Pros: Excellent service in most every respect! Boarding was easy, accommodations were quite ample, food was great, and the entertainment was plentiful.

Cons: Slight problem with making my seat into a bed, which wasn't fixable. Movies were good, except for the trailers before and after each, which seemed to take forever! Didn't get the seats my wife and originally booked with China Southern/Delta, but the substitution was quite adequate! Problems with checking in on flights, as neither airline seemed to be able to deal with this split ticket! But they tried very hard to make thing up to us, which goes a long way to making us feel like we are valued customers!

Pros: I usually have a smooth experience with Air Canada. Haven't had any problems on board. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with my baggage.

Cons: The check-in person said my baggage (oversized, and a keyboard) would make it through to my final destination even though I had another flight on a separate reservation. I specifically asked because I wanted to know if I needed to pick it up when I landed after the first leg in Toronto. He said I'd only have to go through customs and my bag will make it all the way home to Vancouver. Well, I felt weird about it and when I got off in Toronto I noticed that my baggage receipt said Toronto on it (not Vancouver). I decided to forego the connections gate because I was unsure. Lucky that I did because lo and behold, my keyboard bag was waiting for me at baggage claim. Had I trusted the check-in guy, I would've possibly lost over $1000 worth of equipment. That's not something that can easily be forgiven.

Pros: Crew on the flight were very patient, understanding and friendly. Ground staff were the exact opposite. Agitated, temperamental and unwilling to help or find solutions.

Cons: The flight was delayed. Not necessarily the crews fault. But frustrating as our flight both to and from Washington was delayed both ways.

Pros: That we survived and finally got our luggage the day after we arrived.

Cons: 1) That we went to Toronto, but our luggage went to Montreal. 2) That my wife had to stay up the whole night calling everyone in their call center to find out what happened to our luggage. 3) We were charged for selecting our seats in the flight reservation process. 4) We were misdirected by an Air Canada rep for our return flight and this caused us to miss our connecting flight as well. 5) We ended up spending more than 12 hours at the airport for flying from Toronto to Washington DC.

Pros: the crew are super friendly. even on a little plane from DC-Toronto they had entertainment options which i wouldn't have expected. boarded quickly and landed on time. nobody bats an eye at my wife's weird beverage requests.

Cons: the cabin of the plane on the return flight didn't have any air conditioning running during boarding and it was uncomfortably hot because it was about 85F outside. the crew only bothered to inform us of the issue when a poor hungover guy behind me asked about it because he was suffering... as were we all. plane didn't get comfortable until over 30 minutes in, at which point we were beginning our descent anyway.

Okay 5.6

Cons: The aircraft was so small there was not enough room for even most standard size carry-ons. The crew were not patient and gave passengers attitude for trying to bring their carry-ons onboard. On the way back from Toronto, we were sitting on the runway for more than one hour waiting for "de-icing". If this is a recurring thing, why not time the arrivals and departures better to avoid making people sit there, disconnected from everything and waiting? Also the screen on my "entertainment center" was broken but thankfully I had my own book to read. Air Canada has not had the most welcoming crew or most up to date fleet in my experience; I fly with them mostly because of their cheap fares. I guess "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch".

JFK
DCA
Good 6.3

Pros: We were able to fly standby on our original 2:30p flight but had to return to DCA for checked baggages later that day

Cons: Connecting flight from JFK to DCA was moved from approx 2:30p to nearly 8p, making our layover 7+ hours, as opposed to 1-2 hours. No reason for this change was provided. Delta crew member in JFK was rude and unhelpful. The second agent (who ultimately booked our standby tickets for our original connecting flight) was more pleasant.

LAX
Excellent 9.0

Excellent 9.2

Mediocre 2.0

Pros: That we survived and finally got our luggage the day after we arrived.

Cons: 1) That we went to Toronto, but our luggage went to Montreal. 2) That my wife had to stay up the whole night calling everyone in their call center to find out what happened to our luggage. 3) We were charged for selecting our seats in the flight reservation process. 4) We were misdirected by an Air Canada rep for our return flight and this caused us to miss our connecting flight as well. 5) We ended up spending more than 12 hours at the airport for flying from Toronto to Washington DC.

Prices are per person, are for e–tickets and include all taxes & fees in CAD.

We attempt to get accurate prices, however, prices are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.

If you have more questions or if you have a bad price to report to us,
please send us an and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.
