FAQs - booking Saint Lucia flights

  • What documentation do I need in order to fly to Saint Lucia?

When you are travelling with a regular Canadian passport, your passport must be valid at the time that you enter Saint Lucia and it must remain valid for a minimum of three months after the date you intend to leave Saint Lucia. If you intend to leave Saint Lucia within 42 days, you do not need a visa.

  • Does either Canadian airport have an exclusive lounge where I can wait, even if I have any economy ticket?

Yes. Toronto Pearson (YYZ) has exclusive lounges that you can enter within an economy ticket, although you must pay a fee or purchase a lounge pass. For example, the Plaza Premium Lounge, with a location in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, is accessible to any ticket holder if you pay at the door.

  • Can I fly from UVF to other Caribbean islands?

Yes. From UVF, you can catch a British Airways flight to Granada, Trinidad, and Tobago. For flights to other Caribbean islands, you'll most likely have to depart from The George F.L. Charles Airport (SLU), a smaller airport on the northern end of the island which handles inter-Caribbean flights.

  • Can I fly from the Toronto Islands Airport to Saint Lucia?

Yes. Several flights depart from the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ), located on the Toronto Islands. For example, Porter Airlines combines with JetBlue to offer a flight from Toronto (YTZ) to Saint Lucia (UVF) that stops in Boston and New York City.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Toronto to Saint Lucia?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Toronto to Saint Lucia.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Toronto to Saint Lucia?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to Saint Lucia from Toronto is likely to change within 7 days, so travellers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Toronto to Saint Lucia?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to Saint Lucia with an airline and back to Toronto with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Toronto to Saint Lucia?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to Saint Lucia from Toronto up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Top tips for finding cheap flights to Saint Lucia

  • Morning departure is around 21% cheaper than an evening flight, on average*.
  • Cheap flights from Toronto to Saint Lucia usually depart from the Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Toronto's primary Airport. Located just beyond the western border of the city, YYZ is a hub for Air Canada, Sunwing Airlines, WestJet, Air Transat, Porter Airlines, and others.
  • When you book a cheap airline ticket through KAYAK from Toronto to Saint Lucia, you'll probably be landing at the Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). UVF handles the International airplane traffic for all of Saint Lucia. Airlines such as Air Canada, Sunwing Airlines, WestJet, and others operate service through Hewanorra, an airport located at the southern end of the island on the Cape.
  • When you book a cheap airline ticket from Toronto to Saint Lucia, you will sometimes find that your flight requires you to change airports at a layover city. For example, you might have to change airports in New York City from Newark (EWR) to JFK. Before you decide to buy a ticket like this, map out exactly how you will make the journey from one airport to the other. Then, make sure your itinerary leaves you enough time to make the trip and that you have sufficient American money to pay for public transportation.
  • If you are a nursing mother travelling with an infant, you can take advantage of the freestanding Mamava lockable nursing units that are installed throughout Toronto Pearson (YYZ). Each fiberglass cabin provides seating, a table area, a USB port, and an electrical outlet. Other features include a coat hook, mirror, and exhaust fan.
  • As you wait for your flight to Saint Lucia in Departures at Toronto Pearson (YYZ), you might get a chance to interact with the airport’s therapy dogs. Teams of St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs and their handlers roam Departures hoping to offer distraction, delight, or comfort to passengers waiting to fly.

Great flight, comfort, and staff. Prefer tv in back of seat but watching on phone will do

Pros: "Friendly staff and the support they offered to my mother who needed a wheelchair."
Cons: "I would have liked to have had WestJet internet and entertainment access. It was not offered on our flight from Toronto to Fredericton."
Pros: "The fact that military personnel and retired military personnel and their spouse can check in luggage for free. The check in crew was also very courteous."
Pros: "It ran on time. The pilot landed the plane without a big jolt. We could board and deplane using 2 exits."
Cons: "Seat space"
Pros: "Rotten stuff cancels out the good doesn't it. Be great if you could take some courses from Stephen Covey as you are missing some skills sets in hospitality. And stop being so cheap with the 3rd rate old old movies!"
Cons: "I did not appreciate having the second row to the last on my 2nd plane coming back - I only had a turn around time of 20 minutes to catch my third Westjet flight. When we asked if the plane would wait for us - your crew just laughed in our faces."
Pros: "Great, friendly crew in this scenic trip across to Victoria. Nice new aircraft operating this route."
Pros: "Cheerfulness of WestJet employees."
Cons: "Seat comfort; seats hard. Person next to me average size but still spilled into my seat with “man-spreading” and shoulders."
Pros: "Efficient crew and reasonable seating"
Cons: "Need more legroom or a device to fold passenger legs for the flight duration..."
Pros: "Crew was good. Seats need to be updated and are confining. I appreciated being able to disembark through front and rear door."
Cons: "More space between the seats."
Pros: "the crew was very polite but the flight was too short to have a meal"
Cons: "delayed embarking"

Nice smooth flight with pleasant stewards. Slept most of the flight, they could have slowly turned on the lights to make it more pleasant. Otherwise a good trip.

Great! No food was available during the flight due to the catering service strike but snacks were given throughout the flight which was nice.

I wish that seats closer to the front of the plan were available, but when I booked the flight the seats were VERY expensive so I did not book seats at that time. The day before flying only seats at the back of the plane were available. It takes so long to board the plane and empty the plane on arrival due to SO many roller bags.

Crew was rude.didn’t even say hi or welcome to board

Nothing special. Unacceptable wait for baggage on arriving in Calgary

Departure delay on a late night flight. Made us even later. Tired but got home.

Westjet forced me to put my carry-on baggage in check-in probably because I was assigned seat 23A (the last row seat), which had no cabin space, which is unfair. I wanted to carry on my luggage so that I don't have to wait at the airport for my luggage. Also, because there was no cabin space, I was forced to keep my laptop bag under the seat, which I didn't want to as I was carrying 2 laptops and charger. The airline should basically tell people that if you are assigned a last row seat, then you are not allowed a cabin baggage or a personal item.

Easy processing, flight time was quick and staff was professional and kind.

It was delayed by two ours very full no room to move

They seem to have squeezed out a little more legroom in these planes! It was very nice to not have to fold in half to fit in the seats!

It was awful. For a 37 minute flight time,we had 1:30 hours delay. If someone had a connection flight he or she couldn’t reach for sure. The only positive point was online check in.

Limited snack options cause the snack vendor was on strike

The 6 hour delay with minimal updates was not handled well. After many complaints from most of the un-boarded passengers, food vouchers were offered. The catering strike meant there was no food or snacks on the plane. Beverage service was heavily impacted, only water or juice was available. The staff at the gate was kind enough to inform that "if you want to eat on the plane, you will need to bring it on when boarding".

It was an excellent experience, traveling from Toronto to Denver with United.

Ontime boarding. Almost 1 hour take off delay. We could have boarded slightly later since the pilots were in traffic

I go am isle seat because it was half empty Food strike no food available

Flight was delayed, jeopardizing the following connections. Food was terrible. Crew was great.

This was the first AC flight in a long time that we experienced no delays or frustrations. The gate attendant was extremely polite and accommodating to my husband who has Parkinson’s disease which made boarding extremely stress free. Flight departed ON TIME and was a smooth ride. If only all my AC experiences could be like this.

Great experience on this Air Canada flight. Everyone was polite and respectful, even the passengers are very polite.

My wife and I especially liked the fact that the Toronto agent went beyond expectation to allow my wife and I to sit together. There was no option for us when we booked our seats. Very thankful!

They allowed some guy to move seats after 3hours of him being next to someone very sick, There were several empty seats, but they moved him to mine. I find that incredibly inconsiderate and should not have been done.

Excellent! Great flight attendants, good food (in business class, at least), very comfortable. Touchscreen and remote wasn’t great.

Terrible. Flight was 3 hours delayed and I missed my other flight to my final destination

Entertainment catalog certainly needs an upgrade to include better and latest content. Food was not good at all - they need to cook something edible. Five starts to the crew and on tim performance of British airways though!!

All was good. The headphones they supply are of poor quality. The food is good but too much dairy.

I asleep by the gate and actually didn't get to the airplane.

Asked for a wheelchair multiple times. Got denied the wheelchair in London layover.

Everything was fine except my screen wasn’t working and I was unable to watch any movies or TV. Staff tried 3 times to reboot it, without success.

Terrible seats. Cabin crew were the only good part of my BA experience.

Too many passengers are bringing two large bags, neither fit under the seat so space is limited and the crew ask for many people to check bags

It's good value for the price. Snacks are available for a price but there is no meal. The flight was aboutr 40 mn late leaving, and the gate was not ready for the plaine in Ottawa. That took an extra 15 mn once landed. You can use the express NEXUS line at Customs in Ottawa if you have a NEXUS card. I thought it was worth paying an extra $50 for extra leg room on the flight.

Good flight and all but airlines are now moving away from providing anything as part of the flight which was previously included, ie in flight entertainment service or snacks.

The real problem with Sunwing is that they are totally undependable. Plane was supposed to heave at 8:20 pm from Varadero to Toronto. Instead because of delays on their part, finally left at 2:30 AM Same thing happened a few days back to my family whereby they were delayed one full day. Throughout the process, no one told them anything. They found out by accident from another passenger after waiting a few hours in the hotel all for nothing Same thing happened with my daughter and husband last year with delays which caused them to miss two days of s much needed 7 days break to Aruba No matter what the cost, I will nit fly Sunwing again and also encourage friends and values to never fly this hihh highly problematic airline

Edreams did not pay the airline and I had to buy another ticket to be able to travel and they still have not refunded my money

Why do I have to pay $20 to leave the airport? Why do I have to pay $25 for the carry on? This was my worst travelling experiences ever. This was my second time and my last time

Minimal service (no entertainment or snack) as advertised, so be prepared. Very friendly flight crew and staff. Excellent service all around

Most standard features are now to be paid as extra

I bought a 1-way ticket from Punta Cana home to Canada, surprise, when I got to the lineup at the airport Sunwing charges a 20 USD airport tax separately. I was told I should have known, though it is the only airline in the terminal that charges it (separately, USD only, no cards or local currency accepted). ATMs at the airport out of service, nowhere to purchase USD on-site. Local banks do not sell you USD if you don't have an account with them... Eventually I found a taxi driver to buy the currency from. Luckily I speak Spanish and am comfortable in the country on my own. I was able to find a solution as the Nexus greeter for Sunwing offered no help. Other Sunwing team members and flight crew I met later were much more helpful when I could not complete self-check-in (flying with carry-on only) as all the seats were locked and apparently could only be assigned at the desk (despite the greeter telling me to use the self-check-in).

Due to the onboard check on system malfunction, we were getting conflicting messages about the flight status. Found it very interesting that kayak gave us updates before the Sunwing app or representatives did.

Was not allowed to board because my KAYAK purchased ticket was declined / invalidated. DO NOT USE KAYAK.
