 13 hours on business and couldn't connect, while on business it would be a time resource wasted. You should rethink your business plan. Cons: "Our connecting flight from Toronto to Thunder Bay was cancelled. AC put us in a hotel for the night. Thanks for the $15 dinner voucher. Almost paid for the salad. Then we had to get up at 530am to get the 6am hotel shuttle in order to get back to airport for our 8am flight. They seem to always cancel the 9pm flight from Thunder Bay to Toronto because not full enough. And the last flight is over sold so we have to stay the night in Toronto. Then don't offer the 9pm flight. Passengers have other commitments in their life's. We don't need AC to just hold us over for the night because one of their flights is have empty."

Pros: "Entertainment options were plentiful -- from TV to movies, podcasts, audio books and games. Boarding was easy and there were plenty of bathrooms aboard. Very, very smooth landing in Vancouver. Easily the best I've ever experienced."

Cons: "The seats were so small and terribly uncomfortable. I looked it up and it seems they are some of the smallest seats in the industry. They packed the dreamliner with more seats than it was meant for, making it really cramped for an international flight. Most people had to sit with their feet in their chair because it was so uncomfortable, and my knees were jammed up into the back of the seat in front if I put them down. And I'm only 5'7" so I can't imagine what it would be like for people 6' and above. The seats are hard, narrow and sloped at an odd angle. The bathroom design is poor - the lids of the toilets will NOT stay up and come crashing down on your back when you sit down (disgusting!!). I tried 4 toilets before I could find one that worked without the loose lid. Also the food was really inferior. It is the worst food I have had on an international flight, and I have flown many trips including Delta, Emirates, British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, etc. There was also a much smaller movie selection than I am used to. Overall it seemed like a budget airline and was one of my least comfortable trips."

Cons: "There were major delays taking off, and landing. I was supposed to have about a 3 hour layover in Toronto, due to multiple delays, flight plan changes, and mechanical failures I ended up getting booted from the 2nd leg of the flight, and having to spend an unanticipated night in Toronto. To begin, my 3pm flight from Seoul to Toronto was delayed to 6pm (the day before the flight was even scheduled, and for no apparent reason.) I wasn't even notified of this change, the only reason I found out was I tried checking in online the afternoon of the day before my flight (only because I remembered to do so myself, never received a check in reminder notice) and found out of the change. So my connecting flight had been bumped, and my ETA to my destination changed. This wasn't terrible, just an annoyance. Second, the flight was stuck at the departure gate for over an our. I'm not 100% sure why, however, after delay after delay, and then a flight plan change, we finally took off over an hour late, this too was was an annoyance, an nothing notable. It wasn't until we landed, where we were delayed on the tarmac for yet over another hour, due to mechanical issues that was the problem. We were stuck for about an hour (the pilot promising we'd be moving in "just 5 minutes", every 10-15 minutes) before the pilot decided to order buses to unload us, to then turn them away once they arrived so that way we could get towed to the gate. It then took an additional 40 minutes for the plane to get hitched, and towed to the gate. Once we arrived at the gate, I tried running through the airport to catch my connecting flight (which I had 10 minutes till boarding, and 40 minutes till departure) only to find out that I had been bumped from my connecting flight (despite having no checked baggage) and would have to stay the night in Toronto. Apparently this is not a rare occurrence for Air Canada to screw up flights. There were other people both on other original fights, as well as mine who were bumped from their connecting flights to various destinations, as well as having lost luggage. Again, individually these weren't exactly huge issues, collectively, they're the reason this has probably been my first and last time flying Air Canada."

Cons: "The space was cramped. My flight from Toronto to Seoul was not good. I was seated right next to the bathroom and the way the seat was positioned, it stuck out next to the bathroom door. So, people were constantly walking into my seat and I could feel the air (and smell) from the bathroom every time someone opened and closed the door. It was very uncomfortable."

Cons: "(1) Left late; arrived later (2) Late arrival and security clearance caused missed connection to Washington, DC (part of the same ticket). Initially, I discussed with Air Canada ways to get to ANY of 3 DC area airports. Nothing was available for more than 19 hours. Instead of continuing to find a flight to arrive in the evening, possibly a full day late, I asked to check on a flight to Philadelphia, from where I would rent a car. (3) The flight to Philadelphia was then delayed. (4) Our bags made our original flight, so I had to file a claim when we got to Philadelphia without any bags arriving. (5) By the time the baggage claim was filed at Philadelphia and I got the rental car, it was 1 a.m. Then I drove 2 more hours to get home at 3 a.m. And today I have the pleasure of dropping off the rental car and picking up my car at the airport in DC. (6) And did I mention that there were supposed to be 2 vegetarian special meals on our flight (for my wife and daughter) and Air Canada's system dropped this request even though they had gotten it correct on the way to Asia?"

Cons: "The snack and breakfast were left to be desired. Upon arrival to destination, we had to wait for one hour and ten minutes for a gate to be available in spite of clear weather. I made my connecting flight just in time. Many other passengers missed their connecting flights. In this situation, it would have been appreciated if there were staff to direct us to help speed up the process, but most passengers with connecting flights were running around like headless chickens and loosing patience as we were left to fend for ourselves. Once again, United managed to drop the ball."

The crew, one girl in particular was so incredibly loud as she walked up and down that it was impossible to sleep. She shouted over me and my husbands head despite seeing us asleep, to speak to the third person in our row. It made our journey much more difficult and our arrival in Manchester start the wrong way. Really disappointing and totally controllable."

They made us wait on the plane for 5 hours trying to reboot the plane and could not let us off during it due to customs which is understandable. However the process of rebooking the flight was a nightmare. I waited in line to rebook for 4 hours. They flew me to Japan, then to Denver and then to Portland without any seat reservations. They didnt want to provide any customer service or upgrades. It took me 48 hours to get back home. The flight attendants were also rude on both legs home. All in all, I would never recommend United for international or domestic flights. They have poor customer service and their planes are always delayed."

The luggage check in is no longer a service a customer is provided if 1) I have to pay to check one in. 2). I have to lug it around with me only to have no place to put it. 3) the amount of time it takes to get off and on the plane because the line backs up while everyone waits on prior passengers to get their luggage into or out of the overhead (some are too short, too weak, ot placed their overhead ten rows away). Yikes!"

I also hit my call button three times to ask for a pen to fill out customs sheet, but no one came after waiting 30 min. I assumed they were busy, so I got up and walked. But nope, they were all just hanging out in their area chatting and drinking. Ive never written a bad review, but in this case I almost even said something on my way out of the plane because it was just that bad!"

I work at Nordstrom so maybe my expectations are a bit high when it comes to customer service, but if I owned united airlines I would be ashamed of the way United employees treat people. I paid an extra 300 than I had to to get to Hartford Connecticut at the time I chose when purchasing the ticket. Every plane was delayed. EVERY FLIGHT by at least an hour. I missed my connections and was rebooked twice. the average joe customer service lines were ridiculous with the separate priority line having first dibs. The first customer service man I met with was helpful and kind. With the exception of that man and one flight attendant on my trip back to Portland, every employee was indifferent, condescending and in some cases, actually mean. I say that seriously! (I can't believe it either). I am not a difficult person to get along with and I never showed upset despite the many mishaps I encountered on this trip. Customer service is so important and could have made up for the obvious poor planning and lack of communication by which united airlines functions. Unfortunately, I would rather fly any other airline if given the choice after this trip. Even spirit (and let me tell you, I've only flown spirit once and there is a good reason for that). So disappointing. I am upset over my experience and again, will avoid this airline at all costs in the future whenever possible."
