Then we didn’t have any ground crew to get us off loading ramp. Finally got away 90 minutes or more after scheduled departure. I was then Seated next to an individual that should have had two seats to themselves instead of most of my seat and theirs. I was literally pressed into the bulkhead by the very large person next to me. Who had another large individual next to them. WestJet used to be a great airline that Had a little more legroom. Now airlines like flair offer the same flights with more legroom wider seats and far lower costs. WestJet has lost me as a customer that used to pay a little extra if There was a WestJet flight option"

The man who listened to me complain was very kind and empathetic and the only good part about being forced to miss my flight. Not happy but at least my luggage wasn't lost. Will I fly with WestJet again? Probably. Will I expect some sort of hang up and/or inconvenience? Definitely."

Due to an issue with a bag on board without the associated passenger we had to taxi back to the stand for it to be removed before we could take off. This cost us an hours delay. There was limited apologies for this, no refreshments provided during the wait and poor communication of this. During the flight the staff were inattentive and sparing with refreshments. Service generally did not live up to expected level associated with an inter-continents flight. The flight was turbulent but crew and captain seemed over cautious with it and crew had to remain seated unnecessarily at times and at the detriment of passenger service. One stewardess wouldn’t even let me finish a drink before removing it from my hand claiming we were about to land and she had to sit down because of turbulence. We were still 40 mins from landing at this point! All in all a pretty bad flight, and it’s safe to say I won’t be flying American Airlines again."

Had it been busy, it would have been different in that seats were not very wide, aisles very small, if the seat in front reclines and you don't, you can't see your screen and not a lot of space in general."

On their own with nothing else and it arrived 30 minutes before we landed so very rushed. On a 9.5hr flight the 2nd meal needed to be an actual meal and come sooner than it did."

Cons: "Realized I left my iPhone in pocket of my seat as soon as I exited plane - spoke to gate agent within 1 minute of leaving plane and she Asia she would get the cleaning crew to look while I waited. Waited 20 min only to hear a bunch of lies about how they asked the flight attendant to look but she couldn’t find it - should have just walked back on plane to do it myself. Was told to “go online” and file a lost and found report. This is a small airport - TRI cities TN - absolutely zero customer focus by and American Airline employee - and I asked to sp all with a supervisor and manager with the hope I would get my phone back. Worst service and zero caring attitude I’ve dealt with - and I fly a lot. It will be Delta from here on out. I went on line and filed a complaint and lost and found report - am betting a large amount of money I hear nothing other than an automated reply."

Cons: "On March 18, 2018 Joanne, Kevin, and Allison Sheridan were booked to go from SYD to YYJ and only Kevin took off. We went to the airport and my daughter Allison was too anxious to get on as she had to leave her father behind. After she calmed down we went to get on the flight and the lady at the check in, (Onwsha) said it was too late and we could leave the next day. She changed my tickets on the computer and said if we came on Monday, March 19th there wouldn't be a charge but if it was any other date it would be $150.00 per ticket/person. When I arrived to check in on March 19th I was charged the $300. I spoke to Sharon Smith who was with Air Canada Customer Service Coordinator and I explained I was told something different by the customer agent. I told her if I knew that and I was told by Onwsha I would have went on the flight on March 18th but would not have checked the bags and just taken carry on luggage as my husband was still at the airport and he could bring them when he came over. Sharon Smith said there was nothing she could do and we had to pay the $300.00. It really has left a bad taste for me with Air Canada especially how many seats were spare and I was told something different from Onwsha. Thank you for your time. I feel jammed in the seat and, with passengers behind complaining when my seat is reclined, my bad back threatened to leave me to hobble off the plane. The continuing reduction in seat size and leg room is becoming ludicrous."

Cons: "My issues are two part: 1 - I wasn't informed that I was required to retrieve my luggage from the carousel on this flight from George Town to Toronto. I thought perhaps I missed something, however, the three other couples that were in the same predicament I was weren't aware either. This caused a massive headache, the instructions were superbly poor on how to retrieve the luggage, and the process was completely a waste of time. We had to talk with three different people, the person that took us back to the carousel showed no urgency despite us all explaining that we were on a short layover, and might miss our next flight, and even though we had our passes to get through customs, we were made to wait in line to have our baggage inspected. A completely broken process that could've been avoided with a friendly reminder at check-in. 2 - Once I was able to retrieve my luggage I picked it up off the carousel only to find the handle on one piece of luggage had been ripped off, and the plastic lining on the other bag was destroyed. Admittedly I find this to be no surprise after seeing how mine and everyone else's luggage was handled so poorly upon being loaded into the cargo. I saw my luggage being tossed 3-5 feet into the cargo area - literally picked up, and with complete disregard flung like it was a trash bag being thrown into the dumpster. Since I didn't have time to discuss this with any staff due to my prior issue and being unable to find a representative once I landed back in Vancouver, I called the next day to discuss this over the phone, but the representative explained that I was only able to make a complaint in-person at the time of baggage retrieval. The person was absolutely useless and unwilling to help. This was by far the worst treatment I've had at any time in my life while flying any airline. The trip to George Town was with American Airlines, and even though it was longer, and a tad bit more expensive, the service I had with them was stellar by comparison to my experience with AirCanada. Going forward I will only be using AC when there are absolutely no other options."

Cons: "Cancelled one flight, then delayed another one because they were waiting for a pilot. They offered very little help, citing that they couldn’t control the weather, meanwhile WestJet is finding & paying for rooms, shuttle buses and taxis to make the delay more tolerable and less stressful. We could only watch and wish we were flying WestJet."

Cons: "I wasn’t able to check in online and therefore wasn’t able to update with my dietary requirements which meant I couldn’t really eat anything that was given. I was told at the airport that it needs to be submitted 24 hrs before the flight and there was nothing they could do. Really unfair and not on."

Cons: "I bought my ticket with Air Canadafrom Vancouver to Calgary then connected with Lufthansa from Calgary to London UK. Unknown to me I could not find the flight because it had been changed to an AC reference flight. With a very short time for the connection I did not know where to get my boarding pass as my flight with Lufthansa was nowhere referred to ! Not which gate to go . Why not put it in the ticket that Lufthansa and Air Canada work together and that both flights ref should show !! It would avoid a great deal of anxiety . Only offered 1 round if hot drinks over 9 hours ! Departure delayed by nearly 60 minutes"

Pros: "Organised zones for boarding"
Cons: "i am à French National ( France) living in UK. After a confusing conversation from the officer not understanding that I was not travelling to France ( assumption) I was asked to show evidence I had the right to enter UK !!!! I explained I lived there permanently ; I was then asked why French hate English so much!!! To which I explained only narrow minded people would believe so and that the style of her comment were not appropriate . I explained my children were half French half British and that her comment was offensive ."

Pros: "I liked the crew on the plane."
Cons: "I didn't like the boarding process. There were parents with children who were not seated because of their group numbers. Why not board parents with children first, regardless of boarding group?? Especially those of us who were traveling with babies/toddlers. Air Canada can do better. Disappointed."

Pros: "Good leg room. Staff friendly and helpful. Really great flight."

Pros: "Staff all friendly and helpful, both at desk and in plane. Seats were pretty comfortable with sufficient leg room (I am tall), but if you are a wide person (or next to one) it would have been pretty cramped. Neither of my flights (to Newfoundland) were full so we all had a bit of extra space. Food was adequate but could be improved with fruit instead of dessert."

Pros: "The staff was very congenial and helpful. Sense of humour too!"

Cons: "I didn't travel with children, but if I had done they would have needed entertaining. The crew offered iPads (to rent) for the entertainment of children and adults alike. Why can these not just be given to passengers, better still BRING BACK SCREENS IN SEATBACKS!!!"

Cons: "One of the crew members seemed a bit out of sorts, didn't smile much and was curt with another passenger when she was asked to take his garbage."

Pros: "Everything. The plane was immaculate, the seats were comfortable, the food was delicious, the flight crew was friendly and professional. Air Canada's abillity to transit passengers from the US to international destinations is truly remarkable and must be best in class. I went from an inbound flight from Houston, through Immigration and to the gate for my flight to London in under 15 minutes!"
Cons: "Nothing."

Pros: "Very comfortable and clean aircraft. Friendly crew. Seats at the front of Economy had excellent legroom. Helpful flight announcements from the captain."
Cons: "Air Canada has only one gate at Houston, which appears to be in constant use, at least in the early afternoon. If one flight is delayed in departure, it causes a backup with other flights."
