The service, room, restaurant, location were excellent.
The rooms were cute. Not to small. Stayed here for New Year's Eve. Wanted a bucket of ice for the room so my wife and I could keep a bottle of champagne cold. They actually charged us $5 for the bucket of ice. Not even Motel 6 charges for ice. Room was also very hot and a lot of noise from the street and hallway. Bed hard and uncomfortable.
Very clean, large bathroom and super comfy bed!
The hotel was clearly recently redecorated to be hip and modern. I did not realize my single room would consist of a twin bed in a 6 by 10 room. It was half the room pictured. There was no closet, just some small drawers tucked behind the bed. They do an admiralable job with space efficiency but you should know going in how small the space is.
Nice staff, comfortable mattress and linens, great shower, funky style and great location - walk to everything and close to subway Ultra small bathroom sink and counter, A/C didn't cool the room below 72 even with the thermostat turned down to 60. Bed also on a platform, and corner of the base jutted out far enough that I whacked my shins on it to the point of heavy bruises - totally my fault but just beware!!
Just entrance Very small space of room, very expensive if you think about cost vs. benefits. Even breakfast of us$ 24,50 and us$ 6,53 for a bottle of water???? The most expensive experience that I had when I am trevelling all around the world during last 20 years!!!!!!!
The Ace is very much a design, look, overall-feel type of place. It is modern, swanky, functional, young, simple all at once. The lobby was a dimly-lit bar and the music was a little loud. You couldn't hear it any where else. There are two restaurants and a coffee shop accessible from the lobby. Down the stairs is a workout room. Our room was the smallest available, but it was the space we needed. The room had a lingering locker room smell, but I'm guessing that was from the previous guest. It improved the following day. The pillows were great, the mattress sagged a little in the center. There was a small rack by the bathroom for hanging things. I thought the room could really use additional hooks, but it would probably interrupt their painstakingly graphic look and clean design. Don't buy from the courtesy bar. Yikes. The prices are steep. Bit of musky smell to the room. Mattress sagged a little. Room could use hooks for clothing- more than what they provided.
So much character it hurts. Very cool especially the lobby facilities. The day I was there ... No hot water.
Very convenient location. Excellent service. Clean and cozy room.
This hotel is totally fine if you just need a good, clean and reliable place to stay. Nothing's about it is amazing or special but nothing is bad (except that the elevators weren't working which meant a 8 story climb up the stairs).
Great location, friendly staff and small but clean and well appointed rooms. Several restaurant options and bar open late also. Overall great value for Manhattan.
Free wifi internet, free printing service, good room service restaurant staff not helpful and a bit pricey
The rooftop pool is worth the stay. Not sure about going there at night but during the day, it's so far my favorite spot in the city :) The room itself is fairly standard. The ~$350/night is mostly towards the location and the pool.
Breakfast up on the rooftop! Overall. Great!
Beautiful room and service was great. Breakfast was excellent there was alot of noice outside my room on the 5th floor at 5am
The continental breakfast & the wine & cheese evenings. The fact that the roof terrace was simply that, a roof terrace and not a bar where you could purchase drink or snacks, it seemed a waste of space.
It was very clean. The room was stylish and comfy. The location is amazing. They can't help it- they are in the process of remodeling. No lobby, no area for breakfast, no ice machine. These things will probably all be back when the hotel is finished being remodeled. Great value.
Nothing Stuff were not friendly
CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AMAZING!!! Check in/Check out was easy process, both reps were helpful, friendly and AWESOME. The hotel room was clean and warm - the view was New York. I had to laugh because I didn't see where the bathroom was upon walking, but it was tucked on the side. EVERYTHING was walking distance, I never had to chance to make it to the restaurant. The ONLY thing I didn't like was the mini-bathroom, the shower was fine, but the space for the toilet... I needed a little bit more room, but it was clean. The room had two beds and the bathroom door / 2nd bed had about 6 in of space between the two. I wouldn't want to share this room, but perfect for a solo traveler. YES I will come back to The Paul.
Location Room was dirty. There was sticky stuff on the chair and the desk that clearly had been barely cleaned and the floors were swollen and sticky and clear stains on the bathroom floor. The view was not as shown and the windows were covered in dirt.
Everthing is good
the beds were very comfortable quiet The deadbolt on the door was broken couldn't get it fixed. Our room keys continually stopped working no information in room about area hallway was filthy had not been vacuumed in a long time they provided a continental breakfast but since we booked through third party website they would not let us eat breakfast.
Easy subway and walking distance to stores. Nice room. Noisy street traffic on Broadway. No decent mirror in room, bathroom had a TV built in, so wasn't useful, full length was in a dark corner.
Location Construction at 3am Overpriced Didn't clean my room until 4pm one day
Everything! It was one of the nicest (if not the nicest) hotels we have ever stayed in. I loved the layout of the room. It made it feel homey not just another hotel/motel room! Small breakfast room!
First of all this is not a classy place as the pictures might suggest . Its a former short stay , literally , pretending to now be a boutique hotel complete with a glowing sign, a facade covered in tacky blue neon lights and a total dump off lobby. When I arrived I was shocked - nothing like photos . Perhaps for the best when I arrived it was somehow overbooked ... yes after a 14 hour flight I was told they didn't have a room for me . Front desk staff was vile and rude . Not apologetic and rude . Did nothing to help . Don't stay at this horrible place . First of all this is not a classy place as the pictures might suggest .
