Flights from Denver to Canada: the best tips from KAYAK users

Be ready for delays. The airport only had one active runway and that caused a huge line of planes waiting to take off and that really delayed the flight
JanineFlew with Air Canada-Feb 2026
If you’re connecting through Vancouver, allow more time than the minimum connection, especially if you’re heading onto a long-haul international flight. Weather and operational delays can happen, so build in buffer where possible. Download the airline app before you travel so you can monitor changes in real time, and keep essential items in your carry-on in case of disruption. If your itinerary involves a tight connection to an international departure, be proactive at check-in and ask about your connection status if there are delays. Having travel insurance or credit card trip protection can also provide additional peace of mind. Lastly, check terminal and gate information in advance, as Vancouver requires security and departure procedures for international connections that can take additional time.

The entertainment they offer could use some games, and maybe they could add some cookies to the snack menu. And the automated messages are a bit repetitive. But it was comfortable temperature wise and the seats were comfortable. The crew is very polite and helpful

Putting people that close to the bathroom, where you have to look into the bathroom as people are exiting and entering was not great and the smell was also not great. I know the airlines are desperate for more chairs, but that seat is a crime.

one staffer was frustrated (it happen); the flight was late and the pilot mentioned they'll make amend but the snacks were the same, other than that the aircraft was clean and everything went smooth, no complaints

ticket agent lady wás very helpful , she arranged wheel chair for my elderly mother

United overall experience is great these days. Airport experience was very organized. Staff on flight were great. App and information as good as it gets.

Flight was good but there are way to many announcements for credit cards etc.

Overall good flight. The pilots were excellent. It was a nice flight, but the seats were a little uncomfortable.

The free snack options are pretty pitiful for a 2.40h flight.

Not worth the premium paid for the first class ticket

Fine. Though no food or entertainment so the survey needs to be updated with those options.

Multiple delays and flight cancellations meant that I arrived five and a half hours late at my destination. There was limited communication from the airline. The airline left my checked bag at my departure city and stopped tracking it almost immediately. The airline has made no apparent effort to return my bag despite filing a report, and has provided no communication or ability to check on the status of the bag.

Food options were ok but the actual meal was terrible. On my way back, they simply said that there was no vegetarian option; somehow they struggled to get one meal and did not give me any breakfast at all which in my opinion was terrible. Never had such an experience in the recent years.

1didnt have wheel chair I ordered wheel chair in my ticket flight

Extremely disappointing. My original Denver–Vancouver–Bangkok itinerary was cancelled due to a crewing issue. I was not proactively supported and had to drive back home after already reaching the airport. Communication was poor throughout, and attempts to contact customer service resulted in being on hold for nearly three hours without reaching anyone. Instead of being rebooked on the same direct routing the following day, I was rerouted onto a much longer itinerary via multiple cities and airlines, which resulted in arriving approximately 30 hours later than scheduled. At Denver airport, there was no visible Air Canada representative available to properly assist. Ground staff offered no real support beyond directing passengers to a phone number. There was no clear communication, no ownership, and no meaningful customer care during a major disruption. The final journey involved three flights instead of the original two, significantly increasing travel time and stress. Overall, the handling of the cancellation and lack of customer support was unacceptable. What could have been better? Clear communication during the cancellation Accessible customer service (phone support that actually answers) Proper in-person assistance at the airport Rebooking onto a comparable routing rather than a significantly longer one

We had a very long delay. First the inbound flight took a while, then maintenance, they “fixed it” to then do boarding and leave the gate, and waste a lot of time to have to go back to the gate and eventually deplane. Had to wait for a new aircraft, wait for a gate, and do the whole thing again. Instead of leaving at 9:50am we left until past 1. I could’ve not woken up at 5am, or spend some more time with my family if they gave more grace period of time between flights to give some time in case of any issues. But they have to make all and every dollar possible

It was delayed by almost 90 minutes and that messed up our plans but it was beyond UA’s control that is what we heard

Terrible experience. Flight was delayed then canceled. They had no clue how to rebook us. Had to wait in line to take to a gate agent for 2 hours. Absolutely terrible from start to finish.

Most expensive flight… and they are trying to pinch more and more money out of you. Baggage, snacks, pillows, headphones… — so many airlines do far better than this… surely a national airline can do better?

We have already filed a formal complaint with Air Canada and are considering filing a complaint with the US Dept. of Transportation. Air Canada was impossible to reach in the two days leading up to our flight despite multiple calls and waits of more than one hour. Their website is designed to prevent reaching anyone and simply puts you into one doom loop after another. In the end, due to Air Canada's lack of communciation and unresponsiveness, we could not take this flight. Depending on how Air Canada responds to our complaint, we may never fly this airline again and advise the rest of the world to do the same.

I was in Business Class row 7 on a 787-9. Both times I didn't get my choice of food. Otherwise, excellent!
