No food service on flight despite food service on outbound flight.
Pros: "Direct flight nothing else"
Cons: "Service could have been faster. Do they not give nuts anymore or a full can of soda? Plane has never been cleaned judging from the ventilation grills and the floor, perhaps in another lifetime..."
Cons: "Nothing significant"
Pros: "good leg room and seats staff was courteous"
Cons: "not even peanuts..."
Pros: "The food was ok. Movie selection was decent and the screens are a lot better than on jet airways."
Cons: "Boarding was a little delayed. Service was a little slow, but the crew was courteous and did their best."
Pros: "Breakfast was excellent"
Cons: "TV screen were too dark"
Pros: "Getting off"
Cons: "Sore all over and a lousy cough"
Pros: "On time flight. Friendly crew."
Cons: "No food unless you bought it, minimal service."
Pros: "When I got sick, staff were friendly, helpful and soothing until the arrival of the ambulance. They made me feel much better during a very stressful situation."
Cons: "Flight back was OK but flight to Orlando was not. Travelling with s 94 yr old man in a wheelchair. Everything at Pearson is not conduscent to travel with a handicapped person. Poor layout, poor assistance, non caring people, long distances,, and final straw was air canada started boarding without calling for handicapped first. We had to stop them and then fight our way up the aisle with people all in the way. Terrible, just lousey. 3 and a half hours before flight we arrived and didn't even have a chance to get some lunch before flight. I give Toronto and air Canada the worst possible rating of any airport or airline I've ever dealt with. John O"Hearn"
Pros: "Walking past the Turkish Airlines desk in Dulles and knowing I would NEVER have to interact with these monsters again."
Cons: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."
Pros: "Tv screens and in flight entertainment"
Cons: "I paid 450 Euro for a return 2 hour flight & I didn't get a 20kg allowance. I don't expect a check in bag on a US or European budget airline but this is the national carrier. It's the first time I've paid for a checked bag in all my years flying with different national carriers. I.e. Qantas, Air New Zealand, Singapore to name a few. All in all. Air Canada charging like a national carrier but the baggage allowance policy of a budget airline. Not good enough in my opinion."
Pros: "general state and size and comfort of the plane. Overall AC experience always good. The flight back to montreal, the service was exceptional!"
Cons: "only a dairy plate available, next time I need to specify no dairy entertainment -- too many ads and no previews for the movies so I have to start playing then stop and go through the entire same series of ads for the next one. the system just seems clunky and antiquated in today's tech age."
Pros: "No food given. Flight was delayed on the way there because a crew member called in sick -- making me miss part of my work conference. No entertainment on the way back to NL."
Cons: "Would have preferred Westjet but they do not offer a flight from NL to PEI."
Pros: "I was put on hold for a flight that went 2 hours earlier. Almost no waiting at all and staff was very helpful! This only works if you just have carry-on baggage. Everyone was concerned to get me to the flight on time from Checking-in to boarding! Also they were taking care of my backpack that didn't fit in the storage because it was full already. Thank you! I will definetly choose AirCanada again in the future!"
Pros: "Staff all friendly and helpful, both at desk and in plane. Seats were pretty comfortable with sufficient leg room (I am tall), but if you are a wide person (or next to one) it would have been pretty cramped. Neither of my flights (to Newfoundland) were full so we all had a bit of extra space. Food was adequate but could be improved with fruit instead of dessert."
Pros: "Kept us up to date and gave us a lunch voucher."
Cons: "We had a 4 hr weight in St John's"
Cons: "there were no complimentary snacks"
Pros: "Friendly plane crew though"
Cons: "2 hours late from LGA to Montreal. No weather to speak of. No reason given. Poor communication at gate."
Pros: "Seats were nice to recline and the in flight tv is much nicer than tablets etc. The in flight safety video is good and quick easy"
Cons: "Seriously? No free snacks? It's ridiculous that you want us to purchase snacks. Something small should be complimentary. Staff was in ok moods but a little edgy. The air was too cold."
Cons: "I booked this flight a couple months ago to find no seat assignment which should be booked at Chechen but was not. Then I was given the back seat against the wall which does not recline. There were standby people on the flight who got much better seating than I. I seemed to get the last consideration. I am treated much better on other airlines with much less early booking. also later after take of it was made known to me there were empty seats further up in the cabin. When I email Air Canada they said they would get back to me within 30 days about my concerns."
Pros: "The flight arrived about 30 minutes early. Also, it left a little late. For me, the less time on the plane the better."
Cons: "Guy next to wanted to charge phone a laptop in USB port in front of me b/c his was our of order. This worked out OK but in a small space it's not so good. He was bare foot too. Take of your shoes but wear socks, please....Plane was not hot, actual a litter chilly."
Cons: "4 hour departure delay"
Cons: "We miss the opportunity to order an appetizer on the flight; a fun part of any travel experience."
Cons: "Everything. Plane was ready to leave on time but had a delay of almost an hour due to construction in Toronto. Connecting flight was held in Toronto and despite getting to gate almost an hour before departure, they changed passengers to another flight causing total delay of four hours. Air Canada staff were indifferent and uncaring. Unfortunately with no real choice in airlines to Newfoundland we are stuck with Air Canada."
Cons: "First flight was canceled, they did not get me on a flight till 4 pm the next day! Not to mention the two French Canadians I talked to were extremely rude. Finally the 3rd customer service women tried to get me home sooner but was unable to!! Have flown for years on air Canada without issues but this last trip was such an inconvenience I will not being flying with them agin!! They also did not cover my hotel or the taxi costs associated with me having my flight canceled, not even a discount!!!!!"
Pros: "The cost is to high especially not coming with a meal"
Cons: "Not aconfortable plane"
Cons: "The last leg of our entire trip, and it was late. We left about 1.5 hours late and they had trouble getting the gate to the plane when we landed. A long trip home was made even longer. I was very surprised that there were so many issues with timeliness on AC flights. In our outbound to Athens, two of the three flights left late, and they had to rebook part of our trip to accommodate. And the return trip was more of the same. I expected AC to be world-class and it was more like a regional airline in terms of performance."
Pros: "Quick operation OK for the small aircraft we had but this was a long journey from Venice, Italy to Toronto. Uncomfortable and boring. Was offered water frequently :-) at least didn't have to ask or pay for it."
Cons: "Food was not good at all. Snacks are bad and only sugar-laden cookies. No entertainment available unless you have Air Canada app. How were you supposed to know? It was too late by the time you were on board! Otherwise pay $10 to rent their iPads for it LOL"
Cons: "The horrendously long lines going through security!! I am 77. My husband is 81. Standing in those very long lines was extremely fatiguing. To the point we are rethinking ever flying again. They were bad bookends to an otherwise great trip."
Pros: "Trouble free"
Cons: "Very costly - then we were hit with an extra $172 in baggage fees for 1 bag each."
Pros: "Flying in the air"
Cons: "Promising the mob my first born son to pay for a flight home"
Pros: "Fast boarding and unboarding"
Cons: "I needed to change my flight and Air Canads charged me $300! They said thy had some 'peak days' fee (August) and a 'weekend' fee, which covers Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 3 day weekend??! Come on, what a scam. Just charge me the flat change fee not all these bullshit greedy add-ons."
Cons: "People could be friendlier"
Cons: "Check in process was slow and messy. Check in clerk I felt with was borderline rude. May want to consider a check in kiosk to speed things up. I stood in line for almost 40 minutes waiting to check in before I pulled out my phone and checked in online at that point I was only half way through the line. If the flight hadn't been delayed I might have missed it. Additionally once boarded the cabin door was closed the second the last person entered the plane. An announcement was made that we couldn't leave till everyone was in their seats. But enough time had not been given to the passengers to even get down the aisle before such a snippy comment about needing everybody seated was made."
Pros: "The price of the flight was excellent and the service totally reliable."
Cons: "Small aircraft for a fairly long overnight flight. Made it difficult to rest as the flight was full."
Pros: "Let the announcements be delivered in both language successively."
Pros: "Convenience and ease of flying through Abbotsford. Ground staff was amiable and helpful in Abbotsford."
Cons: "Not enough leg room!! I'm 6'2" tall. I can't simply make my legs shorter. The food choices were limited. Please make the fruit and cheese platter available all day."
Pros: "The plane wasn't too bad; comfortable and plenty of movies to choose from; the only thing headsets and volum didn't work as well."
Cons: "Airport was a complete mess; I would say I will never fly out of Rome. Air canada wasn't too bad here since we didn't run into any issues with rebooking flights"
Cons: "Air Canada lost my luggage, customer service was very vague and unhelpful, did not get my bag back for almost a week."
Pros: "Clean airplane Helpful crew Overall great experience"
Cons: "Kid crying and yelling the whole flight"
Cons: "Not sure if this is an Air Canada or a Toronto Pearson Airport issue, but the gate we flew out of was in a very small area with very limited seating. Long delay and no staff to assist or inform the passengers of the schedule delay. We will never fly Air Canada again."
Cons: "Not assigning a seat and giving me a stress of putting me on stand by for a ticket I had purchased!!!!"
Cons: "very comfortable flight with free movies."
Cons: "I find it very strange that you have to pay extra to ship a bag. Air Canada advertises that all fees are included in their fares. However you are getting hit at the back end after you make your booking. Just about everyone travels with a bag to ship. After having to Leave fort Mcmurray due to loosing our home we had to pay an extra fee to ship three bags. It does not do much for the image of Air Canada be a leader in the industry and be up front all the way."
Pros: "We left and arrived early, the seat was surprisingly comfortable (it helped that there were lots of empty seats, including next to me), my full-size carry-on fit easily in the overhead bin, despite it being a small plane, the in-flight entertainment was always on and pretty good... everything went well."
Cons: "Only the things I've grown to expect on any domestic service (e.g., no food)."
Pros: "Extra leg room but paid for it."
Cons: "Very turbulent. Entertainment system was okay on iPad but selections were poor, lots of old stuff. Really dislike Rouge."
