Cons: "When I arrived to check in at 5:48am for my 6:20am flight, I was treated very poorly. The lady at the counter asked me what time my flight was and I said 6:20 and right off the bat she was extremely rude and said that I missed the flight. I panicked internally and asked her how that was possible?! She said the cutoff was at 5:45am and I missed it. I asked if there were other flights available today or tomorrow and she said there was nothing she could do and that I had to call the booking company to see if they could book me. I wanted to cry because my friend had just dropped me off and I called to see if she was close enough to turn back. Luckily she hadn’t left yet. I called the booking company and they were able to book me a trip for the following day but they charged me an additional $100. I wish they had disclosed that we need to be there 45 minutes to an hour early otherwise you miss your flight. And it’s ridiculous that I had to pay an extra $100... financially it was stressful due to the covid 19 situation. I was extremely disappointed in how the lady at the check in counter at American Airlines treated me. She www extremely rude and I have never been spoken to in a way that made me feel attacked."

Cons: "The flight was delayed for over 2 hours because of a reported maintenance issue with the aircraft but was originally delayed because of not having flight attendants available. When the flight attendants did finally arrive they all had an attitude of wishing to be anywhere but on this flight. The lead flight attendant even got into a verbal altercation with the gate agent demanding help getting people's bags into the overhead compartment because she was "injured" & not supposed to be at work. All in all a quite dissatisfying experience but not an uncommon one with this airline & this airport. I will use both only when I have absolutely no other options."

Pros: "I am traveling with my 79yr old infirm mother. The crew was so kind & so helpful! On the scale of 1-10 (10=Best) they were like 100! Even though my flight was delayed a bit it was still VERY GOOD! Plus the flight was amazing. The flight was also amazing. Even though we were flying though a storm."

Pros: "I have never experienced as smooth a landing on both legs of the trip. I’ve never flown American before and in comparison to other air lines I think they must have the most experienced pilots. Everything else was equal in quality to other US airlines I’ve flown, the usual stuff on long distance flights - but I felt the staff were a notch above the others as regards friendliness and helpfulness. I had a very smooth trip, no delays or problems. I will fly with them again."

Cons: "My grandparents were supposed to have escorts and assistants with their baggage, as they don't speak English and are elderly. In addition, one of their suitcases was lost and the other was rifled through. The overall service was very discouraging."

Cons: "There is no legroom in coach. I am six foot seven and my knees cram against the seat in front of me to the point my legs go numb."

Cons: "There was an announcement made after takeoff that due to "turbulence" no hot beverages would be served. That is just unbelievable! I spent a good amount on a ticket and you mean to tell me that you won't serve coffee due to turbulence?? Turbulence is staple of every flight. What an excuse!!! American Airlines stinks! No tvs on any of the flights too."

Cons: "While waiting for our baggage in Phoenix, we noticed a few random bags with tears, rips and clothes hanging out. Then we saw our suitcase. The zipper was torn away from the lining so that it no longer closes all the way. There items hanging out of the gap. What was happening in the basement that caused at least 4 damaged bags?"

Cons: "American Airlines Seats were too close together. The plane was way way too hot. Asked the flight attendants and spoke to the captain after the flight as the front coach section of the aircraft was at least 10 degrees hotter than the rear. We were all taking layer of off cloths as it was so hot. Seems the first class attendants were not monitoring the temps which regulars the temps just behind first class. Told the flight attendant who also acknowledged it but the first class attendants did not make the change Many were angry. We were on the Tarmac for almost 1.5 hours waiting for the plane to be de-iced. No AC during the process."

Cons: "Boarding, not their fault but I was selected for extra security! Took me to a separate area, made me take off my shoes, pulled out the insoles, emptied my bags....and then left everything out for me to rearrange."

Cons: "British Airways cancelled my return without warning or even notice, I found by chance a few days before my return trip while checking the schedule. I had to spend an hour on the phone between British Airways and their code share on American Airlines and rebuy my seats on American. I am still waiting for the re-imbursement of the first cancelled seats ..."

Pros: "It wasn't a full flight so I had more legroom, since I didn't have a person sit beside me on both flights. The flights arrive on time. Boarding was organized, quick and effective."
Cons: "Flight attendant provided a snack to everyone and forgot to offer a snack to me. There were children on both flights, kicking my seat through 60% of the flight. There was not entertainment provided for brief flights and the snack selection was mediocre."
