Pros: The rooms are little pods, but really fine for the price. Very clean. They are having issues with the some of the iPads that control room temp, lights, etc, but assured me this was a temporary glitch, as this was a new batch. The lobby is amazing and the location stellar. The staff might be the nicest and friendliest of any hotel I've ever stayed in. Inexpensive and tasty buffet breakfast at communal tables gives you the chance to chat with lovely people from all over the world. Rooftop bar has beautiful views.
Cons: Just the iPad situation, and that was very minor compared to all the positives. The controls were still functional, so no real problem on my end. Just had to frequently reboot.

Pros: Easy walk over to Times Square. The room was beautiful and I really felt like I got a great deal staying here! It's New York so of course it was a tight fit, but our family of four in the double deluxe room never felt too crowded. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood was close enough to Subways and other destinations, but far enough from all the action and noise. Will definitely remember this place the next time I visit New York!

Cons: The rooms were minimalist, which is okay because you aren’t there much. However, the biggest problem we had was that our key demagnetized EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. We put it in different pockets, away from cell phones, we were very careful because it got SO ANNOYING to have to trek back to the desk from the 17th floor every time we went back to the room. Our subway cards didn’t demagnetize stored the same way. I stay in hotels frequently at all price points and have never had this consistent a problem with room access. By the end of the trip I thought I should just probably go wait in the front desk line every time I walked through the lobby just to avoid the trip back down.

Lots of restaurants close by and close to subway . Our flight was early and they gave us a room at 9:30am at no extra charge . We will definitiley stay there again.

Pros: The hotel is a landmark. It is in a great location and gives great access to Central Park. It is also not too far of a walk to the theater district. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable.
Cons: The staff seemed indifferent. The revolving door wasn't working, so we had to go in through side doors. The doormen (sometimes as many as three) just stood around watching, not helping at all with the doors, which were heavy. Breakfast in the lobby: we were seated and I asked the purpose seating us to bring coffee. He said the server would be right with us. After 5 minutes there was no server to been seen. Why didn't the person seating us just bring us coffee? Very mediocre attitude. This hotel was not at all worth the price we paid.

Pros: Everything was great about the Plaza! The hotel staff was so nice. They were always asking us how we were doing and if we needed anything. Our room was amazing! Very luxurious! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The mini bar was filled with all kinds of drinks and snacks. I think our favorite part was the bathroom. The walk in shower with the huge shower head was ginormous! The tub was rather large too! Everything was very very clean. It felt like it was brand new and we were the first people to stay in it! The hotel location was great also. Central Park and a subway station is right across the street so it was quite easy going to and from the Yankees games. We will definitely stay at the Plaza again!

Pros: I've stayed in so many NY hotels over the years and this one was very good, great room sizes for a Manhattan hotel, good room decor and excellent and quiet air con (good when 35c outside)! Desk to work at and plenty of plug sockets to charge gadets etc. Great location 5 mins walk to Abrrcrombie and Lower 5th Avenue, good Irish bar next door, diner opposite and coffee shops close by. Easy to get taxis outside too. Friendly and efficient front desk staff

Cons: For the price they could have included wifi for free and not charge $10.00 per day per phone and iPad. Also couldn't get the room temperature to regulate...it was either too cod or too hot. Also we paid extra for a "city view" and got a room that was only half way to top and we could barely see anything..stuck in a recessed nook and go see only building across the street. Our daughter's room was inside view room but had better views than our room. Naldo we could have had breakfast there for $32.00 per person...no breakfast is that good! The bed was not made well...the bottom sheet stopped 8-10 inches before the end of the bed...feet touched mattress protector and top sheet didn't stay in place...they need to get better sized sheets.

Cons: The hotel was overpriced for the general facilities on offer. Pay 30 dollars for a fridge when I'm paying x hundred a night? Kidding? No real dedicated space for guests to relax. Free wifi was not free as it was within service charge. This pricing policy really took facilities down to equivalent of a 2 star hotel or a B and B! Reception staff had an unhelpful attitude. This was on complete contrast to our stays in Boston and DC. Wholly unimpressed. it was almost like the abrasive attitude of Tines Square had pervaded the customer service.

Cons: While the staff was nice, they didn't do a darn thing. A smile and a kind word does not make a bed. I know this because one day we came back to a room that hadn't been serviced, reasons still unclear. We became quite close to Terrance, the front desk agent at night. Pleasant as can be, but it took 3 calls to get some towels delivered. We asked for tissues, and no joke- were handed a wad of tissues. Guess the boxes are for special people? Shampoo is also held in the vault. The fan in the bathroom didn't work so everything just steamed up. The shower was broken and given it's a wall of glass, it's a serious safety hazard. It also meant the water just poured out of the shower and puddled on the floor. A real problem when you can't get an extra towel. The wallpaper is peeling up and there was mold, likely do to the broken vent. The window in the room was broken. We figured it was safe with our son cause it really wouldn't open, but it also didn't quite close. The black out curtains were the dirtiest thing I've ever seen and had large (obvious) rips in them. Oh, and to top it all off they did maintenance on the plumbing and shut off the hot water. Guess how I found that out? Nope, not through a phone call or a note slipped under the door. But only once I was in the shower and the water just wouldn't get hot. I paid over $300 a night for this. I will literally never return to this location, nor will I stay in another Crown Plaza.

Pros: Great hotel if you're a tourist and want to be in Times Square - easy walking distance to many attractions and not too far can / uber ride to others. The rooms were nice and clean, the maids always bought us new soaps, razors, toothpaste, towels etc.
Cons: some of the staff are seriously awful. My partner has a severe allergy to nuts, and we had issues with two waiters there who seemed preoccupied and had to ask a manager to go and confirm if there was nuts in a dish she wanted for dinner or not. The waiter made us feel awful and then progressively got ruder (getting in our faces, yelling, etc) after the manager had been involved. We did get given a few free drinks and a box of chocolates from management (although she couldn't have the chocolates due to nuts) But otherwise we had a lovely stay, only ruined by a few staff members who need to learn if you work in a service job it's part of your job to at least TRY and be polite and understanding!

Service is friendly and courteous. Bell Captain kept our bags for us after checkout so we could do a bit of sight-seeing until we had to go to the airport. When it was time to get our bags, he walked them down to the taxi stand for us and made sure we had a cab.

Cons: There were hardly any amenities. No continental breakfast or coffee. There wasn't even a coffee maker or refrigerator in the hotel room. Room service was only provided by an overpriced cafe called Harvest Cafe, which only sold pre-made salads and sandwiches. Granted, it is NYC, but if you're traveling alone, or want a quick dinner, then this isn't the place for you.

Pros: My stay at The Belvedere was wonderful! It was so clean and cute. I lived in NY for two years and my hotel room was 2x the size of my old bedroom up there -- very spacious for NY standards. Great view of the city and great location right next to the theater district. I would definitely recommend staying there. They asked me what type of room I wanted (king bed with a view) and I got it! Additionally, I got there early and they let me check in early! I'll definitely be going back.

Cons: When we checked in we were only given a choice of a room on the 8th floor or told the 16th floor was more quite, so we took 16th floor. The room was so small and old the next day we were going to leave. At this time I also told the front desk I was a travel agent and have sent lots of clients to this hotel only it was so different than the larger more modern rooms I had before. At that point I was told uou did have nicer larger rooms and I would have to pay $35 plus tax more per day. So we decided to change rooms and we very happy we did. This shouldn't happen because we were late the night before and the nicer rooms were still available, we should have been given this without any additional charge. To us this was not right plus the picture we saw of the room when we booked was the room we finally received,I told my friend see the rooms are nice when we booked on line, they I was embarrassed when we got to the room. Next time I'll check the other 3/4 hotels in the area first. Plus if I send clients to the Belvedere Hotel I'll have to tell them about the rooms they will not want and make sure they ask for the recently remodeled rooms. Pros: The hotel seem to anticipate the big and little things an experienced traveller expects and as i found out, even unusual requests . My companion is superstitious about room numbers and the front desk changed our rooms with a smile as if they do this all the time. Most of all, the hotel is very well located. it is close to the shows and restaurants that bring you to new york in the first place.
Cons: The staff took a long time to get our bags from storage when we checked out. We did not miss our connection but i was disappointed for the hotel because they were doing a really good job. Overall however, I give the Belvedere my highest recommendation.

We opted to take the bus home when catching our flight appeared it was going to be too expensive or too complicated for newbies to NYC. Pros: We selected an ADA access double double executive room, which was spacious, extra nice since space in NYC is at a premium. The location is away from the madness of Times Square, but so very close that you are not hiking to see the shows. The shower was probably my favorite feature, with a fixed shower head and separate hand-held unit. I wish all units had those, not just the ADA ones. The beds are very comfy, and the linens fresh. I had just seen that Daily Mail report of beds being remade instead of getting fresh sheets, so I was paying attention to that! The best part of a stay at the Belvedere is the staff. To a person, they are all knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant. I can't wait to see them all again on my next stay.

It was 3 degrees outside when we stayed there and yet we had to open the window just to cool down the room to a reasonable temperature; even then, it was uncomfortably hot. The front desk said they would send an engineer to our room to fix the heat but no one ever came. The hotel staff was generally friendly but not extremely helpful. When we left, the concierge said they would send a bag cart and bell-hop to our room to take our bags down to our car, again, no one ever showed up - not a big deal, we can carry our own bags, but that's not service worthy of a 'four-star' hotel in NYC.

On the day of departure, I was late for the shuttle, since at least 15 minutes wait for the elevator to come down with luggage - only one elevator was operating! Reception explained that the hotel is in the process of reconstruction. But there was not warning about this on the site! Very disappointed!

Cons: I was extremely unsatisfied with the service at the hotel. When I first arrived in my hotel room I found that the bathroom door knob was somewhat broken and the toilet handle was difficult to use making it hard to flush at times. My room was supposed to come with a coffee maker in it and there was not one. I was not upset with that fact but what did upset me was that when I called to have one delivered, I was told that one would be brought up right away. This however was not the case, I called the front desk again about 20 or so minutes later and they apologized and told me one would be sent up. Another 15 minutes went by and I was still kept waiting for the coffee maker. I called the front desk for a third time and they transferred me somewhere in the hotel where I was told that the person that was to bring the coffee went on lunch, considering I called way before noon this was very frustrating. After waiting a whole hour I finally received the coffee machine and to my surprise was just a simple keurig machine that anyone could of brought up to my room. Another issue that I faced here was upon checking out. I had called the front desk an hour and a half before it was time to check out to have them send security to my room because the safe was no longer working and to have them bring my car out of the parking garage, they asked for my ticket number which was to be given to me by the doorman at my arrival, sadly no such ticket was given to me when the doorman took my car.The front desk basically told me there was nothing they could do without the ticket number and sent my call to the doorman for him to assist me. I waited on the line and the phone just continued to ring with no response. I called back to the front desk after a period of time because I was still waiting for security to open the safe and to get the car issue settled and ended up being transferred from person to person and no one was helping me locate my car. It became evident that I would have to go to the front desk to get this handle because nothing was getting handled. At the desk they insisted that I had received a ticket, which was 100 percent false if I had received the ticket I wouldn't have been in the situation I was in. It wasn't until a manager came over and took over and helped my situation by having the doorman go an physically check the lot for my car, and when he returned I was again forced to wait at least another half an hour to get my car which I didn't quite understand why it wasn't taken out of the lot while the doorman was already over there. I really am not one to complain but when I'm paying over 500 dollars to stay at a hotel I'd expect my service to be much better than the way I was treated.

In June 2016, We were put in a "courtyard room (graveyard)" because of the price that we paid. If we spent $75 more a night they would upgrade us to a normal room. This room had a window but barely let in any natural light. You couldn't see what the weather was like until you went outside. The bathroom was so tiny that the only way 2 people could be in there at the same time was if someone was in the shower and the other at the sink. The shower was a tiny stall! I couldn't bath without my elbows hitting the walls. Although, the similar price in 2014 gave us an amazing room with a street view and a huge bathroom (no need to upgrade). The staff on this last trip were friendly but seemed to be rushed. Not the cozy vibe that we had in 2014.

I spoke with 2 receptionists before and after check-in/check-out and they were both dismissive to my questions refusing to answer simple questions like where can I find certain amenities. Thanks." No one cared about this. The bottle was still empty. 3. Airconditioner was broken. Luckily the front desk changed a room for me. This is the worst experience I have in NYC. My recommendation is that a description of the rooms is more explicitly described when booking the site. The hotel receptionist offered free drinks and I was provided a 10% discount on the rooms by the 3rd party booking agency. Overall my stay was okay; however, by the third day, the hotel had run out of towels.

Pros: We were a couple with my 86 year old mother. Gorgeous lobby with a place to sit if you need to wait for your room. We liked the premium suite which has one double bed and two bunks. The bunks are separated from the double. The bathroom separates the bedding into two separate rooms, so allowed us privacy. The room was clean and the suites include a small refrigerator, in addition to a coffee maker. We found the room suitable for an excellent stay in the city, allowing mother to go with us to the broadway shows, within walking distance. We got a fantastic deal on the nightly rate. The location can't get any better than this.

I suppose the large five star chain hotels will insulate their windows more. Bring earplugs if you are affected by noise. Yes, it's an art to keep the floor from getting wet due to the design of the shower. However, we were able to position the shower head to shoot left onto the shower wall which helped a lot. This is a small problem. We found the housekeepers amiable and helpful when approached. Staff were mainly professional --- neither friendly, nor unfriendly. The concierge was more approachable and kind.

Pros: The newly renovated contemporary hotel is exceptionally clean, and comfortable. Our standard room was on the 11th floor and was very quiet with natural window light during daylight hours and blackout shades provided darkness for sleeping. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The location is great being close to Times Square and Broadway with a bit less activity in the immediate hotel entrance area.
Cons: The bathroom shower has a 1/2 glass enclosure which does not keep the water in the shower area, and the room could used another mirror in the sleeping area.

Pros: The hotel is very well-located. It's close to Rockefeller Plaza, Times Square, Grand Central Station, MOMA and Central Park. All these are a short walk away. Saks 5th Avenue and Rockefeller Plaza are across the road, the Apple Store and Bloomingdales are also close. It's not quite so well-located for the Guggenheim and the Frick Galleries. There is a much longer walk to these places, but if you don't mind taking a taxi or an Uber, it's fine. The main public spaces have their original 1920s decoration and are lovely! We got a great value deal, which made the hotel a steal!
Cons: The bathroom in our standard room was tiny. Literally not enough room to swing a cat. Not good enough for a hotel of this quality. The main bedroom was easily large enough to make the bathroom bigger. It's possibly the smallest bathroom I've ever had in any hotel. I'm not sure it's possible to make it any smaller and still be functional. Decoration of the corridors and rooms is not up to the standard of the entrance lobby, and the bars. It's not bad, it's just pretty characterless by comparison not only with the rest of the hotel, but also of comparable hotels. It's tasteful, well-maintained and spotlessly clean, but just very... characterless... There is no free wifi! I was amazed at this. This is one thing that you expect at every hotel, even cheap ones. Trying to charge $15 for it is a rip-off. Unfortunately, the room was noisy. You expect traffic noise in New York, and you get used to it. You don't expect constant plant noise from the Kitchen. If we had spent longer in the room, this may have been a real problem for us. The staff are great. the hotel is well-staffed and they are all professional, courteous and attentive. Based on our short stay, I would definitely recommend the Lotte Palace.

Pros: The location of the hotel is perfect, On the edge of Central Park minutes from 5th avenue shopping. There are some restaurants nearby too. If you are interested in doing something touristy the horse and carriage rides are right outside.

On top of that they charged me a $35.00 "facilities fee" which was for WiFi, cocktail happy hour, and other amenities. I used the WiFi which worked fine but the cocktail happy hour was a disaster, very disorganized and the staff wasn't super pleasant. I wish I had the choice of adding on these extras. Also, upon check-in the key machine was not working so I was not authorized a room key. Each time I needed to go into my room I had to ask someone; one time I was waiting in the hallway for 30 minutes until someone showed up. It could've been a better experience.

This room had gum on the floor, the bathroom looked dirty, the carpet was disgusting and discolored, overall it needed to be updated. I complained and they ignored my reservation, again, and put me in another double room. This room was slightly updated, but still not what I paid for! After returning a third time, they finally gave me the King room I paid for, but it was almost as disgusting as the first room. The lobby and the location were the best part of the hotel. I would also like to mention their staff: warming and friendly.

On top of that the hotel is pretty noisy due to a club they run downstairs, thus you should bring some earplugs with you if you wanna sleep. Lastly I found a cockroach in their gym (yikes). Food service was great (CJ was the sweet guy who brought my breakfast), and if you miss the kitchen hrs they'll recommend you a few places that'll deliver food to your room. Great bar with good bartenders(ask for Eric). Also ask for the total price of each service you request so you know what you'll be charged for, overall really good staff.

Pros: You are half a block from the heart of Times Square. Plenty of choices for dining and an easy walk to the attractions around Times Square and the theaters.The lobby of the hotel was constantly full of people hanging out so it had a decent vibe.
Cons: I'm used to NY-sized (tiny) rooms but this one was definitely on the smaller end of tiny. The W in Times Square was the only smaller room I've been in. The bathroom is barely utilitarian and water pressure was pretty much nil. Bath amenities were sparse. Coming back to my room one day, there was a bar of soap sitting in the hallway which must have been dropped by the cleaning staff. There was an interesting mirror that purported to reveal the weather on it, but it was pessimistic and always said "rain" even when it wasn't raining. It did finally change to the correct "sun" display toward the end of our stay so it wasn't broken. Its a fairly typical NY room, but for the money unless you need to be in that location there are better values in town. It was odd that we never saw a valet and ended up parking the car ourselves down the street. They seem to advertise valet service but we never saw it.

Cons: Awful from start to finish. After 3 room changes because of the continued wrong bed size we finally said fine. Room wasn't very clean, old worn carpeting, phone didn't work, one plug for charging. One night charged 65 for car next night charged 75. We have a Nissan rouge..not an oversized vehicle abs same car both nights. Desk said it's up to the garage. It also took nearly 45 min to get car both times. Would never stay or suggest this hotel again.

Cons: I cannot recommend this hotel at all. The room was way smaller than expected - not very clean either. The bed hat the wrong size. We booked a king size bed and got a queen size bed instead. The carpet was filthy, the AC and the safe were both broken and the heat regulation in the shower came off. The AC started in the late evening on its own cooling down the room to 60°F. Therefore, we called the front desk. The person working there was simply rude. We had to fight for an additional blanket. Storing the luggage in the baggage room was charged additionally. I never experienced such poorly service in a hotel.

The bed curtain, the window curtain and the walls have tons of smudges and stains on them. Overall the room did not feel very clean. And be prepared for the worlds smallest euro style bathroom.

Pros: All of the housekeepers very nice, thorough, and prompt. Some of the doorman were exceptionally nice but not all. I was never once able to get through to room service. If I was supposed to leave a message in order to order something from room service I feel I should've been informed that that's how it works. I had maintenance in my room four times in the first couple of days to fix my heater before giving up and using a space heater. The last time I had them in here the maintenance man argued with me and made it seem like I was doing something wrong by calling them every shift and I am still very angry about that attitude and the heater still does not work. There was no clock But there was supposed to be one. There is no coffee in the room. There are no ice buckets in the room. There is no place to plug in a hairdryer in front of a mirror because of the location of the outlet in the bathroom, it's impossible to plug in the hairdryer and the only other mirror has no plug anywhere near it.
Cons: Please read above. I put likes and dislikes altogether When I return I will consider coming back here but I will also strongly consider other hotels in this excellent area.

Pros: Room was clean, bathroom was clean. If you are looking for a decent hotel in Times Square, this is probably the best bet for your money. I requested to be on a higher floor so that techno music would not echo into our room, and this request was granted.
Cons: Lobby's dark lounge atmosphere with non-stop music makes the lobby a teenager's dream, and swarms of high school age kids were there at all times. So if you are a teenager, this is a good thing, not a bad thing at all. Also: small rooms really are for SLEEPING only. This would be a terrible place for a person to go on business, with the hope of doing some work in his room.

Cons: When I get there, they booked me in a queen bed room when I paid for a king bed room. I did not realize until I went to the actual room. Then I went downstairs to get re-booked to the right room and the lady at the counter said that I was wrong, and she was sure that I booked a queen room. I had to show her the confirmation paper to prove that I booked the king bed room. Anyways, I had to wait more than 2 hours to get my room again, and it would've taken longer if I did not actually go to the counter and remind the manager that I was waiting for the room. When I finally get the room, I realize that there is a big nasty white splash of some white-ish liquid that seemed to have been there for a long time. Not only that, the pillow covers and parts of the sheets were dirty with red stains. Also, I had to pay separately for wi-fi per day, as well as paying for parking when Kayak said that parking was included. In conclusion, I am never booking a room in this hotel again.

Pros: 1) When I requested a room change (after being angry for 30 minutes), they finally let me change to a room with a working air conditioner. This room was slightly bigger and had a view of Times Square, which wasn't too bad. If I didn't have to go through the giant headache of having a crappy room in the first place, I would have given them 2 stars instead of 1.
Cons: 1) The entrance is scary. It's dark and it's a hole in the wall. The lobby doesn't seem very secure for random entrances. 2) The day guy is very mean and does not offer good service. He really ruined my day. You would expect people at the front desk would at least smile. The night guy wasn't too bad. 3) Going up the stairs freaks you out. Very creaky. Some people like that sort of thing, saying it has "character" but I just felt like it was going to collapse at any point. 4) When I open the door, I'm greeted to the tiniest air conditioning unit I have ever seen in my life. Which wasn't working either. On a hot summer day. That room felt like an oven. 5) The room had no ventilation, no view, it was dark, the beds were tiny and dirty, the room was uncomfortable, the bathroom was really small. This room was pretty much a small step up from a hostal.

In an attempt, I presume, to seal a leak, just cement had been plastered around the shower tray. I made the mistake of leaving a rucksack on the floor, with a chocolate bar, unopened, in the morning, the plastic bag, chocolate bar wrapper and some of the chocolate had been nibbled. My advice would be to remove this place( I could dignify as a hotel) from all listings. If I'd been able to afford to, I would not have stayed after the first night.

Missing grout in the bathroom, yellowing bathtub with soft spots, faucets missing screws and a thermostat that only knows "very warm", despite seeing it to 65 degrees (18C), no fan in the bathroom, are just a few of the issues. The parking garage under the Hotel is operated by a different company and is a disaster, both pulling in and especially when leaving. It took over an hour to get our car back, once ordered. Wr were told by others that this was common there.

Cons: We booked our stay online (as I’m sure most do). This was our first stay at The Manhattan but not our first visit to NYC. The website pictures advertised updated, modern facilities, which was true of the lobby. However, once you get off the elevator, you realize the rest of the hotel (minus one floor apparently) has not ever been renovated. Upon walking into our room, we notice that the wallpaper and paint are peeling, the furniture is chipped, the bathroom is covered in pale pink tile and includes a fluorescent light box is not even bright enough to put your makeup on. After placing a call to the front desk, we realize this is typical of a “standard” room. The modern and updated pictures on the website actually reflect the “executive” room. We upgraded as soon as a room was available, and the facilities were much more consistent with what we expected. However, we had to then deal with the thermostat being defective, so our stay didn’t brighten up that much. We will not be staying here again.

Cons: This hotel is very dirty and very dated. Mold is in the shower and tub surround. Carpet and walls are filthy. Check bed for bed bugs but didn't find any - THANK GOODNESS. The windows haven't been cleaned in years!!!!!!! Takes forever to get an elevator to the Lobby and you will stop on every floor with people piling on the elevator because they are sick of waiting for one! It took us 26 minutes to get down to the lobby one eveving. Oscar Jacques and Allison are very nice but other than that it's disgusting. It has no place to get food after breakfast. No room service. Vending machines are sold out and gives you back change for your dollars but only takes dollars the change slots are glued shut so you can't get anything!!! It was the ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!!!!! Electrical outlets do not work along with some of the lights!!!!

The housekeeping people really needs to be trained to be quiet and not to shout across the hallway and slam doors in the morning. They also forget to refill lotion/coffee. Cons: 1. No communication by hotel staff. They tried to place us in a room that is half the size of a regular room without even telling us when we checked in. We found about this when we actually entered the room. After that we had to reconcile this very uncomfortable and unexpected experience. 2. Hotel management spent 10 minutes explaining how they cannot keep the fully paid room and that upon check in they will place and assign the room of their availability. Why bother and pay in advance if there is no guarantee? 3. We didn't feel hospitality was there at all. It truly came across as just another place interested in making money rather than building long lasting experience 4. Hotel is definitely run down and it stinks super bad. 5. We would not recommend this hotel and definitely would not have given it 3 stars. Stay some place else!

Cons: The hotel is tired and worn. It needs an injection of cash to update and refresh the rooms and fixtures. It wasn't the worst place to stay because it was clean and the location was great. The front desk was understaffed at both check-in and check-out. This created long lines and long waits. We had to wait an hour for our room to be ready because they were behind on their turn-overs and we arrived at 8PM. They need to hire more staff for peak times.

Pros: Very good, central location on 7th Avenue. Just a few blocks from Times Square, Central Park, immediately adjacent to Broadway...can easily walk (or use subway) to anywhere in Midtown. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Had a decent breakfast bar in the lobby with very kind, courteous employees staffing it. Was an enjoyable visit every morning, though it's primarily only got muffins, fruit, and coffee.
Cons: Room was very minimalist and small. Bed was not particularly comfortable. TV only has a few channels and reception was fuzzy on about half of them. Wi-fi is not free - costs roughly $15 per day, less if you buy several days' worth of usage up front. Noise from the street below was pretty noticeable; it would have been very difficult to tune it out completely had I not been using ear plugs. Basically, it's cheaper than the other (nicer, I would assume) hotels in the area, but the location could make it worthwhile if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room...and it's NYC, so why would you? Spend a lot of time out in Manhattan, making use of the great location, and you won't mind the facilities as much.

Cons: Our room smelled extremely bad & even the man who brought up our bags noticed it & said something to us about how strong it was. It smelled strongly of weed. That smell lasted from when we entered our room until check out, our entire stay. We even kept the windows open. The only reason I didn’t complain about it was because we had adjoining rooms with the rest of our family & we wanted to be together. Also, the room is in need of updating especially the bathroom. The water in bathroom didn’t drain properly either. As well as the hallways on the other floors. It seems as if the only update was done in the main floor lobby because once you take the elevator up and the doors open it’s like you’re in a motel. The rest of the hotel is dingy & dirty. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and I could not get comfortable with springs stabbing my back all night.
