No point in asking pre check in only to ask for the same info at the desk. Waiting in line 20 minutes to get car is unacceptable. I was not aware I rented a fully electric vehicle until I got to the desk to check in. After agreeing to that I walked out to garage to have to wait in line again. Came to my turn and no electric vehicle available. I was good with "upgrade" to another vehicle. Overall experience was horrible. I won't rent from dollar again.Reviewed 3 Mar. 2024

The check in process was poor, at best. I was told to go back inside after the kiosk associate told me I was in the wrong to see her first. This was incorrect. I had a contract as a VIP member and the sign posted about check in prior to 11am was correct which it wasn’t. Once I received my car and logged it with SunPass and loaded bags I was denied exit due to a registration issue/given the wrong 3 row SUV. I was asked to drive back, see the same rude woman and get a new SuV. Unload. Load again. Re-register with SunPass. Oh, except this time the car they gave me was the body of a three row SUV without the option ticked for the seats themselves. Lovely, as I needed the seats for my family and not so much for the extra bag space. I left. Made it worked but so aggravating. No more Dollar. There was a long (2 hours) queue when picking up the car at the airport. When picking up the car it had been cleaned with a very smelly cleaner. The smell did not go away during the entire 3 week rental. The dropping off was easy and fast - so it was totally opposite experience between picking up and dropping off the car. I was charged an additional $450 for insurance that I declined. I didn’t notice until after I left the airport, so I called the 800 number. I was told that I could go to any hertz location and they would fix it. The next morning I went and found a hertz location near where I was staying and they said that I had to return to the airport (an hour away). The employee said that they get 10+ people coming in everyday with the same complaint so apparently this is their regular practice! Desk clerk refused to give us the car reserved (we saw several of them in the lot on our way out), tried to upsell a larger model, said our luggage wouldn't fit in it (SUV), etc. Finally I said we just want the car we reserved and he let us go, but the $$ was higher than originally reserved.Reviewed 1 Nov. 2023

The price was right. The car was an older model. The car needed maintenance and was never done. We had a flat tire notice and thus happened back in July. But nothing was done apparently. The car was not safe and it spoiled our vacation with lack of confidence in the car for use and the tire issue. So disappointing.Reviewed 3 Oct. 2023

Entire process a scam. Three people in front of me in line were also unsuccessful in getting the company to honor their reservation. I was told that I couldn’t pick up my car (even though I paid in advance) because the magnetic strip on my credit card wouldnt work in their broken machine. They refused to type the numbers in manually, use my chip, use another card, or use Apple Pay. I have Used the magnetic strip on my credit card at with other vendors before and after the interaction. I left this location questioning if they ever had a rental available for me in the first place, and if they were just trying to turn me away. The person before me was told they can’t pick up their reserved car (which they also paid in advance for) because they didn’t have a plane ticket departing from their drop off location. This company takes your money with a deposit and then refuses to honor their commitments or refunds. This is clearly something that happens frequently, as all of the associates were combative and appeared to be prepared for an issue with every guest that approached. I have rented cars countless times in my life and I have never experienced anything like I have with dollar/thrifty. If you continue to accept reservations for cars at this location, you will continue to get customer complaints, refund demands, and disputed credit card transactions.Reviewed 24 Jun. 2021
