Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "I will never forget Turkish airlines again. They stole our money. We were at our flight on time but they wouldn't let us board. They then said we were no shows and cancelled all our remaining flights with no refund. This ended up costing us around $3000. We don't have this kind of money and I don't know how we will pay rent next month."
Cons: "Food is tasteless and it is too crapped. No leg room on planes"
Pros: "We got in on time and that matters most on an evening flight."
Cons: "The plane was freezing"
Cons: "Food was served and drinks only arrived after you finished your meal. This happened for all meals."
Pros: "from LA to Toronto, between the seats was roomy"
Cons: "to LA, between the seats was very narrow"
Pros: "good crew"
Cons: "light in bathroom didn't work and was so small i couldn't help my three year old go without leaving the door open"
Pros: "considering all the delays, both in delay in leaving Amsterdam and holding pattern due to thunderstorms in Toronto all went well in a very long day."
Pros: "The flight attendants were very pleasant and helpful. My entertainment app was not letting me play a movies so they gave me a tablet for free. I thought that was very nice customer service."
Cons: "Nor enough moxie choices and mostly old ones. The exact same ones were playing on my return flight. The food options were not great. Not enough of a selection. Also my daughter and I were assigned seats apart and I felt not enough was done to help us sit together. We had to handle it ourselves once on the plane."
Cons: "The entertainment system was down for 45 minutes on the flight from toronto to vancouver, and the air crew didn't seem to be bothered by it until many people complained / asked to move."
Pros: "Great airline for food and service."
Cons: "For couples traveling in business Air Canada's seating is designed to de-couple by placing barriers between seats . They need to try Emerites to check out how a pod should work Entertainment is limited"
Pros: "Flight was quick, service was great, clean lavatories."
Cons: "Would've appreciated more legroom, but the same can be said for just about any airline."
Cons: "They lost our luggage not only on the way to our destination but also on the way home both times in Toronto"
Pros: "The snack selection is excellent"
Cons: "No complaints"
Pros: "There was a hour delay but once on board the crew and flight was excellent."
Cons: "Same as above. Flight delayed by 45 minutes. No explanation given as to why... no inclement weather or other issues that day."
Pros: "That I was able to play it on my phone"
Cons: "Flight attendants passed by me without asking if I would like to buy lunch and when she finally she came by they didn't have anything else"
Pros: "Great crew and helpers on the ground too! Loved the entertainment too! :)"
Pros: "Great crew and on schedule."
Cons: "One of the better flights I have taken no complaints."
Pros: "Flight attendant"
Cons: "My daughter's first trip to Canada, with a brand new suitcase. By the time she arrived in Canada her suitcase was lost. Then ended up in the London Airport even though she flew into Ontario. When she picked up the suitcase it was wet and missing one wheel. On the return flight to Tampa when the suitcase arrived it was missing two of the four wheels in the corner was completely ripped off which was exposing what was inside. The handling of the suitcases is awful and she should receive a replacement suitcase"
Cons: "An international flight, yet no food, and had to purchase beverages and ear buds."
Cons: "The lavatory sink was clogged. The audio to movies was inaudible, as though the picture was streaming and the audio was lost. The crew offered little assistance to a clearly frail elderly passenger who had a very difficult time rising from her seat and using the lavatory."
Cons: "Flight delayed 2 1/2 hours, plane A/C not working. Waited for another plane. They tried to fix the first plane but they just delayed getting another plane."
Cons: "flight was booked as Lufthansa, but Lufthansa would not allow seat selection and air Canada would not recognize Lufthansa booking code, so we were stuck in middle seats for 8 hr & 5 hr flights on third section we in in very back of plane even though there were better seats available"
Pros: "The flight attendants were GREAT. The seats are crammed so close together that I had trouble getting my under the seat suitcase wedged in. On other airlines, the suitcase fits very nicely underneath the seat, allowing me to rest my feet on the suitcase. I am on the short side, so having the suitcase to rest my feet really helps. On the flight to Toronto, my daughter had to do it for me. On the return flight, the sweet flight attendant put the bag in and took it out for me. I really appreciated that"
Cons: "I know that all airlines have reduced the seat size and spacing. But it seems like Air Canada is worse than most."
Pros: "Crew was excellent"
Cons: "Long delay while a new crew was flown to Toronto. Has root cause of original delay been identified and steps taken to ensure it doesn't happen again?"
Pros: "The entertainment was horrible, seats so uncomfortable. Service was really bad and overall to cramed"
Cons: "Change the seats and give a bit more space. Get the flight attendance to not be jerks and do their jobs"
Pros: "Was not delayed"
Pros: "Flight crew was friendly. They were dealing with a lot of crabby people due to a 4 hour weather delay. They handled it, some better than others."
Cons: "I checked my bag. It got soaked. I am talking drenched like dumped in a lake and left there for the 4 hours we were delayed in Toronto. When we contacted air canada the luggage complaint rep told us to complete an online claim. We haven't heard a peep out of Air Canada in a week. Unacceptable Air Canada. You must would at least acknowledge that something was done wrong by a baggage crew even if they aren't on your payroll and on an airports."
Pros: "Comfortable, well maintained aircraft. Good entertainment. Friendly crew. Boarding process was well conceived. They separated seating zones into different queues, and turned back people who attempted to board out of order."
Cons: "Breakfast was underwhelming for an international flight. Dinner was just average. The crew seemed to have trouble responding to things like...people using restrooms late during the descent, passengers making themselves a little too "at home" and thereby disturbing their neighbors, and repeated chimes due to an errant elbow on a call button...the little things. They are things you don't notice when a crew is highly attentive, as you find on Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, or Air New Zealand. The crew were friendly, but not quite in charge."
Pros: "The food was really good. I was kind of shocked but each meal or snack I had was delicious and I especially liked that I could pre order special food according to my diet. The staff was friendly and the entertainment was good."
Cons: "the music channels were lame. I was bummed we did not have wifi in the plane and so I couldn't listen to good music the whole flight"
Cons: "Flight got cancelled then accommodations were extremely unorganized."
Pros: "Short flight"
Cons: "Felt like spam in a can."
Pros: "Seat, pillow and blanket were clean. Flight arrived on time, luggage was intact and there were no issues boarding or de-boarding."
Cons: "Booked 4 months in advance - flew solo. Only window seat left was at the very back, near where the crew prepared everything. The entire flight was spent listening to them prepare meals, discuss their trip itinerary, shifts and how Air Canada treats them, as employees, so poorly. The crew were very short with most passengers and it seemed over staffed."
Cons: "It was an Air Canada Rouge flight sold as Lufthansa. Bait and switch."
Cons: "Air Canada lost my luggage, customer service was very vague and unhelpful, did not get my bag back for almost a week."
Pros: "good staff, very courteous and caring"
Cons: "took a long time to board, couldn't watch videos bc of bad sound"
Pros: "You got me home"
Cons: "I think I had the only seat on the plane with a broken audio port for my ear buds"
Pros: "Seats were comfortable..."
Cons: "Plane windows were really dirt... staff was a bit rude..."
Pros: "We had a pretty uneventful flight from Tampa to Toronto using Air Canada. That is a good thing. The airline offers complementary juices and drinks of the nonalcoholic variety. No complaints."
Cons: "Ran out of salmon for meal"
Pros: "Friendly and professional staff"
Cons: "Entertainment system is crappy and looks like it's from the 1990's. It needs a serious overhaul. I reserved windows seats and showed up to check and had been placed in the middle."
Pros: "boarding was quick, organized."
Cons: "my in-seat personal tv was broken. If there hadn't been other empty seats, I would have had to sit with no IFE the whole flight."
Pros: "Flight left within a hour of schedule time. I did get one warm diet coke with no ice."
Cons: "Having taken over 100 flights, I've noticed things have progressively gotten less and less *okay*. While nothing eventful happened this flight, I felt all the small touches I've come to know about Air Canada are gone. I felt less like a person and more like cattle on this flight then ever before."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and multi-lingual. The food was fine and beverages were frequently offered. I live in Michigan, but flights from Windsor (via Toronto) to Europe are much less expensive, so well worth the drive over the border."
Cons: "This airline only allows for one free checked bag when flying internationally. The checked bag size is stringent (but at least travelers are notified about that several times when booking and paying on line. The movie options are limited, but still enough variety to find something to watch."
Pros: "For the most part all crews were courteous and friendly. Early boarding for a disabled person traveling with our family was problematic on each leg of the trip."
Cons: "Not being informed of the reasons for the delay of almost four hours in the Toronto to Amsterdam leg was a major disappointment. Legroom on both transatlantic legs was a problem as well."
Pros: "Never got on this flight. We were never given an email to self check in, and we're unable to board 45 mins before at the gate coming frim anotthe flight. They overbooked this flight & sold our tickets, and then told us we couldn't get on flight. Now we are out $2500 buying new tix!"
Cons: "All the above. A simple check in email would have averted this problem. All the other airlines do this. We were under the presumption that we had to check in at airport when we didn't get check-in notice. Furthermore, they sold our tickets, so we're down $2500 and they doubled their profit. It would be hard for me to say I will use Air Canada or kayak in the future."
Pros: "Entertainment"
Cons: "Flight attendants rude, uncomfortable seats"
Pros: "The crew was great as usual, and I always enjoy the unique selection of international film in the entertainment system."
Cons: "That old plane was VERY drafty around the emergency exit. I can't remember ever feeling cold on a plane. Usually it's the opposite. But here was a consistent stream of ice cold air leaking through the airframe around the emergency exit. It was cold enough that I had to put several layers of blankets up on the wall and lean against them all the way home. In addition, my seat was so "well-used" that it provided very little support and often felt as though I was sitting on a bench. Not a pleasant experience."
Cons: "delayed every flight ,lost luggage"
