Boarding - It is unclear where the line for the group are given the signs. A solution would be a diagonal arrow pointing to the lane in which the lane for boarding of a given zone should form. As it is now, you are guessing which side of the pole the "zone 3" sign is telling you to form the line. Inflight Entertainment - The Spanish subtitles function didn't work for movie watching (in fact, all subtitles didn't work), so was difficult to follow along and I watched the movie in silence without words.
Happy attentive flight crew. All in all good flight the night flight works well. Getting into Mexico City early so you don't get caught up it all the immigration and custom ques, additionally, this helps when exiting the airport and crossing the city to your final destination. All works very well and would do it again
An hour-long wait to check in, 90 minutes for luggage to come out, lost luggage, chaotic operations
Planes seat could be bigger very uncomfortable for tall humans.
No space reserved for anyone who didn’t have underseat in front of them. Made it inconvenient to get the backs secured. No inflight entertainment in the 190. Bring your own! Food was excellent and we were surprised to get a full breakfast.
I like the plane , but i was 50 mts before my fly and they didn’t let me document my luggage, so they told my that I have to leave my luggage or buy an others tickets , because they didn’t want me to give me credit for the tickets I have so that is abuse from the company , and on the line it was 5 families with the same situation equal lime mine , I think they doing business with the tickets w people ,; Mexico has a bad working people, the rip money from turists, and is bad because give bad impression of the company that is aereomexico
The ground crew in Houston were not friendly. The security staff were very rude and reflected an attitude of superiority with rude remarks.
The flight was excellent. The crew was great. The food offerings were very good.
Onboarding process was great and efficient. Plane was very new and entertainment choices were great. The only complain is no meal despite it was a flight that is longer than 6 hours.
Flight was delayed due to weather and clogged toilet. Had to deplane. Flight was 3 hours delayed. Crew was awesome and offered water and snacks.
Extremely uncomfortable sitting in a small space for 2 hours, especially for older people. Understood it was circumstantial.
Shout out to the check in counter staff in Richmond. So pleasant and helpful with ticketing and seat selection.
Lufthansa placed a 300 lb passenger in the aisle seat and I was stuck in the middle leaning sideways with no arm rest or ability to sit up straight and fully use my seat (due to encroachment-the seats are very narrow) the entire flight.
Both flights were late by about 30 minutes .. Other than that, everything was ok..

Horrible. I have been trying to speak to a representative to know why I was over charged but I get redirected to AI Vianca everytime with no results. Is there an agency that oversees airline gouging? I will never fly or recommend Avianca to anyone not that you care.
Worst in 25 years. A 10 hours flight from Buenos Aires to Costa Rica and no free food! Then the food available for purchase was sold out in 5 minutes. I was travelling with two kids and wasn't ready to keep them happy with chips and cookies for such a long time. Avianca doesn't make sure that minors sit next to an adult so I was forced to pay 65 USD for each seat in a so called premium seat whic is exactly the same as the economy free seats. Never again with Avianca.
Old planes rude workers no tvs seats don’t go back and overpriced
Terrible. Flight was delayed without explanation, airplane was in poor condition (old, dirty) and crew was not in a good mood.

Definitely my worst experience. We booked a flight JFK - Cartagena with a layover at Bogota. My partner and I were on time for the boarding at 10:55pm. We were about to enter in the plane, literally, when one of the officer from the airline Avianca, took the passport of my partner to apparently « looked at his luggage reservation ». It made no sense, first the luggage was under my name, and then we went through all the controls at the airport. The person went back to the gate inside the airport, I followed my partner. The employees from the airline were rude and disrespectful. They were not explaining us what’s was going on. After 5 minutes of silence treatment. They told us that my partner was intoxicated (it was absolutely not true, they never conducted tests btw) and he couldn’t board in the plane and he will take the next one. They didn’t late us coordinated the trip, and not even let us say goodbye to each other. I was forced to take the plane to bogota and my partner to stay in NYC. It was traumatic. My partner had to wait 6h in the airport (night time) and he had to pay an additional ticket even tho the employees mentioned he was going to take the next flight. We are going to file a complain. It’s unbelievable. First and last time I will ever use this airline. I do not recommend.
The good thing is the flight was on time and the crew was really nice. They can work better the arriving with staff
I don't think anyone actually reads these comments, so I won't spend much time on this submission. If you want to talk, you know how to reach me. The D/FW manager of Avianca (self-identified), Juan Calderon, insisted I buy an onward ticket from San Salvador even though I have diplomatic status in El Salvador and live here. It cost me $1,393 and Mr Calderon would not let me make the ticked flexible so I could get a refund. He went out of his way to be rude to me. He gave me seat 32K -- windowless window seat in the last row and did not offer to let me upgrade even though there were plenty of seats. I have flown well over a million miles in my life and this is the worst experience I have ever had. I would like a refund on the ticket I was forced to buy. Just awful!
No comfort at all. You should add at least 1 meal or a bottle of water. I wanted to buy one sandwich and everything was gone.
There was no entertainment and the meal that was included in my flight fee was not provided.
Excellent and friendly service. Interesting snacks and free wine and beer are pluses.
Lines at gate boarding is messy. It spills into traffic which causes other travelers to snake around the boarding passengers. Need better traffic control.
My seat wouldn't recline. But lots of leg room was great. Good flight.
The plane for my second flight was reassigned. We had to wait for them to get a different plane out of the hangar and call in a crew
Fly was cancel, change airline, fly was delay not get back to Mexico until this morning at 5am worse travel experience ever my luggage is lost, I quiet honestly requesting refund of my travel, not to mention have to spend more in food and Uber from the airport to my home was supposed to be a 12 hr day turn a nightmare.
I think I was charged for $30 baggage fee when I thought economy included one checked bag.
How slow the security process was and the fact that I had to do it twice - once in Victoria and again in Vancouver - even tho I didn't leave the airport
the flight was an hour late, which made us miss our connection to sacramento. we are having to spend the night in the vancouver airport and fly to san francisco instead. air canada says that since the late flight was caused by air traffic control and not a mechanical issue they won't pay for a hotel, so two senior citizens are going to have to sleep in the food court at vancouver airport tonight. NOT HAPPY!
Not happened yet. Still waiting in the long checking queue at 5:30 am as my flight yesterday was cancelled.
