In addition, the flight crew lets people stand around in front of you which reduces the extra leg room you pay a hefty price for. What’s the point of charging over $700 for this added “luxury” on each of your flights from JFK to Male, Maldives when you can’t use it. Emirates is nice, but didn’t reach the expectations they set."

Cons: "1. The comfort in economy class was insulting and horrible. I am 6'3", 175lbs and was trapped in one uncompromisingly uncomfortable position for 8+ hours. Torture is a word that comes to mind. If I were a smaller sized person, 5'8" or less, perhaps this may be acceptable, but for anyone over 6'. forget it. You must pay loads extra to be given a respectable seat. I am hopeful that I don't develop a blood clot from this flight. This lack of room is a seriously dangerous situation for many people on long-distance flights. 2. The seat recline feature added further insult to the mix. Once airborne, the lady in the seat in front of me sent her seat into what was left of any personal space or legroom I had. The video screen on the setback in front of me was literally 6" from my face now. Several people who were also of taller size complained, one was so adamant about retaining his space that he fought verbally with the lady in front of him, and eventually a stewardess had to be called. My wife complained on my behalf, and was able to get the lady in front of me to reposition her seat, but eventually, I noticed it somehow found its way back to recline again. I know Lufthansa is not alone with this predicament, but something HAS TO BE DONE to fix this huge problem with air travel. 3. The food on the flight to Germany was way better than the return trip. The meal consisted of mushy carrots, greasy mashed potato-like side, and a piece of OK chicken smothered in 'Murican BBQ sauce. I was insulted. Lufthansa had been better than this in the past. Oh, and the dinner roll was so dry and crumbly, it could have been weeks old. The snack before landing was called pizza, but I wouldn't call it that It was a bunch of tasteless dough, a little bit of tomato like sauce and a smattering of cheese. I wish Lufthansa would stick to what they do best; German-influenced food. Be true to who you are. Most people I know love German food, and I always have looked forward to LH food selections. Not now."

Pros: "the magazine selection prior to flight, bottle of water in front of each seat and crew were great, the pilot's landing was amazing! The seat in front of me had weird legs that made the room under the seat smaller than other seats around me. So you couldn't fit in the carryon fully under it as you could under the seat diagonally from me, however, this ended up being a huge plus since I could use the legs of this chair in front of me as stepping places to place my feet during flight. Since airline does not provide foot rest, it was great to have this to elevate the feet for a long flight. More considerations should be give to provide footrest or at least these kind of foot elevations."
Cons: "The dinner and breakfast were a bit disappointing, but not bad and not a deal breaker at all since the rest of the flight was wonderful. I noted comfort as ok, but that's applies to all airlines - the seats in economy and no footrest is very uncomfortable, but that's on all economy flights, so no deduction of points there. I do want to note that I needed a boarding pass at the gate and stood in line for quite a while (I was first in line) before I was even acknowledged by a lady who ended up helping me eventually. But she was so cranky! (there were 2 ladies - one busy helping the crew and putting around barrier - she was fine, the other with a head covering (putting this hear just to distinguish the ladies as one was doing a great job)- not sure what she was doing, but she plainly ignored me standing at the desk in front of her, I didn't say anything, just patiently waited until she acknowledged me, and then she printed the boarding pass for me, but she was way to cranky to be in the job that she is in - no need for that kind of attitude."

Cons: "The scheduling of the in flight events made no sense. The cabin was dimmed for take off (logical, given that it was a red-eye). However, once we were at altitude, the lights were put back on to serve dinner. Several people were woken up by this and it took like 1.5 hrs because its a big plane. Also, it was like 9-10pm local time by this point so dinner made no sense! Then the lights were dimmed and people tried to sleep. The lights were turned on 1.5 hrs prior to landing to serve a light breakfast. So, 6.5 hr red-eye turned into about 3.5 hrs of actual sleeping time. I would've preferred to be left alone and given a bigger breakfast."

Cons: "The crew did not know the law about child safety seats. They tried to inform us we could not use it, even though it is approved for air travel. Then they tried to tell us we had to face it forward, which is illegal and it cannot be secured like this. Then they told us the car seat needed to be against the fuselage, but that all the fuselage seats were taken. They did not offer a solution to this problem. I informed them this was TAP's fault for assigning those seats to us. They said they were not responsible, which is clearly wrong. They could have reassigned us at check-in and avoided the problem. They were very concerned about the ability of the person in front of us to recline their seat, but no interested at all in the safety of our baby. They told us we would not be able to use the seat, although our baby was already asleep. They were trying to find a way to make us leave the plane. Finally, some other passengers volunteered to move so we could sit against the fuselage with nobody in the seats in front of us, so we would not block them from reclining. A solution would not have been found by the crew. Only thanks to generous passengers were we able to stay on the plane, even though we were doing everything completely legally. They made my pregnant wife feel so bad that she cried for the first hour of the flight. Then, as the flight was concluding, our baby got airsick and vomited. They crew did nothing to help aside from bring 3 (!) napkins and then leave again. Incredibly unhelpful, mean, ignorant, and combative cabin crew. Truly appalling."

They will not let me have the second one. Who does that? How much sense is this supposed to have. I checked with others and they do not do that. That rule rule is unfair and racist. Now that I am back, I have a bag missing. Wow!"

Pros: "Food was good, many options with entertainment"
Cons: "The person making announcements mumbled and spoke too softly for someone who's announcing things on a flight. We couldn't understand half of everything being said. Also both flights departed late even though TAP reported them as "on time." We sat at the gate for almost an hour before departing with announcements at that time solely in a Portuguese - on a flight going to New York."

Cons: "why do they sell their tickets when they know they can not make the connection? little time between the two flights compared to the functionality of the airport. never again TAP"

Cons: "The hospitality of the airline crew is very poor as they are extremely rude to their customers. The planes I flew on were very out of date and not comfortable for international travel. I have flown on many airlines, but these planes were by far the worst. Cheap price, for a reason. The seats didn’t recline, the food was terrible, no options were given for food, and the movies were pre-picked. No one had a choice in what they watched. Very outdated. I had 2.5 hours to board my connecting flight and they caused me to miss it. As I waited in the customs line entering Lisbon, I asked a TAP representative if I’d have to get out of the line up and go right through as my flight left at 2:10 pm. They said you will make it, stay in line. I get near the front of the line 2 hours later... hundreds of people were in this line and they only had 2/10 customs agents available!!! I ask another representative how far my gate is since my flight leaves in 30 min and she told me “no you missed it. but don’t worry others will be missing it too”. So no I did not miss it, you caused me to miss it cause I already asked if I would and you people told me no. I run to the gate, which has now changed to the other end of the airport, so I run to that gate and it is 10 min before the flight is to take off. I ask the desk agent at the gate and he tells me the flight has already left. Others had missed it too due to the insane customs line up. So the plane left 20 mins earlier than scheduled with only half it’s passengers..... unbelievable!!! When I went to the service desk they did not show any sympathy or apologetic behaviours whatsoever."

Cons: "Seats were a bit hard and not a lot of legroom. But. Not unexpected for the section/price. Shorter flight made this bearable. Interior looked dated. Though, it is an A319."

Cons: "We had problems with TAP up front related to baggage fares and them keeping the $85 I paid for my son who is 2 meters tall to be in an exit row and then assigned to a different seat. He was miserable for almost seven hours."

Cons: "The 70 euro luggage fee was a bit excessive. The delay and subsequent missing of my connecting flight that resulted in a 11 hour layover and a 10 euro voucher was pretty lame. TAP Portugal customer service leaves a bit to be desired"

Cons: "As I keep metioning....you guys need to be more generous with the Victoria program. I fly you guys a minimum of 7 or 8 times a year, plus numerous partner flights, and what do I get? no free upgrades, 60,000 miles to become gold etc etc"

Cons: "They were lying about a supposed compensation for denied boarding which was supposed to be handed out in Lisbon. I didn't expect this behavior from grown up people, and such a company in Europe. TAP should be excluded from star alliance."

Pros: "Honestly I didn't like anything because before I boarded , I was charged for all my luggage . They said that tap changed there policy , how I suppose to know ? Why didn't it say anything while purchasing a ticket"

Pros: "Seats were comfortable in economy although no one is ever happy with how little they recline, crew was friendly and helpful. Entertainment selection was larger than most airlines I've flown on."
Cons: "Flight left Toronto at midnight, the crew served a meal and it was about 2 hours after departure that the cabin lights were finally turned off. On an overnight, overseas flight, turn off the lights and service breakfast with a noon arrival like all the flights I've taken to London do."

Cons: "First flight was delayed by just a half an hour and we arrived in Portugal. We had a connecting flight to AMS with also TAP and had a two hour window to make the next flight with the same company (TAP). We were in line for passport and then security and talked to several TAP employees and they said we would be have time and wouldn't have a problem catching the second flight. Well, we got through the lines with 30 min before our next flight and they wouldn't let us on. Customer service and organization of the airline is really poor. The aircraft had minimal room and no entertainment. We got on our next flight five hours later and all they gave us was a $10 food voucher. So poorly managed."

Cons: "No information or communication about bringing your own food or snacks on board. No food, snacks,entertainment or immigration forms were available. There was some food for purchase but if you didn't have a credit or debit card then you couldn't buy it. My mother was in a wheelchair waiting to board in Toronto and would have bought food to either eat there or carry on the plane but another passenger was severely reprimanded for getting out of her wheelchair and going to the bathroom, so my mother was intimidated to stay seated and not go to the bathroom nor ask any questions as to if she could go and buy some food or snack to eat while she was waiting. Only juices were served. She was flying since 11 am and arrived at 9:30 pm without any food. The website as well as all emails should inform about luggage weight as well as food and entertainment. On a layover the attendants should be more cooperative with disabled passengers and allow them to use the bathroom as well as to go and buy food."

Pros: "I enjoyed the crew, the food and the entertainment. The crew did give us peanuts for our extra 5 hours on the plane."
Cons: "We were 3 hours late for departure and took 2 extra hours in the air because of re-routing. The seats were abnormally stiff and went back so little that it was extremely hard to fall asleep during the 18 hours we were on board. The crew was unwillng to let us bring our instruments on board and thus, they cracked from the air pressure during the flight."

Cons: "The terminal had no food options at all when we were in a very delayed flight and hungry. We were not given seats ahead of time and therefore were assigned the last row which was very uncomfortable and could not recline. No one was at the desk to help with the seats for a Very long time. The boarding process was not good."

The seats had a decent size and good enough leg room. The flight was smooth, and we took off at a good time. The food was fairly good as well!"

My personal entertainment screen was very unresponsive and then the head phone jack wasn't working for sound, I had to hold it at a certain angle to hear bits of sound. Since the head phone jack was located at my thigh it was very uncomfortable and when I shifted I broke my headphones :("

Pros: "Captain gave us regular updates"
Cons: "LGA closed for wind. We sat on taxi road for 2 hours. Crew could have served more than water while we waited. No AirCanada's fault but crew should have a plan to serve the snacks/ food if we are sitting for two hours and the total flight time is 1.5 hours."

Cons: "In flight movie wouldn't even go full screen!!! Had to squint"

Pros: "They oversold the flight and were unable to provide the services that were paid for months in advance. They didn't care just go wait in a line and then another. Then overestimate Canadian dollars and with exchange rate that was much less and they said they do this everyday."
Cons: "I paid in advance at a Fair for services they never intended to provide then they over less because of the exchange rate but mention the stress created at the end of a vacation."

Cons: "This was the worse travel experience I have ever had. The crew was rude and gave wrong information that caused me to almost miss my flight. My ticket in the end ending costing me over $600 for all the additional charges. It was ridiculous. Among other things. I will never fly with them again."

Pros: "There is not one thing that was good about this flight. Bad plane, bad service, bad food. That sums it up. Will talk to as many travelers as I can to tell them to avoid this nightmare."
Cons: "No entertainment on board. No complimentary drinks. A piece of cold banana bread literally thrown on the tray for breakfast. Called the airline when reservation was made and told it would have entertainment and complimentary drinks. The switch to Rouge was a bait and switch. Rouge is from the 1970s. Long flights to sit and stare at the back of seat. Crowded seat at that. NEVER WILL FLY AIR CANADA AGAIN"

Pros: "I was concerned for seat comfort; my long legs fit fine and reclined sleep was comfortable. I was concerned about getting hungry; two meals kept my stomach quiet. I was concerned about sufficient distraction on such a long flight; the audio and video options are better than I've ever seen on the 767. Having just flown an Air Canada Rogue flight which was terribly cramped, uncomfortable and food-free with no form of entertainment I was worried. It turned out to be far better than expected."

Pros: "was forced to spend the night in Toronto because Air Canada didn't seem to know that there would be a huge crowd at the airport that evening. I was told as I exited my flight that I would not make the connecting flight and I had to spend the night in Toronto. I will never fly Air Canada again"

Cons: "The flight from Chicago to Toronto was delayed by half hour. But the boarding gate agents did not even mention the delay."

Cons: "For an unexplained reason, our first flight was delayed 45 plus minutes in Phoenix while cargo was moved from the forward cargo bay to the aft cargo bay. This caused us to miss our connection in Toronto. Air Canada then proceeded to rebook us on a flight leaving 2 days later. After an extended period of time, they finally rescheduled us for a flight to a different city in Europe and we had to catch another flight from there our final destination, Barcelona. The total additional travel time was extended by approximately 8 hours, causing us to lose the better part of our first day."

Cons: "My chair didn't lean back and the entertainment monitor did not work for about 2 hours."

Cons: "I couldn't get through security without my bag but they didn't have a way to let me know it was lost so I almost missed my flight waiting on a bag that wasn't coming. There should have been an announcement to come to the Air Canada desk. There wasn't. When I got to Charlotte, there was No One at the Air Canada desk to report my lost bag. Thank goodness those from United were able to provide me with a phone number to call. The phone attendant was not a native English speaker and made it incredibly difficult to file a claim. I'm still waiting for my bag."

Made the 3 hour trip feel a little uncomfortable. I miss the "back of the seat" entertainment system although the option through Air Canada's app worked fine,"

Cons: "Air Canada cancelled my boarding pass even though I made it to the gate before boarding started and refused to put me back on the flight. Then they lost my bags. The Toronto airport is a mess - avoid it if at all possible."

Pros: "Despite the original delay with the flight boarding staff was efficient at getting us on the plane as quickly as possible."
Cons: "The second part, from Toronto to Houston was the pitts. First of all they called me to the gate way before the boarding time and so I was a bit worried but when i got there there was nothing, they just confirmed I arrived from Montreal. This was strange and so I got a bit stressed as to why they had a called me and made me rush in the first place. Anyway, minor compared to the rest of the experience. The flight boarding was late, then an unscheduled stop in memphis for extra gas, then a tech problem that needed maintenance kept on on the ground. We finally made it to our destination 2 hours late. Most fellow passengers missed connecting flights and because we got out of the airport after midnight needed to get a cab to our accommodations. While I appreciate the attention to safety (and the curteous crew who obviously felt bad and were taking a lot of shit) we what was supposed to be a 3 hour flight ended up being 5 and there were no meals for sale,very limited snacks. We got one complimentary ,half can of juice and a bag of tiny bag spicy trail mix (labelled ranch) that i could not eat. After the delays we got an extra glass of complimentary cranberry juice. Which was amazing, but really did not cut it (from 5:15- midnight). By the end I was uncomfortable and starving! This was a radically disappointing experience in compared to the Ari Canada portion of the trip."
