Cons: "I always prefer asian airlines"

Pros: "Food - Free dinners even for economy class. Entertainment - Every seat has a TV that offers multiple languages and tons of blockbuster movies from a variety of genres. They also offer many television shows in multiple languages and genres and video games. Roomy- The seats are as non-roomy as any airplane. However, the flight attendants don't give you any trouble when you want to just get up and walk around and talk to people. It gives the plane a roomy atmosphere. You can go to spacier sections of the plane to hang out."

Cons: "Flight was delayed, again!"

Pros: "The food was not bad. The crew was okay and definitely not amazing."
Cons: "Seats could be bigger and more comfortable like their alliance partners ANA, Asiana and Eva."

Pros: "Great crew"
Cons: "6 hours late"

Pros: "Food was good! Crew spoke great English."
Cons: "6 hour plane ride with no TVs/entertainment options were unclear, and no meal from PEK-HKT. Outdated entertainment system on 11hr flight from YVR-PEK. Beijing airport was an absolute maze, we got sent in 8 different directions from the moment we got off our plane!"

Pros: "The food."
Cons: "Entertainment system"

Cons: "Depart on time, missed my connecting flight"

Pros: "bad middle seat - no advance seat selection available even 4 days in advance from kayak app and just fly website said link is broken. airchina website cannot find ticket. empty exit row seats not allocated upon request - airlines wanted $100 more for it. allocated randomly to others mid flight."
Cons: "advance seat allocation at the time of booking."

Pros: "The stewards and stewardess’ were pleasant"
Cons: "Our first Air China flight departed 2 hrs late and then to top things off they lost my wife’s luggage on the way to Thailand. We had to wait in the airport for hours for it arrive on the next flight. The experience at Beijing airport was my worst experience in any airport. The Chinese staff were very rude. Just to transfer planes everyone must submit their fingerprints. I don’t think I will ever fly Air China again simply to avoid this airport."

Pros: "The 748 is nice and new and in premium economy the legroom stretches for miles"
Cons: "They lost our Bags! Crew did not speak english! Transferring is a pain! Food was very poor quality"

Pros: "The service"

Pros: "First off, the flight was cheap, really cheap, so for the price it was amazing."
Cons: "Planes was a bit old so the entertainment system was a bit temperamental, poor image and the wife’s controller had taken a beating, so was hard to navigate and adjust settings."

Pros: "Attentive crew"
Cons: "poor food variety"

Pros: "Good to have a footrest. Toilets in good condition."
Cons: "Low entertainment options Low quality of food. Same sauce used for both the meals. Didn't smell that great."

Cons: "The Air China ground staff was horrible. The return flight was late and so I missed my connection in Beijing. One of the flight attendants then blamed me for it because Kayak had booked the connecting flights too closely. I was then shuttled downstairs to ground crew who were terse, uncommunicative, and downright mean. I ended up in a hotel and can only hope this last part of my flight gets better. I’m still in beijing as I write this. And no wi fi on the domestic or international legs of the flight. Primitive."

Cons: "Our first segment was delayed and when we landed, no priority was given to get off the plane and run for next flight. We barely made it. Got to Dubai for a wedding and our luggage didn’t make it. There were five of us flying together. No one got their bags. We landed at 1030 pm and went to out first event that night in the same track suit I flew in. Awful airline. Never again."

Pros: "The flight attendant crew is pretty good. They don’t speak great English and when they are working they are short and not so courteous, however after they have served and a bit more relaxed they are pleasant."
Cons: "Ticketing staff are horrendous to be polite. There is no such thing as customer service. Checked in online and had seat confirmation and when I was at the booth my connection flight had me sitting somewhere completely different. I showed the email confirmation to the ticketing agent and she said that’s not a confirmation and would have nothing to do with it. I quickly realized i was going to get no where so left it."

Pros: "Courteous service, clean cabin, reasonable price for business class ticket compared to any other airline."

Pros: "Air China is a good solid performer...with modern planes and decent staff. Clean, On-time, safe. Our 748-8 had a modern entertainments system. Seats a bit tight for a 5'10 guy...but fine for my 5'1" wife."
Cons: "PEK boarding ramps really rundown at PEK. Signage for Immigration misleading. Range of local overnight hotels is more aimed at smoking business travelers from China....not some must Americans and Europeans. Transfers to and from airport can be unreliable...especially for very early or late flights. Coris hotel is a safe but expensive choice...with excellent staff and transit vans."

Pros: "Food was okay"

Pros: "Clean, comfortable. Solid flight."
Cons: "You have to take a tram to the plane and they don’t provide a separate shuttle for business class as some airlines do."

Pros: "Flight was good , webjet promised me aisle seats but did not deliver."
Cons: "Bejing airport is unfriendly, the staff are rude and the currency exchange is a joke. They gave me exactly half the value of my dollar ."

Cons: "Very poor service was very bad air hostess very rude"

Pros: "Food was good. Flight attendants were good."
Cons: "Tiny beds in business class with two-across seating so the window passenger has to climb over the aisle passenger. Are they stuck in the 90s? I won't fly with them again. Boarding in Beijing for Manila was a free for all. Business class was not called first. Isn't this why I pay triple the coach fare? No English language newspapers from Los Angeles to Beijing."

Pros: "Big plane"
Cons: "The TV screen is not working"

Pros: "Crew"
Cons: "Everything els was disapointing"

Pros: "Having an empty seat between myself and the other passenger. There was also a plug between each seat to charge devices."
Cons: "We couldn’t use any devices and had to rely on in-flight entertainment."

Pros: "The jasmine tea"
Cons: "You can’t have your phone on at all and there is a very limited and bad movie selection."

Cons: "LOST MY LUGGAGE FOR 5 DAYS AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT MAKING AMENDS. UNBELIEVABLE."

Pros: "Friendly service"
Cons: "Lost my luggage"

Pros: "Complimentary Movies with headphones provided were a plus. Tenants on the first flight were nice and accommodated me being a vegetarian with out any frustration. But the transfer flight with AirChina was not too happy about it. Meals were provided. If you are not vegetarian or find out how to put your name on a special request sheet it should go smooth."
Cons: "Seats were very narrow and seat by window wouldn't recline like other window seats. (No I was not by the exit.) I am a vegetarian. And asked for no meat. They didn't have a my name in a special request list. The crew member did know how I would be asked to be put on the list. I had a transfer flight with Air china to Dubai. The crew members in that flight were very rude even when I told them during boarding and a crew member came across with the special request sheet. Still no one could tell me how to put my name down as a special request to avoid any further confusion."

Cons: "They have no refund policy. I needed to change my flight date, but did not have a firm date in mind. Air China does not allow this. This is very unusual in my experience. And I fly a lot. Cheap bastards."

Pros: "Flight crew was nice. Seats comfortable. Flight left on time."
Cons: "Food and entertainment need improvement."

Pros: "Literally nothing. I guess the crew was nice. Sufficient at least and not unpleasant."
Cons: "Where to start. First off, I have flown budget air carriers with more leg room than this pacific international flight. I do admit I am a taller than average guy, but if you are over 6' tall you will have NO legroom. And I mean none. It is an insulting amount of legroom. My 5'6" wife barely had any room, never mind myself. On my flight back, I requested an emergency exit row seat (as I noticed on the flight over the emergency exit row was filled with old people and young couples with babies/ young children). And was informed it would cost $120 USD per flight per person. My jaw almost hit the floor. You mean to tell me that the emergency exit row - the row where in the case of an emergency you are supposed to physically be able to assist passengers - actually COSTS money to sit in? That is an absolute disgrace. You have to pay for the added responsibility to help in the case of an emergency? Of course, once I was on the flight the emergency exit row was filled with old people and babies. All of course perfectly capable of helping in the case of an emergency. I was, and still am furious. The gall to charge that much money and then give the responsibility to people unable to help? Meanwhile, an able-bodied couple in the 20s is denied and I am cramped in my less-than-acceptable-for-budget-airlines legroom. And the food. Putrid. Inedible. It was somehow overwhelmingly fragrant while far too bland. Its hard to imagine someone putting together that meal and feeling proud. The meals all screamed "I do not care about my customers." In fact, that is the overwhelming feeling I got from Air China. An airline that truly could not careless about their customers. I would not reccommend. Even if they are the cheapest by a far margin. Stay away. Do not go near. Air China is a terrible airline that should be avoided at all costs."

Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "The flight was delayed so late that I missed my international connecting flight home despite leaving a four hour gap. The inflight service was pathetic. The food was atrocious, the media system was broken, there was not wifi, and they did not allow the use of cellphones the entire duration of the flight even in airplane mode. The ground staff was completely unhelpful. I was barely able to secure an alternative flight home after about a half hour of negotiating. I don't think I could have got the flight at all had I not spoke Chinese. None of the other foreign nationals were able to get a new flight. The flight they put on back home had to stop in Hawaii and cost me a good extra 8 hours. I got home 12 hours later than I had anticipated. I am filing for compensation. What a joke. Air China shouldn't even both with international flights if all their domestic flights are delayed and they are barely able to help customers speaking their native language (to say nothing of English)."

Pros: "The flight was crazy cheap. The boarding was fast a simple enough, and the food was pretty good for airplane food. Overall I would probably pay this price to fly this airline again, but if I had to pay even 30 or 40 dollars more I would not."
Cons: "The Crew was crazy bad. They had plenty good enough English they just didn't give a rip if we needed something. My son spilled his yogurt on his lap so I asked for paper to get it cleaned up. The lady just huffed and walked away, I thought to get napkins, but nope, she never came back. This was one of several things that were just lazy or rude on the flight. Also, While I get that this is Air China, so most of the entertainment would be Chinese, the last time I flew Korean Air, and China Southern on international flights they had a pretty good international entertainment selection. Not so on Air China! there were about 4 English choices, and nothing else. Again, I would fly this again at this price (600 for round trip from CGO to DEN) but for even 30-40 dollars more, I would find something else."

Pros: "In flight movies."
Cons: "Long delay - forced to sit in plane at gate. Very little cabin air. Stuffy and very hot!"

Pros: "Not much at all"
Cons: "Lack of communication - our flight was supposed to land in Beijing but we were redirected to another airport due to bad weather. After we had parked at the terminal of our temporary airport, we were told to wait further instructions from flight crew and the control tower. After about 40 minutes the plane started going towards the runway without any warning to passengers who had started getting luggage down, opened contents of carry on baggage and luggage, etc. It was jarring to say the least and luckily no one got hurt. Additionally, our flight from Beijing to Vancouver, BC was delayed by 8 hours. None of the gate or airport agents could tell us why or provide any alternatives to those of us with connecting flights. Not only did they not provide information, one of the gate agents gave us the wrong information (the local time at arrival). We missed our connecting flight and incurred significant expenses (hotel and purchase of 4 additional one way tickets). For the reasons listed above I will never chose air china and strongly urge any listeners/readers to avoid them at all costs!"

Pros: "A comfortable flight, with one of the best flight attendants I've known (he spoke excellent English but was also really helpful and engaged in a completely authentic way). Great food too."
Cons: "The in-flight entertainment was a bit limited, and boarding was delayed."

Cons: "Lousy food. It was not as ordered.....Indian pure veg meal."

Pros: "Delays everywhere, made no attempt to help until we had already missed our connecting flight."

Cons: "Crew was not friendly. Food was mediocre. Drinks were mediocre. Seats were very uncomfortable. There was no English entertainment offered and they wouldn't let you use your phone on airplane mode. Air China's website doesn't work or do they have people answering the phones hey make you so it's impossible to check in ahead of time and select good seats."

Pros: "Airfare was a good price."
Cons: "Departure from Newark was 1.5 hours late because of a lame reason, the luggage couldn't be loaded on the plane in a timely manner. When I arrived at Beijing, they encouraged me to run to my connecting flight, even gave me a sticker and had people directing me, but it all seemed like for nothing as I wasn't even fast tracked through security. Not only did I sprint a mile across the terminal for no reason as the flight departed when I arrived at the gate, they couldn't even properly direct me where to get a new ticket for the next flight. About 100 people missed the flight so I don't know why they didn't hold the connecting flight as it was the last one of the day. Very poor service and organization the entire length of the trip. The flight the next day was late as well!"

Pros: "I like schedule and direct flight"
Cons: "Food entertainment no movie"

Cons: "Rude staff at PEK. Very unhelpful in dealing with a missed connection."

Pros: "Nice plane, nice crew, no problems."
Cons: "Plane was empty and passengers were not allowed to spread out for more room and comfort."

Pros: "Loved the price. The seat back entertainement was good. They had a good selection of movies, shows, music and games."
Cons: "The seat back entertainment touch screens aren't the best quality and would freeze a lot. Even though there was a good selection of entertainment, it wasn't really enough for stuff for round trip (13+ hrs x 2). I would recommend a few more movies. The food was okay, but not great. They came around with carts with drinks but would only pour about 4oz at a time and maybe came 5 times. Not enough for a 13 hour flight. Also, Chinese got preferential treatment for sure, and rude to Americans. Had a connecting flight which we were late so tried to get a flight attendant help us off first. Nope, just said there wasn't enough time and we would miss it and would have to get a flight the next day. Thankfully there were enough people taking the connecting flight they delayed it and we made it, but they do not care..."

Cons: "Good"
