Cons: "I had safety concerns on the flight from YVR to Toronto because seated in the exit row were two individuals who were brought to the gate assisted on a cart and had to wait for assistance to get on and off the flight. They had very poor ambulation which made me nervous as these people have agreed, by sitting in the exit row, that they are able and willing to help in the case of an emergency evacuation. This was not a safe situation and was noted by several passengers."

I would have to wait until the flight the next day. Even though I had no bags and there was still 35 minutes before take off. I also told her I knew I would be late and so spoke to someone from Westjet he night before. She smiled like I was lying to her. Lines should not be so black and white. If she would have just processed my ticket I would have had 35 minutes to get to my gate instead of 10. When you are flying with half full planes there should really be better ways to manage customer service."

Wasn't overly impressed with this airline. Also getting your itenairy online was also difficult. I had to change email information and call customer service which was in Spanish not English language. Then while lining up at the airport to process and check bags there was no computer to self serve and get through the line up faster and efficiently. The main clerk that helps with the line up was rude to passengers. Stating that on a domestic flight you need to be 2 hours ahead of boarding. Which most of us were a good 90 minutes to pre boarding. All of the struggles can be avoided with self serve check-in and prepaid bag check. The flight and crew were friendly and pleasant."

Cons: "To start.. due to your company combining two out going Toronto flights in Vancouver and then being late off the ground in Vancouver because if that we missed our connecting flight in Toronto to Ottawa. This in turn made us miss a very important appointment in Ottawa. I’m sure the company loves that they saved money by combining those flights however you flunked the test with me. All the corporate could care less about me missing my flight after they look at the bottom line but I will be taking my $1600 plus money elsewhere in the future because of the aggravation, frustration and I don’t care attitude that your company has provided me. I’ll I want to do is get back to Vancouver in my return flight hopefully put most likely on time with my two girls and forget that your company does exists. Thanks for the headaches and goodbye.."

After five minutes no one came so I went to the assistance desk and they said they hadn't been informed so they sent someone right away. If I hadn't been there to ask, I don't know how long my mom and dad would have sat there. 2. The man who wheeled my dad to the gate was very nice and he said he arranged for all of us to sit together, which was nice because I wasn't able to sit with my parents since we weren't able to choose the same row when we booked. When we boarded, we found out that the seats hadn't been changed, and the person who previously booked the seat beside my parents refused to move so I sat in the row beside them. These problems were minor but they highlighted a lack of communication between staff and the attendant dealing with us wasn't the most friendly either. I used to fly westjet in the early days when I still lived in Canada and I've noticed that the level of service has gone down. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity and space to comment. I pay premium pricing for the Plus seat so I have extra room to work. I chose not to turn off light in order to work, then flight attendants allowed the passenger to approach me. Really unacceptable to put me in uncomfortable interaction, making me play bad cop. I was sitting behind passengers talking loudly who were using profanity. My solution? Earphones. This is a commercial flight - offer passengers eye covers, some solution, or tell them to deal with it, or tell them to charter a private plane. Don’t tell us to sacrifice what we pay for, because you can’t do your job. Lost a loyal customer."

Pros: "The zone system seems to work well for boarding and the cabin crew on my flight to London were superb, helpful and polite to myself and others, despite a few impatient passengers."
Cons: "Was put on a Turkish airlines flight - landed in India 12 hours AFTER scheduled landing. My luggage did not reach India. After numerous calls got only 1 out of 2 of my bags ; 2nd bag still missing 1 week after landing in India WOW"

Pros: "They seemed like a good airline. It was my first time flying with them, and I got upgraded to business class on the very first flight of my trip. What a great first impression! They're quite service oriented, with attendants speaking multiple languages. The in-flight magazine was good but not available on every plane. The food was usually pretty good, and the live map was convenient."
Cons: "All of the flights were late (I had 6 of them on this trip, all thru Air Canada, and not a single one departed on time). All of my layovers were long, except one, which was planned to be about an hour but ended up being less than 30min. That one was a pain: had to go through Canadian customs and then run across the Toronto airport, but thankfully my next flight was still boarding - and ended up running late because they had to de-ice the plane. One of the flights ran late, and as we were reaching the gate a passenger felt the need to yell racist/ignorant comments at a fellow passenger who wouldn't sit down, and then the flight attendant - overall that was a real shame."
Cons: "I decided to pay a little extra for preferred seating (exit row). However, I was stuck in the baby row. I would have been better off not paying extra and staying in my original seat. I have nothing against babies (the baby in my row was quiet), don't get me wrong! It's just that this should be pointed out at the time of selecting a seat and it was not clear on the AC website. The crew moved my carry on several rows back without telling me (I put my bag in first into the overhead bin and then had to chase it down when I needed something). Not acceptable!"
Cons: "the good service at the check in and on the plane, or the great entertainment service, are all shadowed by Air Canada service for families with babies. We live in Vancouver and use frequently either Air canada or British Airways. We have a 1 year old baby, and on BA we automatically receive family seats for no extra charge, which have extra leg room and option for a bassinet. even with a 1 year old baby they have a special seat for that age, instead of a bassinet which fits only new born babies, so our 1 year old baby could sleep in a chair for hours on BA flight we just took from London to Tel Aviv. we got to London on a AC flight from Vancouver, where we weren't given family seats unless we paid more, so we had to spend 9.5 hours with a 1 YO baby at our lap, the baby of course was miserable, so we were miserable, but not just us, everyone in our vicinity had to suffer the baby's crying. On the BA flight the baby could sleep in a special chair for older babies, placed where usually a bassinet is placed, or sit on the floor next to our legs (because there's so much more leg room in the family seats), something the 1 YO babies need very much. I will recommend anyone with a baby to never fly with AC, especially when you have great alternatives like BA."
Cons: "Ended up missing this connecting flight to Calgary . Our plane left 45 minutes late from Phoenix because of a gas spill so when we got to Vancouver from Phoenix, we had to go through customs which took extra time. When we first landed in Vancouver and before we even got off the plane, we had 5 minutes to board onto our next flight which obviously was not going to happen. We rushed through customs and still might have been able to board our flight at the last possible minute except the staff at the airport led us to somehow get out of the secure area and have to go through security again before going to our gate. That took so much extra time. This never should have happened. When you get off the plane and have a connecting flight, there is always a way to get to the gate to board without having to go through security again. When we finally made it to our gate for our connecting flight, our plane had left and we were told to go to the air canada service desk. There was about 10 to 15 of us that had missed our connecting flight because of this so the 2 staff at the desk were trying to help us all but had to wait for their manager to come and confirm they could give us another flight which took quite a bit longer than I thought. We ended up getting booked on standby on a flight straight from Vancouver to Saskatoon in 2 hours which was our final destination, but never was told that because of all this headache, we should have grabbed our luggage. We thought our luggage was going to go on without us on the flight we missed but apparently if you do not get on your flight they don’t send your bags which makes sense. We also had thought for a second that maybe our luggage didn’t go on the flight from Vancouver to Calgary but if it didn’t then someone would most likely put it on the flight to Saskatoon. We should have asked about it but they should also have mentioned it when we were in a panic. And I understand you can’t put extra people on a flight that is booked, but what if the plane we were on standby for was full and we had to wait even longer .. could have taken us a day to get home when this wasn’t our fault we missed our flight, but was air Canada’s."
Cons: "I bought my ticket with Air Canadafrom Vancouver to Calgary then connected with Lufthansa from Calgary to London UK. Unknown to me I could not find the flight because it had been changed to an AC reference flight. With a very short time for the connection I did not know where to get my boarding pass as my flight with Lufthansa was nowhere referred to ! Not which gate to go . Why not put it in the ticket that Lufthansa and Air Canada work together and that both flights ref should show !! It would avoid a great deal of anxiety . Only offered 1 round if hot drinks over 9 hours ! Departure delayed by nearly 60 minutes"

Cons: "i am à French National ( France) living in UK. After a confusing conversation from the officer not understanding that I was not travelling to France ( assumption) I was asked to show evidence I had the right to enter UK !!!! I explained I lived there permanently ; I was then asked why French hate English so much!!! To which I explained only narrow minded people would believe so and that the style of her comment were not appropriate . I explained my children were half French half British and that her comment was offensive ."

Seats were pretty comfortable with sufficient leg room (I am tall), but if you are a wide person (or next to one) it would have been pretty cramped. Neither of my flights (to Newfoundland) were full so we all had a bit of extra space. Food was adequate but could be improved with fruit instead of dessert."

Food was the worse I have had on any flight. I would rather pay and have something edible. On 2 of my 3 flights the staff were so wrapped up in there own life's, they did not manage to finish the safety checks before taking there seat. Overall a poor experience."

Breakfast far worse, the 'continental breakfast' being a slice of banana loaf or something similar in plastic film and a pathetically small yoghurt. Crew didn't even serve pour row coffee or tea, totally overlooked us. My next flight was with SAA to Johannesburg - infinitely better food and attitude. Not that I expect this eeview to make any imnpression on Air Canada. THey are beyond help and frankly I don't care as I won't fly with them again."
Pros: "At $320usd per person per direction, you can't beat the price thanks to whatever magical gremlins Kayaks employs to fix prices for them...we flew Air Canada and we'e very pleased with their fleets new addition of 787 dream liners. Do yourself a favor and find a flight on this aircraft. From takeoff to landing, there was never a question about our safety and comfort, and the sleek, organic aesthetic of the dream liner somehow met a new standard for both ergonomy and tech/entertainment. I especially found the sub ports in my personal screen useful."

Cons: "The crying children in front of me, the hour and a half delay, and the late dinner service. Dinner came at 8:30, after staring at those with special meals eat and finish an hour before everyone else, they should wait with the rest of us. Breakfast was pretty lackluster. Their online app and check in is awful- they should hire new coders and UX designers to increase functionality."
Pros: "Comfortable, well maintained aircraft. Good entertainment. Friendly crew. Boarding process was well conceived. They separated seating zones into different queues, and turned back people who attempted to board out of order."
Cons: "Breakfast was underwhelming for an international flight. Dinner was just average. The crew seemed to have trouble responding to things like...people using restrooms late during the descent, passengers making themselves a little too "at home" and thereby disturbing their neighbors, and repeated chimes due to an errant elbow on a call button...the little things. They are things you don't notice when a crew is highly attentive, as you find on Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, or Air New Zealand. The crew were friendly, but not quite in charge."

Cons: "if i knew the name of the man i talked to at checkin i would make a complaint specifically about him. i lost my passport a few days before coming home and went to the united states consulate where they told me to bring a printed copy of my passport and the united states boarding patrol would let me back into the united states. the man at the checkin didn't want to let me through to even speak to the united states border patrol and told me the consulate was wrong. i almost missed my flight because of his stubborn arrogance. once past him i was able to explain what happened and show what identification I had and everyone was very nice to me."

Pros: "Entertainment choices on this flight/with this plane were endless, and you didn't have to pay extra for them like you do with Condor, for instance. The seats were relatively comfortable, in comparison to the way you are packed into some planes these days. Particularly liked the headrests that were adjustable side to side. It helped in this particular case the flight wasn't completely full, and so I had the seat next to me free."
