This affects ,sometimes, how luggage is handled especially when you land in another country and you have to manually transfer your own - and nobody tells you. You actually change airlines. Itinerary implies West Jet controls the entire thing. Not the case. Better job economic explaining what to With luggage and that, while itinerant implies 1 airline, they are only partners and should be treated separately."

We were re-booked on connecting flights different then the one we originally booked and weren't even notified. They have a Delta app, but it doesn't even work right. Unless you physically go to the gate to check to see if the flight is on time, that is the only was to find out if you are re-booked onto a different flight or not. I have never flown an airline that re-books you on a different flight when they feel like it. I wouldn't recommend Delta Airlines to my worse enemy!"

As a result, I arrived in Medellin 4-5 hours later than planned, causing me to miss a tour that I had scheduled for that afternoon, for which I was not refunded. First time using Copa Airlines was unfortunately not a good one."

Even at the lowest fare class. Not Westjet, their automatic computer seating assignment gave us seats in separate rows !! When asked at the checkin and also again at the gate, we were told that the fare class that we paid for does not allow seat changes. They simply would not seat a parent and a child together unless we paid extra $25/person to change seats. This kind of gauging for money was shocking. Especially when there were 3 other rows behind us with free seats together !! This was clearly a case of wanting more money. At the lowest fare class parents travelling with children can expect the child to be sitting separately from them. Or pay up more."

Pros: "WS Care Center staff Minmico (think it was her name) arranged the 4:15 flight instead of the 6 pm flight but only because I requested her to check that flight when I returned to the CC to find out if it was possible to get on an earlier flight. I should have been advised when I first arrived at the CC from my delayed flight from Toronto that I could check back at the CC to see if there was a cancellation. Minmico allowed me to use her phone a couple of times to call my husband to advise him of the changes in my flight, which was very helpful. She tried hard just prior to the flight departure to have my bag delivered to the 4:15 flight but was unsuccessful. She gave me food vouchers, which I liked. I also thought the WS CC staff in Abbotsford was very helpful explaining the process for making a baggage claim when my bag didn't arrive due to my last minute flight change - the $100 voucher was appreciated when I picked up my bag the next day."

Crew did not communicate in a timely manner about when we would be flying.The plane should not have been in operation if the computer didn't work and passengers should not have had to wait on the plane for two hours while it was fixed. I missed my WS connecting flight to Abbotsford from Calgary and was only rescheduled on a plane departing 6 hours later! No one at WesJet Care suggested there may be a cancellation on an earlier flight - I had to arrange it by returning to the WS Care Center. I just barely made it onto an earlier 4:15 pm flight but without my bag which was put onto the later 6 pm flight. I chose to return the next day to pick up my bag."

Cons: "This was the most negative experience I’ve ever had flying Westjet. The female flight attendant was wonderful, fun and friendly and professional. The two younger male attendants were incredibly rude, rolled their eyes, ignored me, put themselves first (at one point instead of making room for me to return to my seat the blond one insisted I let him pass when it was unsafe for me to do so and nowhere for me to go). I felt demoralized by these two men and it’s both surprised and disappointed me as Westjet staff have a reputation for friendliness. These two men will Discourage me from flying Westjet when travelling to LA again. Not pleasant. Again the women was lovely. I tried to catch the male names but they wouldn’t stop and face me for long enough for me to see their name tags. They seemed to have some inside jokes between them and gave me the sense my requests were not welcome or respected. I am a nervous flyer and this was such a difficult and uncomfortable Experience."

Cons: "This was where the real fun in my trip happened. After my arriving flight got in 2 hours late and sat on the runway for 45 minutes because there was too many planes in the way for my plane to get to the gate I was not in the mood to run across the airport to go through customs and then through security (for the second time). However in order to make it onto this final flight that's exactly what I had to do. I also might add that it is incredibly stupid that connecting flights have to go through security again after deplaning, it's not like we're suddenly going to have weapons or anything so why waste that time? After I sprinted across the airport and got onto the plane the pilot announced that we were waiting to hear from the airport to take off. Long story short the poor pilot was trying to figure out what was going on but no one was even answering his calls. Eventually he realized that the plane hadn't been refueled and had to get a hole of them to refuel. At one point he must have gotten really frustrated because he left the plane in search of answers as the Toronto airport wasn't giving him any. Eventually after 2 hours of sitting on the plane we refueled and took off. On top of that my travel partner didn't get her luggage, we assumed that the Toronto airport lost it somewhere or something. Overall a complete nightmare."
Cons: "I was given a ticket with the seat 3A (one of the plus seats); I didn't ask for it or pay for it, I just got that seat when I was checking. After I found out it was a plus seat, I acknowledged to nearby the flight attendants and nearby passengers I didn't pay for this, that there was a mistake, and I could move if there was someone who did pay for it. What I received from the flight attendants are accusatory remarks/comments about how shouldn't be there because I didn't pay for it (after I acknowledged this before anyone even had an issue about it) and passive excuses that didn't make much sense when I asked them why there ws this issue in the first place. I was fine with moving seats from what I was initially assigned to, I was fine with being moved twice thereafter (first moving to 21E, then to 23E). What I was not fine with was 1. the accusatory tone by the flight attendants that I tried to take someone else's seat 2. even though I was given the seat by the person at the check-in desk when I didn't even ask for it and 3. after I was the one who initially brought up this issue in the first place and was willing to changet seats with he rightful passenger. Please learn to take responibility for your actions and mistakes and errors rather than blaming it on a passenger who just wants a safe flight home. Thanks."

Overall, an excellent experience!"

Unfortunately, the plane arrived in Edmonton 30 minutes late, and rather than wait 5 minutes for the passengers to disembark from the Toronto plane and board the Abbotsford plane, WestJet decided to leave all those passengers behind. There were no other flights available until the evening, and we were stuck for 8 hours at the Edmonton Airport before we were finally given a flight to Abbotsford. Never again will I book with WestJet."

Esp since I read thru all my reading material on the way to Toronto."

Boarded extremely early (almost an hour) but sat on tarmac for some time - eventually took off about 20 minutes late. Not airlines fault and likely result of holiday backlog Retrieving baggage from plane was biggest issue - use a carry on to but was required to valet bag as opposed to storing overhead. Baggage unloading was late (again, holiday backlog) but no personnel were available to inform passengers of delay, and bags were not in initial cart. Resulted a delay of offloading by roughly 20 minutes. Was ultimately found in the second wave of luggage, and witnessed baggage handlers tossing luggage carelessly onto cart floor. Nothing was damaged but was annoyed at lack of communication and overall disorganization."

Since I knew before leaving YYZ we were quite delayed my husband drove to ORD to pick me up instead of waiting 24hr for the next flight to St. Louis. Cons: "Background info: we flew from Dublin to Toronto (Aer Lingus) and we were supposed to fly Toronto to Los Angeles on American Airlines; however, we had a British Airways flight number for both of these flights. We missed our connecting flight in Toronto with American Airlines (we had a 2 hour layover) despite landing on-time (de-boarded a few minutes late). I suggest avoiding the Toronto airport ALWAYS as every passenger must pick up his/her luggage even if you have a connecting flight, and then re-check the baggage with the next flight. Apparently the baggage handlers were on strike and some of the customs agents as well which added to the delays. Well, after going through Canadian customs and picking up our luggage (which took quite awhile) we arrived at the American Airlines ticketing kiosk about 45 minutes before our flight. The computer told us we were too late for this flight and to see a representative. We proceeded to wait in line for an American Airlines representative only to be told this was Aer Lingus' fault (we had just flown with them); even though we had a BA flight number.. After searching for an Aer Lingus representative we were finally told they were probably all on the Aer Lingus flight that was currently about to leave. An Aer Lingus representative was paged to the ticketing counter (took well over 30 minutes for anyone to show up) and what proceeded was an argument (for well over an hour) between British Airways and Aer Lingus representatives about whose responsibility it was to re-book us. After an hour at least of poor customer service, we were finally rebooked by British Airways on the last flight to LAX (on Air Canada). Moral of the story: avoid Toronto and fly direct."

This flight was with BA partner American Airlines"

I did not understand this. Breakfast was a piece of "carrot cake" that looked like was picked up from the local jail in Toronto. Really my only complaint. Flight was bumby but not anyone's fault other than Mother Nature. Water in bathroom stopped working halfway through flight. Seats were not comfy as other airlines. My butt got numb somewhere around Greenland."

Cons: "We boarded in time to fly at 10:05pm, however 7 passengers didn't turn up until almost 11pm. We weren't offered any snacks or drinks whilst waiting. Our 7 year old son spent most of this time desperate for the toilet but we weren't allowed. We all just wanted to go to sleep after a long day, I wanted to get to sleep because I faced 4 hours drive home after landing in London. We were served food and drinks at around midnight... I was asleep and was woken by a stewardess shouting "Would you like a drink" (not sure if she was speaking to me - but to be honest on a night flight I expected the aircrew to be a little more tactful). The cabin lights were eventually dimmed at about 1:30 for perhaps a couple of hours, when they were turned back on and we were served a slice of carrot cake for breakfast. The whole trip felt very bizarre, the opposite of the outbound trip where everything felt very special. After landing we retrieved our luggage only to find our cases were badly damaged, we've traveled with the same cases for the last five weeks during which time they have survived without a scratch."

Cons: "The cabin was blazing hot and stuffy for the whole trip. The cabin crew for the most part struggled with faking the whole "nice and pleasant" part of their job. Really made you feel like you inconvenienced them if you ask them a question..... I only asked one, "what are the food options?" I didn't have a measuring tap to prove it, but the seats definitely felt tighter than most aircraft, and were very uncomfortable. I never have difficulty sleeping on a flight, even a Ryanair flight, but I along with half the cabin could not get comfortable enough to nod off on this flight. It was reassuring that I wasn't being overly picky when I saw half the cabin going through the same discomfort as me. Food was even worse than the usually bowel clogging garbage that you usually get elsewhere. All in all, if you are saving $400-500 flying with these guys might be worth the trip for you......do not penny pince and fly with them if the are $200 cheaper, absolutely not worth it. As for me I travel too much, and life is too short to have to put myself through that again."

Cons: "First off there was a 3 hour delay in the terminal at YYZ. Once on board, we sat at the gate for another hour (4 hour delay in total). Finally worst of all, since they are a "discount" airline, they fit in 9 seats per row as opposed to the usual 8 in an airbus 330, and I am sure more rows as well. (3x3x3 vs 2x4x2) I have never been so uncomfortable on a flight in my life, and I had an aisle seat! The guy next to me was an elderly, portly Portuguese man, and because the seats are so narrow, he was spilling over into my seat (no fault of his own). Neither of us could nap And the fare was not particularly cheap at $580 one way. It was truly horrible. I arrived exhausted and am still recovering from jet lag"

The crew was rude and not very accommodating. The in-flight entertainment and food service was not up to date and sub-par. There is little that could motivate me to fly Air Transat again."
