The driver added 2 more to our cart which slow us down appreciably. We got to the gate and they hadn't started boarding. My wife went to the Ladies Room and I walked over to the desk. The boarding flight was going to LA!! Our flight was going out C11! I had to ask a woman to go into the restroom and yell for my wife to get moving! We made it but I don't know how. Typical Delta!!!!"

I had to remove everything from my side pants pockets and even then was not particularly comfortable. This is particularly annoying because I usually avoid this by flying comfort plus. However, on this itinerary, Delta would not allow me to give them money for Comfort plus, because it was a domestic leg on an itinerary including stops in Asia. Such a baffling policy!?!?"

Cons: "After a grueling 14 hour flight back to the states from Asia, got notification that my Delta flight was further delayed an additional 3.5 hrs from the layover of 2hrs, so I was at the airport for a good part of the day and did not get home till midnight. Altogether 24+ hrs of no real sleep. To add insult to injury, a Delta representative called and apologized, offering a $100 voucher or gift certificate. Raised expectation that they might actually do the right thing. I then received a Delta email that says "Your day just got better", except there was nothing but ads and enter to bid for things. Overall bad experience when I really needed them to get me home on time."

Was not advised to try standby on other later flights, which worked. Finally landing in BOS, we sat for 45+ min waiting for a third person to flag the plan to the gate. Understand why, but really annoying after such a long day full of delays. Felt many areas could have been handled better. Each person individually tried, but in aggregate it was a mess."

Cons: "Weather delays were compounded by Porter's incompetence at plane maintenance (plane was too hot when it finally arrived), crew scheduling (and then crew timed out) and finally boarding, which was a nightmare as attendants sent irate passengers who had been waiting in an overcrowded lounge for hours back and forth between podium and counter unnecessarily while ignoring protests and the fact that contradictory directions were being given. As a result, I missed my flight to a critical business event - this could have been avoided if Porter was prepared for bad weather on the East Coast (a fairly frequent occurrence) and had good contingency plans in place and customer service reps who actually knew what they were doing and how to respond to changing circumstances and customer frustration."

Pros: "My past 4 Porter flights over a few months have had at least 40 minutes of delays. They all also had the annoying pattern of announcing that the delay would be extended a few times, then saying no more delays, then not boarding until after the newest departure time while claiming no more delays. Toronto airport is cute but wifi is pretty bad and hasn't worked at all a few times. Recently gate area has been ridiculously overcrowded, people sitting all over the floor. Free food/drinks is nice but still very limited options and unsurprisingly people make a big mess of the free food area. Overall I prefer a large clean airports where wifi always works well and you can always find a seat for the 30+ minutes you wait for your flight."

I was told it was my choice but that if it didn't fit in the overhead I would have to come back out and put it on the rack. I was very dismayed when I got off the plane to see that I had to wait in the hallway for quite a while until my luggage appeared. It was a real traffic jam of people. I really wish I had put my luggage in the overhead. Also, minutes before boarding we were told to go and verify our passports. It was quite a rush to run to the other end of the room, wait in line and then get to the boarding gate. I barely made it back in time even though I had been waiting there for nearly an hour ."
Pros: "Liked the fact that I flew out of Toronto Islands airport, was fast and easy with complimentary snacks while waiting at the gate. I had an early morning flight and so beat the traffic, as I'm sure that picks up later in the day. Online checkin was easy and simple. I did not have any check-in luggage, only carry-on, suspect that also made it easier. The Porter airlines support call center was very helpful and friendly There were complimentary coffee and snacks at the gate... was a really nice feeling. Liked the waiting area at the gates, comfortable seating. Plane was on time. No issues"

So taking a later flight on Porter may be problematic as getting to the airport would be more difficult. The language in the email ticket confirmation made me a little concerned, as it mentioned having to re-confirm the booking and being at the airport at least 3 hours ahead even though the flight time was only 1:05 hours etc. But after calling in to the support center, the concerns were cleared up."

Oh wait, but there's still Wi-Fi service, right? Sure, if you are willing to pay $17 just to download application!! United, I understand how you want to make little money out of a customer's pocket, but this is not how you should do it. You should at least allow internet connection before departure or let the customer aware they need to download application beforehand."

Cons: "When we made reservations in February we opted for economy plus seating 8C and 8D on an Airbus A320. In June we received notice of a schedule and equipment change to a Boeing 737-300. I was not told or given the option to change seat assignments, and we were assigned middle and window seats 28E and 28F, which were torture, so narrow and almost no legroom. Why weren't we automatically assigned economy plus seats? Adding insult to injury I had to apply for a refund for the seat upgrade, which again should have been automatic. Seeing as how the return flight was code-shared with AirCanada, United did not give us the option to upgrade seating, so I was forced to call United, waited almost 40 minutes so that they could give me the AirCanada booking reference number which then enabled me to upgrade seats via AirCanada's website. Lucky thing too because there weren't many economy plus seats left. I consider myself to be a savvy traveler, but there were too many unknowns and hoops to jump through in order to get proper seating. Plus the extra fees for premier access and baggage are exorbitant. Finally, I bought an egg white flatbread snack which was awful. I don't see how United gets away with this treatment, it certainly doesn't make for an enjoyable experience when vacationing. In fact we are seriously considering not taking any more vacations requiring flying. We're happy that airlines are profitable, but not at the expense of comfort or navigating options that require very sophisticated knowledge."

Cons: "The customer service was mediocre. The selection of complementary beverage was minimal compared to other airlines. The staff are disgruntled and sometimes rude. There was always some sort of mechanical problems with the plane going to Puerto Plata and coming back. On the way to DR we had to divert to Miami because of problems with Navigation. They made us wait seven hours and gave us a voucher for food at the last minute. People had already bought food. I would not recommend United to none of my associates."

There was also NO room. I'm not a big person, but I didn't even have space to put my bad under the seat in front of me & sit comfortably. I flew back on JetBlue with the same amount of stuff and had ample room. It was interesting to see the difference."

Pros: "On time in spite of a late start Gate attendants were nice and helpful Comfortable as is possible in economy without spending a lot more money. Food (pretzels and drinks) as good as possible without spending more money. (I remember the good old days when you got much more in seating and food for your money)"
Cons: "This flight I had a window seat and I felt like I couldn't get up to stretch my legs or use the bathroom. (I am 70 and 4 hours is too long to sit) I usually get an isle seat but ALWAYS have to give up my bag at the gate - my bag which you tell me I can bring ON the plane with me. I do not like having to waste time claiming my bag that you told me I could have with me on the plane. I can pay $25 for that privilege!! The flight attendants always seem like they have their defenses up. One even held up the people trying to board so she could serve a drink to someone in first class. REALLY?? They couldn't wait till the plane was loaded?? I gave this flight a 'good' rating because it was mostly as good as it is going to get with economy passengers needs stripped to the bare minimum."

Cons: "My initial flight was cancelled, then they pushed everyone on to this flight which was then delayed more than 5 hours, then we sat on the tarmac for another hour, and since they crammed 2 flights of passengers on the plane they forced everyone to check their carry-on bags. The plane had 0 TVs or entertainment and the leg room was nonexistent. And on top of all of that, the customer service rep's at the gate were the least helpful people ever."

Pros: "Everything went smoothly and even got there 30 minutes ahead of schedule! Boston airport was excellent with bags already on the carrousel before we got to the baggage area!"
Cons: "Arrived well before the recommended 1 hour in advance for the domestic flight. Lines to move through their security wrapped around the terminal on multiple floors. Called customer service for assistance and they reported there was nothing they could do. Reminded them that it is their responsibility to manage these types of issues such as telling passenger to arrive 2 hours ahead if they have been aware of this chronic issue. They told me they had no way of contacting the airline staff at the airport to assist us Completely unprofessional, poor customer care and inefficient. Will not be flying with United out of Newark NJ again. If it weren't for the friendly passenger in line who let us move ahead we would have missed the flight. Just made it before the gate to the aircraft closed."
Pros: "Short flight and ran on time."
Cons: "While waiting at Newark on my layover, there was nobody at the gate to assist with seating assignment (which had not been assigned as my flight was oversold)... I didn't get my seat until stepping onto the plane/bridge. While there was nobody available to even tell us what was going on regarding seat assignments until 10 minutes before boarding, there were 4-6 United employees sitting in chairs right next to our gate chit chatting (being paid to do absolutely nothing), who couldn't even tell us what was going on (what a waste of resources)... Even the manager took 15 minutes to carefully set up the line walkways coming in to customer service... like it had never been done before and she had to reinvent the wheel."
Pros: "The flight attendant could not have been better. For the first time in my life, I had to ask for a seatbelt extender (and sit sideways-ish in the seat), and she very discretely got me one. The previous flight that day, I fit in the seat just fine (as usual) and had some extra length on my normal belt. This seat was definitely the smallest I'd ever been in, but I was thankful to that woman for being SUPER understanding and doing other things throughout the flight that made me more comfortable."
Cons: "Just that the seats seemed to have shrunk during my layover. Otherwise, this airline was fantastic!"
