Beautiful day to fly, plane wasn’t very busy.
Check-in was easy and the representative was friendly and helpful in delaying with my special requests for my medical needs. The plane was delayed, but once boarding started things moved quickly. The delay resulted in arriving 40 minutes later than originally anticipated. Other than that everything was great!
My reservation is GWUSIC and I was not able to fly on Jan 10th. I was not able to change my ticket online nor cancel it, the website would redirect me to a "not found" page after I select the filght I wanted. I tried to reach your costumer services for a week before my flight via emails and phone calls, spend way more than 10hrs on hold without any result. I booked via Westjet directly to be sure I would not get this kind of issue, was a mistake apparently. I finally got a hold of someone on Jan 9th after many attempts, no apologies from the costumer service nor consideration, the ticket I needed to fly on Jan 15th went from 160CAD to 670CAD that night and I was told I should pay the difference more than 500CAD. I was also told I should have by the ticket on Jan 15th when I saw it despite I could not cancel mine online... I now have to fly the 16th and not the 15th, which adds hotel fees and 1 days of travelling plus the risk of not being able to go home to Calgary because of COVID restrictions that may occur in between. I find disrespectful and unconsiderate the way I was treated despite I tried all what I could to reach you out in due time to fly the 15th. I did my share as a client and tried reach out way ahead of time when prices where reasonable, I received no call back nor emails though I provided everytime my email, even tried different one, and no emails in the spam, just a malfunctioning webpage apparently. I have proof of all that, screenshot and video if you need to help you improve the service. Truly disappointed in your costumer service who did not consider the situation, did not offer to cover the change fees despite it was because of Westjet malfunctioning services that I could not do my change on time! I could understand the stress and wait time due to the pandemic situation, but not at all cost, this is not good practice from such an initial good company.
Not only was my bag not on the flight. They didn't notify me until 7pm where my bag was. My flight was at 10:35am. I was left for 2 days without a toothbrush and lotion, face cream and charger and clothing. I still haven’t actually received my bag but they say it’s on the next flight. Major hassle. So rude that they must have known right away my bag wasn’t on the flight but they failed to let anyone know. I thought my luggage was stolen at the baggage claim. Major stress. Messing up my vacation. They want me to submit receipts to compensate for me having to to buy replacement stuff but the damages were more than just having to buy a new toothbrush. It was the stress and anxiety that was the major problem.
Connection to Toronto was terrible. Needed an escort to the connecting flight. Baggage-never made it to connecting flight. We barely made the connection to Toronto. Never going WestJet again:(

On this flight no one was jovial or smiling, the garbage sat on our trays for the majority of the flight. The attendants spoke to each other more than the passengers. Very disappointing!"

My flight was departing at 6am, and they ask to be there 45 mins before which would have been at 5:15am, I got there at 5:20am and the gate was closed. At 5:25am an employee came to check me in but still advised me to be 45 mins in advance next time. I was only 5 mins late and they weren't even at the gate on my arrival. The security at the airport was rude."

Pros: "Before taking this flight, I was very nervous because of all the bad reviews on here and other sites. The only good reviews seemed to be by people from Alberta (not really trustworthy, as they seem to support anything that's from Alberta, and note that Westjet is based in Alberta...). But I was blown away by how organized Westjet was and how nice they were. All the flights were on time (I had a few layovers), the staff was helpful....I really have no complaints. Sure, they don't have a plethora of great in-flight entertainment such as movies, etc. But when I fly, I'd rather pay less, have the staff be nice/organized, and just bring a darn book to entertain me. It was a great first flight with this company. I would fly with them again....and I can't remember the last time I said that about any other airline. So do yourself a favor: Don't listen to the bad reviews on here (unless you're obsessed with in-flight entertainment and big-butt first class seats)."
