The car was great...but the service..
Pros: Got a nice car for good value
Cons: Service was very slow, took an hour to take the car. Had a problem with the child sit. They gave a wrong one and disnt do anythibg to help solve the problem. A car without a car sit when you have a child is like not having a car, and they even say they dobt garntee a sit which is crazy if they can garntee a car they must do the same for a sit.

Central London location a bit unclear. But worked fine.
Pros: Convenient to London. Not in the congestion zone.
Cons: All fine really. But initially could not work out where to leave the car. The garage had construction work going on, so things were a little hectic. No complaint really, some people could find this difficult.

Pros: The staff was polite and helpful.
Cons: We waited for the Hertz shuttle at the airport for over 25 minutes before finally just taking a cab. We try to call them and got no answer. We also tried to use their FaceTime at the kiosk inside the airport, but we're unable to reach them.

Bad Service. Unacceptable excuse not to hire the prebooked car.
Cons: Hertz non customer orientated policy and willingness to help a reputable and paying customer

Pros: The Ford Galaxy was the perfect vehicle for our travels.

The car was good - the staff - not so much.
Pros: The car was decent. Delivered the goods. We got what we expected.
Cons: The guy at the pickup wasn't nice at all. It seemed like he was doing us a favor the entire time, kept offering us absurd upgrades for a ridiculous amount of money, and overall left us with an extremely bad taste.

Pros: Car was fine. Pickup was quick - no waiting in line
Cons: I dropped the car off after less than 24 hours but Hertz insist I can not get a refund for the second (unused) day.

Pros: Got a brand-new Kia Rio that came with GPS, a huge convenience over the phone's GPS. Put nearly 2000 miles on it over a 3 week road trip in UK.
Cons: Lumbar support area could be better, we both had backache, but overall a minor issue.

I lost my money - terrible service. Car was not available
Cons: I rented a car on august 29th at 10am and I left after work to pick it up. Reservation was canceled and I was told there was nothing that could be done. Hertz is pointing to Kayak and did not try to help me in any way. I will not book through Kayak again. I lost my money and had to take an expensive Uber to Stansted Airport

Chaos at pick up
Cons: Not enough staff working deak and the person gave us the incorrect Bay to pick up car so we tried to drive the wrong CA out

Rude pickup, overcharged $50 making rental $279 for the day!
Pros: Clean car, clean office.
Cons: My rental came to $278.95 USD for one day (24h)! No damage/fees, just the rate and normal charges I was billed. Not good.

Pros: Nice Audi and everything was smooth and efficient. Zero slow downs or problems.
Cons: Price is always just over expectation on the final receipt. But considering the overall experience it was okay.

Under-age fee amount not posted by Kayak
Pros: Hertz did an excellent job with the rental. All very good.
Cons: Kayak didn't list the additional underage amount, despite it being a fixed rate by Hertz. Though we knew we would pay extra, we were shocked to find the amount was more than the daily rental fee itself. This was very transparent where Hertz was concerned, but not posted by Kayak.

Pros: Upgrade to Nissan SUV was nice but it's a big vehicle for a British back roads. Everyone seemed to be getting an SUV or Mercedes- thank goodness she didn't try to give us the latter.
Cons: Lengthy wait at pickup, no one in LGW North Terminal office at all for first 10+ min. She called for help and help came, though, and everyone was friendly.

Nice car, just don't have a problem!!
Pros: Pickup process at Heathrow was quick qnd easy.
Cons: Flat tire on the journey took them almost 24 hours to get fixed!

Cons: I missed my flight and was delayed a day. I called Hertz and they assured me my care would be held for 48 hours. When I got there they said that they had no more cars left. The woman at the desk was rude and did not try to help at all. I will never use Hertz again

Didn't rent the car
Pros: location was good, near airport with all the other rentals
Cons: but when we arrived, the rep told us the car we ordered was too small and tried to upsell us for an extra $300 a week. So we cancelled and got an Avis rental car at much better price. Beware that if you want an automatic instead of manual, they will charge $500 extra per week, so hope you can drive a standard

Pros: Nothing positve to say. They never gave me my car because my mother's name was listed as driver. I said it was a mistake and asked if they cud change it. They daid no. I asked to make a new booking.... they said no ee dont do that! Wow.

Waste of time
Cons: The price tripled once they added insurance. It would have been nice to know that before I went all the way out there to pick up the car.

Cons: I wasn't able to get a refund on my 4 day car rental after I decided I didn't want the car (I blew a tire 5 mins after leaving the rental office, so I returned it and was too jittery to accept the offer of a replacement car). But I couldn't get the refund because it went through Kayak.

Cons: When I needed to drop the key off in Southampton airport, the airport was close and the drop box was inside the main building in terminal but unfortunately, the gate of terminal was close as well. I had to call the security there to take the key from me and they dropped it off by them self instead of me.

Misleading Kayak car hire, will Not use again
Cons: Additional charges not highlighted when booking which is obviously misleading. Will not be using Kayak again for car hire or flight booking. In the UK it is compulsory to have car insurance and Kayak provided a misleading car hire quotation without insurance which is clearly pointless when a minimum form of cover needs to be added on anyhow. The app for car hire is therefore a complete waste of time and I will not be using it again. Friends/ colleagues will be receiving the same feedback also. I also did not understand the Hertz counter staff asking me had I ever been convicted for drink driving which I thought was rather odd. I do not drink drive an never have done however if I had been one of those lovely people that does I am sure I would not tell the counter staff such. I would have thought with it being 2017 the old man could be linked up to the DVLA to check driver convictions, it would be rather prudent.

Poor pickup experience, everything else great
Pros: dropoff customer service was great in Edinburgh - fast, easy, friendly, well explained.
Cons: Pickup agent was very unclear and tried to upsell an insurance policy despite me having purchased one already. Tried to fear-monger/guilt trip me into more. Told me the fuel purchase option was absolutely cheaper, likely would not have been so but definitely took advantage of lack of knowledge in a new and foreign country and it wasnt until the helpful, clear, and friendly pickup agent in Edinburgh that I realized how poor initial experience was. Also didnt explain the initial 200 pound charge was just a deposit, the pricing was very unclear and left me very annoyed that I thought I was paying way more than my initial upfront payment. Just a very poor first encounter after arriving from a long flight in a new country.

Extra Help Appreciated
Pros: Short line. Pleasant, engaging attitude. Asked whether I'd like an automatic? Thought for a moment and said "yes." They worked a deal, brought the car around in a flash, and actually sat with me to explain where everything was - and how to work the satnav. Haven't had that kind of attention in the US in a LONG time.

Pros: Nice office, good price.
Cons: Long line. The herz employee first refused giving us a car, saying that according to their policies, we can't rent it without an international or European driving license. When asked to show this requirement in their T&C, he retracted his claim and said he will make an "exception".

Convenient but a little tough to find
Pros: Location great to drop the car.
Cons: You really have to be ready to turn into their parking garage with London traffic. London traffic takes some getting use to.

Above & beyond
Pros: I messed up booking a day too early, rental cancelled, staff sorted out. New rental cost me more but not as much if I was a walk in customer. Staff service excellent.
Cons: Could not alter my original booking on line, very disappointed.

Had to upgrade, quadrupled my rate.
Pros: They had a car available that fit 4 of us and our luggage- an automatic Volvo station wagon. Friendly service, short wait in line (5 mins).
Cons: Long wait for shuttle (15 mins). When we arrived and realized we had too small a car, the next size upgrade was over 4 times the Kayak rate! There was gum stuck to the door handle, gross!

Horrible customer service.
Pros: Car was great, new and clean.
Cons: Watch out for the staff that process your order. They are rude and pushy about selling you extra stuff you don't need and may not want. Certainly not appreciated after an over night flight with 3 kids which they knew and we're trying to take advantage of.
