Whatcha out for these guy!!!Cons:What a complete bunch of lies. They promised me a weekly rental at $240, but when I arrived, I was required to have an additional $400 worth of insurance. I went with Thrifty because they are well known in The US, but they are obviously not paying attention to how their Cabo oporationot is treating their customers. I had no choice and had to continue with the rental. I had my two young daughters with me and I wasn't about to drag them around the airport looking for another rental car. Then, to make it even sleezier, there is a time share company with an office there at Trifty that will pay your additional insurance charge on the car if you go sit through a two hour tours at one of their properties. I feel scammed.Reviewed 16 Oct. 2016

Very rude staffPros:Very little to like.Cons:They spoke poor English, which is understandable since it is not an a predominately English-speaking area. They took an extreme amount of time to get our paperwork filled out, and we got our keys almost 45 minutes after waiting in their hot lobby (not air conditioned well). When we returned our car, they pointed out damage on the car which we are certain was not our fault. We should taken pictures of the car at a full 360 degrees. We pointed out the damage when we picked up the car, but their employee did not mark it properly on their form. When we complained about this, their employees started becoming aggressive and very confrontational. We may have slightly raised the tone of our voices to indicate our disappointment/frustration, but they took it to another level and tried to make us feel like fools. If you are smart, please make the right decision and do not rent your car from this Thirfty location. The staff displayed terrible customer service. This may look like a deal, but it is just not worth the money or the headaches.Reviewed 5 Jan. 2017

Thrifty Agent In Cahoots with Crooks at the GrandPros:The car was good.Cons:The agent writing the rental agreement asked me in a joking way if I had a strong heart and quoted me a price over $1200 for 11 days that would cover complete liability and comprehensive coverage. He laughed and then said he could sell me the minimum required by Mexican law for $549. But, he said if I talked to another man at the Thrifty office, he could get me the maximum coverage for the same price as the minimum insurance. So I talked to the other man, who said we could get the lower price if we attended the time share talk at the Grand Mayan, but we needed to give him a $200 refundable deposit to ensure that we attended the talk. I gave him a $100 deposit. When I checked at Cabo Azul, I was asked if I had an appoint at the Grand Mayan. When, I said I did and explained what happened, she said they run that scam a lot and gave me $100 and pointed out that I had the liability and comprehensive coverage for $549 and that I did not have to attend the talk at the Mayan. The Mayan representative and the Thrifty representative are clearly working together and are scam artists. The Thrifty agent should be fired and the Mayan rep banned from the Thrifty area.Reviewed 14 Feb. 2016

Pros:Helpful staff from the plane to the rental areaCons:An hour plus wait in line to get the car wasn't awesome. The car needed to be replaced due to a out of balance wheel. We lost a day on our boat charter to replace it. The Hertz staff in La Paz were awesome. Helpful, fast. curtious.Reviewed 11 Jan. 2021

Cons:staff was very rude, tried to overcharge me multiple times (added more days, insurance I didn't need, etc.). Overall, it was a terrible experience and the price charged for the rental pales in comparison to the other hidden fees that are added on once you arrive. I will never be using this service againReviewed 11 Jan. 2021

Cons:I have not recived the detail of my rental, we scarched the car and they could not tell me how much the repair was going to cost. plus a friend rented with the same enterprise and his cost was 50% less. Honestly I don't think i will ever rent through Kayak again...Reviewed 7 Dec. 2020

Pros:There is a reason this shows up as the cheapest rate when you search via the internet. What they don't mention is the required mexican tax liabilty insurance that for us was DOUBLE the car rental rate. Everyone at Thrifty rental was furious in line at this hidden fee. Staff was rude, lines were long. Myself, husband and four kids had to wait over an hour for a DIRTY car that was way smaller than what I reserved. Never again.Cons:Honest upfront pricing!Reviewed 12 Apr. 2021

Cons:Worst experience ever. They did not have any vans that I reserved. They had no cars that would accommodate luggage. Why did I bother reserving when nothing was available. Told us to talk to the guy/company next to him that he was talking to before we walked up. They could accommodate us for more than 3 times my reserved price. Thrifty could care less. They need to be removed as an option. We had to then find transportation to the hotel. I will not use Kayak again.Reviewed 3 May 2021
