Cons: We’d ordered a room with a balcony but we were on a very low floor so didn’t really look out on anything other than other rooms - even if it’s a ‘city view’ maybe request a higher floor as our balcony was kind of pointless.

Cons: The bliss spa is gone. Their spa is just in a suite right now.. kinda awkward.. if you're not used to spas... and know what to expect then maybe you wouldn't notice but if you're used to 5 star resorts with a full service spa then you'd be very disappointed

It takes 30 for the valet to bring a car from the parking... Their excuse was that this is a particularly busy weekend. So basically they charge double the price and provide half of the service

Cons: For $ 500.00 room, the size of the bathroom sink and sideboard area was very small. A woman need much more room for make up kit, hair brush , blow dryer etc, my toiletries had to go on water tank and grab bar above. The seating arrangement for two people was very poor, the tiny desk chair and lounge chair was unacceptable, need at least a love seat, ting closet, need room for two suit case racks.

Cons: Our room is next to the housekeeping staff room. They woke us every morning with their loud bantering. This is not ok. The mojito and raspberry vodka drinks were watered down even after we asked for two shots (for which we paid extra) I was shocked at the cost. I’ve been a guest at many FourSeason, Ritz Carlton and other hotels. While drinks were pricey, they were made to perfection.

The staff was amazing and I was very impress with their ability to provide the service they possibly could. I worked for the Ritz Carlton Hotel and they we’re just as capable of provoking the same service.

Cons: When booking I thought I was getting Ocean view. We got an ally view. Also the resort fees are $45 and valet your car is $40 per day, our room sink wouldn't drain and shower was only cold water. Mgmt took off $90 resort fee for that. Keep looking

Cons: Value for money is a bit misaligned in my view. The rooms are old and need a bit of refurbishing. We paid $2,500 for six days - which is fine, when the value is there. They hit you up for a $42 a day charge for beach chairs - which we never used. The charge was a bit of a surprise for me as it is a bit hidden in the fine print on their page.

Cons: We had one disappointment with the Residence Inn on South Beach: the Amenity Fee ($22 daily). The provided amenities were not of interest to us and represented no value. More annoying, the card that explained the fee began by describing the fee as a “convenience” to us. While it was definitely not a convenience to us, I understand that it was a profit item for the Residence Inn, and the Marriott Corporation has every right to set its pricing structure as it sees fit. I would have been less annoyed if the Amenity Fee had just been included in the daily room charge and the Marriott Corporation had avoided the charade of presenting it as a “convenience.”

Sadly if current management continues in the direction witnessed during my stay over the 4th, The Raleigh as we knew it is gone. Before this last nightare of a stay I would have described The Raleigh as romantic, beach/waterfront, boutique but now I would describe it as having poor service, poor management, poor cleanliness.
The interesting part was that everyone working there knew it was awful, it seemed the upper level management/decision makers for the property were off site for the weekend or perhaps hiding as it was that bad.

Cons: Rooms and systems in serious need of updating. Although clean, rooms are fairly small and attention to detail was not great. Worst was the clanging pipes all night long. We had to turn on the fan to overcome the constant banging. We thought it was the elevator but other guests had the same problem. AC barely functioned on last night. The TV had so much static we could not use it and screen res was terrible.

Cons: We took their last reservation of the night at their nice restaurant and despite spending $150-200 on a bottle of wine and steaks, we were told to hurry up and order as soon as we got there because "the kitchen was closing". It wasn't very classy. Our statement at checkout also had some BS extra charges we had to dispute. More hassle than it was worth except for the nice location.

It was a nightmare, there was no service for hotel guests, the pool was crammed and dirty/disgusting. There was a DJ with brain rattling base music blasting from morning to night.

Cons: Breakfasts not included and very poor value for the £59. they charged for two.
And to add 18% service charge to a bill for drink that you collect and pour yourself is a nonsense.
The pool was unusable as every seat was occupied by hyper hip youngsters from dawn to dusk and to charge $27 dollars for a parasol on a sun baked beach with no shade was daylight robbery.
With a hotel of this level so much could be done to improve the experience, needless to say we won’t be going again.

This hostel is located directly across the street from the bus stop, beach and boardwalk which is an easy bike ride or walk down famous Collins Ave (hotel district). The hostel rents bikes - the first 2 hours are FREE). The free daily breakfast is excellent. Fresh fruit, pastries, assortment teas, cereal and oatmeal. More than enough to fill your belly and take some for the road. There is a restaurant on site but I didn't eat there. If your budget is tight and you need a decent friendly hostel near to everything (especially if you are on foot), stay here.

Cons: We paid $ 140 per night and the room smelled bad, the airco made a lot of noise and next to our window were chairs where staff was smoking / talking etc. We travelled for over 4 months now and this was the most dissappointing (and expensive) place. Very inpersonal as well: digital checkin, digital checkout, litterally the only contact we had with a staff member was when he said we couldn't drink our own drink at the pool area. We didn't feel guests, but more like a businesscase.

Cons: The bathrooms in the women's quad need UPGRADING! They have old-fashioned tubs that catch grime and the drains look gross. The toilets and sinks are older. I also stayed in an 8-bed room and the bathrooms were much nicer.
The lines at the front desk can be long since there are typically only 2 staff, BUT they are friendly so don't argue!

Not only did she have all the info on where to go and what to do, but she is also one of the sweetest and most professional people I have ever seen work in a party hostel. Whenever something didn’t seem right and seemed shady, like some non-guest hanging around making someone uncomfortable or if we didn’t know how to get somewhere, or what the best bar was for the mood we were in, Anni was more than willing to help us with that. She told us where it’d be fun to go and what places maybe weren’t exactly what we were looking for. The few times someone kind of shady was bothering us or we thought something weird was going on, she knew exactly how to deal with it. I personally felt completely safe and relaxed talking to her about whatever was going on or whatever plans I had to get her view on it and see if she could advise me in any way. She really did make my stay a whole lot better and I’m sure that if you stay with them, she will make yours too.

Cons: Breakfast was just fine, coffee, cereals, milk, toast, pancakes and I think I saw hard-boiled eggs too. From 8-10 a.m., they didn’t run out of anything, or at least not that I noticed. No fruit, though, that would be a good addition, maybe some oranges or apples, just to eat something fresh in the morning, not just bread, cereal and pancakes. Dinner, on the other hand, can be quite hit-and-miss. You’re supposed to sign up for it before and it runs 6-8 p.m., and get it in that range if you’ve signed up, but in reality, you need to be there at 6, as soon as the cook starts handing plates out. I’ve gotten there at 6:45 and not gotten any even though I had signed up for it. I don’t feel right complaining about free dinner, but I also don’t like signing up for something and not getting it, even though I did everything the way they wanted me to. The menu changes every night. Some nights it may be just a hotdog with fries, other nights fish sticks or coleslaw with chicken breast. Nothing really amazing, but it’s a plate of food at the end of the day, so if you’re on a budget you’ll appreciate it.

If you arrive early for the check in, doesn't matter if you sent a request to arrive early or not, the guy of the reception will just look at you and say "10 dollars for the check in earlier". They make you pay 5 bucks just to leave the luggage there, so its up to you, pay 10 bucks to check in early or 5 bucks to leave your luggage in a place not reliable.

Cons: They don’t valet park large vehicles, you find this out on arrival, so you park in the parking garage that you need to take out a home equity loan to pay for (cost for valet per day $40, cost for self Parking per day, depends on how many times you enter leave the garage. One day I paid over 70$. Prostitutes are very busy”working” in front of the hotel and staff does nothing about it. We saw several enter the hotel with guests during our stay. We paid for a king room, upon arrival we get up to our room and it looks like someone has been staying in it, tv was on, bed was made but looked like someone had been laying on top of it with indentation on bedspread and pillows, dirty towels in the floor, tv on, commode seat up. Went back to front desk and they downgraded us to a double bed room with a view of the roof. Beds were small and uncomfortable. No discount in price or any extra amenities for our inconvenience. The beach area is not safe at night. We were told this by our hotel staff and the beach service staff, not a good place for anyone to stay. Very old place that I’m sure was nice at sometime but probably just needs to be torn down

Cons: Nothing dramatic, but the rooms are a little tired, e.g. old carpets and a slight musty smell as there is no ventilation from outside windows only air con. We arrived after a 16 hour flight and had booked for 2 adults and a child (a suite with sofa bed). The third bed was not made and staff not really apologetic... but they did sort out a bed reasonably quickly.

Pros:
Cons: The concierge was on the phone when the front desk person was away from the front desk. When I asked if there were any beach towels, she didn't stop her conversation as it looked like I was bothering her and just pointed to the front desk. I had to wait for the front desk person to arrive 5 minutes later for a beach towel.

Cons: Room was not clean. Only one willow on bed. Rudely pushed into our room stating they didnt believe us. Said they had no pillows. Also no blankets. Told us not to use the elevator it offen got stuck. Night staff said there was no breakfast, there was.

Cons: The bathroom was a little disappointing, there was no counter space. It is an older building so it’s understandable that things are not going to be totally modern but there was No space in the bathroom and the hair dryer plug was across from the sink

Cons: Limited choice of beer at the Hotel Bar but a Walgreens right across the street. They put an additional hold of $100.00 for incidentals on your credit card which does not get lifted for 3 to 5 business days.

Cons: The staff were extremely rude. They didn't have the correct room for us and claimed they have no association with Kayak. We were surprised with a $20 "service fee" which paid for a pathetic breakfast, inadequate wifi and beach towels. The wifi kicked you off every 15 min. The hotel looked like it was falling apart, don't let the pictures fool you. If all you want is a quick access to the beach, this is your hotel. If you expect standard hotel service, do not book here. I was appalled by the rudeness of the staff!!
