Pros: "Flight connections,"
Cons: "The seating was cramped, no entrainment package."
Cons: "Connections to US destinations now require your checked in baggage to be processed before you can proceed to your connecting flights. The real problem is that this is no sign or communications describing this. Everyone is simply stopped in the corridor and told that they cannot proceed farther until their name comes up green on a monitor. Unfortunately the monitor switches displays so frequently that it is almost impossible to read. In addition to that it seems names do not always appear on the monitor unless you get your boarding pass scanned a the desk (this is not communicated to you unless you ask why your name is not on the monitor at all). People late for connecting flights (because of inbound flight delays) are required to wait without explanation sometimes needlessly if they don't have a checked bag. A nightmare if you're trying to make your connection. In addition once you've cleared that hurdle you need to go through security again (something we were unprepared for since we were already in the secure area. You then proceed to customs and then your connecting flight (if you haven't already missed it by then). Allow lots of time to get to your connecting flight, and ask to get you boarding pass scanned at that mysterious "checked bag" stop in the corridor."
Pros: "Took off early; landed early. Helpful crew and a good amount of food and beverages were served."
Pros: "Flight was mercifully short."
Cons: "Air Canada canceled other short haul flights and jammed the overflow passengers onto our flight which resulted in our flight being late and overcrowded. Passengers that came from the canceled flight complained that this wasn't the first time Air Canada had done this."
Cons: "My flight from NYC to Montreal was significantly delayed because the plane was late getting to NYC. This caused several passengers to miss our connecting flight to Quebec City. Air Canada put us on another flight that didn't depart until over 24 hours later! Despite our efforts, we were not offered any help in getting on an earlier flight, and the airline was unwilling to give us hotel vouchers or rental car vouchers. We paid for a rental car and drove ourselves from Montreal to Quebec City. Both of our returning flights were delayed as well. I understand things happen when traveling, but I expect some type of help/ reimbursement/ or sympathy (at a minimum) from the airline! This was my first and will be my only time flying Air Canada."
Pros: "We had a very good experience with Air canada and will use Air Canada again."
Pros: "I got from point A to point B"
Cons: "I lost over a day of my trip because a flight was cancelled and wasted 6 hours trying to rebook with no help from the staff, who were extremely rude. Everyone on the canceled flight had to be aggressive at getting a new flight booked because there was no help. Every time you asked an associate from Aur Canada for help, the passed the problem off not taking any responsibility. If your name is on my ticket, then it's your responsibility. Worst experience traveling by far. Also lost over a day of my expensive trip that I've been waiting to go on for awhile and saved my money for a year. I lost hundreds of dollars in events and hotels. Avoid Air Canada if possible"
Pros: "Japan airport departing on time."
Cons: "No backseat entertainment Entertainment streamed through Wifi which got cut off constantly. Seat is hard"
Cons: "For some reason we were forced to check our luggage (standard curry-ons) however it would completely fit to ovehead bins. Also waiting area were completely cut-off from Duty-Free shops - as soon as you passed security - no access to shopping area."
Pros: "A great flight!"
Pros: "Interior of the air craft basically clean. Arrangements To air craft are in order."
Cons: "Air circulation and air conditioning is lower than Normal. Is kind of humid. My section are lower Than other sections."
Pros: "The people at Air Canada were friendly and clear with what was going on."
Cons: "Flight was delayed even though the plane was at the gate."
Pros: "The snack selection is excellent"
Cons: "No complaints"
Pros: "Friendliness of stewardship."
Cons: "In flight entertainment didn't work in laptop and steward was not familiar enough with the app to troubleshoot the problem. Limited variety of entertainment. Bumpy flight even at landing. The airplane was making weird noises since the engine started. Food variety is also limited and very expensive for what you get"
Cons: "Same as above. Flight delayed by 45 minutes. No explanation given as to why... no inclement weather or other issues that day."
Cons: "tight seats, charge for food"
Pros: "Staff was really friendly, the flight attendant was even wearing a little witch hat for Halloween, which I really liked. Due to an underbooked flight, we had free choice of seat, because I originally was booked on an aisle seat, I could change to a window seat, that was nice. Since it was a small machine from Toronto to Minneapolis (a little more than 1,5h flight), there was no entertainment system, besides the nice view out of the window. And who likes to start a movie during such a short flight, to not be able to finish it? They also ask you to hand in your carry-on before you enter the plane, because there is not enough space for it inside, which I liked, no wiggeling along the aisle with a little trolley, I just fetched it outside the plane after we landed."
Cons: "Unfortunately, Air Canada didn't serve gluten-free snacks on any of my flights yet (I had good gluten free food though). This is not meant as a negative review, because as an allergic you're usually prepared. It's more a suggestion for gluten-free snacks, peanuts or m&m's work as well as most gummy bears or chocolates :)"
Pros: "Excellent service throughout the flight"
Pros: "Crew is quite young and friendly.. good service. Boarding was quick and easy. Blanket and neck pillow package were comfy and worth the $7"
Cons: "The plane was FREEZING and the seats are a bit cramped."
Pros: "crew was attentive."
Cons: "(The mini sandwiches were a little gross.) and I would've liked to have been able to dim the brightness of the screen more, especially when people were sleeping."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed and we lost our connection flight"
Pros: "Their 787 is indeed a dream to fly! The flight felt much shorter than on other airplanes."
Cons: "Their website didn't work for checking in, then their offices were closed most of the time, with no 24 hr support, leaving me high and dry on several occasions when I needed to check in, and when I needed to make a special meal request."
Pros: "Its entertainment"
Cons: "very uncomfortable coach seats and 4 hour delay in Vancouver airport"
Pros: "Got us home safely. Confortable seats."
Cons: "Left one piece of luggage behind. Had to wait for it to be sent on next flight."
Pros: "Pilot kept in good communication with passengers"
Cons: "Crew was a bit stern and not as friendly as could be"
Cons: "Long line and not much organization during boarding"
Pros: "We got there safe."
Cons: "Got to airport in morning only to find out flight delayed 3.5 hours. No prior notification so instead of waiting in my comfortable home I got to wait at airport. Check in lady was a witch - sorry I made you do your job. Bounced my luggage for being 3 lbs over. Lame excuse of plane mechanical problems for delay. My girlfriend flew same flight 10 days earlier and had same thing happen. If Air Canada has that many mechanical issues I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy about them."
Cons: "Plane was broken. Air condition did not worked. Flight was 2.5 hours late. Missed our connection to Budapest."
Pros: "The we flight itself was fine. 787, good selection of onboard entertainment. Seats were a bit cramped but not too bad."
Cons: "Hour and a half late arriving. New flight plan, more fuel."
Cons: "Without notice, flight was delayed more than 3 hours."
Pros: "The entertainment options were decent. Food wasn't bad. The crew courteous and helpful."
Cons: "The booking and ticketing department for Air Canada messed up quite a bit with our trip overall. It wasn't just one narrow event: even after the delayed flight, and 6 hour phone call to get rebooked, we had to use international roaming charges at the Shanghai airport to call and get them to correct an error they made with our flight out of Shanghai. The flights themselves were alright, but I want to use every opportunity I have to complain about the booking and customer service process."
Cons: "10:30am flight delayed for three hours. They moved my flight to 7:30am and no one told me. Someone claims they did not have my email address. The thing is, I received at least three emails prior to the flight from AirCanada, one was my itinery. So whoever couldn't find my email address must be looking on another planet or something."
Pros: "The plane didn't crash."
Cons: "We were dehydrated and the flight attendants were stingy with WATER."
Pros: "We had a pretty uneventful flight from Tampa to Toronto using Air Canada. That is a good thing. The airline offers complementary juices and drinks of the nonalcoholic variety. No complaints."
Cons: "Flight delayed. Attendant told us to come back tomorrow and we could get on the same flights just a day later. Really?? not that stupid. Had problems getting a room overnight - management said we weren't in the system. Gentleman at air canada desk very rude - even told his partner in front of us he couldn't stand this part of his job."
Pros: "Flight got delayed twice I had to go to the airport 3 times, finally the personal change me to another airline. I payed over 250 just in taxi to and from the airpor, plus 300 dollars in hotel reservations plus 250 in tours. The airline other than continue rebooking and printing more and more boarding passes did nothing"
Cons: "Flight got delayed twice I had to go to the airport 3 times, finally the personal change me to another airline. I payed over 250 just in taxi to and from the airpor, plus 300 dollars in hotel reservations plus 250 in tours. The airline other than continue rebooking and printing more and more boarding passes did nothing"
Pros: "The selection of current movies was varied enough (the content got a little staler on the return trip). The hot food tasted good and was hot. The crew was not stingy with the drinks, which I always like even if they come around fewer times"
Cons: "How hard it is to be comfortable/sleep in the tiny seat."
Pros: "Flight attendants came by frequently to offer drinks."
Cons: "Entertainment system was slow and buggy, and very difficult to select anything. Took 5 minutes to turn the volume down."
Pros: "Airplane was clean and crew was nice."
Cons: "Fast boarding"
Cons: "The frustrating portion was the airline's lack of desire to fix our problems. The first flight was late because of mechanical issues and then Air Canada was not at all forthcoming in getting us rebooked on the next flight. Something that should have been quite simple involved me having to fight with workers just to get put on a new flight -- nobody wanted to actually do the work."
Cons: "Once my flight was delayed, it caused much confusion, missed connections, and rerouting"
Cons: "My 10:10 flight got cancelled snd AC put us on an earlier flight so that my layover was over 6 hours in Toronto to catch my flight to Tokyo Haneda. That was very painful."
Cons: "Over 1 hour waiting on phone and disconnected. Terrible. Check-in people didn't even say one single word of apology. they suggested call Air Canada."
Cons: "They kept us in the airplane 3 hours before"
Pros: "I got home."
Cons: "Typical noisy turbo prop plane. It was an hour late."
Cons: "It was good"
Pros: "The economy seats were pretty comfortable and the movie selection was decent. I liked the auto-dimming windows and the light meant to mimic the sunrise. The staff on board was excellent and accommodating."
Cons: "The scheduling for this flight was terrible. We ended up leaving 20 minutes late due to a busy airport, but that wasn't so bad. We were told that upon arrival in Canada we would have to get our luggage from baggage claim and recheck it through customs. I understand that is the policy, but only a 1 hour layover was planned! If we were rushing straight to our next flight, this would have been fine, but when I booked I was unaware of the customs policies. Air Canada knew this and should not have booked flights so closely together. We missed our next flight, which caused us to miss our second flight, which meant we were stuck in Toronto for two days."
