The worst thing was that in transiting from the SAA flight to the Lufthansa flight we were obliged to go through security which seems unnecessary. The security staff were awful. Bullying, rude and totally unsympathetic to the fact that having brought water from the first plane to the second plane we had to either drink it or throw it away. One guy in particular, a tall greying man evoked the worst stereotypes of brutal secret policemen. Perhaps he formerly worked for Stasi or he was having testosterone problems. Totally unacceptable behaviour."

Cons: "Took first available train , arr. Freising at 9:50. Arrived at Terminal 2 by bus ca. 10:25. I am handicapped and a slow walker, so I got to departure floor ca. `10:40. Waited in line at self-serve check-in; found out that it does not have ability to process numbers (for US address). Attendant was not helpful and nasty. She told me me to go to the regular check-in line, where I waited another 45 minutes. None of the 3 "help" personnel standing around when approached managed to tell me that there was a special counter for handicapped persons. The one at the express self-check-in refused to give me her lasst name or any form of ID (first name Sophia). After waiting an additional 15 minutes for a wheelchair, I was deposited in a waiting area, where a second wheelchair arrived after another long wait. Told me I might not make the plan (I did). Overall a very unpleasant and nasty experience. With the exception of the very nice lady (Mrs. Ilser?? ) who checked in my luggage, none of the other 3 persons at the express and regular check-in spoke decent German or English, and none was helpful (Go there, wait!!!) Barely made the plane in MUC, Heathrow turned out much better than the touted German efficiency. Please forward to Lufthansa customer relations. Dr. W. Hartwig"

Cons: "The gate in Calgary took approximately 45 minutes to allow off the plane . We arrived early but by the time we were able to leave the plane , boarding for our next flight had already begun. We had to go through customs and other planes from the US had similar problems. Therefore many were delayed."

I have nothing against babies (the baby in my row was quiet), don't get me wrong! It's just that this should be pointed out at the time of selecting a seat and it was not clear on the AC website. The crew moved my carry on several rows back without telling me (I put my bag in first into the overhead bin and then had to chase it down when I needed something). Not acceptable!"

The seats were relatively comfortable, in comparison to the way you are packed into some planes these days. Particularly liked the headrests that were adjustable side to side. It helped in this particular case the flight wasn't completely full, and so I had the seat next to me free."

My connector flight (also an Air Canada flight) was delayed so much in Detroit that we got to Toronto with just enough time to board and deal with the bumping issue. Also, my luggage was already on the plane to head to London which noone was worried about if they wouldn't have been able to get me a seat. There was little communication between staff members and nobody seemed bothered by this especially with a late arriving plane that they should have known about and had a way to deal with this issue. The crew on the plan keep bumping into me even though I wasn't in the aisle and never apologized. Totally would give a zero or 1 star (at best if it would let me). Totally will not recommend to anyone and will try to not fly with them again if possible."

Cons: "We did not have dinner as we tried to get some sleep on this 6.5 hour overnight flight to London. The 767 was in a 2-3-2 configuration for economy plus and general economy. Thankfully they kept the temps cool to the point where we used our coats as additional blankets. I appreciated that the FA’s did not wake us for dinner and they closed my window shade at some point. They were 100% polite and helpful. That said, with the new Polaris Business Sears, UAL has eliminated the restrooms between Business and Economy. So it is a very long walk to the restrooms from Econ Plus and it appears that there are only 4 restrooms for about 120 passengers. Absurd. My family made do because we used the restrooms in the middle of the night when most people were sleeping but this would have been a nightmare after breakfast or with a small child. It appears that UAL has gone for profit over customer satisfaction."

Pros: "The service was excellent and the food choices were great. I enjoyed several hours of dimmed lighting, which helped with sleeping and kept my five year old daughter calm. The staff were friendly and helpful."
Cons: "One irritation was that the temperature of the plane was too cold and we have a/c blowing in our faces most of the trip. We couldn't control it from our overhead fans, so we were a bit chilly."

Cons: "board . The door was closed & we waited for 2 economy passengers - took an hour . mY experience - once the door is closed , it does not open until the plane reaches the destination ."
Cons: "Flight was freezing cold and staff were very rude. Worst flight I have ever been on."

Cons: "The staff were rude, abrasive, ignored several passengers that were trying to get her attention before take off as 2 overhead bins were wide open and full to the brim. She of course was too busy playing on her cell phone in the back of the plane and ignored/silenced the passenger call button. They were so loud when people were sleeping, yelling ‘trash please’ every 5 minutes, we are not stupid, we can see what you are doing and if we have trash, we will give it to you - so please STOP disturbing my peace and let me bloody sleep!!!! I was never offered any food or drink during the entire flight, not even when I was awake - other airline attendants are more observant and come back and ask us when we are awake if we would like anything to eat or drink. So essentially that was 7 hours with nothing after having paid a little over $700 for what was seemingly the WORST transatlantic flight I’ve ever taken. I travel back and forth often, because I’m a dual national, but I will stick to BA or Virgin Atlantic - the planes and service are far superior to this pile of turd that goes by the name of United. There were no charging facilities (power outlet or USB port) and the TVs had such horrendous resolution that you would get a headache from having to squint at the screen."
Pros: "Flight, crew and reasonable comfort for economy class."
Cons: "Nothing significant."
Pros: "The flight attendants were cheery and quick with their service. Was very impressed."
Cons: "I was sitting in the row behind the extra leg room seat. When they were fully reclined, I could not open my laptop fully, so I had to work with my laptop screen angled toward me. The seat back entertainment screen was impossible to see when the seat in front of me was reclined as well, and the screen did not adjust/tilt. Worst of all, it was extremely difficult to get out of the seat."
Cons: "I thought it was very misleading that my ticket that was emailed to me said "Austrian Airlines" so I got dropped off at the first terminal. But when I arrived, the attendant told me even though it says Austrian, that really Im flying with United. I had to walk 15 mins all the way to Terminal 7. This was a total let down. why was my actual airline not listed ?"
Pros: "I likedthe ease of ticketing, well-organized boarding procedures and flying on a soon-to-be retired 747."
Cons: "I was most fortunate to have an empty seat next to me, but cramped seating makes it hard to be comfortable for 10.5 hours."
Pros: "Three seats to myself, not crowded."
Pros: "Free food and drinks"
Cons: "Wish there was an option for me or even Lufthansa to resell the ticket I couldn't use. $500 wasted"
Cons: "Was surprised to receive dinner and wished they had not served so we could have more quiet time."
Pros: "It was an efficient flight. My only suggestion is for the flight attendants to receive some training on the finesse of service. They could be abrupt and mechanical rather than service oriented."
Pros: "Flight attendant service was great."
Cons: "I'm tall and the seats are cramped."
Pros: "The crew and captain were amazing dealing with us during a terrible, late night delay. They constantly kept us updated about what was happening and were constantly walking around to ensure all of our needs were met."
Cons: "The plane was absolutely horrible. Two bathrooms and the in-flight entertainment did not work as well as most reading lights. A door sensor wasn't working correctly which cost us another hour of waiting for a technician to come and repair/reset the sensor."
Pros: "I had the worst experience."
Cons: "My flight was cancelled in Munich and I was rerouted to Rome, Italy. In Italy they didn't find my ticket and I was made to wait an extra 4 hours. My carry-on bag was taken in London, as there was not enough room on the fight to Munich, but then when I finally got to Cairo, one day after I was supposed to arrive, both bags were lost and I stayed one week without anything. I missed an entire day of my vacation because of the cancellation and confusion in Rome. I am a Gold Star Alliance member and this was the WORST flight in I have ever taken in my LIFE!"

Pros: "Missing my connection due a security in Newark the plan was 2 h delay"
Pros: "It was nice to get free wine on the flight. Had I know what I was about to endure I likely would have had more. Honestly. I am uncertain how you can stay in business."
Cons: "The temperature in the cabin was way too cold and the excuse of a blanket is really insulting to be warm enough to sleep. The video screen was tiny and grainy. Every time the PA system was used it buzzed so whatever was being said wasn't comprehend-able. The biggest complaint was the seating room. I understand that you want to get people into more legroom seats but honestly there should be a regulation for the inhumane way you treated those of us that did not ante up more! I thought I alone have these opinions but once you get me back home, you loose my business forever. I will take my Transatlantic flights every six weeks elsewhere."
Cons: "HUGE DELAY. MISSED CONNECTION. CONSTANT UNCERTAINTY"
Pros: "Vegetarian meal good taste."
Cons: "Hour delay by "catering", missed connect at LHR. (United's booking too tight also). TV screen needed "reboot", flight announcements piercingly loud. Requested gluten free meal not provided."
Cons: "Paid extra for economy plus and still was too uncomfortable to sleep."
Pros: "not to mention non existent entertainment. TV never worked no.map. no interesting info from pilot unlike last pilot we'd had on this flight who'd given us great information on our flight. no apologies. we were told about 50 tvs were out on the flight. the chicken meal was delicious pasta awful (we shared because of that). the couscous salad which lady flight had been super this time was too spicy for us much less if we'd bought a child. if this is the positive ... we got there safely and the boarding was better than sometimes."
Cons: "see above. united which ran this flight more intent on telling you what you can't do than making it a pleasant flight. no entertainment. 75 per cent of food was inedible. will be looking at Ba in future or Virgin despite being United mileage plus members. how about some customer service training?! as a repressed brit living in us I'm not normally a picky passenger. but a smile? sorry the movies aren't working? hi? just the greeting over the intercom makes you feel as if you are an inconvenience. not friendly skies thus time. put off."

Cons: "UA flights always get delayed and this time I failed to catch my connecting flight to London. I was rescheduled to the flight in the morning of the second day. And when we were heading for London half way, the pilot said some sensors stopped working and we had to come back to Dulles. To be honest, I will never take UA flights anymore, it is just TERRIBLE!"
Cons: "Touch screen broken on TV. I couldn't watch the films I wanted to watch."
Pros: "It was a old plane , entertainment was horrible . There was no choice of movies and other channels . For a flight this long they should have thought about this"
Pros: "Meals, for a coach ticket, were surprisingly good."
