Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The crew were friendly & made us feel welcomed"
Cons: "I have no complain it was good for the most part for, more food lol"
Pros: "Nothing much to write home about, but I didn't worry about anything in particular during my 4hr flight from Edmonton to Toronto."
Cons: "The crew were not too courteous, but I've come to expect a little bit of cheery happiness from them after flying porter. Not sure I'd complain about this, though. The food was the highlight. The only vegetarian option was mac-n-cheese, and it was horrid. I didn't even try finishing it."
Pros: "Gate crew were very good at keeping us apprised of the status of the inbound plane and our estimate departure time. The flight crew were all very helpful and engaging. Not easy on a packed flight where too many people brought too many carry-on bags."
Cons: "I am a true-blue Air Canada customer but their checked baggage fees has created a disaster when it comes to boarding flights and getting planes in the air on-time. Many people had too many carry-on bags or very large carry-on bags so the time it took to board was ridiculous. Better rules need to be enforced with carry on (not that I blame people for trying, considering the increase in checked baggage fees) so that flights can be boarded more quickly and planes can take off on time."
Pros: "Service was outstanding!"
Cons: "The lunch was average at best. Comedy show selections were terrible (in my opinion). I miss the days of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Arrested Development."
Pros: "Extra legroom but I paid for that"
Cons: "Not getting the meal I prepaid for and the curtain of business class constantly hitting me it was not good."
Cons: "Took an hour to de-ice. The snow was forecasted. I understand it's the airport operations, not airline, but there should be a better way."
Pros: "Pretty smooth flight overall. That being said, I don’t mean nd turbulence, the air pockets really get to me. Great service though"
Cons: "For 2 1/2 hours the baby was kicking the back of my seat. I Thurber around a few times, said something once the the so called parents were not willing to help. I mentioned it to the flight attendednt but being a full flight there were no seat. Changes available. The parents even switched seats but only with each other, they kept the baby behind me. I can only hope they have a baby kicking their seat in the future"
Pros: "On board crew was friendly and capable."
Cons: "My first and last flight on the CRJ 9. It's much less comfortable than a prop plane, for a 90 minute+ flight."
Pros: "Great service- friendly patient helpful, pilots that kept passengers updated and very reassuring and confident sounding. KAYAK got me perfect seats!"
Cons: "Food wasn’t spectacular, and being limited to credit card purchasing is always a problem for many travellers. Pre-purchasing options are a great option except for last minute wishes."
Pros: "the staff very helpful , respectful, didn't feel rush they had their attention on helping me .Very grateful Thank you all"
Pros: "I didn’t like anything"
Cons: "I had problems rebooking , they made multiply mistakes costing ME over 300 dollars cad ... very upset , flight was cancelled, they didn’t pay for my hotel .. worst experience.. flying with west jet next time"
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "Air Canada was a disaster on our vacation. Delays, re bookings, cancellations. Every thing was told to us as an excuse from the weather, flight attendant was running late, not staffed enough, need supplies on the plane, someone died, planes needing de-icing, planes too small, planes overbooked... you name it they said it! New York to Toronto, Toronto to Edmonton and return. Not one single flight was on time! We got put in a Hotel - only nice part of the trip - got Vouchers for $15 each - such a low amount!!! Didn't get our luggage with our clothes and amenities to use at the hotel - had to sleep in our plane clothes. Spend extra money we didn't have... it was awful! We will be staying away from Air Canada for awhile!"
Cons: "It was good"
Cons: "Flight was delayed due to ATC"
Cons: "Bad experience."

Pros: "on time"
Cons: "My bag was delayed and I end up paying to buy a pant from sports chek and now when I am trying to connect with Air Canada flight to make a claim, they are not even responding to my request."
Pros: "The crew on board all flights were pleasant and efficient."
Cons: "When I arrived at my destination I found that the item I had gate checked had been damaged- an instrument case I was no longer able to close. The zippers had both been busted off. Due to time constraints I was invited to write a review and email which I intend to do. The item itself was gate checked for safety - and to me the damage says that still somehow it is unsafe to fly with an instrument which as a professional musician is frustrating. In addition flights have very limited food options that accommodate persons with gluten/dairy allergies."
Pros: "Two full drink services was nice"
Cons: "USB outlet didn't work, and my seat didn't have a normal AC outlet"
Pros: "Arrived on time"
Pros: "The snack selection is excellent"
Cons: "No complaints"
Pros: "Paid for the "upgraded" seat only to be told we had to be in the back of the plane. Moving back all rows had one person and one chair open, so we had to sit apart. Useless crew as an elder couple asked to sit together and were told to check with passengers. Oh and the flight was delayed 3 times."
Pros: "Check-in was smooth Air Canada were helpful as am travel with special needs"
Cons: "Nothing for now."
Cons: "Same as above. Flight delayed by 45 minutes. No explanation given as to why... no inclement weather or other issues that day."
Pros: "Lost bag"
Cons: "The post office lost my passport and I was unable to go on this flight. Customer service was unwilling to provide a solution that did not cost thousands of dollars to rebook and see my family for Christmas."
Pros: "Seating and on time"
Pros: "Crew was polite and helpful."
Cons: "The Edmonton lounge is not sufficient. Minimal food. It is supposed to be above and beyond, but not worth trying to get points for."
Pros: "The trip to Edmonton was very smooth and right on time. Everything was very good.....including the baby behind us. I will fly Air Canada again."
Cons: "I didn't like the change in gate at Edmonton to Vancouver. No one told us until boarding time. Even tho there was ample time to get there since it was the next door gate, I was in a wheelchair and if it had been any further, it could've been a disaster. We arrived right on time. I'd go Air Canada again."
Pros: "Free business class"
Cons: "Food and no entrainment available"
Pros: "was a really great trip- I took the dreamliner last week and that was an amazing treat"
Cons: "Westjet gives pretzels or cookies complementary- I was surprised Air Canada didn't do the same Was a little squishy but all planes are!"
Pros: "Left on time, arrived on time. Tell the complainers that they should try flying Aeroflot."
Cons: "Nothing bad to say other than passengers should seriously re-consider taking babies and toddlers on the red-eye flights. Let your kids have a good night sleep and fly during the day."
Pros: "Flight was on time. Flight attendants were pleasent."
Pros: "In general, everything is fine. Boarding was good"
Cons: "Lack of food options for people with celiac disease. No ingredients on the dip in carrots and celery dip. Was told it was gluten free, but had a very bad reaction to it."
Cons: "Flight was delays from anotjer air company i had to paid 160$ to get on the next one.."
Pros: "Comfortable and quiet"
Cons: "Baggage fees and no snacks."
Pros: "Good selection of free movies and shows on board. Some great and helpful flight attendants."
Cons: "The staff at check in were not overly helpful. We were running late and possibly going to miss our flight and they did not seem willing to help us out at all."
Pros: "The crew was inviting, helpful, and very kind."
Cons: "Entertainment system did not work. No WIFI on the plane (which was, admittedly disclosed upon ticket purchase, so it was no fault of air canada). Chairs were very uncomfortable and the individual in front of me reclined fully for the entire trip."
Cons: "Both my flights (there and back) were delayed, my luggage was lost after I was asked to volunteer to check it in and on the delay (YYC to YUL), I wasn't even given a food voucher after being made to wait 8h in the airport. This was AFTER the crew promised they would hold the other flights (also operated by AC)"
Pros: "The loading was better organized then in the past, so smoother; not as chaotic."
Cons: "No amenities offered other than a free thimble of something to drink. I'm waiting for them to charge for breathable air."
Pros: "Landed alive in vancouver"
Cons: "Second time in two months that they delayed my flight by at least 3 hours."
Cons: "Staff needed assistance in folding stroller - whereas this has never been a concern on porter. - stroller was thrown on the floor at landing and retrieval."
Cons: "Slow and stupid some of passages"
Pros: "In-flight entertainment console is pretty good"
Cons: "Departure was 40 minutes delayed right off the bat for reasons unknown and unexplained. Then, worse, mechanical trouble on the tarmack, we had to return to the gate and power down the plane, while still remaining on board, unventilated and unpleasantly sweaty, in the dark even for a while. What should have been a quick 1.5 hour flight and 8:30pm arrival thus became a sweaty 4-hour ordeal and almost 11pm arrival. Not the end of the world, but I was a bit taken aback at the absence of apologetic behaviour, like perhaps serving drinks while we're sweating on the tarmack, or heaven forbid, a meal of some sort considering we were departing later than we should have all already been home."
Cons: "Lack of sleep"
