The man at the counter at Europ Car forced me to take out insurance. I told him several times that I didn't want to take out insurance. He insisted on that. He said it was mandatory in the Dominican Republic. He wanted another $800. The cheaper option is $500. But that was more than I paid for the vehicle. When I wanted to leave after more than an hour, he talked me into taking out a minimum insurance policy of $350. Because I was unsure and wanted to leave quickly, I reluctantly agreed.
