FAQs - booking Portugal flights

  • Can I fly non-stop from Vancouver to Lisbon?

It is unlikely that you will find a non-stop flight from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Lisbon Airport (LIS). However, you can find a number of affordable flights with just one connection. Air Transat stops in Toronto (YYZ), as does Porter Airlines. Air France and Delta stop in Paris (CDG) and Air Canada and Lufthansa stop in Montreal (YUL).

  • Can I catch a flight to Portugal from the Vancouver area from an airport other than Vancouver International Airport (YVR)?

You can sometimes find cheap flights from the Vancouver area to Portugal that depart from the Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) located in Abbotsford, a town just east of Vancouver. For instance, you can find a competitively priced flight from YXX to Lisbon (LIS) aboard WestJet paired with Wizz Aair UK that stops twice. The first job is in Calgary (YYC) and the second is in London with an airport change between Heathrow Airport (LHR) and London Luton Airport (LTN).

  • Do I need a visa to fly from Vancouver to Portugal?

If you are staying in Portugal for a total of 90 days or fewer within a 180-day period, you do not need a visa. However, your valid passport needs to retain its validity for a minimum of 3 months beyond the date of your departure from Portugal. Also, this passport must have at least two blank pages.

  • Does the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) provide any play areas?

At the Vancouver International Airport (YVR), parents can find an indoor children's play area in the International Terminal, located airside near Gate D54. You can sit and watch as your kids enjoy themselves before the long flight. And best of all, they will burn off excess energy to keep them from getting antsy on the plane.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Vancouver to Portugal?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Vancouver to Portugal.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Vancouver to Portugal?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight from Vancouver to Portugal is likely to change within 7 days, so travellers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Vancouver to Portugal?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly from Vancouver to Portugal with an airline and back with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Vancouver to Portugal?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying from Vancouver to Portugal up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

The only issue had when i mentioned about comfort was the man beside me was on the larger side and took about 1/3 of my seat where i was pressed against the wall/window of the plane for the trip.

The check-in staff, boarding staff, and flight crew were all very friendly. Really miss the Porter lounge in Ottawa.

Thanks for giving a beer to everyone in the seat infront of me and then telling me that I can’t have one because they are going to land. I guess I need to pay for a seat and then pick one in the very front of the plane

The flight was delayed by more than one hour. The terminal was consequently overcrowded and hot. We lost our car reservation and hit rush hour traffic in Boston, which added two hours stuck in traffic to our trip.

Awesome, the whole way through. Thank you, this is the new Canadian Airline benchmark.

We were given a complimentary seat upgrade which was so unexpected but so lovely!

Porter was excellent. Boarding was a breeze. The seats were a little uncomfortably but the overall trip was excellent.

Only packaged snacks were served. It was a flight at lunchtime and a hot meal would have been a great.

Reserve check-in was very slow compared to regular check-in. Internet was slow

Lavatories broke with an hour to go. At least we were on time.

Flight delayed any hour and couple of big gate changes

The pilot came out and chatted with the passengers. He explained why there was a slight delay. The crew was excellent. Very helpful. I had to buy meals for my whole family and they were in different seats, so the crew had to deal with that. They were very pleasant and accommodating and did a great job!

We were unable to land in Liberia. It was not the airline’s fault, but we had to be diverted to SJO.

We had things stolen from our luggage, we also were refused an upgrade on a flight that was not full.

When we left, it wasn't Great . People were drinking heavily, very disrespectful Extremely loud, the entire trip. I think the crew members, should have get their attention. Coming back was great.

I sat in the club. The seeds were fantastic. The meal was great and Entertainment was good. The crew was fantastic. I recommend it to everybody.

The food was small portions and not fresh. I was seated at the back of the plane so by the time the cart approached me most of the food options were sold out. The cabin crew was fantastic however.

Great flight and crew. Food isn't free and neither are headphones...

We were in economy class but paid for option Plus which offer you an extra snack after take off, free earplugs & blanket. The crew were very attentive. The comfort however wasn’t great, hard to be comfortable in such restraint place. Wasn’t able to sleep through out the 7hrs flight and was exhausted upon arrival.

The flights were on time and the crew was friendly and helpful. The food was ok. The seats were quite cramped and if the seat in front was tipped back there was very very little room. The entertainment was only on your own device and there was no usb charging

Flight delayed, missed connection, had to stay overnight. Next flight instead of our business class we were booked on the very back row. Second time this had happened in 2 months.

After several delays and being rebooked onto a layer flight, I had to speak to three AA agents for baggage claim to get an attendant. All were in foul mode and reluctant to assist or offer any assistance.

Had to go get beer myself from attendants in the back of the aircraft

Airlines must do something with overweight people... Maybe reserve a business class seat for them, or you could pay the consequences if someone overweight seat side by side to you in economy.

It is okay. Flight was on time to start and early to land

The luggage was completely damaged. It was ripped at the corner and the lock was stuck. We had to rip it open.

Due to the long delays and rescheduling boarding was horrible. However, the gate staff and the flight attendants went above and beyond to remedy our frustrations. They were able to handle every potential harsh situation with Grace, compassion and coolness of head. Kudos to the MIA Gate A12 and night crew of flight 1572 YYZ to MIA.

I liked nothing about this particular flight. Not only it was initially delayed for two hours due to late arrival of the plane, but the flight attendants were also very late to show up coming from a hotel (based on the announcement made by the gate agent). They did not arrive on another late flight, so why couldn't they be on time? Total disrespect of the passengers!! The plane itself was cramped and the seats super uncomfortable. To top off the poor experience, my video screen did not work. To summarize: flight delayed for 3 hours, cramped and no entertainment (for me).

They kept posting delaying flight due to maintenance issues from incoming arrival flight since 10am, the flight is supposed to depart at 3:45pm, after kept delay until 12am, they finally said it’s canceled. What were they doing for the last 13 hours? After 2am, they still don’t find hotel where we can stay. terrible experience!

The plane was very clean. The crew was excellent. The flight was delayed slightly but other than that no issues.

Flight was cancelled. Had to wait around the airport for 5.5 hrs for later flight. Entertainment system was not working.

My one complaint was that while we boarded using the standard enclosed gangway, when we arrived at SEATAC, the ground crew were slow to hook up the stairs. After reaching the tarmac we had to walk up a long ramp all outside in 35° weather. We just came from Bali and did not have warm weather clothes. This was in addition to having to collect our bags in Vancouver, take them through security again and then having to show our passports 4 more times all within the Air Canada section.

Economy middle seat was so narrow that I could not sit back comfortably with passengers on either side of me. Over the 9-hour flight, with my body slightly twisted most of that time, my previously-healthy left knee became very painful, even though I got up to walk multiple times. The knee is still painful 3 weeks later. Otherwise, it was a nice flight, but I was crippled over my entire vacation.

One leg of the flight arrived late which necessitated a rebooking on the next leg. Although there were no major weather events in play, best choice offered was a 7 hour wait in the Vancouver airport for a 4 hour totally packed red eye flight to Ottawa. No opportunities to return earlier via other major hubs like Toronto or Montreal. Felt very much like national routes were no longer well supported. Adding insult to injury, entertainment system for my seat was out of order. Thought I might use wi-fi, but discovered it would cost $10 per hour! Paid a lot for the flight as it was over the holiday period. Probably won't be doing that again.

Plane was smooth. More of a YVR issue, but the gate at departure was JAM PACKED with people and departing flights. Literally standing room only around the gates... This should be staggered or spread out better. Other than that, the flight was fine.

Your crew was so so so wonderful Only thing sound be great if you kept some phone chargers and converters rest 👌👌👌👌

The flight was terribly cold with no blankets available, not even any to purchase. They charge you for earphones and for food though they provide pretzels or a cookie with refreshments. The seat was very thin and generally uncomfortable. I would not use them again though the crew were very nice.

Delayed 3 hours. Gave us a food voucher for CA$15, to places that were already closed or not serving food. New plane did not have entertainment options. When disembarking, they had closed the direct route to baggage claim, rerouting us through another terminal 0.5miles away. Overall, a terrible experience.

Minimal food offered (crackers). Had to clean the seat with a wet wipe because of dried food.

Dealing with Air Canada was totally miserable and as a result of their website incompetence, lack of customer support, and total non-responsiveness we could not use this flight. We have made a formal complaint to Air Canada and are waiting to hear back, but if prior experience (more than one hour waits on the telephone with no response) is any guide, we wonder if we will ever hear back at all.

Aer Lingus was the actual airline so they handled everything professionally.

Business class area too small and chair and equipment not comfortable .

The A350 is a great plane but BA's seating was incredibly tight (eg compared to the same plane as flown by BA's partner Finnair) and with a middle seat it was very claustrophobic

The seats in airbus from LA to London are uncomfortable. They are too narrow. I am a slim person but felt cramped. The way the seats are laid out really hinders privacy. You are forced to look at the person next to you which is awkward, Also the entertainment on the same leg was limited. The crew was excellent and attentive and the food was decent. The seats on London to Delhi leg were way better. The crew again was very attentive and polite.

Flight was fine, food better than anticipated and flight attendants were helpful and friendly.

Staff and crew where very nice and friendly. Just need to improve the timming om the meal and beverages.

Staff with low service level, forgetful. Temperature at 15 C and after asking twice to raise the temperature the crew did nothing.

Flight was on time. The half sandwich offered doesn’t compare to the full meal offered by Egyptair. With BA there is no entertainment whilst on the Egyptair flight you get to choose form a range of movies and the flight map which I quite enjoy.

Lost bag - again. No help from staff at Nice - they have a handling agent who does nothing No emergency kit Try calling BA - they eventually found the bag - now on later flight. Trying to get someone to help in the short term is impossible. If I am unhappy - then I have to log it on a website. The agent said he was only able to help with future bookings - not assist in the chaos BA had caused. IF YOU WANT SERVICE WHEN THINGS GO WRONG - PICK ANYONE BUT BA. Personally - I'm joining ABBA (Anyone But BA) again.

Once again I purchase a business class ticket and the seat is exactly the same as cattle class, the only difference being is that BA install a janky table over the middle seat so there is somewhere to place your complimentary drink, the tray table is just big enough for the small tray, so if you are not concerned about getting fed and watered on the plane or getting access to the BA lounge I would save your money and fly cattle, PS the cabin crew were exceptional in every way, shame about the equipment
