The worst thing was that in transiting from the SAA flight to the Lufthansa flight we were obliged to go through security which seems unnecessary. The security staff were awful. Bullying, rude and totally unsympathetic to the fact that having brought water from the first plane to the second plane we had to either drink it or throw it away. One guy in particular, a tall greying man evoked the worst stereotypes of brutal secret policemen. Perhaps he formerly worked for Stasi or he was having testosterone problems. Totally unacceptable behaviour."
Cons: "It was Air Canada. Terrible service. Staff needs education on where to take travelers thru the immigration locations. Wasted time going to different locations and time is an essentence! Too many changes of staff from one location to another when it came with wheelchair assistance. One staff was on her personal phone!!! Had 3 different changes of hands then still did not get us to the right terminal, had to run to make the flight! Is that how you treat a 86 years old traveler?"

Delayed by 30 minutes....then the crew preboarded a sick lady and her travel companion. At some point crew decided she should not fly to LA, but the ladies wouldn’t get off plane! 45 minutes later and 4 RCMP show up to escort them off plane. Then we didn’t have any ground crew to get us off loading ramp. Finally got away 90 minutes or more after scheduled departure. Circled LA a few times before getting to land.... long flight with long delays!"

Cons: "My American partner's passport expires 2 months after our return to the US. Unfortunately, the French issued a year ago the following rule: to enter France, the foreign passport must not expire at least 3 months after the return date. British Airways let us fly to London, explaining this to us, how it would be on us if there were problems further down, and that we would have to get our luggage in London. We chose to fly thinking it would be OK, we had listened to an online person who had had the same problem and the French later told him they would have let him in, also I am myself a dual citizen of France and the US, plus I am autistic, an invisible disability (in my case) that makes it impossible for me to travel alone. I usually do not even say it since not much is understood -by those who do not have it- on how to accommodate it However in London BA did not allow my partner to go on. Due to the fact yesterday was Easter Monday, the American consulate in London was closed. We have spent the night in a nearby motel and now, the next day, I am waiting alone back at the airport with our 2 large suitcases while my partner is at the American consulate. We are poor, do not have phone, currency or charger for England, and I do not do well with stress, so it is difficult. Now we cannot easily reach one another. We hope to be able to fly on a standby basis (that's what BA told us we could hopefully do) later today. Sorry for this long letter, I hope it does not bore whoever reads it (if it is even read :). Be honest with your passengers about the delays .. we had a delay of over 6 hrs and found out later the carrier knew that but still checked us in with an impossible boarding time as the plane was still delayed in the air and on route.
Plane was 2 hours late. Luggage never got transferred in time. Now in Kuwait for full day with no clothes etc. ugh.
They charge for everything. The checked luggage you pay extra for but they dont even allow a ton of weight so you have to buy even more. Many overseas flights allows up to two bags. The food was horrible! For breakfast we got a cold croissant and yogurt. The last flight I took we got a hot breakfast sandwich, which would have been much better.
Cons: "Business class pods were uncomfortable compared to British Airways. Felt like I was sleeping on a very lumpy mattress."
Pros: "I’m not sure whether Air Canada has turned over a new leaf or Boeing built a better airplane. Maybe a bit of both. The ambiance is marvellous in the 787. The Flight attendants were attentive and thoughtful (remembering what I was drinking). We left snd landed on time. And the entertainment system is one of the best I’ve experienced."
Cons: "I couldn’t properly adjust my seat. That shouldn’t happen on such a new aircraft. Other than that, and the fact I couldn’t sleep, everything was good."

Cons: "Food for 9 h wish to be better: dinner was cold (you could feel that chicken was warmed in microwave, but pasta was just taken from fridge), breakfast was pathetic. In last seats to many overhead compartments was secured for equipment or occupied by crew"

Cons: "Boarding was a mess. I really wish A/C would implement some sensible system. Had to delay departure to unload someone's bag. We made up the time only to loop around LHR for 25min."
Pros: "Entertaintment system was good. I was happy with the selection of movies and last releases. No delays in flights which was a plus."
Cons: "Food was terrible. Portions were small, we were given a KitKat for dessert. No side salad or anything. No headphones were given prior to the flight. Long haul flights should always provide these. Most of the flight wasn’t Lufthansa but Air Canada instead. This should be advertised properly as I had no idea."
Pros: "Nothing much to complain about. For the section we were in, economy, the seats were pretty comfortable. Good space in front. Decent pitch. IFE was excellent. Staff were friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Good mix of younger and older staff. Food wasn’t bad. Cabin crew kept passengers up to date. Really can’t ask for anything more."
Cons: "Well. Maybe one small thing. Airflow from vents above were a bit weak. I think the newer planes are like that as our next leg on a smaller A319 had quite the powerful vents."
