Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Flight was delayed 1 hour. We still managed to make our scheduled rendezvous."
Pros: "The crew was very helpful and nice!"
Cons: "The baby changing tables are way way too small and the metal hinges on them are dangerous The plane seemed small - like the seats and restrooms. It was a tight squeeze"
Pros: "Crew were very nice and the airplane was modern and well appointed"
Cons: "I seemed to be surrounded by fidgeting people."
Cons: "One hour late taking off"
Pros: "Friendly, attentive staff. Good service. My toddler, husband and I boarded first because of our child, so we had plenty of time to get comfy on the plane. The flight attendants served sufficient drinks and snacks for the 1 hour flight."
Cons: "Flight was delayed two hours so my toddler and I had significantly longer to wait, which is not too fun. However, I understand this is unavoidable sometimes."
Pros: "Once the flight left it was fine"
Cons: "Flight was late, gate was moved and no compensation"
Pros: "Boarding process."
Cons: "NA"
Pros: "Nothing positive to say"
Cons: "Originating flight was delayed, so missed connection in Montreal and had to be rerouted. After going through 5 airports to reach our final destination, we finally made it - without our luggage!!! To make matters worse, the complete and extreme lack of empathy on behalf of Air Canada's customer service desk was less than appreciated by us.... As it turns out, Air Canada was aware all along that we would miss our connection; however, they still had us board our originating flight. The gate agent should have been conscientious and informed us that the delay was ongoing with our flight being number 22+ on the tarmac to take off, thus guaranteeing our missed connection. They should have rebooked us on another flight from our original destination vs rebooking us upon arrival in Montreal to miss further connecting flights. Very disappointed!!!!! Based on this experience alone, never again will I or my family travel Air Canada."
Pros: "One of the most spacious flight experiences I've ever had, enough room to stretch out for my 6 foot self. My checked luggage arrived safe and sound when I landed in Vancouver."
Cons: "On my 5 hour flight from Toronto the air Canada rouge website wouldn't work on my laptop despite troubleshooting many times. I was connected to the wifi... but didn't gain access to the website. I would've liked to eat on the plane but having to pay $7+ for a sandwich alone isn't something I'm interested in. It would be nice to at least get a free snack while flying across Canada. Oh well, I guess I'll starve."
Pros: "Great gluten free meal. Calling ahead of time to order was well worth it."
Cons: "We got delayed, but this was not the fault of the airline. My bags were put on the wrong flight as well"
Pros: "Clean well maintained aircraft, friendly staff"
Cons: "Not even SNACKS are free anymore on Air Canada!"
Pros: "The plane was really comfy and the service on board was outstanding"
Cons: "Flight was delayed by 10 minutes but had to wait 45 minutes on the plane before take off. Quite stressful and tiring!"
Pros: "I brace myself every time I fly Air Canada. Things often go wrong or are frustrating in some way. So I prepare myself mentally. Although there was a takeoff delay and the boarding procedure was confusing, this flight went fairly smoothly, compared to other fiascos I have had with Air Canada."
Cons: "Air Canada has an opportunity to be excellent and they keep hanging on to mediocrity. I think it is either a corporate culture that does not see things from the customer perspective, or a morale problem that shows up as ground staff who do not want to be there. Also, Terminal 1 is a hassle. You check in at the kiosk, only to have to line up for 30 min. to drop your bag off. If I could, I would only fly WestJet."
Pros: "Nothing! Unpleasant unhelpful crew at gate, no better onboard, absolutely moist cramped seating ever! Disorganized and late- boarding, departing, waited to disembark at arrival, 25 min before first bag off baggage......dreadful no one cares"
Cons: "Thank you for choosing Air Canada- smiles and goodbyes- where's all that Before you leave? They treat you like problem cattle to be dealt with, you're anonymous and valueless until you leave then they look at you and thank you?! Missing sincerity And service!"
Pros: "You fly a beautiful plane, the Boeing 787. Excellent entertainment, more comfortable seats, and just about everything on this plain was upgraded. It is a case study of how to do things right. The most impactful for me was air humidity. It was refreshing to fly and not feel like I've been in the Sahara desert at high noon. So, your starting point is really high, but you really need to look at your service."
Cons: "our flight was 40 minutes late in departing TLV. My connection in Toronto then was changed to a later flight, which was then delayed too by 50 minutes. all in all a 14 hour flight with connection ended up being close to 18 hours. My biggest two complaints about the flight itself is the food & the toilets. Your meals are the worst I've had in a major airline, and you should not serve customer frozen of close to frozen bread or sandwiches. If you are serving rolls, sandwiches or pitas, or bagels heat them up first. El-Al has been doing it for decades, go look at how they do it. But besides the bread/sandwiches issue, your meals are a really bad version of frozen supermarket meals. Just terrible all round. The other complaint is the bathroom. It was not cleaned frequently enough."
Cons: "There was no wifi available on the flight from Montreal to Vancouver."
Pros: "The bad stuff overshadowed the good stuff. Bad experience."
Cons: "We took off late and never made up for the time lost which resulted in me missing my connection in Denver. Had to be rerouted to Toronto that night and spent night in hotel. Next day, we took off late and that resulted in me missing my connection in Denver... It took me two days instead of one to travel to my last destination. Not happy with Air Canada, three out four flights took off late. I also almost missed my flight in Montreal to go to Paris if it was not for the friendly and helpful Canadian Customs people."
Pros: "The crew were terrific, business class splendid, information readily available but not incessant."
Cons: "We left 90 minutes late: 30 minutes because Air Canada arrived in Shanghai late, then another hour because we'd missed our window. As a result, I missed my connection and had to spend the night in an airport hotel in Montreal (which Air Canada paid for). These things happen, and they were very professional and sympathetic about it, but under the circumstances I can't give it more than 3 stars overall."
Pros: "Both my first and connecting flights were delayed despite excellent weather. No explanation was offered."
Cons: "First flight was canceled, they did not get me on a flight till 4 pm the next day! Not to mention the two French Canadians I talked to were extremely rude. Finally the 3rd customer service women tried to get me home sooner but was unable to!! Have flown for years on air Canada without issues but this last trip was such an inconvenience I will not being flying with them agin!! They also did not cover my hotel or the taxi costs associated with me having my flight canceled, not even a discount!!!!!"
Pros: "Roomy seats Clean"
Cons: "It got a bit warm"
Cons: "No entertainment. Couples cannot sit together."
Pros: "On time and quick and simple"
Pros: "It was on time and they served drinks."
Pros: "Free beer, one flight attendant"
Cons: "Crew was rude and didn't care much"
Pros: "The price for a round trip flight Philadelphia to Barcelona was fantastic. Unfortunately, this was a case of you getting what you pay for. Both my husband and I were very unhappy with the entire experience."
Cons: "Airplanes were very uncomfortable, flight crew was unfriendly (smiles were scarce and you felt you annoyed them if you wanted anything), service took too long (perhaps not enough personnel for number of passengers), plane was extremely warm, food was only fair -- all other international flights I've taken have had much better food and comforts). We had long layover on return flight in Toronto and airport and Air Canada personnel were not very helpful or accommodating. When we asked for a suggestion on where we could go in the airport to kill several hours (eating, drinking, watching TV), were were told by many that the airport is bad and we're given conflicting or poor answers. Intimately the advice given put us having to go thru security and Custims again (even though we already had) and that process was extremely disorganized and time consuming."
Cons: "Seating - I had to ask for a different seat as I am a tall large man who does not like to sit in the middle. Seating was changed upon request."
Pros: "I really like how friendly the flight staff was. The women and men were always smiling and courteous! They loaded the plane quickly and easily all while being helpful and smiling. On my flight from Moncton to Montreal I needed several vomit bags just in case some of my cousins wedding drinks wanted to come up. The stewardess quickly grabbed several for me and was very kind. Luckily nothing came up and I felt great at the end of the flight!"
Cons: "I don't fly as often as used to, but I've noticed that flight services have definitely gone down hill. Flying Air Canada was refreshing, so I don't have anything negative to say except I really wish I'd won tickets for my family and I back to Canada on Air Canada, hahaha!"
Pros: "Food was not included in a 5 1/2 hour flight. Which it should be."
Pros: "Staff were friendly. My son got to say hello to the pilot as we boarded. It was a smooth flight."
Cons: "It would be nice if there were some vegetarian options for food on the plane. Even a cheese and tomato sandwich would. D good."
Pros: "the flight attendant was VERY friendly and helpful. we had her on another flight as well and were very impressed."
Cons: "the flight was delayed, and there was so much confusion as to the departure gate at the airport. it kept switching and airline reps were not helpful or friendly on the matter. it was a huge mess"
Pros: "Transatlantic flight with charge for a beer? No free entertainment, not even audio? $10 for iPad rentals? Macaroni & Cheese as main dish?"
Pros: "Return flight -staff were friendly, more spaceous"
Cons: "Arrive flight to Punta cana -staff could be more corteous and friendly"
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "No air conditioning made it uncomfortable"
Cons: "The customer service when our flight to Boston (connection) was atrotious. I will never fly Air Canada again"
Pros: "The crew was excellent with helping everyone and answering peoples questions."
Cons: "I had a 2 year old with me and boarded early. The flight was already delayed and more delays after everyone was aboard due to cargo not being on. I found this shocking for a red eye flight. This caused me to miss my connecting flight and having to wait 4 hours for the next flight with a 2 year old. our TV's seemed to skip even after they rebooted them so I wasn't even able to enjoy a movie or play any games."
Pros: "All of our luggage arrived at our destination in a timely manner. Staff was helpful."
Cons: "Checking in our suitcase took exceptionally long."
Pros: "It was okay."
Cons: "No food. Pretzels or cookies."
Cons: "Flight attendant was awful My seat assignment was the same seat designated to crew and my flight attendant treated badly inspite of the error"
Pros: "Great crew and service. Seats were comfortable for tall people."
Cons: "Delays for both international flights. Food made us sick."
Cons: "Terrible attitude to a customer (not me). I asked for a US custom form and it took them an hour and two people to do that."
Pros: "there was in flight entertainment, had power outlets, and usb ports in each head rest"
Cons: "snack option was lackluster"
Pros: "The fact that I could charge my i phone..."
Cons: "The lax attitude to service and customer satisfaction there was a problem with the entertainment system, took over an hour to get attention... But no positive resolution..."
Pros: "Loved the great GPS display."
Cons: "Delayed 20 minutes"
Pros: "That this flight had entertain system that was on broad. Did not have to down load or use your horrible app."
Cons: "You should provide food or snacks for flights over 2hours with no charge. We were only offered a drink. Some people do not carry credit cards to purchase items."
Pros: "Great valve"
Cons: "Delay in boarding by about 20 minutes. Had to stand in line for about 1 hour because we were not allowed in the terminal seating area until the previous plane's passengers disembarked."
