Pros: The rooms are little pods, but really fine for the price. Very clean. They are having issues with the some of the iPads that control room temp, lights, etc, but assured me this was a temporary glitch, as this was a new batch. The lobby is amazing and the location stellar. The staff might be the nicest and friendliest of any hotel I've ever stayed in. Inexpensive and tasty buffet breakfast at communal tables gives you the chance to chat with lovely people from all over the world. Rooftop bar has beautiful views.
Cons: Just the iPad situation, and that was very minor compared to all the positives. The controls were still functional, so no real problem on my end. Just had to frequently reboot.

Pros: Exactly what I needed for a one night business trip. Room is compact, but designed to be so, and spotlessly clean. Has a great location, fast wifi, brilliant communal spaces for getting out the laptop, and it took less than a minute to check in and out.

Pros: My first concerns for any hotel stay is the hotel safe and is it clean. The Carnegie earned top grades in both these areas. Very clean and great location. I walked to the Metropolitan Opera House in the evening and was quite safe. A 10.00 ride home (10 including tip!) was how I returned to the hotel but I almost walked....too tired. Also a short walk to the MOMA........Staff was genuinely friendly and concerned that my stay was comfortable. Upon making my reservation, I requested a room on a lower floor, and it was honored. The reception (Elijah?) made sure I was comfortable with the room. The wine and cheese reception was lovely and the woman who was the hostess very outgoing...pleasant woman.

Pros: The hotel was completely booked, so we got a complimentary suite upgrade! The bathroom was incredible, bigger and more luxurious than mine at home. The beds are extremely comfortable. Location is also fantastic, on the north side of Times Square so well-situated for midtown sightseeing.
Cons: Like many hotels which include a continental breakfast, the dining area can be claustrophobic at busy times. But the food at breakfast was excellent. The nightly wine and cheese reception is from 4 to 5 p.m., which is too short and too early to be beneficial if one is trying to sightsee during the day and go to the theater at night.

Cons: Travel conceirage was awful. Whenever I looked for them they are not available . Had to go that counter minimum 4 times from my room to get him. He was always out of his place. Finally when he given me advice it went wrong. I wanted to go to Statue of Liberty and he told me to pick a taxi instead of metro. It cost me 35 dollar in the taxi and driver told me best way was metro and he surprised travel concierGe advised me taxi. He said this people doesn't know anything about outside. Not even a bottle of water complementary. All toiletries are bare minimum and had to ask for certain things.

Cons: Wi-fi was terrible. Even after I paid the 14.95 for "high-speed" we had constant connection problems. On my third night the Novotel wireless network didn't even show up on list of available networks and was seemingly down for the remainder of the night. Not as big a deal on a leisure trip, but if I had been there for business I would have been screwed. The sink in the bathroom was poorly designed. Every time I turned on the faucet, water would splash up and out of the bowl and get everything on the counter wet. Had to keep water on lo-flow to avoid this.

I called operator, he sent "engineer" which couldn't do anything he said that's the highest, i called operator and said it's not acceptable, he said the they can't do nothing the whole hotel is set at this temperature (really??). I said show me another room as u sound now ridiculous. Then the same(!) "engineer" came and.. oh miracle (!) he fixed it. I said all of u guys are such LIARS!! Just made me SO mad and irritated for no reason. Overall: WAY overpriced hotel for the way it is, HORRIBLE "costumer service" from most of the stuff here, no room delivery after 11:30pm (really?!), No parking space, Spent almost $300/night for the room doesn't even have tube. It's not a hotel, it's bullshit!.

Pros: This hotel saved us after an incident with our Airbnb accommodations left us stranded in the city. We are so glad to have found this gem, at a reasonable price and in such a great location. The excitement of Times Square is right outside your door, yet inside the hotel you are able to get quiet and restful sleep. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the hotel restaurant just before our broadway show, and then walked a few blocks to the theater. Would definitely recommend!

Pros: The location is excelleñt, and everything is fine. Clean room, nice view, quiet, easy check-in/out, validated parking. The bed was comfortable, and every call to the hotel before and during our stay was.answered by a person who was knowledgeable and polite. Very nice.decor and shower.

Pros: We liked everything about the hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and the location was on Broadway, just one short block from 7th Avenue. I would stay again. It was a very good experience.
Cons: The only thing I questioned (but was not a big deal) was the bathroom was small - couldn't fit 2 people in at once. The shower pressure was too good. Meaning that it hurt the body when the hand held was used. The rain shower was good but if you didn't want to wet your hair, you had to use the hand held which in turn was so powerful that it hurt the body. It didn't bother me that much but it was the only thing that was a bit uncomfortable.

Pros: Everything was great about the Plaza! The hotel staff was so nice. They were always asking us how we were doing and if we needed anything. Our room was amazing! Very luxurious! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The mini bar was filled with all kinds of drinks and snacks. I think our favorite part was the bathroom. The walk in shower with the huge shower head was ginormous! The tub was rather large too! Everything was very very clean. It felt like it was brand new and we were the first people to stay in it! The hotel location was great also. Central Park and a subway station is right across the street so it was quite easy going to and from the Yankees games. We will definitely stay at the Plaza again!

Pros: The hotel is a landmark. It is in a great location and gives great access to Central Park. It is also not too far of a walk to the theater district. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable.
Cons: The staff seemed indifferent. The revolving door wasn't working, so we had to go in through side doors. The doormen (sometimes as many as three) just stood around watching, not helping at all with the doors, which were heavy. Breakfast in the lobby: we were seated and I asked the purpose seating us to bring coffee. He said the server would be right with us. After 5 minutes there was no server to been seen. Why didn't the person seating us just bring us coffee? Very mediocre attitude. This hotel was not at all worth the price we paid.

Pros: The hotel itself was just far enough away from the craziness of NYC, but close to everything. Bed was comfy. Room was quiet even by the elevator. Shower had hot water/ good pressure. What really stood out were the associates at the front desk who went above and beyond to help us when we had a major issue with booking (not at all the hotels fault) and when I left my phone in a cab. JARED went above and beyond for us. He literally saved us in both situations and we can’t thank him enough. He kept his cool, worked hard to resolve the issues and never made us feel like a burden. He is the real MVP!! (We were also impressed with ANTONIO, who was very friendly and accommodating.) I will def recommend this hotel to others!

The art in residence program showcased interesting pieces of art throughout the hotel. The rooms were lovely, comfortable bed, very clean - an all around 10 out of 10 stay!

Pros: I've stayed in so many NY hotels over the years and this one was very good, great room sizes for a Manhattan hotel, good room decor and excellent and quiet air con (good when 35c outside)! Desk to work at and plenty of plug sockets to charge gadets etc. Great location 5 mins walk to Abrrcrombie and Lower 5th Avenue, good Irish bar next door, diner opposite and coffee shops close by. Easy to get taxis outside too. Friendly and efficient front desk staff

Cons: For the price they could have included wifi for free and not charge $10.00 per day per phone and iPad. Also couldn't get the room temperature to regulate...it was either too cod or too hot. Also we paid extra for a "city view" and got a room that was only half way to top and we could barely see anything..stuck in a recessed nook and go see only building across the street. Our daughter's room was inside view room but had better views than our room. Naldo we could have had breakfast there for $32.00 per person...no breakfast is that good! The bed was not made well...the bottom sheet stopped 8-10 inches before the end of the bed...feet touched mattress protector and top sheet didn't stay in place...they need to get better sized sheets.

In June 2016, We were put in a "courtyard room (graveyard)" because of the price that we paid. If we spent $75 more a night they would upgrade us to a normal room. This room had a window but barely let in any natural light. You couldn't see what the weather was like until you went outside. The bathroom was so tiny that the only way 2 people could be in there at the same time was if someone was in the shower and the other at the sink. The shower was a tiny stall! I couldn't bath without my elbows hitting the walls. Although, the similar price in 2014 gave us an amazing room with a street view and a huge bathroom (no need to upgrade). The staff on this last trip were friendly but seemed to be rushed. Not the cozy vibe that we had in 2014.

What is the hotel hiring these clowns for, just to simply run your credit card and give you your room key. No skills in customer service and proper human interaction for that matter. The only advantage you have is location.1.The room is quite small, no coffee maker (I requested 2 times by phone, excluded I came to the front desk to request face to face),no refrigerator(you need to request, the quantity is limited and no one replied about whether they would supply or not.) 2.No hair conditioner in the bottle at the first night I stayed.After the third night, I left a note in the bathroom for the housekeeper and said"please refill the conditioner. Thanks." No one cared about this. The bottle was still empty. 3. Airconditioner was broken. Luckily the front desk changed a room for me. This is the worst experience I have in NYC. I am pretty sure I will not choose this hotel in the future and tell others about this experience. Again, if you don't care about the service at all, choose it. If you don't mind to walk several minutes more to Times Square or other sites and want better service and bigger room, Holiday inn midtown at 57th street is a good choice. Pros: The hotel is very well-located. It's close to Rockefeller Plaza, Times Square, Grand Central Station, MOMA and Central Park. All these are a short walk away. Saks 5th Avenue and Rockefeller Plaza are across the road, the Apple Store and Bloomingdales are also close. It's not quite so well-located for the Guggenheim and the Frick Galleries. There is a much longer walk to these places, but if you don't mind taking a taxi or an Uber, it's fine. The main public spaces have their original 1920s decoration and are lovely! We got a great value deal, which made the hotel a steal!

The main bedroom was easily large enough to make the bathroom bigger. It's possibly the smallest bathroom I've ever had in any hotel. I'm not sure it's possible to make it any smaller and still be functional. Decoration of the corridors and rooms is not up to the standard of the entrance lobby, and the bars. It's not bad, it's just pretty characterless by comparison not only with the rest of the hotel, but also of comparable hotels. It's tasteful, well-maintained and spotlessly clean, but just very... characterless... There is no free wifi! I was amazed at this. This is one thing that you expect at every hotel, even cheap ones. Trying to charge $15 for it is a rip-off. Unfortunately, the room was noisy. You expect traffic noise in New York, and you get used to it. You don't expect constant plant noise from the Kitchen. If we had spent longer in the room, this may have been a real problem for us. The staff are great. the hotel is well-staffed and they are all professional, courteous and attentive. Based on our short stay, I would definitely recommend the Lotte Palace.

Pros: The location of the hotel is perfect, On the edge of Central Park minutes from 5th avenue shopping. There are some restaurants nearby too. If you are interested in doing something touristy the horse and carriage rides are right outside.
Cons: Where to begin. I was only there for one night and it was extremely expensive. On top of that they charged me a $35.00 "facilities fee" which was for WiFi, cocktail happy hour, and other amenities. I used the WiFi which worked fine but the cocktail happy hour was a disaster, very disorganized and the staff wasn't super pleasant. I wish I had the choice of adding on these extras. Also, upon check-in the key machine was not working so I was not authorized a room key. Each time I needed to go into my room I had to ask someone; one time I was waiting in the hallway for 30 minutes until someone showed up. It could've been a better experience.

This room had gum on the floor, the bathroom looked dirty, the carpet was disgusting and discolored, overall it needed to be updated. I complained and they ignored my reservation, again, and put me in another double room. This room was slightly updated, but still not what I paid for! After returning a third time, they finally gave me the King room I paid for, but it was almost as disgusting as the first room. Luckily, I had business meetings and was not in my room very much, but it made the end of a long day very uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!

Pros: The hotel is in a very good location, close to most tourist activities, Central Park and the subway. It's very quiet. We hardly even saw other guests. If you're not planning on spending much time at your hotel or in room, it's a good spot. The staff is very nice. A friend uses this hotel at least once a month and has always had good experiences.
Cons: For the entirety of our stay, one of the elevators was out of service and there were lengthy waits to use it. We were on the 8th floor, so that was troublesome. Our shower curtain had obvious black mold on it. There was a spot on the ceiling where a smoke detector had been, the cords just dangling. The room was very small and the bed uncomfortable at best. There's a $14.95 charge per day, per device for wifi in your room. The hair dryer provided hardly worked- the low setting not at all and the high setting was quite low. Our TV was very scratched at the bottom. I would not stay here again.

Cons: The $25 fee per guest. Really? What a rip off. BUT, it includes free wifi! And a bottle of water! Many hotels offer wifi and water for free to anyone that signs up for their loyalty/rewards program (which is free!) You do get a $10 credit, though, which can be used to purchase a $20 drink on the roof top. Stop gaming your customers.

Pros: For my trouble I was given 2 entries to empire state building.
Cons: Room floor was never cleaned. When I arrived I was given a room that was not clean. The second room was horribly noisy at night, it was in front of the elevator and the was a noise of something dropping inside a pipe. The third room I was in was in a floor being refurbished. This floor was very good but very noisy around 9 pm. After 1 night in the third room I was told I had to change. The manager wanted to give us 2 bunker beds and we are a couple, we payed more to sleep together. Fourth room was kind of OK. Notice that all the doors in the hotel make a big noise so you need ear plugs to be OK.

Pros: Good value and great location. Great staff and security as well. Clean sheets and passable furniture. This is definitely an alternative to the el cheapo rooms in the East Village and felt safe at all hours. I would recommend this place again when traveling on a tight budget.
Cons: The glass shower doors afford no privacy when showering. Don't know how the women's showers are configured, but for the guys, it's three next to each other across from the sinks/mirrors. I was brushing my teeth at the mirror facing the mirror and the guy behind me in the shower was, well I had to close my eyes. Also be advised that this is a really nice hostel, so expect loud kids late into the night. However, never enough to wake me up (I was there for five nights).

Pros: Wow! to the location and gym facilities. With just a few small fixes, this could be a great (NYC inexpensive) place to stay.
Cons: There was no facecloth provided There were ZERO coat hangers in the closet in my room, despite lots of space for them. One of only three showers in the only male bathroom on the 9th floor was broken (the water control handle was broken off) and could not be used. Your wifi network system blocks all access to destination port 465, ie SMTP, one of the oldest and most basic protocols on the Internet. Yes, many people get their mail through the web (http) nowadays, but many of us don't, and there's no security or other reason to block ssh, ntp, smtp, etc ports. First day, there was no shampoo nor conditioner in my room Second day: there was conditioner but no shampoo in my room. There was no water fountain / source of drinkable water on the floor (bathroom taps sprayed). On two cold days in late April, the room was too hot at night.

Pros: Location was excellent and price was affordable. $2 to store a bag was reasonable and security staff assisted with that cheerfully.
Cons: Perhaps it was an off day, but the 8th floor had a pervasive odor that was unpleasant to say the least. I also was cursed with untidy floor mates who messed up the bathroom and this wasn't cleaned during the 14 hours I was sharing it. The front desk also had an indifferent attitude while checking in - almost as if my presence was disturbing their other plans for the evening. I am pretty tolerant of shared facilities and budget properties in NY, but overall this experience managed to fall even below those standards. I enjoyed my stay at the East Side Y last year, but this stay at the West Side Y left a lot to be desired.

Pros: Excellent location near Central Park, close to subway stops. One of cheapest places to stay in NYC. Single room had AC, small flat screen TV, desk and chair. Free wifi that works fairly well. Can store luggage before checking and after checking out for $2 per bag. Can use Y facilities, gym, pool, etc.
Cons: Communal bathroom is usually a mess. Water on floor, sinks stopped up and horrible smell. Sometimes noisy with slamming doors so bring ear plugs just in case

Pros: The location was perfect as we were across the street from Central Park, close to Lincoln Center, Columbus Square, and other great cites in the city. The staff was very friendly, and I appreciated the fact that there was a security desk in the lobby. The beds were surprisingly comfortable for being bunk beds and the room was very quiet as our window faced away from the street.
Cons: The shared bathroom and showers were a bit of a challenge, but, considering the price, wasn't too bad just inconvenient.

Pros: Sheets and a blanket was a pleasent surprise! Also cleaning every day was luxury thing. Room was warm and the hallways were in good condition. Bed was comfy too. Staff in helpful and you can enter the guesthouse anytime.
Cons: The toilet at the 9th floor is hidious. There was some little bugs flying, I thought that okay whatever, but when I saw a cocroach I thought this is too much. You can use the swimming pools showers and toilets, they are renovated and in excellent condition.

Pros: The whole place in general is very safe and monitored. So the safety problem doesnt really exist there. The windows open to provide fresh air. Lots of bathrooms. Easy area to get out of and get to whereever you need to be.
Cons: However, they have a curfew, a human body limit per room and will try to charge you for as much as possible during your stay. I had to rent a DOUBLE bed room because i had a friend stay over (which apparently isnt allowed). No food, only 99c soap to shower with and no ventelation in bathrooms. staff is rude at any chance they get and the other guests staying there weren't any better. They even charge you per bag if you want to leave your bags in the locker room.

Pros: The location is superb and the staff is friendly. We had a decent view over Broadway. The price is b based on location.
Cons: Hotel is in desperate need of a Makeover. Missing grout in the bathroom, yellowing bathtub with soft spots, faucets missing screws and a thermostat that only knows "very warm", despite seeing it to 65 degrees (18C), no fan in the bathroom, are just a few of the issues. The parking garage under the Hotel is operated by a different company and is a disaster, both pulling in and especially when leaving. It took over an hour to get our car back, once ordered. Wr were told by others that this was common there.

Cons: We booked our stay online (as I’m sure most do). This was our first stay at The Manhattan but not our first visit to NYC. The website pictures advertised updated, modern facilities, which was true of the lobby. However, once you get off the elevator, you realize the rest of the hotel (minus one floor apparently) has not ever been renovated. Upon walking into our room, we notice that the wallpaper and paint are peeling, the furniture is chipped, the bathroom is covered in pale pink tile and includes a fluorescent light box is not even bright enough to put your makeup on. After placing a call to the front desk, we realize this is typical of a “standard” room. The modern and updated pictures on the website actually reflect the “executive” room. We upgraded as soon as a room was available, and the facilities were much more consistent with what we expected. However, we had to then deal with the thermostat being defective, so our stay didn’t brighten up that much. We will not be staying here again.

Cons: This hotel is very dirty and very dated. Mold is in the shower and tub surround. Carpet and walls are filthy. Check bed for bed bugs but didn't find any - THANK GOODNESS. The windows haven't been cleaned in years!!!!!!! Takes forever to get an elevator to the Lobby and you will stop on every floor with people piling on the elevator because they are sick of waiting for one! It took us 26 minutes to get down to the lobby one eveving. Oscar Jacques and Allison are very nice but other than that it's disgusting. It has no place to get food after breakfast. No room service. Vending machines are sold out and gives you back change for your dollars but only takes dollars the change slots are glued shut so you can't get anything!!! It was the ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!!!!! Electrical outlets do not work along with some of the lights!!!!

Cons: 1. No communication by hotel staff. They tried to place us in a room that is half the size of a regular room without even telling us when we checked in. We found about this when we actually entered the room. After that we had to reconcile this very uncomfortable and unexpected experience. 2. Hotel management spent 10 minutes explaining how they cannot keep the fully paid room and that upon check in they will place and assign the room of their availability. Why bother and pay in advance if there is no guarantee? 3. We didn't feel hospitality was there at all. It truly came across as just another place interested in making money rather than building long lasting experience 4. Hotel is definitely run down and it stinks super bad. 5. We would not recommend this hotel and definitely would not have given it 3 stars. Stay some place else!

Pros: The main floor lobby was done very nicely. The proximity to trains & Times Square was a plus.
Cons: Our room smelled extremely bad & even the man who brought up our bags noticed it & said something to us about how strong it was. It smelled strongly of weed. That smell lasted from when we entered our room until check out, our entire stay. We even kept the windows open. The only reason I didn’t complain about it was because we had adjoining rooms with the rest of our family & we wanted to be together. Also, the room is in need of updating especially the bathroom. The water in bathroom didn’t drain properly either. As well as the hallways on the other floors. It seems as if the only update was done in the main floor lobby because once you take the elevator up and the doors open it’s like you’re in a motel. The rest of the hotel is dingy & dirty. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and I could not get comfortable with springs stabbing my back all night.

Pros: Very good, central location on 7th Avenue. Just a few blocks from Times Square, Central Park, immediately adjacent to Broadway...can easily walk (or use subway) to anywhere in Midtown. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Had a decent breakfast bar in the lobby with very kind, courteous employees staffing it. Was an enjoyable visit every morning, though it's primarily only got muffins, fruit, and coffee.
Cons: Room was very minimalist and small. Bed was not particularly comfortable. TV only has a few channels and reception was fuzzy on about half of them. Wi-fi is not free - costs roughly $15 per day, less if you buy several days' worth of usage up front. Noise from the street below was pretty noticeable; it would have been very difficult to tune it out completely had I not been using ear plugs. Basically, it's cheaper than the other (nicer, I would assume) hotels in the area, but the location could make it worthwhile if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room...and it's NYC, so why would you? Spend a lot of time out in Manhattan, making use of the great location, and you won't mind the facilities as much.

The front desk was understaffed at both check-in and check-out. This created long lines and long waits. We had to wait an hour for our room to be ready because they were behind on their turn-overs and we arrived at 8PM. They need to hire more staff for peak times.

The housekeeping people really needs to be trained to be quiet and not to shout across the hallway and slam doors in the morning. They also forget to refill lotion/coffee.
