I was required to take $12 day insurance on top of my credit card insurance because I was unable to provide proof I had personal umbrella insurance. I have never encountered this and believe it was super shady and I felt bullied by staff there. It was after hours and providing proof was impossible, they knew they could squeeze their customers and they did. I was super annoyed, along with other people in line at pick up but my booking was prepaid so what was I supposed to do. They wouldn’t even let me provide proof the next morning. Will never rent with them again, their fees are hidden and shady AF.Reviewed 24 Jul 2024

There was no pick up. Also no person could be called. We had to take a taxi to find the rental company. When we explained it was annoying and asked to be compensated we got a discount for adding the additional driver for free to compensate the expensive taxi. This was good! Car had many warning lights and we went back they said it was still good. We also didn’t have any problems during the rental period so all was fine.Reviewed 23 Jul 2024

They have hidden fees (they charge $11.95 a day mandatory insurance and rely on fine print in their contract, when the contract clearly says the price includes all mandatory fees). Then on return they appear to be trying to charge me for damage that was already there.(I actually talked with staff before I left about that exact paint chip they are now appearing to blame on me)Reviewed 22 Jul 2024

Terrible the site said unlimited mileage on the rental and when we got there they said it was very limited and when I showed them the site they told me doesnt matter what it says online they won’t honour the booking so I had to pay an Uber for 2 rides for nothing lost $70 dollars threw kayak don’t use this site it’s a scamReviewed 17 Jul 2024

Horrible!!! I ended up playing 3 times more than i supposed to. Insurance paid thru Kayak was invalid, so instead of paying $296 + $80 CAD I ended up paying $596 US + $80 CAD. The car was the worst car I ever rented. 5 years old with almost 60k miles. With broken front bumper, missing dash went panels, broken front collision sensor, broken rear parking sensors, dings and scratches all over body. Gas tank supposed to be full, but it wasn’t. Pickup location requires two separate shuttles with 30 minutes wait time for each. Overall, I was scammed by Kayak, Economy car rental and Insurance provider.Reviewed 16 Jul 2024

I arrived and the car that i reserved was not there and they have no solution from me. So i had to cancel direct with the compagny on line and e took me 2h30 to found another car, elsewhere and i couln't have the unlimited km , so i paid more that i was expected.700$ more.very desapointed.no services, no help.no nothing.Reviewed 15 Jul 2024

I booked my car on your website I had selected insurance in case of damage at the first $500 When I arrived to pick up the car, the queue was huge We waited more than 1 hour to recover the car I was then told that the insurance had been removed during the payment Suprise, it is then that the man at the counter mantionne me that I must take the insurance on the spot The rental should have cost me $ 360 and I left Économrent with a bill of $ 560 almost double mentioned on your site! I had to pay a $1,000 deposit that was mentioned nowhere before I was at the counter I had to increase my credit limit to be able to leave with the voirture I do not recommend anyone to do business with this site Very disappointing!Reviewed 11 Jul 2024
