Cons: "A bit of delay in take-off schedule"
Pros: "The service was excellent. The food was wonderful and the cabin very comfortable."
Pros: "Meal was excellent"
Cons: "Would have liked a blanket, it was a bit cold."
Pros: "The entire group of employees were excellent, and very friendly."
Pros: "Very friendly staff, speedy boarding, nice comments from the captain."
Cons: "All the staff were in the lounge meaning paid users were turned away. Upgrade denied by staff working in lounge because all staff had been allocated the business class seats. Staff should be bumped for paying airpoints members."
Cons: "I selected two bags on kayak but when I checked in at Air New Zealand they said I just had tickets. Was forced to pay the full price for the baggage."
Pros: "Friendly crew, timely response, food was nice"
Cons: "I was not able to board flight because air new Zealand Staff would not assist."
Pros: "Air New Zealand check-in as well as counter personnel were professional and courteous."
Cons: "Booked through Kayak with what I thought was an equivalent Expedia ticket but was horrible surprised when I checked-in. Two other fellow travelers booked flight VA 7516 through Expedia for $218 (USD) one-way. I was able to open the same flight / departure time / price with Expedia but could not book. I then switched to Kayak and located this same flight (as I wanted to travel together with them), and it was for approximately same price. Upon check-in I was told it would cost $120 to check my luggage in (which I reluctantly paid). They indicated my ticket did not include this. I later discussed this with my two travelers and their check-in luggage plus a meal were included with their Expedia (Virgin Australia) ticket. Why was my Kayak (Virgin Australia) ticket so different from Expedia when our bookings were done about the same time? I no longer trust Kayak for future bookings."
Pros: "Staff & aircraft were good."
Cons: "Flight was little late but not too bad."
Cons: "- Crew was ok, not friendly just professional."
Pros: "The crew were outstanding as usual . This flight was amazing due to over the top excellence in service especially to me as an older passenger . Probably one of the best flights ever ."
Cons: "Leaving New Zealand again"
Pros: "Unlike the American flights, they actually served a light snack (not pretzels and nuts) and offered complementary wine and beer. The ride was pleasant."
Cons: "For the economy passengers, we had to go down a flight of stairs onto the tarmac and then back up on a portable stairs to get onto the plane. The same was true when we were deboarding the plane. This has more to do with the airports than with Air New Zealand."
Cons: "They were great"
Pros: "On-time flights."
Pros: "We upgraded to premium economy, and Tony was very attentive and took great care of us!"
Pros: "I thought there was plenty of leg room in the standard seats. The flight attendants were cordial. No complaints."
Pros: "The food was good, the accommodation, although it been a long flight everything was allright"
Pros: "Free cookie!"
Pros: "I was on flight nz10 from Auckland to hawaii 3/28th. Loved the crew, they got us on board quickly and we would have taken off on time but had to wait for 2 people showing up late. Anyway, it was a redeye so people slept for most of it and I watched movies and drank wine. The airplane was clean and bathroom were as well. It was a full flight so a little cramped."
Pros: "Tons of free movies."
Cons: "As a vegan I didnt think the food was great. But they did have food for me to eat so that was nice."
Pros: "Air New Zealand may be one of the best airlines I've ever flown. Fantastic service and great flight!"
Pros: "The flight attendants were very helpful. One of our travelers got sick on the plane and, unfortunately, made a mess in one of the toilets. Without batting an eye, the crew took on the thankless task of cleanup. We noticed that the bulkheads had fixtures embedded in them to allow a small basinet to be attached to the bulkhead. One couple used it for their infant and it seemed to be a lifesaver. I don't know of any other airline that offers this."
Cons: "Our seats were more narrow than normal. Almost to the point of discomfort. We did fly on Air New Zealand from Auckland to Christchurch and the seats on that flight were what I would consider a "normal" width. Meals were served in a timely way but the food was just okay - nothing outstanding. But, we did fly coach/economy."
Pros: "Generally like the airline, and Auckland airport. The crew onboard was great, but the guy that helped me check in, and the guy that took my money for the extra rad fee were rude and bad with communicating with both me and each other. Seemed a bit clueless really."
Cons: "That I got charged $140 extra to check a bag even though it all fit under my allowed weight. Very unhappy about that."
Pros: "The service and entertainment. And blankets to keep you warm because it does get cold on the plane."
Cons: "Small seats, no room."
Pros: "Comfortable flight. Drinks were excellent including tea!"
Cons: "Breakfast could be better. My son didn't get his choice on one flight and there was not much he would eat in choices. Make it more general so even teenagers/kids can enjoy. Crew could be nicer, especially in Premier Economy when we pay so much money!"
Pros: "Crew was very nice"
Cons: "Seat back did not recline, free still water not available on touch screen ordering"
Pros: "Food, service, comfort was all very good."
Pros: "Air New Zealand provided excellent customer Service - from check in to arrival. People make all the difference but their aircraft was awesome."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable and adjustable with tons of legroom. There was a bottle of water at our seat when we arrived, real pillows, and no more than two seats side by side. Bean bags to rest your feet on was a great touch."
Cons: "Touch screen system on entertainment system was very sluggish and unresponsive"
Pros: "The flight was comfortable. The crew was friendly it was a smooth flight the food was good and I enjoyed the snacks also."
Cons: "There was't anything I didn't like I thought it was all good"
Pros: "General ambience on board."
Cons: "Change of Gate between baggage check time and boarding. Had to work that out for ones self."
Pros: "Smooth flight, good meals, very quiet, friendly flight attendants."
Cons: "That's a tough one."
Pros: "The Air Canada flight to LA was fine. It was the second leg of the trip that wasn't all that good."
Cons: "The very long stop over in LA. The airport is not great."
Pros: "Nothing. I wasn't able to board the flight, so I wouldn't know."
Cons: "The staff from Air NZ made me lose my flight, keeping me doing queue after queue to pay for a piece of luggage that (apparently) was not included in a $350 fare. They wanted me to pay between $160 and $200 for putting a backpack in the plane!! Pay for almost another flight entirely! While I was going through the queues, the check in time ran out and, by the time I got to talk to someone at the desk to pay for the bag, the woman told me the plane didn't accept any more passengers... while I was still trying to get someone from the airline to help me! ONE HOUR BEFORE DEPARTURE. The plane was supposed to departure at 8:15 and I was still there at 7:15 trying to send my backpack to the cargo area...the solution? Re-book the flight, make me pay $185 in penalties and fees, plus $160-$200 for luggage and the difference of price when booking another flight."
Pros: "Crew was great, good selection of movies"
Pros: "Good fast boarding, food is good, arrives quickly, the tray was collected swiftly. Huge entertainment variety, very odd choices which is awesome."
Cons: "On both long-haul flights, the crew was polite & professional - but not very friendly. I understand that flying 12 hours is not everyone's favourite thing, and they carried themselves well, but it almost felt as if they were doing me a huge favor. Perhaps they save the nice attitude for business class."
Cons: "Seats and aisles have become so small and tight."
Pros: "The flight was on time"
Cons: "The monitors in our seats didn't work so we couldn't watch anything the whole flight. The light in our seats didn't work so we weren't able to read either. One flight attendant just seemed annoyed when we told him we about the issue. Another one was helpful and gave us a torch so we could at least read. We were given Air NZ vouchers for $120 but we weren't able to buy anything from the store."
Pros: "Everything was fabulous"
Pros: "We had extra room to spread out on the flight home."
Cons: "We booked 7 flights for two people almost one year ago throughout New Zealand and Fiji. Due to airline changes in time, at every single airport they had difficulty in accessing our flight information. They told us it was due to slight changes in flight times made by the airlines made it so that our reservations were not located even though they knew we were on the flight somehow. Very frustrating considering how much we spent on the tickets."
Pros: "The foot rest helped but did not come up as high as in the video so had trouble with my knees. If it had been level with the seat I could have slept."
Pros: "The reclining seat pitch and space by feet and under seat was great. Staff was nice."
Cons: "The food was so awful. I could t eat the chicken only the plain rice. Please just provide more plain food not heavily seasoned. Bread meat starch and veggies would be perfect. The headphone speaker volume contrast between hearing the tv and when the pilot chimed in. It blew out my eardrums every time! The soap dispenser shot out all over me and made a mess."
Pros: "The service from the crew is awesome. Crew are very friendly and professional. Food is good."
Cons: "Seating in the centre of the 747 in economy is pretty uncomfortable for trans pacific flights. Understandable, but still rough for that long."
Pros: "decent free entertainment choices, newer plane had usb power ports"
Cons: "we were late taking off, my seat was quite narrow not much room"
Pros: "The inflight service was very friendly. Flight was good, smooth."
Cons: "Flight late arriving c. 30 mins. Could not get the entertainment working on a 5+ hour flight."
Cons: "Why do they use QF flight number between Hobart and Sydney/Melbourne when it is operated by JETStar? As a customer I naturally expect I can get the same service from JETStar as Qantas. However I had to check out my heavy luggage at Sydney Airport, get a shuttle bus paying money and check in again at JETStar. The JETStar staff at the airport was not helpful at all! On the contrary she BLUNTLY told me JETStar is a different company from QANTAS. That's all. At Hobart Airport I was BLUNTLY told again I had to get my luggage at Melbourne Airport and check in again because they didn't have facility to forward the luggage to Qantas. I understand Qantas and JETStar are allied airlines and so they should give the same service as any other allied airlines. I need good explanation about these poor service from JETStar and Qantas. Thank you ."
Pros: "There were probably 4 current, full-length movies I could have watched. Lots of selection, content. Lovely engaging flight attendants."

Cons: "No entrainment"
Cons: "No in-flight wifi or video streaming. Lift your game, Aussie airlines."

Pros: "Good coffee in lounge"
Cons: "Terrible food in business lounge"
Pros: "It was easy booking with Kayak and the flight with Qantas/Jetstar was great. Good service."
Cons: "For a flagship airline, a in seat screen should be a given. This is not a budget airline."
Pros: "Crew was great! food was good entertainment was good"
Cons: "Economy seats very small and uncomfortably. Unable to get any rest on 14 hour flight. I will pay extra next time but online description made it sound better than was"
Cons: "Qantas is a great airline and I enjoy flying with them. I happened to have two seat mates on either side of me who took up more than their share of the seat, making my flight rather uncomfortable."
Pros: "Crew did their best, but that wasn't great."
Cons: "We pre ordered vegetarian meals for my vegetarian daughter, and the flight attendant went out of her way to mention that there was nothing ordered. Original direct flight from LAX to Sydney was delayed by almost 12 hours for "maintenance", so we were rerouted via SFO and Brisbane. 15 hours took 24"
Cons: "Appreciated ability to switch to a bulkhead seat for more legroom. Bathrooms were clean at all times despite long flight. Deplaning was easy and fast enough. Overall a good experience."
Pros: "Quantas Entertainment app was great!"
Cons: "Quantas seems to have frequent gate changes. You have to pay attention. No WiFi in terminals despite posted signs."
Pros: "Food was good."
Cons: "Made me run from connecting flight in Sydney."
Cons: "I booked emrits but i was boaded on quants"
Pros: "What was there to like!"
Cons: "That i couldn't board this flight. Duh!"
Cons: "I told Nicole that my sound wasn’t working and I had tried with 3 different headsets. She just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Not good enough for the price you pay for Qantas. I travel with qantas all the time and have never received service like this."
Pros: "Food was good. Crew was very accommodating."
Cons: "Very cramped seating. Trouble with iPad service."
Cons: "This airport is disorganised and undersized for the volume of patrons passing through. Was frustrated with the poor response of Sydney airport go manage an obvious failure of their baggage handling system. No fallback procedure was activated(manual for eg) to actually progress baggsge hangling even for those with connections to make. Disappointed and embarrassed by the defensive attitudes of staff who were given no Support by mgt of either airport or airline."
Pros: "Nice friendly staff."
Cons: "The snack provided was very unhealthy, and they did not have any alcohol available."
Pros: "The service, politeness of staff, the food."
Cons: "Check in personal at Australia was very bad attitude and service"
Pros: "The plane was small, but it was my first time, so it was cool. The flight was quick and easy, and they covered my luggage even though it was too big for the plane overhead lockers."
Pros: "I don't remember much about this plane. It was nice to get food service for such a short flight. I believe we had the two seats to ourselves, and they were comfortable."
Pros: "Crew was very courteous and understanding , helping us in best manners."
Pros: "Great support with wheel-chair assist."
Pros: "The salmon entree was top notch. Veggies cooked crisp too. Morning muffin was warm. All very yummy:) Wonderful smiling crew."

Cons: "No complaints, really. Wish I hadn't slept through the midnight snack. But I was able to sleep! That's a hit!"
Pros: "The crew is always pleasant and helpful."
Cons: "The business class seats are average at best. The dinner service is good but not well coordinated. The cheese platter at dessert is really anticlimactic. I look forward to international biz class meals, but I want this to be better."
Pros: "All the food. Service was good."
Cons: "There was a delay but they didn't explain what was going on. I overheard that there was a threat."
Pros: "Jean and Dave were excellent stewards"
Pros: "Attentive staff"
Pros: "Friendly service."
Cons: "very narrow seating. no snacks at back of plane no plug in for computer or cell phones. outdated plug in for headphones"
Pros: "The Pilot"
Cons: "Flight was delayed by 2 hours. Had to get off the plane to get a visa. Delayed even more when we arrived in Australia. Didn’t have a gate ready when we landed. Lost my luggage in a flight to Brisbane."
Pros: "Despite the delay in boarding, we were greeted with a smile from the crew. Meal service went well and love the 3 choices of meals offered in economy"
Cons: "Would be nice to check-in for flight on app instead of laptop or tablet"
Pros: "No issues, quick and friendly."
Cons: "Entertainiment screen was not working properly. Bad food. I could not check in online. Okay customer service."
Pros: "I don't injure about anyone else but when I fly such long distances you get anxious over being cared for. Stewards were great, food was great and plenty of it. Anything you needed just let them online and they will accommodate"
Cons: "We were delayed due to wheel problems which ultimately affected my connecting flight. Missed the flight"
Pros: "Checking in and boarding was good and reasonably fast. Room available for everyone's hand luggage. Toilets were reasonable. Food in economy was ok."
Cons: "No hot USB port in economy. Inflight information system is old and screen resolution and contrast is not so good. Best to use own headphones."
Pros: "Comfortable plane. Good entertainment. Very nice chicken salad. Friendly staff."
Cons: "The soggy pies were a bit, well, soggy ... The changeover at Dubai seemed unnecessary. Having to go through security tho get from airside to airside was a bit daft. The crew gave little information on how that changeover was going to happen, and when they did it was just before landing."
Pros: "I was worried about the long flight; but it went very well. The crew was so friendly and I felt very taken care of. The food services were well-timed. Awesome selection of movies and shows. We were provided a blanket, pillow, eye mask etc."
Cons: "I wish business class was not so expensive."
Pros: "Dinner meal"
Pros: "Overall, one of the best international flying experiences I have ever had."
Pros: "Economy cabin red-eye service Perth to Sydney included sandwich and drink soon after departure, quiet cabin with ample at-seat entertainment for those electing not to sleep on the way, and cold bottle of water immediately upon decent in the morning. Being from the US, the cabin and service level far exceeds domestic service offerings from the large US carriers. Value quickly exceeds that of low-cost carriers, especially as a checked bag is included."
Cons: "We had requested a wheelchair for my mum on her flight from SFO to Perth. But on arrival in Sydney, she was not offered a wheelchair. We had checked with a quanta staff while getting our boarding pass about the wheelchair and she said they will be providing her with it. So disappionted. How will I be able to trust quantas again while booking tickets for aged/sick people?"
Pros: "The crew was helpful. Food was good. Really like the individual entertainment screens!"
Cons: "Sad because it was more crowded and we couldn't get by a window. On top of that, the sky cam must have been broken so we couldn't even watch from our screens. I won't travel on a Friday again. Would be nice to have a bit more leg room!"
Cons: "This was actually promoted on the site as an emirates ticket and only after id purchased it did i figure out that it was actually for Emirates Airways sister airline Qantas Airways! I tried to change my dates after I bought it and dealing with Flight network -where i bought it from - was a nightmare!! I wouldnt recomment this at all."
Pros: "All was ok accept they charge 32dollar for bag."
Cons: "Travel with free bag."
Pros: "On time,"
Cons: "WiFi didn't work."
Cons: "The booking process. Went through a third party (ka$@k) and at the last minute was transferred to a cheap aggregator I had never heard of. Needless to say customer service was a joke. Plain fraud."
Pros: "Fast boarding, flight relatively smooth, got to my destination pretty quickly as well."
Cons: "Typical tight seating, aircraft showing age."
Cons: "The wifi signup process not seemless with Android."
Pros: "The seat was comfortable and the flight attendant was very helpful with all the questions I had, thanks for the wonderful first time flying."
Cons: "Nothing give a 10/10"
Pros: "The crew was super nice and I saw them be super accommodating to other passengers which made me feel good about using their airline."
Cons: "They should offer headphones"
Cons: "Make seat available for two of us together not every one in a deferent row"
Pros: "Even thou flight was delayed we arrive at a decent time."
Cons: "Flight delayed by 2 hours due mechanical issue Missed connecting flight Waited in line for 2 hours for a hotel comp. had to pay 20$ to get to hotel because there was no shuttle Still stuck in Dallas. Never made it to Sam fran. Extremely disappointed I expect compensation"
Cons: "The drink service came a little late in the flight... but that is a suggestion more than a complaint."
Pros: "Crew on and off plans were helpful and nice."
Cons: "Delayed for hours for a short one hour flight with multiple gate switches."
Cons: "Bathroom needs fixing as toilets were not working. Planes kept getting cancelled. I never have problems with southwest"
Cons: "Flight arrived over 40 min late and despite my connecting flight still being connected to the gate I was told I couldn’t board. There were 5 people trying to connect to the same flight so it’s pretty rediculous that we were told to rebook when the plane didn’t leave the gate for 15 more minutes. This was the call of the airline and it was handled poorly. The rebooking agent was also extremely rude and seemed totally self absorbed. This was my worst flying experience out of approximately 50 flights this year. Never again American."
Pros: "Flight crew was nice"
Cons: "the small jets are so uncomfortable."
Pros: "Pilot did well on rainy flight"
Cons: "Only pretzels for snack"
Cons: "KTerrible coffee. Tasted stale"
Pros: "On time."
Cons: "They had to take my bag and because no one would volunteer... sigh."
Cons: "Un necessary delays from start to baggage pickup"
Pros: "The crew was great and made light of a relatively tense situation. This was a connecting flight for many passengers which was delayed so many of us were missing our connections. The crew still did a great job keeping everyone comfortable and boarding us quickly."
Cons: "Unfortunately our plane was grounded in Chicago before our leg of the trip even began. By the time it arrived in YYZ many of us would already be missing connections. Due to a smaller plane we have to stow most of our carry on below which caused a bit of chaos while disembarking trying to retrieve bags and hustle to the next flights. Since I knew before leaving YYZ we were quite delayed my husband drove to ORD to pick me up instead of waiting 24hr for the next flight to St. Louis. It added 8 hours of driving for him to an already long day but we made the best of it."
Cons: "Boarding at Terminal 3 gate A8 was slow and a single line makes for a lengthy process."
Cons: "I could tell you how I liked it if I wasn’t sleeping inthe Ronald Reagan National Airport."
Cons: "Bag was delayed and damaged"
Pros: "Nice crew"
Cons: "Old equipment"
Pros: "Crew was great!"
Cons: "Was really poor choice of food."
Pros: "good price and a good route"
Cons: "This turned out to be a 'code share' flight operated by American Airlines. As such, neither Qantas nor American Airlines would allow me to buy premium seats so we could have extra leg room. They said the 'code share' blocks seat sales! Be ware Also found out that American Airlines does not serve meals on flights from Toronto to LAX. I was told they only serve meals on "international flights" but that I could buy a sandwich or snack. Unfortunately they only had 4 sandwiches on board , which sold within the first 2 rows of the plane!"
Pros: "Boarding was a breeze"
Cons: "There was a glitch in the system with our boarding passes. It got sorted out but was just kind of weird."
Pros: "Good assortment of entertainment"
Cons: "Delayed so long we missed our connecting fligh. Then we’re left with no hotel room as everything was booked in Miami for the holiday weekend. It was a mess"
Pros: "The seats were comfortable and the boarding process was very well organized."
Cons: "The plane had a very good entertainment system with a lot of good movies, but the flight had no earphones available, so only the passengers that had their own ear/headphones could use it. Other than that, the flight attendants were not kind in any way and items present in the onboard menu, were not available, as I asked for Pringles and there was none. I did not see anybody eating some food in this flight, other than the mini pretzels served. How a 3hour flight arriving at 09 PM, had no food onboard?"
Pros: "We missed this flight."
Cons: "Background info: we flew from Dublin to Toronto (Aer Lingus) and we were supposed to fly Toronto to Los Angeles on American Airlines; however, we had a British Airways flight number for both of these flights. We missed our connecting flight in Toronto with American Airlines (we had a 2 hour layover) despite landing on-time (de-boarded a few minutes late). I suggest avoiding the Toronto airport ALWAYS as every passenger must pick up his/her luggage even if you have a connecting flight, and then re-check the baggage with the next flight. Apparently the baggage handlers were on strike and some of the customs agents as well which added to the delays. Well, after going through Canadian customs and picking up our luggage (which took quite awhile) we arrived at the American Airlines ticketing kiosk about 45 minutes before our flight. The computer told us we were too late for this flight and to see a representative. We proceeded to wait in line for an American Airlines representative only to be told this was Aer Lingus' fault (we had just flown with them); even though we had a BA flight number.. After searching for an Aer Lingus representative we were finally told they were probably all on the Aer Lingus flight that was currently about to leave. An Aer Lingus representative was paged to the ticketing counter (took well over 30 minutes for anyone to show up) and what proceeded was an argument (for well over an hour) between British Airways and Aer Lingus representatives about whose responsibility it was to re-book us. After an hour at least of poor customer service, we were finally rebooked by British Airways on the last flight to LAX (on Air Canada). Moral of the story: avoid Toronto and fly direct."
Cons: "Staff seemed tired with some minor conflicts between them at Toronto gate"
Cons: "The seats are hard although spacious for a 3 set row."
Pros: "At least the gate agent was pleasant when she told us she couldn't help us and gave us information to get rebooked."
Cons: "That our bags were late coming off the plane and instead of being able to put them on the connection belt we had to take them up to recheck and rwtag them."
Cons: "I hated the waiting area at Pearson. I hated the temperature and how tiny the seats are. Was so hot and absolutely miserable."
Cons: "Connecting to LAX through Toronto was frustrating. We were told in Dublin that our bags were checked all the way through to LA and they weren't. (Been through Toronto before and thought maybe they had changed the procedure) Airport signage could be improved to accurately inform of baggage pickup and drop off with your connecting air carrier. (Our traveling companions ended up missing the flight home in the confusion.) The airport is going through renovations, maybe it will improve. The flight to LA wasn't stocked properly with food. They ran out of sandwiches/fruit and cheese plates by the first few rows in the main cabin. No earbuds available for those who needed them. Cramped seating. This flight was with BA partner American Airlines"
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Cons: "Zero Entertainment. Flight delayed around 30 minutes, which gave me a heartburn as we had to catch the next flight. No priority plus lounge near this gate in Toronto"
Pros: "I liked having a window seat."
Cons: "My screen was broken, so for 6 1/2 hours, I was unable to watch any movies and didn't see the safety video either."
Pros: "Crew was apologetic."
Cons: "PHL ground stop no known reason. Good weather. Even pilot was at a loss. 4 hours total delay, 3 of which spent in tarmac."
Pros: "Flight wasn't full so I had the row to myself and got to stretch out. Great selection of movies. Decent food."
Cons: "One FA seemed visibly annoyed with me; I'm honestly not sure what I did. I am a FA for another airline; didn't identify myself as such but always make sure to not be "that passenger." During two beverage services she did not ask me if I wanted anything but simply looked at me with disdain and sighed loudly. She wasn't rude; just not friendly and I never once saw her smile. She seemed tired and annoyed. I understand that feeling. I've been a FA for 16 years, still junior at my company, but it reminded me how important body language and facial expressions are when we work hospitality and customer service in the public eye. I hope everything is ok with her and I'm sorry if I did something that irritated her. I didn't get her name."
Cons: "The fact the flight was delayed for 5 hours due to weather."
Pros: "The check in process with the kiosks. It was very easy."
Cons: "They ran out of sandwiches that we had to pay for. We didn't have to do that on the Aer Lingus flight, which was for the same amount of time. In the other flight we had choice in entetainment."
Pros: "You provided a room"
Cons: "It seems you could have given me some extra miles or a free flight for all rhe hassles ov missing flights both going to Toronto and the return trip as well as missing my luggage for two days on the return!!!!!"
Cons: "In Toronto, I waited in line at the AA ticket counter. By the time I got to the counter it was a few minutes after the "one hour before flight cut off". I was there in time! I had to give the ticket agent my credit card and she charged my card 400.48! The AA agent was mean and very unprofessional. She told me I had three minutes to make a decision or be stuck in Toronto until the next day. My flight was delayed and I would have made it with no problem. I even have Global Entry! My original flight to Miami was non-stop, instead I had to take a flight that connected in Miami. That flight was two hours late! This was the worst experience I ever had!"
Cons: "No food, no enterteinment, the flight MIA-PTY was late."
Pros: "Seats were comfy."
Cons: "Crew disinterested. The food for business class are simple snacks. AA are very low end in their approach."
Pros: "The flight itself was uneventful."
Cons: "Late departure due to late inbound aircraft and then it started snowing so we had to get de-iced. Very limited menu available for purchase at extortionate prices! No in-flight entertainment . . . not even music to listen to."
Pros: "I liked that they kept us updated on the flight delays. We were delayed departing from the airport, as well as in landing (this was due to weather conditions). The staff appeared courteous."
Cons: "I didn't like that they took a long time to load bags onto the plane. For an international flight to be delayed by this, it can be frustrating. Fortunately, I didn't have a connection, but some passengers did, and I hope they weren't delayed. Also, while it was nice that they had entertainment options, it seemed pretty expensive (~$8 for new movies, and ~$6 for VERY old movies (like from the 2000s)). I suppose that's the cost of entertainment, but I have flown with Virgin America airline and they seemed to have more reasonable pricing/better selection."
Pros: "Crew was nice and very helpful.. Nice selection of movies.."
Cons: "Food could be improved.. no flavor and it looked over cooked.. Drinking cups could be switched to paper cups.. or recycled one's.. Packaging and overall rubbish could also be reduced. 777 seats were to narrow.. bigger seats are a must for such long flights. Internet access could be free.. with a limit of course.."
Pros: "I sat with my husband by the window."
Cons: "First the plane had a delay for an hour, then additional two more hours of delay because we had to wait for another plane with passengers had to connect to the flight. Once we were boarded, we waited another hour for more passengers with luggage issues. After the plane took off, I was happy that the crews continued to offer us water, then I found out that there was no meal plan for the flight. I was hungry after all the unexpected wait plus the 4.5 hours flight to Chicago. I feel that the airline could offer passengers a meal after all the unexpected delays."
Pros: "On board facilities and service"
Pros: "I liked the cleanliness of the plane and how the crew were kind and helpful. I liked that it was a direct flight, but I had to pay around $150 more than other flights available because this one worked best for me for my timeline of travelling."
Cons: "I did not like how the lights were kept on for the entire red eye flight. I flew to China last year on a different airline and the plane was kept dark once we took off so people could sleep. I would have preferred if the crew also only gave drinks at the beginning of the flight after take-off and the end before we landed, rather than in the middle of the flight, interrupting people's sleeps. The flight was more expensive than many I saw available and wasn't worth it other than the fact it was a direct flight."
Pros: "The crew had a problem passenger in first class (I was sitting a few rows back on the other side of the curtain. I noticed that the flight attendant was quickly dealing with something in front but kept her calm and didn't disrupt the overall experience of the passengers. When we landed the police boarded and arrested the man. The people around me didn't even notice anything was going on. I congratulate the Air Canada crew for keeping their cool and they obviously get good training to help them out in these situations."
Pros: "Flight was cancelled , in fact just the flight number was changed but we receive no notification of this change. So it tool ringing the call centre & waiting 20mn to find out the above."""
Pros: "Efficient and pleasant cabin crew. Smooth flight home - Vancouver to Sydney. Reasonable leg room in Economy section. Hassle free boarding procedures - we used electronic boarding passes. Food was served hot & in a timely fashion - reasonable quality for airline meals. The frequent offers of beverages was appreciated. A variety of recent release movies available. Good cross section of music."
Pros: "The entertainment system was great - good selection, and I really appreciated the ability to make a list of what I wanted to watch"
Pros: "Friendly staff."
Cons: "When I pay more for a seat with more leg room and then find that it doesn't recline as it's in front of the exit row I feel I've been taken advantage of. I really think I should get a refund for the extra paid and there should be a clear indication of this issue on the web site's seat selection page. The audio quality with the ear buds was terrible so I gave up using them. Terrible beer selection. IPA's have zoomed in popularity. Please get one. And please avoid Goose Island beers, poor quality and owned by Am Bush."
Pros: "I have booked my flights however they canceled the booking in the last minute. I had to go to flight centre and get my travel agent to booked me a flight to calgary. Air canada has not refunded me my money regarding my online booking."
Cons: "Customer service and booking"
Pros: "Only check in and boarding was smooth."
Cons: "Notification from the Travel agency that I needed to get a Yellow Fever immunization."
Pros: "Polite, helpful crew"
Cons: "Nothing, would recommend"
Pros: "The on board crew were pleasant for the most part. It was a full flight so they were also working hard. Check-in was easy, and the gate area had plenty of space to wait to board. We did get some sort of unspecific voucher for something for the entertainment system not working... have to log onto their site to even find out what it's for."
Cons: "Entertainment system didn't work, so luckily we had loaded up devices with stuff for the kids. We were hopeful that my son could watch a couple of movies, but they tried to reset it... at least we got a voucher. One seat back was missing the USB outlet and one didn't work in our row of three. Regular power (of which there are two... why don't the window seat get one?) was half working... so luckily everything was charged. The gate agent threatened to boot anyone off the plane to the next day if you tried to board before your zone was called... that seemed questionable."
Cons: "Put on Turkish air landed 12 hrs late lggage still missing"
Pros: "While I've ranked the crew as poor, that isn't a reflection of the entire crew. The flight crew and check-in team were fine, the boarding I have as mediocre due to delay, but I don't put that on the staff."
Cons: "My issues are two part: 1 - I wasn't informed that I was required to retrieve my luggage from the carousel on this flight from George Town to Toronto. I thought perhaps I missed something, however, the three other couples that were in the same predicament I was weren't aware either. This caused a massive headache, the instructions were superbly poor on how to retrieve the luggage, and the process was completely a waste of time. We had to talk with three different people, the person that took us back to the carousel showed no urgency despite us all explaining that we were on a short layover, and might miss our next flight, and even though we had our passes to get through customs, we were made to wait in line to have our baggage inspected. A completely broken process that could've been avoided with a friendly reminder at check-in. 2 - Once I was able to retrieve my luggage I picked it up off the carousel only to find the handle on one piece of luggage had been ripped off, and the plastic lining on the other bag was destroyed. Admittedly I find this to be no surprise after seeing how mine and everyone else's luggage was handled so poorly upon being loaded into the cargo. I saw my luggage being tossed 3-5 feet into the cargo area - literally picked up, and with complete disregard flung like it was a trash bag being thrown into the dumpster. Since I didn't have time to discuss this with any staff due to my prior issue and being unable to find a representative once I landed back in Vancouver, I called the next day to discuss this over the phone, but the representative explained that I was only able to make a complaint in-person at the time of baggage retrieval. The person was absolutely useless and unwilling to help. This was by far the worst treatment I've had at any time in my life while flying any airline. The trip to George Town was with American Airlines, and even though it was longer, and a tad bit more expensive, the service I had with them was stellar by comparison to my experience with AirCanada. Going forward I will only be using AC when there are absolutely no other options."
Cons: "This was probably the worst handled flight I have been on; there was first a slight delay, then a longer delay, then a much longer delay, all of which one could find out only after checking online; there were no announcements about the delay until after the scheduled time of departure; then there was another announcement that there was a mechanical problem and we'll be apprised of the situation at 7pm (the flight was scheduled at 6:25). The person at the counter disappeared. At 7:30, the gate changed to a different flight altogether--still no announcement, still no person at the gate. When a different person finally appeared and I asked her what happened to the Pittsburgh flight, she said, it's here, it'll be departing at this precise gate shortly. At that exact time, the PA system had an announcement that the flight to Pittsburgh is now scheduled at gate 86 at 7.01 (yes, 7:01, even though it was already after 7:30). When we went to gate 86, there, of course, was another flight there. After waiting some more, the woman at the first counter now appeared at gate 86 and said the flight was to be at gate 88. Until the very end when we boarded, gate 88 continued to say the flight was to Columbus. Absolutely abysmal customer service. (Even the boarding was handled badly, but at that time we didn't even care.) I am never recommending Air Canada."
Cons: "The airline crew keep on pushing back the departure due to bad weather. No discipline while boarding passengers. Delay after landing to open the door. No clear instructions about the delays"
Pros: "The seat beside me was vacant, so I had extra room."
Cons: "Flights in the late evening from Toronto to Ottawa always seem to be delayed. We spent a lot of time boarding, and a lot of time de-icing before take off. There would have been plenty of time to serve refreshments during de-icing. But refreshments and dismemberment of ear phones only began once the plane was airborne. There was not enough time to service all the passengers at that point. I'm not sure why Air Canada cannot at least give you ear phones when boarding. And why cannot refreshments be served during de-icing?"
Pros: "staff was great checkin at the airport was a breeze and love the 2 checked free luggage for international flights. food was mediocre but what do you expect, I'm just glad we got 2 meals and 2 snacks. great touch."
Cons: "only issue was the fact the online checkin was unavailable to us for some reason which basically left my girlfriend and I sitting in separate rows in between 2 people for 17 hours. entertainment was also pretty lacking with only a few movies available."
Pros: "The extra $50 seats were roomy."
Cons: "Flight was delayed and no one knew why!... Plane had been sitting ready at the airport for hours. Novice flight attendants, they each picked on different things others missed just before them. No consistency, seats left reclined during takeoff and landing for example. One way there was drink service once even though it was a smooth flight and the return had drink service twice even though it was bumpier! Entertainment does NOT work on androids, it is NOT the AirCanada app they tell you to download prior to the flight, it's an AirCanadaRouge.pk file that needs to be downloaded in flight! Which means we're stuck paying for the iPad and of course only with cc because there's no wifi for debit cards.... AC needs to stop this insanely mediocre and yet expensive monopoly."
Cons: "I never got on that flight because the flight from Montreal to Toronto was delayed so I would have missed the connection. The flight from Montreal was late. I showed up a the airport three times before I got on a plane. Air Canada asked me to check in online but the system didn't work. Because of the storm, Air Canada couldn't even place me on hold so I had to go to the airport earlier in the day. When I complained about not being able to check in online, they asked gaslighted me and kept repeating that their system was "a great product" and that there was no way it didn't work. One person finally told me that it was because I had a pet in cabin. I could have saved a lot of frustration if someone had told me that. I also think that for a flight that left late and caused me to change plans and leave on a different day with another delayed flight because of the luggage conveyor belt that didn't work - which paralyzed an entire airport - they could have offered us a complimentary meal on the plane."
Cons: "Late flight the crew did.t care and many people missed connections. The customer service at the airport desk was understaffed slow and rude. They we're not helpful in trying to get new flights booked and I felt like it was asking a huge favor even though it was Thier delayed flight that made me miss my connection."
Pros: "Well, it did leave on time."
Cons: "I knew the seat pitch in economy was tight, but nothing prepared me for how truly abysmal it is. I’m 6’1”. My knees were jammed into the seat pocket. The fun continued when the passenger in front of me reclined their seat. I had to angle both my knees to the side. Without a doubt the most uncomfortable flight I’ve ever done. On a side note, AC switched equipment on this flight several times. Each time the ‘system’ would split up our seats. I had to call in five separate times to pick new seats. Also, at the gate they were asking passengers to voluntarily check in carry-on as there may not be enough room on the aircraft. First time I’ve ever heard that."
Cons: "Lost luggage!"
Pros: "Ease of service and efficiency."
Cons: "few movies"
Cons: "Very cramped like sardine tin. Not enough flight info boards in airport and they were hard to read m"
Cons: "Air Canada is always late in my experience. I always end up waiting at the gate for the inbound flight which happens to be late. It is so annoyingly dishonest, considering that the flight is announced as on-time up until minutes before the departure time. When all along they know the incoming flight is late. After we boarded the plane at origin, we spent 15 minutes at the gate and quite a bit on the runway. When nearing the DCA, the plane took a complete detour went near Baltimore and then Annapolis and then flew back to near Gaithersburg as if it was intentionally wasting time on the air. Upon landing in DCA we had to wait 15 minutes on the taxiway waiting for the gate to clear. The (one hour long) flight that was scheduled to land at 10:20pm landed just before midnight. Air Canada is awful. This happens every time I fly with Air Canada and their conduct is just cheap and dishonest."
Pros: "Knowing that there is not enough head-room for carry-on luggage, I joined to volunteer to check-in my carry-on luggage. Service agent at the counter is very helpful and great service attitude. I asked if they have plastic twistee so I can lock my carry-on luggage before check it in. Unlucky there is none. I hope Air Canada can consider providing this ( I got from Cathy pacific before at check-in luggage counter) since they may help re-assure traveler like me who don't prepare a lock for the hand carry suitcase."
Cons: "1) Flight delay for 1 hour - that is not good 2) Choice of movie are really limited - many are old and very very old movies even though are blockbuster 3) I bought carrot and celery stick; which are wet and in plastic bag => so I cannot avoid making the table wet too! Thought it should be in a simple plastic container => even though I agree to minimal use of plastic for environmental reason. 4) The insufficient headroom for carry-on really slow the boarding time and cause delay in departure. Need better idea to help with this. may be for those who volunteer to check-in their carry on, they get a coupon for priority to board next time?"
Pros: "Excellent value for Economy flight"
Pros: "Comfortable flight, very pleasant cabin crew."
Cons: "No flight entertainment at all."
Pros: "It was OK but it had to be better than the flight to Canada which was delayed 24 hours (just for bad measure). It's a cheap flight and AC warn that the "in seat" screen is no longer provided so criticism on this basis is a bit silly. I noted that the free iPads in Premium Economy provided more films but they were so dated!!! Food in PE was much better as was the general service. It cost quite a bit in the "Auction" but it was worth it I think."
Cons: "This relates to the outward trip when we only found out at the check-in that the plane was postponed to the following day. OK, we were put up in a hotel for the night but 24 hours there was not the best day of my life. I wasn't too impressed with the hotel."
Cons: "weather grounded non stop flight... required my finding a hotel for overnight... loss of MSP hotel, and two days rental car, too... costly and not reimbursable because "act of nature"... earliest way to MSP they said was via Nashville w/long layover... then connecting to Delta upon arrival in MSP, checked bag didn't arrive... it was filled w/medical equipment and AC couldn't tell us where it was... Delta bent over backwards to assist... AC was non-commital and not helpful at all... waited for incoming flights at the airport MSP for 8 hours... no bag... finally, Delta gave us vouchers for dinner and put us in a hotel... when it as really Air Canada's fault... etc, etc..."
Pros: "Flight attendant was helpful when I had a personal health issue."
Cons: "Pay for snacks on a 5 hour flight? What do you really get for a ticket that cost over $500. US? I paid for noodle soup. They gave me a fork to eat it after they bumped into me and spilled the hot liquid on my sleeve and slacks. Then when I went to eat it I realized that the noodles were not cooked through. they were rubbery. the liquid was tasty, but with a fork how much can you taste. Ended up giving it back after eating about 1/4 of it. Seats had no leg room even though was a larger plane. Had restless leg from the very beginning. Legs were in pain the whole time."
Pros: "My mother's attendants and the flight crew were very friendly and courteous to her."
Cons: "No information or communication about bringing your own food or snacks on board. No food, snacks, entertainment or immigration forms were available. There was some food for purchase but if you didn't have a credit or debit card then you couldn't buy it. My mother was in a wheelchair waiting to board in Toronto and would have bought food to either eat there or carry on the plane but another passenger was severely reprimanded for getting out of her wheelchair and going to the bathroom, so my mother was intimidated to stay seated and not go to the bathroom nor ask any questions as to if she could go and buy some food or snack to eat while she was waiting. Only juices were served. She was flying since 11 am and arrived at 9:30 pm without any food. The website as well as all emails should inform about luggage weight as well as food and entertainment. On a layover the attendants should be more cooperative with disabled passengers and allow them to use the bathroom as well as to go and buy food."
Pros: "Everything. The plane was immaculate, the seats were comfortable, the food was delicious, the flight crew was friendly and professional. Air Canada's abillity to transit passengers from the US to international destinations is truly remarkable and must be best in class. I went from an inbound flight from Houston, through Immigration and to the gate for my flight to London in under 15 minutes!"
Pros: "Of the five planes we were on, all but one had comfortable seating (I'm 6'1" tall)"
Cons: "The lady helping us through the Toronto airport between flights made my wife cry. We had to stop to go to the restroom on the way to our gate, and the lady complained when I waited to go in after my wife came out. I told her I was going to do that, but she was apparently pre-occupied when I told her, because she was looking right at me when I said it. I then told her that I had let her know that was my plan, but she denied it, then told my wife she was just one of a hundred people. This left my wife in tears. This was a stain on an otherwise good flying experience, but it' tarnished the whole."
Pros: "At fisrt the flight was over booked. Once we had boarded their was a technical issues with the aircraft, we had to sit in our aiys with nothing to do for just under 2 hours. With this delay in mind their was no form of a free drink as a mini compensation. They had no choice of food."
Pros: "That even though there is a delay, we still made it around the same time"
Cons: "That there was a delay in the first place"
Cons: "Flight was delayed multiple times. Was tracking boarding from the Air Canada app as there was nowhere to sit by the departure gate or screens. The app didn't advise that the flight was boarding (unlike other apps such as BA). I missed my flight and they insisted on charging me more than what I paid for the entire ticket just to return home. I got back to London to find that my luggage didn't make the journey. Staff at Air Canada were unfriendly and unprofessional."
Pros: "Flight was good. Left a bit late but made up time"
Cons: "Security took nearly an hour to get through even though it didn't look very busy."
Pros: "This was my first time in Canada never been there before I had a great time until that one moment I had to deal with workers from air Canada except one agent at the ticketing desk....I had checked in online the day before however I had some card issues because they got shut down by my bank and due to the holiday in America I was unable to call my Bank prior to the airport....got to the airport and tried to explain that all I wanted to do was pay for my bag with cash ...but no one took the time out to listen each time i tried explaining myself I was send to a different location to join another line ....by the time I got to someone who was willing to listen my flight was closed ..her name was Aurora and gave me nothing but attitude when I explained my story......anyways finally got to ticketing and a met the only agent that day who exercise some level of customer service that day...if only I could remember her name ...sigh she went the extra mile because at this point I was frustrated and unsure if I would make it out of the country a sane person due to the amount of chaos I experienced prior. She got LISTENED .....SHE TOOK THE TIME TO LISTEN...got me on a new flight and went above an beyond to assist me that morning I was on the verge of a breakdown at that point all other staff member was very disgusting not only to my self but the other individuals who had mishaps that morning."
Cons: "I didn't care about putting my own tags on my luggage or I had to put it on the conveyor. But when I get to my destination and no luggage to be found, I was pissed. The only thing I didn't do was put my luggage on the plane and when I did get it, the luggage was damaged. My luggage went from Kingston - Toronto - Barbados, back to Toronto with nothing wrong with the luggage. They cancelled the last flight to Kingston,so they put us in a hotel. But from Toronto back to Kingston was hell when we got to Kingston."
Pros: "I think cost me without needing to go back and forth"
Cons: "Our flight was cancelled after already waiting through a 3.5 hour delay. The inbound flight was delayed due to weather, and as a result, there was no crew available for our flight. This left us stranded at Pearson at 3am with no Air Canada agents available for assistance. After a two hour wait on hold with Air Canada customer service, we were told the earliest flight we could get on was two days later. Unacceptable. We ended up having to buy tickets with WestJet. Weather delays are understandable. Not having sufficient customer service agents available for assistance nor having enough crew on call is inexcusable and incompetent."
Pros: "Very helpful crew and staff assisting with golf buggy ride"
Pros: "The price for a round trip flight Philadelphia to Barcelona was fantastic. Unfortunately, this was a case of you getting what you pay for. Both my husband and I were very unhappy with the entire experience."
Cons: "Airplanes were very uncomfortable, flight crew was unfriendly (smiles were scarce and you felt you annoyed them if you wanted anything), service took too long (perhaps not enough personnel for number of passengers), plane was extremely warm, food was only fair -- all other international flights I've taken have had much better food and comforts). We had long layover on return flight in Toronto and airport and Air Canada personnel were not very helpful or accommodating. When we asked for a suggestion on where we could go in the airport to kill several hours (eating, drinking, watching TV), were were told by many that the airport is bad and we're given conflicting or poor answers. Intimately the advice given put us having to go thru security and Custims again (even though we already had) and that process was extremely disorganized and time consuming."
Pros: "Very pleasant flight; excellent entertainment options to while away the time. Excellent crew."
Cons: "I was held aside at the customs area and had a difficult time figuring out what was going on. Signage was less than helpful, and staff were unaware of why I was being held. After over 30 minutes during which the gate staff could only tell me to wait and watch for my initials on the electronic board, the staff learned that some bags on my arrival flight had been accidentally diverted to Canadian customs rather than US customs, and passengers could not proceed to connecting flights until our bags were located. The customer service staff then worked very hard on our problem. I was instructed to re-book my flight, since by now the doors were about to close - but that customer service person could not re-book me, and I had to queue up again for another agent. When I got to the desk, that agent was able to get me approved to board my flight sans bag, ran me to the front of the Immigration line, and got me to my gate in time to board. I deeply appreciate her assistance, as my family was already on the plane."
