Pros: "my flight going to Peru was disappointing the entertainment unit in front of me did not work I tried to get help from the steFf but they just smile and walk away service was terrible on my way back from Peru the plane broke down in Bogotá Columbia we were trapped inside the plane for three hours with no air-conditioning we disembarked and they offered us to stay in a hotel but the hotel voucher took a very long time to receive we ended up going to the hotel at 3 o’clock in the morning to get up at 5 o’clock in the morning for the return flights very disappointed will not fly Avianca again"

Pros: "We never too this flight as Avianca cancelled our original flight. Your partner in Airfare.com was absolutely zero help in helping us resolve the issue. They told me I had to contact Avianca directly to resolve the matter. The only flights they had available were on different days."
Cons: "I am still trying to get a refund from the airline for a flight that they knew I was never going to take. I will never use any sort of third-party service for booking anything again. What is the point using it if it will be zero help when I did not cause the changes that occurred??"

Cons: "The flight was delayed 4 hours. At the time when we were supposed to depart, nobody from the airline was at the counter outside the designated gate. I asked couple of people from Avianca and they told me the flight was departing at the original time, which was not correct. The flight first was pushed to 1 am departure (3 hours delay) and then to 4 am departure (4 hours delay). After several people asked about the flight and an hour after the original departure time, the airline finally had staff at the counter indicating the new departure time and apologizing for the inconvenience. The airline offered a meal at the airport, but I didn't find this through their representatives, but through another passenger. The gate changed about 5 times, which I understand is not under the airline control, but part of this probably could have been prevented with better coordination. My first day in La Paz was horrible, as I couldn't even sleep waiting for my flight to depart. Thank you Avianca!"

Cons: "At checkin, I was told my bag could not be loaded onto the plane because of some kind of weight limit, despite having made a reservation for it online. I was told my only possible option was to take another set of flights that arrived at my destination much later than I was originally scheduled. Rather than two flights via Bogota to Mexico City, I had to be routed through Lima, then San Salvador, the Mexico City. Highly inconvenient."

Pros: "The seats were very comfortable with a fresh package of pillow/blanket and earphones waiting for us. A free meal, and snack. The take-off and landing were timely."
Cons: "The bathroom was the worst I have ever seen. Old urine splattered on the seat (it had to have been left uncleaned from an earlier flight). There was no soap, The floor as still wet from urine and tp was still there. I was disguisted. Also there were only one bathroom in the back of the plane, which must have been a way to get more available seats. If other airplanes take that tactic, I'll stop flying altogether."

Cons: "The flight was canceled, 2-3 day ahead of flight, leaving us scrambling for flights to get me to meetings. Avianca was difficult to contact. The new last minute flights were schedule on COPA...cost us an extra 3000 dollars last minute. To add insult to in jury......the COPA leg from New York was canceled at the airport due to a mechanical problem. We were suppose to leave on Tuesday at 3:25 and get to Bucaramanga that night..........DID NOT HAPPEN. We finally, after two nights in two different cities hotel rooms, we got to Buca on Thursday morning about 10:30 am. COPA's help, was awful............confused, non professional. We could not get food from noon on one day to about 5 the next morning. COPA did not care."
Cons: "First, the departure terminal didn't show up on the reader boards until it was almost time to go, so I had to sprint down to our gate. Then, they boarded by zones, but I had no idea what zone I was supposed to be in and it was nowhere on my ticket. Anywhere. Then, when I finally decided to go try to board, they wouldn't let me because they said I didn't have a return ticket. In fact, I had proof of onward travel in three different forms. But they insisted that I had to have a flight as proof of leaving Guatemala and assured me that customs would prevent me from entering. They also said I had 5 minutes to book something or I would miss the flight. No one ever paged me to discuss this prior to departure! And do you know how much Guatemala asked about my onward travel? Zero. Nada. In the fluster of buying an almost $400 ticket, I clicked to book through a third party that doesn't allow refunds. Fortunately, after I landed I called them right away to cancel and managed to make it happen since the ticket hadn't been issued, but if I had failed at that it would have been at least $130 when all was said and done. Ride was uncomfortable, flight attendants we're rude and impatient, and I was ignored for food service."

Crew arguing with passengers. TV set on my seat was broken 8F. I paid almost &40 to upgrade to a closer seat from the original. When drink cart came out attendant offering drinks only was speaking Spanish. My daughter in law doesn’t speak Spanish. I kept telling him and all he said was she must not want a drink and moved on to the next row. Worse flight experience ever. I flew over 100,000 miles so far this year on alaska airlines and was never treated this way.

Cons: "Ticket counter was stubborn to release our boarding passes despite having already checked in online. Saying we were “too late”. The kiosk would not release our boarding passes either. Yet, we breezed right through security to the gate and we’re first to board the plane having had to actually wait awhile before boarding. The ticket counter person unnecessarily made us wait even longer when we were already running late due to having spent 11 hours in the hospital day prior from E. coli. The boarding process was also sloppy. Three different attendants asked to see our passports. Why did everyone need to verify us? We were asked very silly and seemingly unnecessary questions before boarding further slowing the process. We were asked before boarding if we had checked a bag, not sure what difference that made."

No seating available, no PA for announcements, basically controlled chaos. granted the airport is going through renovations, but that is still no excuse for the poor execution of the boarding process."

I bring a musical instrument And the airline CHARGE ME!! That’s robbery. The shoul allowed me past my instrument that have the size permitted in their policy as a checked bad. They didn’t refund my money! It’s robbery!"

Missed the flight and Aeromexico made us pay to grab another flight while it was Aeromexico personel that refused to allow us in even though it was not yet departure time and said plane doors were closed."

Cons: "We arrived at the airport to find that they had overbooked the plane and our family's 4 seats were in jeopardy. We had to wait until they had processed everyone else in line, even though we had gotten there first, because either they were in the "sky priority" line or because maybe they had pre-bought their seat assignments. After a tense 20 minutes of waiting, they closed the flight and let us have our seats. Then, at the gate, they confiscated two of our most important carry on bags and checked them because they said that children are not allowed a carry on item -- despite paying full freight for their seats! It was very nerve-wracking at our arrival destinations as these two items were not padlocked and were the very last to come on the conveyor belt."

But I change my mind and decided to have a cary on. when I arrived at the airport I told an agent that I wanted to bring my suitcase as carry-on and she said that it was too large. So I had to wait in line. When I finally fot to the counter the agent and the agent realized I had already paid. She said that I could try take my suitcase under my own responsibility because she thought security would send me back. I was very surprised to hear this because it is a computer case. I did not have any problems and was able to embark. The plane had not bern clean. The pocket underneath my table had a used kleenex and the table of the person seated next to my had coffee spilled. During the 5:50 hrs only once were we offer a drink. Really bad service for an international flight."
