FAQs - booking Colombia flights

  • Which airport in Colombia should I fly to?

The airports are spread throughout Colombia, so you can set your airport based on your travel itinerary. If you are planning a beach holiday, Cartagena (CTG) is a good choice for both the proximity to the coast and its affordable flight options. If you plan to visit the mountains and national parks, Bogota (BOG) is the more centrally located airport to fly into and often has lower fares. All airports are well-connected through domestic flights, making it easy to get to your destination.

  • Can I fly nonstop from Montreal to Colombia?

There are some nonstop flights from Montreal to certain airports in Colombia. On Air Transat, you can fly directly into Cartagena (CTG). If you fly with Air Canada, you can fly nonstop into Bogotá (BOG). Flights arriving in other cities, like Cali (CLO), Medellin (MDE), and Barranquilla (BAQ) are likely to have one or more stops.

  • Do I need any special documents for my flight to Colombia?

Canadian citizens can enter without a visa when visiting for tourism for up to 90 days. All air passengers must also complete a Check Mig form, an online document needed at immigration. This application can be done online and is usually processed in 24 - 48 hours. In addition, as with all international travel, a valid passport is required.

  • How can I make my flight from Montreal to Colombia more sustainable?

In general, flying directly emits less CO2, so choosing a nonstop flight or one with the least amount of stops would be the most eco-friendly choice. In addition, you can help contribute to the environmental initiatives of the airline you fly with. With Air Canada’s partnership with CHOOSE, you can calculate the carbon footprint of your flight and then donate to help offset the emissions.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Montreal to Colombia?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Montreal to Colombia.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Montreal to Colombia?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to Colombia from Montreal is likely to change within 7 days, so travellers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Montreal to Colombia?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to Colombia with an airline and back to Montreal with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Montreal to Colombia?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to Colombia from Montreal up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

As usual, the flight with normal legroom was not very comfortable, but the second flight was much better because we had paid for extra legroom. It was very nice to check our bags without an extra fee.

I liked the friendliness of the crew and comfortable flight. All good.

Cons: "Copa is trash . Doesn’t accolade passengers with hotels . They except people to wait in the airport for 14 hrs lay over when it’s their fault ! Straight trash . Poor 79 year old lady had to stay at the airport cause her family was 4 hours away ! Trash trash"
Pros: "No drink because didn’t open de bottle. No one care about it."
Pros: "Profesional, on time and quality service. A tremendous difference to the US Carriers. A+ based on price, service and amenities"
Pros: "nice crew."
Cons: "seats were too small and uncomfortable, not possible to lean back much because of a tall passenger behind me. international flights should have better seats."
Pros: "Food was good"
Cons: "Different movie, more leg room but I'm tall so that is with any plane."
Pros: "Shout out to Ricardo as my new favorite flight attendant."
Cons: "Zero entertainment which seems like should be standard these days"
Pros: "Crew was amazing comfort was horrible. My seat was un front of emergency exit and could recline, I was traveling with children"
Cons: "Better seats"

I was pleasantly surprised. I booked the "club class" which was basically like Domestic First Class. The service was superior. Food was pretty good. Seats and cabin were comfortable. For the price I paid, I was very pleased.

Super unproffesional flight . Flight attendants were unproffesional. I could hear them gossiping about theor boyfriends the whole trip

The connecting flight lay over was 4.00 hours, the gate agent booked me on the next flight which was about to depart at no extra cost.

The ticket price was reasonable, food was okay, not the best. I would use the service again.

Actually the flight was on time. New plane, food was okay but not great.

Old plane, hard seats, 1.30 hours delay, while seating on the plane waiting for departure.

Great boarding. Everything was on time. Plane was a bit old and the crew could have provided better drink service.

Boarding was a little chaotic but it was a very large flight. It just wasn’t fast. And there was no noticeable difference between zones boarding.

Crew was pleasant. Aircraft was very dated and uncomfortable for our nearly 4 hour flight. We were in row 17 and they ran out of purchasable food by the time they got to us.

We were lucky enough to arrive at the right time. The staff at YYZ did our complete check in and luggage tags for us. Even made sure we knew where we were to head next and how to get there. It truly was one of the best and easiest check inside. Thanks team.

The personal at the front desk in Manaos was awesome, I have never experience anything like that before, the person who attended me deserves to have a promotion I still remember him, very educated, kind but overall he could put himself on your position

More than 3 hours of delay and not even a snack was given.

GOL made the flight experience a true delight. Everything was smooth, from the check in process, to the disembarking moment.

There was absolutely no food or drink service unless it was paid for. I am not used to this.

No complimentary food and beverage (water, soda, coffe) is offered for a six and a half hours long international flight, not even in premium economy, just to try to squeeze a few more dollars out of the passengers. First and last time flying with Avianca.

No complimentary food and beverage (water, soda, coffe) is offered for a six and a half hours long international flight, not even in premium economy, just to try to squeeze a few more dollars out of the passengers. Same happened in the connecting flight, which was three and a half hours long (Bogota x Miami). First and last time flying with Avianca.

No complimentary snacks food, beverage (not even water), pillow and blanket on a 6 hours long flight (including economy comfort). A low form of nickeling an diming. Lost a recurring passanger over a soda. Avianca never again.

Every food and beverage has to be paid and the seat was not confortable. They even gave water.

Flight departure late. Got late in Colombia making us take a different flight next day. Avianca airport crew messed up my ticket so when a I got in Brazil I didn’t have a ticket for my destination. Had to buy a new ticket out of my pocket.

Avianca: you pay for a high-end flight and you fly like a low (very low) cost!

Crew was very respectful and ready to serve. Much better than before.

Flight was delayed, I had to put my luggage all the way in the back! They served only a beverage no snack on the way in Air Canada, definitely not a good first impression.

It was an enjoyable flight. I guess the airlines will never go back to catering, they save so much money.

Lovely staff for a short flight! Complimentary wine too made me happy.

5 delays to departure. Finally left 2 hours after scheduled time. Further issues with “paperwork” when we were ready to push away from the gate. Air Canada has a real problem with flights between Montreal and Toronto over the last 24 months. Of my 12 flights, 8 have been delayed or cancelled. With no compensation. I now drive between Toronto and Montreal whenever I can. At least I know I will get there when I planned to.

When we got to the airport for our flight from Chicago to Montreal which was scheduled for 2.00 p.m. they had no record of it and booked us on a flight at 3.30 very disappointing . We also had to pay 50.00 each for a seat. All things considered ,I will never book thru Kayak again. Next time I will only book directly thru Air Canada no second party booking Sue

Terrible crew. Mediocre food. Terrible headphones. No Bluetooth connection for entertainment. Crying babies. Horrible experience.

I am 6'0 and almost no leg room. I am also not a small person, but this was the first time I had a issue with the seat belt. I feel like they should be made a tad bit bigger.

Difficile quand le gate change, les deux fois. Quand on m'a changé les sièges que j' ai réservé, les deux fois. On m'a dit que j'allais être remboursé et rien eu encore

Air Canada continues to disappoint in almost every way. Probably the result of a monopoly, so NO need to improve anything

I paid extra for a comfortable seat in the second flight, but the plane didn't have those seats, the first one did

The Arajet person who greeted us initially was unhelpful & rude about the mandatory migration form which has to be completed digitally but the systems don’t work properly. The boarding gate was changed twice and initial boarding was delayed. Once on board we we had to wait an hour and a half before take off. It was hot and there was very little room for tall-ish people to fit their knees in. The crew were pleasant but working in a poor situation. The plane was delayed because we were waiting for people from a delayed interconnecting flight. Arajet must have known that before we were asked to board. Better information, decisions & communication were needed.

My seat was broken and the crew had to find me somewhere else to sit. The crew was extremely courteous about this
