Seats not as comfortable but understand as it was a smaller plane/ short flight. All in all, I’ve never had any issues with Porter. Great company to fly with
Look, I understand that Kayak doesn't know I cancelled my flight on Porter. So I didn't actually fly yesterday. My main disappointment is with Porter ticket fare policies, and maybe you can pass this on to them: At my employer's request, I had booked a full fare ticket with no change fees since my trip to Toronto would likely be extended. Indeed, when I went to change my flight home to a later date, I was told the Fare Difference would cost an additional $550. So much for no change fees lol! While I had the agent on the line, I hopped over to Kayak, searched for new flights on the date in question, and saw a one-way ticket that got me home for only $355. So I got reimbursed about $450for the unused half of my roundtrip and bought a new ticket for $355. What good is a full fare / no change fee ticket if they screw you with "fare difference" BS. I'm still flying home on Porter Airlines but they just lost a hundred bucks with their stupid shenanigans.
I flew with Porter yesterday and overall had a positive experience. The flight was delayed, but the airline did a good job keeping passengers informed with frequent updates throughout the process. My biggest challenge was actually in Terminal 3, where the speaker system wasn’t very clear. It was often difficult to hear the announcements, which made it harder to follow updates at the gate. On board, the experience improved significantly. The aircraft felt very new and well maintained, and the seats were surprisingly comfortable for a short-haul flight. One of the flight attendants seemed a little disengaged, but the other was excellent—friendly, professional, and a pleasure to interact with. Despite the delay, the comfortable aircraft, clear communication from Porter, and positive onboard service made for a good overall experience.
The staff was amazing. Best service I’ve had on an aircraft in a long time. Was not particularly happy with the food. Flight was at 10:50 and left home too early for breakfast and wasn’t able to purchase food at airport and felt for sure I could get some breakfast to buy on airplane. Nope as food was served around 11:30 and only one choice left (I was at 22C) so ordered the chicken dish thinking I’m getting a hot meal but cold chicken with rice and carrots etc. I was looking forward to a croissant sandwich and a hot cup of tea. The FA was kind to explain they were serving dinner at that time. She was lovely Other than the disappointment with the food the staff was amazing. On my return flight I will make sure to eat and take some food with me so I’m not hungry or disappointed. This was my second time ever flying Porter and will consider checking them when I next come to visit my daughter. Have to say it again best crew I’ve ever experienced on a flight and I travel quite a bit. Thanks.
I didn’t receive any help when they messed up and wasn’t honest and the supervisor did absolutely nothing to help me so I had to buy another ticket at $537
The check-in staff, boarding staff, and flight crew were all very friendly. Really miss the Porter lounge in Ottawa.
Due to mechanical problems it was delayed causing problems the actual flight. Was fune
Delayed by 2.5 hours. This happened previously on my flight from YOW to YVR on Dec. 26.2023. This is a terrible airline. The reason was there was lack of ground crew. This is a known event. AVOID PORTER AIRLINES IF YOU CAN. There is a reason half the plane was empty.
Flight Ottawa to Toronto canceled and no crew was available to direct me on what to do. I opened a file and I wait to be compensated.
Porter, like most airlines, need to improve their baggage policies. In reality, there are no longer 'cheap flights' because passengers pay exorbitant baggage fees.
The flight was terrible based off the temperature in the plane and the air smelled so stale and gross. I have never wanted to hosed lore in my life after I got off. The food was disgusting and seemingly low quality. The staff was friendly. The bathrooms were so gross after a couple of hours. I will definitely never book with them again.
The crew was great. There was no entertainment and the internet wasn't working. We sat in the run way for a LONG time which is always so upsetting. The seats are very close together and the flights are completely full which makes for a tough flight. Flying is just an uncomfortable experience.
Very kind crew. Vegetarian food better than usual. Prompt take off. Entertainment worked well. Could always do with more room!
The dinner was bland and boring, but the economy seats were surprisingly comfortable. The flight was very packed.
Great crew and entertaining Captain. Seats were not what we had expected based on my booking but things worked out in the end. Of course, like all airlines these days not enough leg or elbow room.
The entertainment system was down; food by purchase only; several people did not receive their luggage. No one answers at the local office or online about the luggage.
This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had. Basically, I lost my round-trip tickets because one of my last names was missing, and you didn’t allow me to correct it. I had to purchase a full ticket again. Once I get home, I will start legal proceedings against you.
It’s ok just the boarding point is far too far
They are a sister company with Air Transat and the two companies do not work well together. If you have any issues the two companies will blame each other and you will miss your flights. The help line does not help

Crew were welcoming, accommodating and they worked hard to find places for all carry on.

No seat back entertainment. And app had a hard time getting entertainment loaded.
It was great. There were some issues prior to takeoff. The weather was poor so we had to go through deicing, and we were delayed a bit by the pilots' concern about one of the engines, but that's aviation. The pilots handled everything with aplomb, and kept us apprised
It was great with United overall except for two things. 1) It was a 5-hour flight and we were with kids, so we were asking for extra snacks. They were extremely reticent to dole them out even though there wasn't any meal and the kids were starting to hit their limit towards the end. 2) Baggage didn't arrive until 80 minutes after we landed.
I dread trans-Pacific flights. They are very long. This was my first time on Universal, and it was my best crossing ever. The staff were professional, the hospitality was great, and the food was delicious. The entertainment system filled the long flight hours. I will seek out Universal flights from now onwards. 🙂
My flight was delayed about 1 1/2 hours in Chicago, but other then that it was a good flight.
Staff was rude. Didn’t give water for 2 hours. Worst service
We took off an hour late due to arrival airport not having enough gates. That was followed by 1:30 wait to get our bags delivered for the entire flight.
It’s a service to take you from one point to another. No frills. You want it, you take it. It’s upon you to bring food, reading material, games to play, movies to watch, etc. The wifi onboard never works - so you cannot even listen to any podcasts, music, or get updated news feeds. The toilet is a mess, and a four flight does not need any hygienic interventions when people either splatter their pee all over the seats or on the floor. It’s a monopolized service and so smile and bear it.
The pricing was split into an ultra basic fare with a comfort seat upgrade. This is misleading. Never were we shown an ultra basic fare. What this did because the fare category was ultra basic we could not bid on an upgrade first class seat. All e mails from WestJet were for ultra basic category with my wife and I upset as we could not confirm this with anyone from your firm.The check in counter were not going to allow our carry on but after some checking saw we had ultra basic and a comfort seat upgrade. They could not figure out how this was done. Now we have to go through this again at the gate in Mexico. Unless I missed it - please let customers know the billing in future. Respectfully. Good value, minor delay due to waiting for inbound plane but they gave accurate information about wait time. Able to switch to a seat by my husband thanks to a kind flight attendant
Single flights to Cancun purchased through third-party, initially had issues printing luggage labels with the lady at the airport Pearson… Was super friendly and assisted quickly despite being very busy
Require more comfortable seats. More frequent water/beverage service. I would like better food choices. Overall, very mediocre. I now only fly WestJet when there are no other schedule options - no longer my first choice.
we were upgraded to business class, not sure why, so the flight exceeded our expectations. Perhaps this was because the flight Cancun to Calgary was a nightmare , not even guaranteed a seat upon checkin at the airport.
Not the fault of WestJet but we had to wait in the plane on the tarmac in Cancun for 1 hour.
The 787 was amazing. Listening to screaming and crying children for four hours was horrible. Small children should be in one section. Seats were very comfortable and leg room was fantastic. Information was very generic on timing.
A lot of people needing bathroom before arrival some didn’t get to use; plane a little small felt cramped but worked still a bigger plane would be nice. Crew was friendly and flight was on time and smooth. No food for vegans 🤔
lucky i am considered slender. but i am 5'7", so in case of emergency it would have been completely impossible to put my head on my lap. THERE SIMPLY WAS NO ROOM TO BEND OVER, ALTHOUGH I AM MORE THAN CAPABLE(AS A LIFETIME OF YOGA WILL ATTEST TO). CRAZY DANGEROUS HOW SQUEEZED INTO THE SEATS WE WERE. i have travelled to mexico for almost 20 years, mostly on westjet, but they have obviously squeezed more seats into the 737 to ,,,,,you guessed it make more money!!!!!! also i had to repeatedly move my 'seatmate' as she kept falling asleep, and as she was definately not slender, she squished me into the window seat all through the flight., if i could have jumped out of the plane and swam to mexico i would have done it in a heartbeat. TERRIBLE FLIGHT, NO FOOD, OH, SORRY, FREE PRETZELS OR COOKIES. LOTS OF BOOZE FOR SALE THOUGH!!!! WORST FLIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!!!
They are offering less and less for more and more. They changed our seat that we paid extra to select at the last minute. The seats are way too narrow and my elbows went numb.
The flight was good. My luggage didn’t land with me when I arrived in Columbus. So grateful I was able to get my luggage back within the 2 hours😍👍.
It was out first time flying Air Canada and it was ok, comfort-wise. I hope airlines are able to get a quiet room installed for young children flying. Screaming and crying the whole time in business class is quite unfortunate. That was the only thing that really messed up the experience.
No entertainment system. Paid extra for wider seats but not worth the cost. Flight left a little late and arrived early.
Flight left on time. Crew was polite and helpful. Flight arrived early at destination. Had some trouble with in-flight entertainment system (not built in to seat-back) but found a work-around. Good experience.
The crew assigned did not start on time due to delays on having a person call off sick and later having a person not wanting to stay on cancun. No screens and also no beverages provided delay for 2 h 15 min
The 6 hour delay with minimal updates was not handled well. After many complaints from most of the un-boarded passengers, food vouchers were offered. The catering strike meant there was no food or snacks on the plane. Beverage service was heavily impacted, only water or juice was available. The staff at the gate was kind enough to inform that "if you want to eat on the plane, you will need to bring it on when boarding".
I did not like the fact that our bags went missing
Boarding was seemless. As for the flight itself, we deiced the wings twice. Had to come back to check for mechanical issues leading to our flight arriving 3-hours late to destination. As for food choice, do not choose the pancakes as it was similar to eating sweet microwaved porridge.
The landing was a little rough fit the size and weight of the plane we made it .
