If you didn’t make that flight (evening), you’d be confirmed on a flight the following morning with one stop in Detroit (we booked a nonstop to Chicago). Uh, no thanks. Then to top it off, we’ve landed and been told that it will be at least an hour before we can deplane due to no availability at the gate (it’s 1145 pm right now). All this plus their new policy of not allowing us to select our seats because we bought the cheapest tickets. Really Delta? You go ahead and cater to the rich and I’ll choose to fly with another airline."

Cons: "I could see on the Fly Delta app that I had been placed in seat 10B, but neither the app nor my boarding pass gave me a group to board with, so I assumed that I needed to board with group 3, which necessitated gate-checking my rollerboard bag. Only when I approached the gate to board did I notice on the info screen that I had been "upgraded" to Comfort + and granted boarding with the Sky Priority group. I wish this had been clearer so I could have avoided waiting to board and gate-checking my bag. Minor inconvenience but room for improvement on Delta's part."
Pros: "This was not my original transfer flight but everyone was much nicer and helpful than serious and being rude. Love Delta, I did not flight United because I wouldn’t have met my United flight once landing in ATL. The Young African American woman who was at the gate was amazing and so reassuring that I would make my flight to Chicago. Would book Delta, just because of how nice she was to me."

The cabin personnel were wonderful as per usual, and my tasty gin and tonic soothed any discontent. I wish I could fly this way all the time!"
Cons: "The private contractor handling wheelchair assistance was terrible. A Delta employee theorized that they do not pay enough to attract and retain personnel. Our pre-arranged chair was not there, multiple calls by our Delta assistant finally got us a ride to the chair holding area, but after about 45 minutes we gave up and shuffled off to the security area on foot. Thank goodness my hubby is mobile enough for that to have been an option. When we abandoned our wait we were still 4th in line for an attendant to push the chair. If Delta has any responsibility in this it would be in the retention and compensation for the private contractor."

So, they put on the next flight... 6 hours later. Said I could fly without the bag... uh, no thanks. They would not look for alternatives without charging me more. Flight attendants were crabby, otherwise everything was fine. I flew British Airways a few months ago. Night and day. Seriously. Delta does not even approach having good service. There was no comparison to British Air--- Delta is not in the same league."

There was minimal Air France staff on duty serving thousands of passengers during busy season (July). While the lines grew larger, the staff was reduced from 4 to 2. Another long, slow line for customs, another long slow line for security=Charles De Gaulle airport was awful. We arrived at the airport 4 hours before our departure time and got to our boarding gate with no time to spare."

Cons: "Delayed for over 2 hours. I have never flown Delta before this flight and it wasn't a great representation. The flight attendants were nice but I was in a seat near the engine and it was making really weird noises. I fly almost every two weeks, so I'm used to engine noises but this was one of the loudest/most rickety sounding flights I have ever been on.. and I have flown Spirit a few times. It just didn't feel safe. Landing scared me a little too as I have landed in O'Hare countless times and have never flown so low to the highway upon entry. It felt like we were only a couple hundred feet above the cars."

When we got to the line to board the plane, we waited another hour before we were told to get on a bus to take us to our plane. Our plan left 45 minutes later than expected, but the airport never communicated any details about a delay. We rushed to wait in line instead of having time to get things at the airport or sit."

If you don’t have enough seating available don’t sell a ticket that you know doesn’t exist. It’s not the first time it happens with Aeromexico, their airline is HORRIBLE & I didn’t expect with my first experience with Kayak to be just as bad. I didn't know which gate was flight was leaving from until after boarding the scheduled boarding time. When family in the States tried to get updates about the delays, the customer service rep gave incorrect information. I'm not sure that I'll be flying Aeromexico again."
Cons: "Flew from Mexico City to Chicago, the fight itself was fine, the problem was that my luggage was emptied! Everything I had was taken out of my luggage, this had to happen during check in the Mexico airport. I have tried contacting Aeromexico by phone multiple times and no one has been able to help, I finally spoke with a representative who advised to email email@example.com and to wait 72 hrs, have done this twice with no response. This is going on two weeks now and have not been able to resolve my issue!"

I have never experienced such a ridiculous situation. What is worse, the airline was completely obsolete in helping me resolve the issue."

Cons: "Connections to US destinations now require your checked in baggage to be processed before you can proceed to your connecting flights. The real problem is that this is no sign or communications describing this. Everyone is simply stopped in the corridor and told that they cannot proceed farther until their name comes up green on a monitor. Unfortunately the monitor switches displays so frequently that it is almost impossible to read. In addition to that it seems names do not always appear on the monitor unless you get your boarding pass scanned a the desk (this is not communicated to you unless you ask why your name is not on the monitor at all). People late for connecting flights (because of inbound flight delays) are required to wait without explanation sometimes needlessly if they don't have a checked bag. A nightmare if you're trying to make your connection. In addition once you've cleared that hurdle you need to go through security again (something we were unprepared for since we were already in the secure area. You then proceed to customs and then your connecting flight (if you haven't already missed it by then). Allow lots of time to get to your connecting flight, and ask to get you boarding pass scanned at that mysterious "checked bag" stop in the corridor."

Cons: "I arrived at the gate and looked at my ticket to see "GTE" where the seat number usually is. I was informed upon arriving at the desk at the gate that that meant Air Canada has also decided to participate in the ridiculous practice of overbooking their flights and that even though I purchased my ticket roughly 8 weeks prior, there was a chance I might miss my flight to my friend's WEDDING. The lady who was working the desk was as unhelpful and dismissive as you could possibly imagine, refusing to look at me and giving me attitude for merely waiting in the area to see if anyone had missed the flight so I could get on. It was surreal; the only way I could describe her incomprehensible behavior would be to say it was as if her boss were right in front of her and she was trying her damnedest to get fired. It was one of those situations where you could tell this miserable, miserable person was enjoying the power trip she was on and doing everything in her power to make me feel helpless and angry. I made my flight, miraculously, but it was the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life, airport or not."

C my flight was boarding. Staff could care or less and walked away. I had to run to my gate and almost miss my flight. Also, I was told that 1st checked bag was complimentary as this is a express aircraft. Staff wouldn't honor that. Come to find out as I entered the aircraft that they made many passengers do the complimentary gate check anyway. Rude and unaccompdating staff."

I was with about 100 people at a summer camp. The staff created a funny skit about AC, Dynamex (sp?) and the endless "your call is important to us" tape recording. I understand that flight plans must be canceled and changed due to weather, but AC relies too heavily on automated "service.""

Than did not have inventory in Chicago to out up in hotel had to pay out of my pocket and to this day can't get hold of customer service to get claim resolved. Sent through email and nothing. Even went down to my airport in Phoenix to speak and no help. Also lost bag as well. Which later found by united not air Canada. Unbelievable"
Cons: "My trip was suppose to have two stops from Saint John to Louisville (one in Toronto and one in Chicago) but instead it ended up being a one stop flight from Saint John to Toronto to Cincinnati because I had to change my whole itinerary due to delays in air canada flights that caused me to miss my other connections. This made me to fly into an entirely different city and have my reception drive to get me for the only other option I was told by an air Canada representative was to take the delayed flight and miss my last connection and overnight Chicago (one of my original connections) and then fly to Louisville the next morning. This was not something I planned on doing and didn't have the time to do so had to find an alternative arrangement to get me close to where I needed to be. The first flight I was on from Saint John to Toronto was also delayed causing the flight to be late upon arrival at the Toronto airport. Not only that but then had to wait in line at the customs center for over an hour for only one customs officer was there to clear over 100+ passengers. Even if my other flights were on time I would have missed them due to the delays all around. Over all I was very displeased with how the day progressed, how I wasn't given much help from the air canada representatives at the airport other than them saying "there's nothing we can do" and for how the day continued to get worse with delays and problems all linked to air Canada."
Cons: "the gate changed FOUR times and passengers were never notified as there were no crew at the gate. The flight was delayed by two hours. there was no in-flight entertainment on board as it wasn't working. upon landing, we were forced to stay in the plane for an extra 30 minutes because the gate and crew were not ready. I was NOT impressed by this flight and am very upset with how things went. I expected better of AC and will not be flying again with them."
Cons: "AC373 on 07/23/16 - need I say more? Having an airline background and now the HR mgr of a very large hotel chain, I understand many things that are out of a companies control, ie: weather etc, but....never have I witnessed airline staff YELLING at passengers "it's not our fault and the agents need to leave so they don't go into overtime?" Yes, some passengers were difficult, but it's part of the industry. If you can't handle w/care and service - don't choose as a profession. Very unimpressed with AC's customer service, guest recovery - they made it seem like it was more of an inconvenience for them. Can't imagine "choosing" to fly AC again!"

Pros: "cruising slightly high to avoid turbulence, the way from Toronto to Winnipeg we were flying on altitude 26,000 and then 30,000 feet. on west jet we were flying on altitude 39,000 feet with less turbulence. thanks"
Cons: "There was some dripping from the ceiling on those of us in the back of the plane. It might have been condensation from the air conditioning or air flow nozzles. In the groove of the ceiling immediately over the seats there seemed to be some dirt or mold."
Pros: "I sat with my husband by the window."
Cons: "First the plane had a delay for an hour, then additional two more hours of delay because we had to wait for another plane with passengers had to connect to the flight. Once we were boarded, we waited another hour for more passengers with luggage issues. After the plane took off, I was happy that the crews continued to offer us water, then I found out that there was no meal plan for the flight. I was hungry after all the unexpected wait plus the 4.5 hours flight to Chicago. I feel that the airline could offer passengers a meal after all the unexpected delays."
Cons: "Moving through security and customs in the Toronto airport was incredibly slow, with 4 or 5 checkpoints, all with lines. Staff were polite but there were not enough of them. We almost missed our connecting flight, and our bags apparently did miss it, because they have not yet arrived in Chicago (see previous comments). Air Canada should have seen the problem in terms of timing with the connecting flight and expedited better. Will try to avoid Air Canada in the future, especially if there are connections in Toronto."
Pros: "The pilots always announced when to expect turbulence and apologized ahead of time; turbulence really wasn't that bad either. In-flight entertainment never cut out, though the options were limited."
Cons: "The intercom that the flight attendant used to speak to the passengers was very quiet, so it was hard to hear what he was saying every time. However, the pilots' intercom was very clear."
Cons: "if you get in a que, then the computer goes down , your dead, AC line will be 1.5 hours to get to rebook. then you have 2 day to stay before you can get out. if you decide to go on delta because staying 2 day in hotel is more expensive than buying a new ticket ac will not refund you. Air Canada is the least flexible airline in the world relative to refund."
Pros: "Tv in all seats, individual air controls, the crew was nice and I offered up my bag to go on the checked bags when asked and it was the first one out on the bagged claim"

I was told as I exited my flight that I would not make the connecting flight and I had to spend the night in Toronto. I will never fly Air Canada again"

Cons: "I choosed this very very expensive flight because it was so import to be home in CPH at 9.00 for an important meeting. My flight from Chicago was delayed and nothing was done by the pilots to arrive on time. Despite the delay, I managed to arrive on time to my Connecting flight to CPH - only to realize that I was moved to a later flight. Now I have spent 2.300 USD on a poor flight that do NOT bring me to my destination on time. I am a frequent flyer, and will do everything I can Avoiding United going forward. Never United again"
Pros: "The check in process at LAX was very efficient and smooth. and the crew on the plane was very considerate. And the tv system on some of the planes is very enjoyable."
Cons: "There was a technical issue on the plane so they had us get off and wait hoping they could fix the problem. It turned into a 3 hour wait. They covered a meal for us which was good and gave us $50 off our next flight. But I’m not sure I want to book united again. The lady at the service desk was not very patient (which is understandable since a loy of people had to rebook their connecting flights). But I was smiling at her and just asking how to go about changing our connecting flights and she seemed a little bit ready to get rid of me. And the next plane we got on, one of our tv screens didn’t work. And the connecting flight was delayed also because of a technical problem."

Pros: "I had THE WORST experience with ONE flight attendant leaving Paris CDG, flying to Chicago O’Hare. Flight #9334. On 7/26 @ 11:22am. I am hypoglycemic and the flight attendant skipped my line for food I acknowledged her three times and she ignored me so on the fourth time I raised my voice saying “excuse me ma’am” that seem to have irritated her or rubbed her the wrong way because her response was extremely unprofessional yelling at me and accused me of startling her. She compared my voice to the startle of 911 and caused a scene in front of the majority of the passengers. All I wanted was the food that was available for each passenger because she skipped My row. After talking to another flight attendant who claim to be a manager name Celeste who was wearing a visible name tag along with every other flight attendant except for her, I asked her for the name so I could write up a review she refused to give me her name saying it was against their policy to give up first names even though it’s clearly on everybody’s shirt except hers she removed it or covered it up w/ her apron even though Robert Robert was wearing an apron with his name tag outside of his apron like he should the attendant that gave me problems took off her name tag and covered it with an apron that was a violation of dress code. A simple apology is all I asked for but she refused to apologize and the managers only response was “I can’t make her apologize” Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect on a flight as I am a frequent flyer to Paris on United everybody else and all other flights was extremely helpful and courteous. This woman started ranting and raving about 911 and getting people nervous for no reason. I will be writing a formal letter to the corporate office. I just barely got home and wanted to write this review because it ruined my experience in 9 1/2 hour flight experience. It was also very embarrassing for me and my family, as other customers were bothered by this and had to listen to this. Pros: "Rude gate staff. They were being very condescending in their tone while saying perhaps appropriate information. This occurred starting when one woman got in line. The sign kept changing...her accharine like tone telling her that boarding would begin at 1130 was unnecessary. Communicating with foreign passengers whose flight had been rebooked to this flight was very poor. Instead of asking them for the name of their baby, the gate employee kept asking them for the lap child name! This occurred over and over until finally they asked for the bany's name. The lady who is from Chicago started practically wagging her finger and just saying NO! to bags that might be too large. How she did this was overly rude even when the bag fit in the metal sizer!"

Cons: "To whom it may concern I had booked flight from Casablanca to Chicago via Frankfurt , on May 6th , by Lufthansa, two hours before the flight , at the counter in CMN , they notified me , that the flight , is over booked , and I can’t catch this flight , and they offered me different difficult options, , till the flight boarded , they offered me one of the most inconvenient flights , and reward me some amount , in this case : I missed my flight which accordingly , lose my appointment , and lose my business. I frustrated with this decision at late hours . I asked full consideration of all the difficulty situation and the turbles they put me ."
Pros: "The leg room and comfort in economy, for a 767, were surprisingly good but the quality of screen and entertainment was lacking. The screen on my iPhone is bigger than the screen on the seatback which if compared to other airlines is not up to the mark. The lack of facilities to charge things like ipads or iPhone was disappointing."
Cons: "The seat comfort was good as was the legroom in economy. The crew were friendly and helpful and I found the overall experience good. If Unitied could build on that and just offer power (even usb) and larger screens they would be onto a winner."

Cons: "The plane was outdated, the entertainment was a screen smaller than my phone and had only set movies or shows that played in repeat. Apparently you could download their app and watch other stuff but we weren't informed of that at all while waiting to board which would have been sensible (when there was Wi-Fi access). For a long flight, that would have been nice. They also made a big scene about the bathrooms, apparently us in economy didn't pay enough to use the bathrooms in front of the thin blue curtain that wasn't really closed. It was a bit weird, they're just crappy bathrooms regardless of where they are on the plane."

Pros: "The flight was smooth. Boarding was a bit nerve wracking as a neighboring bin was not closed completely until just before take off."
Cons: "The bathrooms were poorly maintained. There was no toilet paper and there was tons of paper on the floor. I was anxious that a piece of TP was going to be stuck to my shoes when I returned to my seat. The flight crew did clean it up. I'm not a frequent flier, but was taken by surprise that I didn't need to check in before getting to the airport. I was amazed that the airlines take it upon themselves to assign seats. I think that's a poor decision as a mom and her 2 small kids were scattered about the plane. Fortunately, people were willing to shuffle around to allow the mom to sit with her kids."
Pros: "Not much to like on United. The boarding was the best part as the staff were somewhat helpful."

Cons: "There was no entertainment available on this flight. It's a short flight so I don't expect any, however, I continued on to Phoenix that day from Chicago and that is a long flight. I expected free entertainment on that flight, as it was afforded on the flight on the Phoenix to Chicago leg of my flights earlier in the week. The Chicago to Phoenix had entertainment offered but it there was a fee, which I didn't appreciate and did not take part in. I looked around me as much as possible and didn't see anyone else pay for entertainment. Having in flight movies and TV available for feee is a great incentive for flying with United. If these long flights in the future are pay for view, I will not be flying with you when there are alternative carriers who do provide free entertainment. Thank you."
Pros: "Punctual flight and not filled to last seat. Excellent amber beer.option, no extra charge for beer or wine. Crew members were friendly and eager to please. They were happy to supply extra snacks and coffee or water between regular service. Seat reservations were properly done (unlike a flight in June on Etihad)."
Cons: "In boarding, putting groups 3, 4, and 5 in the same line works poorly. Location of electric outlets needs better (i.e. some) documentation; had to ask crew. The heat fluctuated between too warm and too cold; had to put on and take off a fleece every 10-15 minutes. Chicken option for dinner rated spicy, so had to opt for pasta. No Asian options on flight from Japan; sad. So-so movie selection, controlling screen not very easy, screen often too dark. The list of movies in the United Magazine was incomplete and inaccurate. The size limits on carry-on bags and personal items was smaller than other airlines, unnecessarily so for the latter given the size of the space under the seat in front. United is inconveniencing customers without any justification."

Cons: "Policies about ultra economy tickets sucked. I'm certain I was warned multiple times in the fine print about the hazards of buying a cheap ticket. The fact I was forced to spend money to check a bag and given undo stress about whether or not I'd get bumped because you're not allowed advanced check-in or guaranteed seats with basic economy ticket is not right. Seems the price should simply be the cost to guarantee a basic flight (two carry-on's, guaranteed seat assignment, advanced check-in) so folks can opt out and go for a cheaper ticket on another airline that offer a cheaper fare for the above mentioned guaranteed basic flight options. Felt like a bait and switch."

Cons: "Confusion and lack of communication about the extra screening process in the airport right before boarding. No information provided ahead of time, to alert me to arrive at the boarding gate early for the extra screening. After I passed through the extra security screening at the gate in Munich, and then went to the counter to complete the extra passport check and security questions, I was asked to step aside and wait. No one told me why. I had to insist on an explanation to the airline staff, and realized there was a mistake - they thought I had not gone through the extra security screening before going to the passport check counter, but I had. This created extra stress and delay for me, as this took place when boarding had started. Respectfully, I suggest that staff is more communicative."

Cons: "I don't understand the purpose of basic economy. I bought my ticket months ahead of time and paid over $300 for it. Only to find out when it was time to board that I wasn't guaranteed a seat. EVEN THOUGH I BOUGHT A TICKET AND IT WASNT CHEAP. I was put on a waitlist and finally got a ticket after boarding was supposed to be over. I was appalled by the whole thing. Doing away with basic economy or just giving those who buy those tickets the basic rights that should come with an airline ticket should be considered. How can you deny someone a seat if they bought a ticket months ahead of time? What if I wasn't lucky and couldn't get a seat? Wait until the next flight hours later and get put on a waitlist there too? Something needs to change."
Cons: "Leg I was only offered economy. Not plus"
Pros: "The attendents were helpful and nice except in the situation I've listed in dislike. The plane left on time and arrived early and we didn't have to wait 20 minutes for a gate to open up."
Cons: "I chose the back window seat right in front of the restrooms. Crewmember even said it was the worst seat in the house. Although I didn't pay to upgrade, thee were available seats up there. The attendant even said she would ttry to move things around once people were seate without anyone asking. She just knew our row was going to be uncomfortable.. I am tall with big shoulders, the gentleman next to me was large. All that I ask is the attendant come back after all is settled and explain that it wasn't possible to move things around. Although, if there were seats available I should have been offered a different seat. I have flown a lot on different airlines. I've flown on a 15 hour flight overseas. This is BY FAR the most uncomfortable I have EVER been."
Pros: "Not happy. Can't afford such high fees to reschedule flight to see my 82 yo parents. I would have to fly first class to have room for my broken leg now. Doctor won't approve flight since this just happened 3/28/17. But, I can't pay so much more to fly home after surgery....near the holidays. Just makes me sad. I had insurance on 1 flight so i hope i can get 1/2 of my ticket price back. Yup, I messed up the insurance on the 2nd flight. My bad. So I'm out for 1 ticket, and a broken leg and torn ACL and I didn't see my folks. Can you do anything to help me, United? Please? Thanks. Pretty tough week."

Pros: "The experience was bad all around. The flight crew was understanding and sympathetic to the situation but offered no concern."
Cons: "The gate agent was not helpful when my flight was running late and was going to miss my connection in Chicago. 10 mins is not enough time to taxi to the gate unload and get to my next flight. The doors close 10 mins before even if it was the next gate the door would have been shut. Had to reschedule flight for not the same day or the next day but two days later! During flight my inflight drink was evening coffee and tasted old as if it had been sitting for a while. Was sat next to a sick ER nurse who was coughing and sneezing in and around the open cup. I was sick for 8 and half days following the flight."
Cons: "Flights were significanly delayed that resulted in missing connecting flights. During my return trip I ran to make my connecting flight just barely on time and once boarded we sat on the plan for an hour before taking off. Flight to get to Richmond on united was a major problem. I work up with a notification that my flight time had been moved up 2.5 hours ( a problem as I live 2.5 hours away from the airport) I called and they said it was a mistake that I was good to take the origional flight. A few hours later I get a phone call from united asking if I could be at the airport 2.5 hours early. I said unfortunately no because I had already spoken to someone from united and they had reassumed me that the origional flight was still good. She then said if I couldn't make it early it was no problem. So I get to the airport at the origional time after speaking to two different agents who told me this was ok to find the plane delayed and causing me to miss my missed connection."
Pros: "The pilot continued to interrupt our flight home. Watching movies, 4-5 hours his overrides of loud, loud announcement were useless. Trying to take a nap, dark, early evening. We at 29,000 feet, we're ahead of schedule, we are going to arrive 30 minutes early. Then we arrive early sit on the tarmac, because guess what was at our gate; ANOTHER AIRPLANE! All his rushing and interruption were a waste. The ground team had him wait 200 feet away from the gate for another period of time. We arrived three to five minutes early, at 7:30 PM. Very unpleasant flight."
Pros: "The crew was very friendly and efficient. They were extremely helpful with our requests. The entertainment was good, I was able to watch a movie the whole flight home."
Cons: "We were expected to land at 5pm and did not land until 5:20pm. Upon arrival, the line to immigration was ridiculous. The machines were super slow and kept freezing. It took an hour before we could get to the X-ray line. At this point we had already missed the original time of our flight. Luckily the flight was delayed 30 minutes. After going through the x-ray machines we ran to our gate only to find out it had been changed and delayed again. We made it to our flight which was now rescheduled to depart at 7:23pm. After sitting in the plane for 45 minutes we did not depart until 8pm making our landing 2 hours after the original time."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "If nothing else United has been consistent in their late departures and arrivals backed by absolute lies about the reason for delays. Staff says one thing then Pilot says something completely counter. Then the lack of any sort of heartfelt appology adds to the insult. Every flight was overbooked by at least 5 people. Total incompetence. Moreover, United has made profit so obviously more important than client comfort. The seats were similar to a straight back Dining room chair except with your knees in your chest. They even took away the seat back pouch as a smal comfort to place items to be replaced with an 8 inch high mesh that fits nothing larger than your cell phone. A 6 hour flight and 1 drink service with 1/2 glass of soda. Pay $7.99 only to find out that video does not work through Canada which was the majority of the flight"
Cons: "I don't think I will be choosing to fly with United going forward. The staff at the desks were rude and very short. I had a layover in Chicago and did not receive any notification that my flight was cancelled due to maintenance. I went to each desk to try and find an associate and no one was available to help the several individuals wondering how to get switched to a new flight. All of us were just given a phone number to call. Once I found someone thy told me that there was no seats available on any of the flights. They found one seat on a plane that was going to laguardia instead of my destination of Newark and then proceeded to tell me that my bags will still go to Newark and it was my job to make sure I filed to get them. (Same thing happened the last time I flew with United) I'm very disappointed all together with how I was treated as a customer."
Pros: "The flight was bumpy but otherwise pleasant"
Cons: "There was a rude passenger that yelled at me as I was exciting the flight suggesting that I cut her off as we were getting off the plane thinking that I took her bag. It was outrageous and completely ruined the flight for me. I realize this has nothing to do with the flight but it just made me feel so crumby and attached that I felt the need to share it. Also the leg room was a joke. We barely had any room to move. I probably won't fly coach on united again due to the bad taste it left in my mouth. Unfortunate because it's hub is in chicago."
Pros: "The trip TO the United States was bearable."
Cons: "This flight was a complete disaster. I ended up b=on a different flight to Newark, as my flight to Chicago got canceled. Then that fight was unable to land, so I spent hours in baltimore, and missed my connecting flight to Brussels. By the time I finally arrived, 4 hours late, to Newark, I had to spend 2 hours in a line to get re-book, for a flight the next night. I was compensated for all this mess with a $10 food voucher, and had to get a cab from the airport to the closest and cheapest hotel. My flight to Brussels was uneventful, save one rude flight attendant, and I got to school a day late."

Cons: "No free wifi. No free entertainment. Smaller than a kids small fruit snack bag of trail mix for a 4+ hour flight. Gate issues delaying our boarding-resulting in late take off.- and delayed transit home to last available route of the night- thank goodness!"

Cons: "The gate attendant reopened the plane for the man in front of me because he had one book bag and refused to let me on because I had two. The room and taxi voucher were adequate. But $30 in food vouchers doesn't get you very far in an airport. Also that's just enough to survive the lay over that was caused by your maintenance issues. Your attendant then tried to put me on standby all day the following day with a guaranteed flight at 8pm. I then asked him to check other airlines and was able to get an 8am one. The sheer lack of customer service is impressive. PS if your airline screws up, the least I deserve is a seat upgrade or some free sky mile points."
Cons: "We had a confirmed reservation on tickets that I bought months ago. However, when we went to get our seats, the flight had been oversold. We were involuntarily booted off the flight- even though one on standby got a seat, and another person did not show up- we could have gotten on the flight! We were heavily compensated and the staff were as generous as they could be, but it was completely frustrating and upsetting when you have to go through that, after ahead time planning to be booted off a flight like that."
Pros: "I got a seat that had extended leg room so that was good."
Cons: "The plane was relatively old and therefore the entertainment system was very poor. The screen quality was bad and could hardly see the movies. The touch screen did not work well and the screen kept falling down (I had one that came out of the arm of the seat). I noticed those around me had the same issues with their entertainment systems. The service on the plane was just adequate with the staff fairly efficient but not very outgoing or positive. I recently flew LOT and Lufthansa internationally in coach (economy plus) and they provided better meals, towels for washing, more and frequent drink runs and better snacks. Overall, just a mediocre flight -- not terrible, but not good."
Cons: "United delayed the flight. This information became available about an hour in advance- well after we drove two hours (We live in Montana) to get to the airport. The attendants said / not our problem. I called United's Customer Service number to discuss ways of mediating the delay that resulted in us missing the wedding venue and entire reason we booked the $1400 flight. I again got a "not my problem" response- no the flights can be modified, no we will not provide vouchers, no we really don't care that our poor quality and service cost you and your family tremendously in time, effort, and lost memories. I know we are at the mercy of airlines, but what a painful disappointment. My experience with Delta has been better and I suggest avoiding United Airlines if other flight options exist.... Even consider a very long drive over the use of the airline."
Pros: "Overall everything was well conducted. the seats were comfortable and the flight attendants cordial and welcoming."
Cons: "We were a bit late boarding then sat on the tarmac for an extended period of time only to be told that we were headed back to the gate for inspection. They didn't tell us up front what they were dealing with and there was an odd sound and for a few moments the smell of jet fuel wafted in. It was frightening, especailly since the noise persisted and there was no further information offered. When we were set to get back on the runway we were told it was a cargo door that was the issue and that all was well. I would have appreciatted being told what the nature of the problem was initially so that we could know if it was mechanical, engine related etd."
