The answers were defaulted with a star selection and I could not change it. Our air Canada flight for Vancouver to Maui was just OK. It was an Air Canada Jazz flight. Very uncomfortable seats (and we were in business class). The flight was uneventful and the service was great. I would change my answers above to 1 star for comfort; zero stars for entertainment. The movies were old and it was very hard to hear the shows with the ear buds they provided.

Good entertainment options

Sat near the back. Air Canada has installed new seating on this route that is absurdly close together, with truly the most inhospitable seat shape and unforgiving cushions. For a 5 hour flight, it was awful. My back hurts.

YUL
YVR
Okay 5.6

Smooth, on-time flight and okay service.

For relatively new aircraft, the comfort of AC’s 787-8 economy seats is not up to par. A frame cross member presses the back of the buttocks, there is minimal lower back support, and no protection from the hands and knees of passengers behind.

Mediocre 3.6

We paid $100 per person to choose our seats in advance and then when we boarded we had been bumped to a different location and my wife and I were sitting across the aisle from each other, unable to share a tablet to watch movies. The cabin crew was not helpful at all so we traded seats with another passenger who had also been bumped from his preferred seat. The entertainment system didn't work for an 11 hour flight.. are you kidding. We pressed the call button to see if it was just our inability to sign in but no crew member came. After 15 minutes the call light went off so we pushed it again, but the light was still on an hour later. We asked about it during the meal service and were very rudely dismissed. Long after meal service was finished we asked one more time to see if anything had changed and the crew member brought us a tablet to use that was loaded with movies. I'm not sure why they didn't do that earlier. Then 50 minutes before landing they literally pulled it out of our hands to store it away.

The crew was very attentive

As much as the flight was truly very good and the crew very friendly and helpful as much as the equipment (airplane, seats, entertainment) really shabby and certainly not worth the the 2500,00 $ I paid for a better seat. I could of flown with Air transat and get better than I got with Air Canada. I feel it was rip off. Quality - price not there . Please give your crew a better uniform. The ones they wear now is very sad and oldish looking. If I think this and am 67 years old, imagine what the younger generation thinks.

They should let everyone get to their seats and then deal with storing overhead baggage . Really annoying standing in the aisle waiting forever to get to your seat while people are trying to cram their carry ons into the overhead compartments .. or load the back of the plane first

Easy to change flight same day to one flight earlier.

Forced me to check in my (undersized) duffel bag carry on. Then forgot To load the bag onto the plane. WestJet cited a questionable and unlikely reason, that the bag was not loaded due to baggage to passenger weight ratio for safety reasons, even though flight was far from full with multiple empty rows. Plus there was a grand total of only approximately 12 pieces of baggage at the carousel. Also the plane’s auxiliary power generator was broken, which meant no a/c while on the tarmac before and after takeoff. Cabin was warm though not intolerable, however led to delays at both origin and destination airport due to having to wait for an external power supply truck. No in flight service due to supposed turbulence. Which would have been fine, except there really wasn’t much turbulence. Didn’t affect me, but my neighbor’s entertainment system was broken. However, these multiple issues and the broken power generator makes me wonder about what other maintenance issues have been overlooked or not addressed. Most of all I was offended by the clear lack of honesty about my baggage. If there really was a weight limit safety issue despite the plane being far from maximum capacity, then there are much bigger issues with the plane that makes me never want to fly WestJet again. But don’t insult your passengers by lying to cover up your carelessness. My baggage arrived on the following (my original) flight, but that which was delayed by nearly two hours. I’ve flown on United, Delta, Southwest, JetBlue, WowAir, AA, Alaskan, Virgin, American Airlines, United Airways, China Air, EVA, and Air Canada. So far, WestJet has been by far my worst experience.

Boarding went well. Although it was a full flight, they asked for volunteers to check in hand luggage (free of charge) I did, trying to help. But once I picked up my luggage and got to destination point, I noticed that 2 small items (gifts for family) had been pilfered. Not happy and will not volunteer to help again.

No food on plane, no entertainment,( unless you download the app) Above pilfered items

Sat near the back. Air Canada has installed new seating on this route that is absurdly close together, with truly the most inhospitable seat shape and unforgiving cushions. For a 5 hour flight, it was awful. My back hurts.

My seat wouldnt stay reclined. I spent the hole flight pressing the button back. During the night I needed the assistance of the flight atendent. I had to press the button three times so that anyone could come to me. Didnt find the crew very willing to repeat some needed information about the food too. The airplane was full and simply there werent enough toilets for this amout of people there. Honestly, it was a terrible experience.

Smooth, on-time flight and okay service.

For relatively new aircraft, the comfort of AC’s 787-8 economy seats is not up to par. A frame cross member presses the back of the buttocks, there is minimal lower back support, and no protection from the hands and knees of passengers behind.

Boarding went well. Although it was a full flight, they asked for volunteers to check in hand luggage (free of charge) I did, trying to help.

Prices are per person, are for e–tickets and include all taxes & fees in CAD.

We attempt to get accurate prices, however, prices are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.
