Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Price"
Cons: "Connection time in Vancouver is horrible and international transfer process is awful Especially with small children"
Pros: "Everyone was cordial"
Cons: "Entertainment system, especially the sound was poor"
Pros: "Seated in the exit row and lots of legroom."
Cons: "Not much"
Cons: "I was unable to check in online, then waited in line at the counter for 45 minutes to then be redirected to AirCanada counter, where I then had to walk back and forth across the airport with their representative to have them 'find' my ticket, which was supposedly lost. It would have been nice to be informed via email, which counter I should check in at and also, confirmation that they had my ticket. Fortunately I showed up 3 hours early, because I needed every minute of it."
Pros: "nice crew, very attentive"
Cons: "no movies, charge for food"
Pros: "On board crew was friendly and capable."
Cons: "My first and last flight on the CRJ 9. It's much less comfortable than a prop plane, for a 90 minute+ flight."
Pros: "Friendly staff, happy to help"
Cons: "Terrible food, plane was overbooked, they only offer 'in-ear' headphones, they have squeezed maximum seats into this plane to increase their profit. Would absolutely NEVER fly Air Canada long haul economy or premium economy again."
Pros: "Friendly crew."
Cons: "Terrible food and entertainment on the flight to and from Santiago. Felt squizzed like a sardine in the can in the middle row. I will never choose Boening 777 for overnight flights. Transfer in Toronto was confusing. Delayed arrival caused problems in retrieving luggage and made a stressful experience getting to Chicago flight on time - not mentioning sluggish US border check in Toronto. For my next trip, I would rather pick another airline and transfer airport."
Cons: "No video screens for entertainment. If you want to use in flight entertainment, you need to download the Air Canada app prior to boarding."
Cons: "Worst experience !!!!"
Pros: "No in flight entertainment system. I hate those things. They take up room and lots of times you can't even turn off the screens. Streaming to personal devices is a much better solution."
Cons: "Food for economy class 10 hour flight was: Dinner: a bowel of rice with a couple of shavings of meat, bread, and a brownie. Snack: pretlzes Breakfast: small loaf of bread with a tiny amount of meat filling. Absolutely eat before boarding this flight. All you will get are carbs. The foam on the seats was thin and not comfortable. This airline can be a bit cheaper than others but I don't think it's worth it."
Pros: "Nothing!"
Cons: "More a problem with Toronto Airport then Air Canada. However, the planes do not have enough room for comfort."
Pros: "On time"
Pros: "Flight was delayed leaving Dallas due to crew members arrived late."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Multiple delays, slow employees at desk, employees had attitudes when they were asked questions."
Cons: "Economy seats are very small and tight. Food is average at best. Crew is semi-friendly/"
Pros: "The crew were Greek and I liked them very much. Other than that, though, nothing good stood out."
Cons: "There was a riot in Athens that day that delayed us 2 hours. I arrived in Athens WAY later than expected WITHOUT my baggage. It was still in Toronto and never moved once they made me late for my Munich flight. I did not have my baggage for several days following that and it made my trip difficult."
Cons: "Long delays"
Cons: "Plane was too small with extra small overhead bin. Entertainment system was also mediocre which keep shutting down and have to again select your movie and forward it :("
Pros: "Boarding was quick, service was quick."
Cons: "Seats were not comfortable, very tight space since plane was so small. I'd never flown international before so when they handed out the immigration forms without any explanation, I was very confused."
Cons: "Flight was delayed multiple times. Was tracking boarding from the Air Canada app as there was nowhere to sit by the departure gate or screens. The app didn't advise that the flight was boarding (unlike other apps such as BA). I missed my flight and they insisted on charging me more than what I paid for the entire ticket just to return home. I got back to London to find that my luggage didn't make the journey. Staff at Air Canada were unfriendly and unprofessional."
Pros: "Staff were friendly"
Cons: "Seats were narrow and sitting in aisle seat you were constantly hit every time cabin crew took trolley up / down aisle. Woke up by cabin crew banging into me."
Cons: "Hey there good Air Canada folks. I'm a full-time, working, touring musician. I enjoy flying your airline overall, but touring with an acoustic guitar and/or a banjo is constantly stressful. There are clear guidelines about your policies for musical instruments posted on your website, yet your employees never seem to know them. Please have something posted for them at the gates, so I don't have to convince them EVERY TIME that it's okay for me to carry on my instrument in a soft case. A side note: Since airlines started charging for baggage, people are desperate to carry on as much as possible. This means there is always a struggle now against people with a bunch of clothing and personal items in their rolling luggage, to fit the instrument that is my LIVELIHOOD on the plane. Please find a way to make touring with Air Canada easier for musicians. At least return to gate check policies."
Pros: "The experience was par for the course. No frills, no pleasantries, only water and juice on offer, but the A330 was great."
Pros: "Good leg space very comfortable sitting and entertainment television."
Pros: "The food"
Cons: "The crew was absolutely terrible and very rude"
Pros: "Guys, we were traveling in the middle of Matthew hurricane and the pilot was just perfect, we didn't feel it. No bumps, no disturbance, nothing. Like shiny day. Congrats"
Cons: "Delayed departure from Seoul so I missed the connection flight to Washington DC."
Cons: "they made a bunch of people check bags for plane which normally in my past experience has just gate checked larger bags. i'm not sure why they needed to check the bags, and we got away with not having to do that, but it seemed unnecessary"
Pros: "Food was not included in a 5 1/2 hour flight. Which it should be."
Pros: "The crew was nice and understanding"
Cons: "I was stuck up against the back galley with no armrest on the aisle but that was only the beginning when the guy in front reclined his seat the seat back it was dangerously close to my head. In the event of turbulence it would have been easy to sustain a massive blow to the head from the seat in front of me during a whiplash type motion. The person that approved this seating arrangement should be terminated."
Pros: "Overall everything was good, i liked the customer service of the crew. Boarding was on time. Everything went smooth. Overall I was very happy according to the price i paid for the Tickets. Customer, Tanmay Bhatt"
Cons: "Only thing that i would request is the screen of the Tv, If possible please make it good. Thank you."
Pros: "The only thing good about the whole trip was the stewardesses were very good at their job and very helpful but the seats were uncomfortable and dirty and they were too close together and very uncomfortable to sit in"
Pros: "One person assisting passengers whose flights had been canceled was gracious and skillful."
Cons: "My flight, 370 was canceled. Initially, one of the AC staff at customer service was overwhelmed and impatient. The next flight was delayed by about seven hours. My baggage didn't arrive in Toronto. I found it extremely difficult to learn where the baggage could be, spent hours on hold with Air Canada and then Dynamex, and waited four days to receive my bag. I was with about 100 people at a summer camp. The staff created a funny skit about AC, Dynamex (sp?) and the endless "your call is important to us" tape recording. I understand that flight plans must be canceled and changed due to weather, but AC relies too heavily on automated "service.""
Cons: "Delayed flight, nearly missed connection, lost luggage, inconsiderate staff"
Cons: "No tvs. Delays. Worst airline ever"
Pros: "The flight attendants were wonderful. Everything was great but they stood out to me and my experience."
Cons: "Flight and hospitality"
Pros: "The staff where friendly and easy going, the boarding was also organized and because the flight was really full of you gave the carry on to be checked they allowed you to priority board"
Cons: "The food countinues to be and issue I flew the same airline 2 years ago and the meal options had not changed. The salad was so bland I was certain that I was eating plastic food."
Pros: "Plenty of leg room"
Cons: "Long line and not much organization during boarding"
Cons: "Not assigning a seat and giving me a stress of putting me on stand by for a ticket I had purchased!!!!"
Pros: "I was not expecting much from the small aircraft, but there was so much leg room that my very tall husband actually fit in the seat and his knees didn't touch the seat in front of him like usual. And, there was an in-flight entertainment system, also unexpected. Kept the kids happy."
Cons: "I gave 1 star for food because there wasn't any. Air North has cookies."
Pros: "Nice aircraft. Good direct flight without the hassle of a layover"
Cons: "Seat comfort not so good. The cabins a bit dated with the seats needing to be tightened."
Pros: "The food was good"
Cons: "I was put in overbooking, and was concerned about not being able to get on the flight. Everything worked out fine in the end, but still did not appreciate this. Given the risk of not being able to board, I will likely not use this airline in the future."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable..."
Cons: "Plane windows were really dirt... staff was a bit rude..."
Cons: "Deplaning and entering the terminal was delayed substantially."
Pros: "The pilot was good"
Cons: "My tv did not work, the crew was not overly friendly and I was disappointed that for a 5 hr flight there was not even a snack. For the price of the ticket I expected better service"
Cons: "To have to pay for entertainment"
