Used kayak to order a rental from hertz in niagra falls. Somehow it got switched to Buffalo so me and all last 2 other families had to get ubers too and from the rental place that was 30 minutes from the airportReviewed 3 Feb. 2023

We arrived at the pick up location at 4:50 pm and our pick up time is 5:00 pm. However, the store closes at 5:00pm and when we arrived there, the store had closed and we could not pick up our car in any way.Reviewed 12 Sep. 2022

Car was in rough shape, several issues while we had it which made for a stressful experience. Pick up and drop off went smooth but staff was only minimally concerned about the problems with the rental…low psi on tires, reverse light out, broken seat belt buckle, not filled gas upon pick up. Pick up was fine. The car was clean ish but smelled kind of like urine. Drop off was not good. Workers standing around but noone came to accept the drop off. We went inside to drop off the keys and made note of the mileage, gas and time of drop off as per the instructions. The employee said that the information was already logged as the system is electronic. He also told me that I had to pay for a fuel surcharge because the gas tank wasn't completely full. I actually returned the car with more gas than when I picked it up and they still charged me! I filled up 8 miles from the drop off location and explained this to him. He was nice and seemed to empathize but said there was nothing he could do. Beware and go somewhere else!!!Reviewed 14 Aug. 2022

My complaint is this: I opted for “manager choice” for the rental. They NEGLECT to inform you that you may end up with a FULL electric vehicle. This was 100% unacceptable. It was a major inconvenience as the home charging took literally over 26 hours to charge. The few charging stations around were inconveniencing not only me, but the guests I was staying with to pick up and take me back. It still took 4 hours to charge. I received attitude from the Hertz associate, and no explanation as to why they don’t warn you that you could get stuck with one of these cars. I’m still livid with them and will fight to get compensation back. BEWARE!Reviewed 8 Aug. 2022

Donna at the Hertz desk (Buffalo-Niagara airport) was AMAZING and very helpful. Unfortunately there seems to be an issue with their vehicle turnover/cleaning/prep workflow as several guests had to wait 45+ minutes for their vehicle.Reviewed 28 Jun. 2022

I appreciated the ability to get a slightly better vehicle for the money using the “manager special” option, but I’m also aware that’s a crapshoot and dependent upon what they have available at any time. Although I got an upgrade, it was a smoked-in vehicle, and rags from the cleaning crew were left in the vehicle.Reviewed 14 Jun. 2022
