Cons: The room and bathroom are dated. The customer operator always unprofessional sometimes they are rude. The thing that honestly ruin my whole experience I was expecting packages/envelopes. However they arrived early. I’ve stayed in many hotels in the City ( 4&5 stars ) hotels, whenever they receive any shipment they keep till my check in date. However again the same person who I called to inquire about my shipped items told me in a very rude manner do you think we are storage place. We keep them for 1-2 weeks then we return. The items were expensive and shipped from overseas. According it was returned to the sender however the sender didn’t receive anything. For this inconsiderate unprofessional act of not even communicating with Guest, at least I can suggest something. But not making the decision to send back everything. This the first time it happens to me in Hotel all around the world. For the reasons I don’t think I will ever stay or recommend this hotel to any of my friends/ family.

Pros: This is a beautiful (Boutique) hotel. The actual building is stunning and the decor fabulous. The location is fantastic and the rooms are a good size for New York - bigger than most hotels. It is probably more of an adult hotel (we travelled with Teenagers) as we didn't feel any of the menu's worked for the kids but that didn't matter. My husband and I ate in The Temple Court restaurant one night and the food was excellent. All the Staff were really pleasant and helpful. They were only too happy to organise or suggest things for us including tickets, restaurants and transport. All of which were excellent.

Pros: The Beekman is a beautiful hotel that has been redone with style and grace. The history of the hotel was preserved which lead to the charm of it. The staff was knowledgeable on the history of the hotel and eager to share information. Beds were comfortable, location was great. Lots of elevators, so no long waits. I liked the personal welcome on the TV when you entered your room "Welcome your name". Very nice touch.

Cons: Rooms Small. No seats at bar available for guests at any time on both nights we stayed. Was unable to get a reservation in the restaurant on either evening. There were empty tables but not available to guests as were been held for larger parties.

Cons: It can be a little noisy (but all of NYC is!!). In fairness, reception did put us at the front of the hotel as there is construction going on at the back of the hotel - so we did appreciate that. However all the rooms lead off the central Atrium, below which is the bar. As we were on the 2nd floor, the noise from the bar was quite loud. This didn't matter to us as we were so exhausted from our busy days that we 'crashed out' and the hotel did explain that the bar would shut 11.30pm and so would be clear by 12.30 and indeed it was. I am only mentioning it because if you worry about noise - ask for a room higher up and to the front.

Cons: Checkin was supposed to be at 3pm but my room was available only at 5pm. I had to wait for 2 hours for a room that is located on the 2nd floor from where I could hear street, bar noise and even the underground metro. Evening staff reaction at the reception was disappointing and was not corresponding to 5 stars service. They did not do much to help. The next day, I changed room and experience was definitely better. Thanks again to the receptionist who arranged it for me. I appreciated his attitude. If you are used to boutique hotels where human experience and service matters as much as the facilities, you might be disappointed.

Cons: As with many NY hotels, the rooms are on the smaller side. I paid for an upgrade to a larger room, but it did not appear to be any larger than the regular room (which my daughter had). Restaurants were pricey for lunch and for dinner. The food was good, but nothing special that would warrant the prices. Also it was raining and we asked for an extra umbrella. They charged a $30 fee, which was refunded when I returned the umbrella. But really at a 5 star hotel this practice seems unnecessary.

Cons: I had booked a room based on the photos provided on booking and when we arrived they told us that in order to get the river view i would have to upgrade for an additional $150 night. Was a bit of a scam in my opinion. The reception authorized my credit card twice for the full amount of the stay including extras. I checked with my bank to be sure. They confirmed that two blocked amounts for the same amount were blocked by the Dominick Hotel. I asked the front desk they denied this but upon returning back home it took an additional 12 working days to have the one additional authorization removed after I had paid the bill in full upon check out. I wasn't very happy with this experience as this could really limit some people if they want to use that same credit card while on vacation.

Bums sleeping in courtyard directly behind hotel where I was going to sit and smoke. Cons: Halls are a little noisy. The hotel caters to a young clientele that treats the hotel as an over privileged dorm room. So not a great choice if you are looking for some peace and quiet. Rooms are a little cramped with storage space dispersed throughout the room. Don’t agree with the “resort tax”, a charge for the use of the rooftop bar. Something we only used once during our 11 night stay. Wifi is very bad on the upper floors.

Cons: The shower was horrible. We were given a handicap room, and the shower was very narrow. There was no space to move around, and water got sprayed across the whole bathroom because there wasn't a lip. The shower head also fell on my friend's head mid-shower

Cons: Rooms were much smaller than I expected; missed somehow in the description that it's a "microhotel". Bathroom is part of the room with glass walls & just a sliding glass door, so not very private. We were only there one night though, so fine for us. Mattress was very hard.

Pros: Arlo is a good option for your stay in NYC. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very cool - and smells so good! The bed was amazing and very comfortable. The hotel is very conveniently located close to a subway station (line 1).
Cons: Rooms are very small even for NY standards. The bathroom/toilet is not isolated from the bedroom and this is something to have in mind when traveling with partner/friends (you will invariably be forced to take a step ahead on your intimacy levels!). Also the room was a bit noisy (some plumbing noises ?), but didn't compromise a heavy-sleeper's sleep. My room wasn't ready until 5pm (I had to wait for a bit over one hour) but staff made sure to make me feel comfortable and entertained with complimentary cocktails at their amazing lobby bar.

Cons: This place was like a glorified hostel. You are paying for good quality bedding and fixtures but they have cost cut in odd ways. The shower cubicle has a ridiculous designed shower curtain that was quite useless, and made a huge mess. The staff are all disinterested in being there, and seem to have forgotten they are part of the hospitality industry. Location is ok, but I think there are better options out there.

Pros: booking.com deducted money for this room from my bank account as did the soho grand hotel...so i paid twice for the same room... and i am not happy, and will contact my bank, and tell my employees never to use your site again, and contact my bank, and the hotel, and spread the word to my many hundreds of friends,family, associates and employees, to beware of your site. the worst of it is that i have tried to contact you numerous times and it is impossible to reach a live person. i am going to spend considerable time and money potentially costing you a lot of business. i am really pissed off.

Cons: There is only room for one opened luggage other than the floor. The toilet dripped all night, they fixed it, however it was dripping again within an hour. We had a cold shower as there was no hot water coming through after 20 minutes. The noise from the street was unbearable, it felt like there was a drunken party in our room. Police sirens, horns tooting, woman screaming etc. continued all through the night. It’s a hotel that definitely needs double glazing. The area is convenient to all our chosen activities, however it’s littered with rubbish and very sleazy.

Pros: When you go to New York, no place is the best place. The location where you stay is going to depend on what you are looking to do in the Big Apple City. We chose the W next to World Trade Center, and we really liked it. The location to the hotel was really convenient for us. There were different subway stations at walking distance that will take you everywhere in the city. The room was nice, clean, well decorated, spacious and with a beautiful view to the One World Trade Center tower. Bed and linens where very comfortable too. The bathroom was a little small, but had everything needed. The hotel provided with a fitness and a bar with outside seating with a stunning view to the WTC. The reception always had fresh apples and water available for customers. The janitorial lady (Daisy) that took care of our room was super nice and making us feel very welcomed. We traveled with our dog, and even though he was with us most of the time, we had to leave him 1 or 2 times in morning alone for a few hours. After we picked our dog, Daisy came to clean our room. We really appreciated the service and her kindness. We also had another janitorial lady that was cleaning another room, she heard us outside in the corridor waiting for the elevator, and she came outside of the room to ask if we needed something and offered us water! All the staff in general was very kind and nice. They also allowed us to do a late check-out. We can recommend this hotel for couples, families, for people travelling with their pets.

Pros: When you go to New York, no place is the best place. The location where you stay is going to depend on what you are looking to do in the Big Apple City. We chose the W next to World Trade Center, and we really liked it. The location to the hotel was really convenient for us. There were different subway stations at walking distance that will take you everywhere in the city. The room was nice, clean, well decorated, spacious and with a beautiful view to the One World Trade Center tower. Bed and linens where very comfortable too. The bathroom was a little small, but had everything needed. The hotel provided with a fitness and a bar with outside seating with a stunning view to the WTC. The reception always had fresh apples and water available for customers. The janitorial lady (Daisy) that took care of our room was super nice and making us feel very welcomed. We traveled with our dog, and even though he was with us most of the time, we had to leave him 1 or 2 times in morning alone for a few hours. After we picked our dog, Daisy came to clean our room. We really appreciated the service and her kindness. We also had another janitorial lady that was cleaning another room, she heard us outside in the corridor waiting for the elevator, and she came outside of the room to ask if we needed something and offered us water! All the staff in general was very kind and nice. They also allowed us to do a late check-out. We can recommend this hotel for couples, families, for people travelling with their pets.
Cons: I booked this hotel because of the location and great price deal we got. We were 5 and booked at 2 bed room. I requested by phone a rollover bed to be added to our room and got a confirmation that it was possible to do with no problem. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the hotel, they told us that for security reasons it is not possible to add rollover beds in our room type. What I didn't like is that there was not really a solution that was found other than pay for an extra bedroom. We managed to sleep the 5 of us in the same bedroom, but we were disappointed about it. Staff at the reception should inform properly the guests about this kind of requests, and most importantly, be on top of it and answer by email the guests' requests when received by booking or any other site. It was clearly a misunderstanding, and this won't change our mind that we will come back again if needed in the future.

It is also really close to the NQR and ACE Metro lines which is super handy when getting around town. Staff were very accommodating for any additional requirements, ie kettle, sewing kit, wine bottle opener, additional blankets, etc. The staff are always welcoming and friendly on arrival, departure and during your stay, ready, willing and available to provide assistance or answer questions as they arise. We visited the rooftop bar on one evening for a pre dinner snack and drinks and although expensive and a limited range, the view made up for that. In the past we have visited in Winter during January, so I can highly recommend visiting in the warmer months.

Cons: Hotel doesn’t really have the standard of a 4 star hotel. Room a bit cramped. Canal street itself is a bit gross with dodgy people so wouldn’t walk around alone, especially at night time.

Cons: Wasn’t too impressed by the tea/coffee facilities in the room. Only ‘to go’ cups not much use. Also, a lot of British people like lots of milk and English Breakfast tea provided. This was hardly ever the case unless we specifically asked for more.

Cons: The housecleaning staff tried to come into the room when it was already clean. I was in the bathroom. They didn't just try to knock, but actually tried to enter the room without any confirmation from me, and they were held back by the bolt on the door, which was sticking out when I came out of the bathroom. I tried to go out into the hall to ask them what was so urgent, and they were not their (just the cart). In addition to that, I had charges on my credit card that I didn't understand. I tried calling the front desk and Sheraton's main call center and both were not able to give me reasonable explanations. They cited "New York taxes", but the charges were 23.3% of my original bill's amount. Later I got an email from the manager saying that these were for "incidentaries" and they reversed the charges. Note that this was not an even deposit that they then charged me back, this was an amount they took back and then took off my card after I made multiple phone calls to find out what it was. And there was no trace of that amount on the receipt that was sent to me before those phone calls. I SUSPECT THIS HOTEL OF CREDIT CARD FRAUD. I would *highly* encourage any travelers to avoid it. I don't even think I'll stay at anything in the Sheraton chain again, given that they were telling me that it was taxes, which didn't make sense or match up with the manager's later story or the fact that these charges were reversed.

Cons: Our room (1815) was an adjoining room with a door connecting two rooms. This meant that noise travelled between the rooms and you could hear conversations clearly and everything (I mean EVERYTHING!!) that was going on in the room next door. We stayed for 13 nights and therefore we had a range of people come and go from families with children, noisy couples and girls ready to party until all hours of the morning.

The room was fair yet, after ordering through booking- I was surprised to pay an “amenity fee” of 40$ for one night , one person before taxes!!! Overall, w/o breakfast- paying 433$ per night for the hotel is not a good trade. I wanted a taxi to La Gaurdia airport and was told they only work with private cars of their own . The rate is 70$ including taxes!!!! 20 minutes ride. Its am mot accusing the hotel of taking money “by force”. The blame is that they overcharge , basing their attempts on ignorance or misunderstanding of the deals.

Cons: The main issue we had was with a high-pitched noise occurring every couple of minutes - the engineer was sent to our room to check it out and it appears the noise was related to the plumbing in neighbouring rooms. My parents did not have the same issue in their room, though, so it may have just been an anomaly.

Pros:
Cons: The elevators are too small and too slow. There was always a long line to get on the elevators. During check-out, we had to wait about 20 minute to get on the elevator to go to the ground floor because every one that stopped on our floor was packed.

Cons: Smallest bed I have ever seen. King size means kids size. It is not 2m long, but shorter. So if you are 6 feet tall (or 180cm), then you will be out of the bed. The bed is around 180cm long... Never seen that. Also hot water is a problem. Not everytime, even if you wait 10 minutes, it’s still cold ... The room is very small but it might be just New York style. I would rate it more like two star hotel

Pros: Great location. Overall, clean.
Cons: Front desk unfriendly. Elevator situation ridiculous-waits up to 1/2 hour; 3 elevators for very tall building. Housekeeping didn't come to our room until 5 pm, even though I alerted them we were leaving at 9 am and returning in the late afternoon. Ugh.

Cons: Waiting long periods of time for the elevator, strands of hair in the sink and shower, staff was horrible, wasn’t able to check in until almost 6pm.

Pros: Housekeeping kept rooms very clean. Free WiFi which was quick. Staff very friendly and chatty. Little store near reception has all essentials.
Cons: Sounds weird but: the elevators were really slow. In the early evening it wasn’t uncommon to see groups of guests gathered around their floor’s elevator waiting to go out, and lots in the lobby waiting to go back to their room. Also, south Manhattan turned out to be a little more removed than I expected, you’re looking at a 20 minute subway journey to anything above 20th street. I will probably stay a bit more central next time around.

Pros: For someone travelling on their own, the female dormitory rooms with 3 x bunks were ideal. You just had to be flexible with sharing of the bathroom. Great how reception is open 24hrs and that linen is changed daily with beds made.

Pros: What I liked the most is that they made the bed and you get the fresh towel every day. The mattress was comfortable. There was socket near each bed. There was shampoo, shower gel and soap in the bathroom. There is subway station with direct connection to lower Manhattan. For the price in NYC, this is a good place to stay. There are couple of things, one must be careful about: Every room is different than the other. So, it can be that your room is different than the photos on the internet. Do not let them to copy your credit card. They tend to do so without even seeking your permission. Pay the security deposit in cash. It makes it easier to get it back. Bring your own padlock, as the room had no lockers and the luggage storage had no security system. Do not expect friendly or chatty staff.

Cons: I booked the room through booking.com. I received the email that my credit card details were not correct. The same thing happened to the other roommates. The check in process was extremely slow. The girl at the reception had to call her manager regarding my booking, as I booked it through booking.com. It is their policy to copy the credit card, so you have to intervene there. I did not let her it copied. There was no latch on the door, and bolt was not working. One of the staff personal invaded the room to show the room to her friends, as they were planning to stay there. There were no lockers in the room. The luggage storage was neither locked nor controlled. They take the security deposit for their own property, but they do not take any responsibility for your belongings or luggage.

Cons: The room was a 4th floor walk up and the initial room did not have a functioning security lock, it was located next to the fire escape with the door open and the window had been smashed and could not close. I could not believe it! They changed the room.

Cons: The room was 6ft by 8ft. No bathroom..no closet. Was dirty. walls needed paint years ago. The hotel stinks from I don't knwo what? We left 5 minutes after checking in. I gave the key back to the front desk. It was the worst room you could imagine.

Cons: Room was extremely small with no closet. No elevators, you have to carry your heavy baggage up the numerous stairs. Roof was just a bunch of cartons or cardboards and you could actually see through it. My friend saw a mouse in the bathroom. And the worst thing - walls are made of kind of thicker paper, so you can hear all the noises. During our stay we had the worst neighbours ever, making noise at 1am-3am, laughing, yelling, loud TV and the staff didnt do absolutely nothing about it!!!!!

Obviously not cleaned to satisfactory standard. No elevator. Appeared to have very unsavoury clientele. Relieved to have checked out unscathed. Staff on duty unhelpful.
