I’ve never seen anything worse. I could go on and on."

The staff at Frankfurt were incredibly rude telling passengers “I don’t have time for you”. I’ve never had a worse experience than with the ground staff Lufthansa in Frankfurt. Avoid at all costs.

I checked Lufthansa app and found that only flight that was shown was flight Toronto-Thunder Bay. After 3 hours of phoning I found that flight from Munich to Toronto wasn’t available for date that was given us in email. Only option was day earlier or later. Left us to take day earlier and we could not changed last flight( Toronto- Thunder Bay). We had to come on Aug 22. and stay in Toronto for 27 hours and than take a flight to Thunder Bay on Aug 23. We lost a day of our vacation, had to stay at hotel. Not good experience at all. We still don’t know whom to complain about that."

Cons: "We did not request special meals because in the past there has always been an option without cheese. For both legs of the trip, everything had cheese. They tasted great, but left my husband eating only bread. At the first meal the crew just shrugged their shoulders. Second meal they brought him a snack from business class, but it had cream cheese on the sandwich. Drinks were only served during the meals on an 8 hour flight. When crew came back through at the first meal, they only had two bottles of wine in hand offering top offs (no cart, just physically carrying the bottles). We do not drink alcohol. During the second meal I did not even see them offering the top offs. All other airlines have at least come through a couple of times offering water or soda. Announcements were only audible half the time. Customs forms were confusing for people passing through Canada. This might have been explained over the intercom, but again, it was hard to hear."

Cons: "At Budapest Airport only one check-in desk, #1 was shown on the big board for this flight and the airline Lufthansa was only shown above the check-in desk #1, which was dedicated for First/Business and M&M Gold status travellers only. Many economy class passengers queued there and at the end they were all redirected to check-in desk #3, as that was designated for Economy class passengers (however not any Lufthansa sign was shown above. When I mentioned to the ground crew (Celebi) that they should improve signs and not mishandle travellers, the person in charge (Nikolett Magyar) said to me arrogantly that they are right, and nothing they would do to improve the signs and passengers' information. This is far what I expect from LH representative, even if subcontracted and not an employee. That behaviour made my journey sour as travelling - especially with not a budget airline - is not just getting from A to B, but an experience which is worth to remember for good reasons, but not certainly for bad ones."

I understand that catering to special diet needs is not easy but following a gluten-free diet is not my choice, it is something I need to deal and live with on a daily basis. I felt disappointed since I had a long trip ahead of me, and I know that I, just like all the other passengers, had paid for the flight that should include the meal as well. Cons: "The flight was considered a Lufthansa flight and had a Lufthansa flight number, but was operated by Air Canada. We could not check in online ahead of time for some reason. When we got to the airport, we tried to check in at the Lufthansa kiosk and check in line, but they told us we had to go to the Air Canada area. The ticketing/check in process was very confusing. As for the food, the chicken "wrap" was not a wrap, and was a weird Hot-Pocket type meal. After each meal, we ended up having to hold our garbage for quite some time which made manuvering in and out of seats a little tricky. I wish the seat cushion had a little more cushion since we were sitting for so long. Also at some point the overhead lights came on and stayed on, which was annoying if you were trying to nap."

At no point in the booking process, when I paid over $800 for the trip, was I told that I needed a specific travel visa (Canadian ETA) to fly back into Toronto for my return flight. Subsequently when I checked in for my flight yesterday morning in Manchester, England, I did not have the required travel documents and had to be rerouted onto a flight into the U.S. at a cost to me of $350. The rerouted flight got me to Washington Dulles airport, where I then had to purchase a second flight to get me home to Cleveland, Ohio, at an additional/extra cost of $450. MY CAR IS PARKED AT TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!!! I am having to now rent a car and drive there tomorrow (Friday) to collect my car, at another additional cost of $100 plus a 10-hour round trip. Due to the lack of information and communication on your companies behalf, I am down close to a $1,000 and will lose 2-days in work as of the additional days I am having to travel back to Toronto to collect my vehicle. I would appreciate contact from your organization to find the avenue I need to take for compensation of my time and finances. Regards"

In the economy/coach cabin, they squeeze the seat distances to such an extent that, when the person in front of you leans their chair back, you cannot get out of your seat at an upright angle. You have to significantly bend your body. To not loose your balance, you have to grab on to the seat in front of you and that disturbs the other passenger. If they're sleeping, they can be woken up by that. Lufthansa does not care much for its passengers. Nor do many other companies, for that matter, but I think Lufthansa is taking things further than most airlines. It is a disgrace. Their brand is not what it once was."

Cons: "The flight was delayed for 2.5 hours, for a reason they never made clear after they let the passengers wait in line for 45 minutes to board. Once aboard, the Lufthansa planes were much much less comfortable than the Air Canada plane I took to Frankfurt. There is very little space and the seats are crammed together. The food they served was very bad, especially again in comparison with Air Canada. Once we arrived in Toronto, they made us wait nearly an hour before exiting the aircraft. It would seem that the Toronto airport would have to know we were coming and should have prepared accordingly, but apparently not. We sat, several passengers missed their connecting flights and were angry. I nearly missed my flight, having to run and race through customs (who are in no hurry)."

The contact number that O’Hare had was a disconnected Verizon number, which was the same number listed on their website. I had to call the international number where I was told I was rebooked on United with 2 layovers instead of one. I also lost my business class upgrade and was told there was nothing they could do about it."

Cons: "Lufthansa’s/Austrian Airlines’s idea of a ‘snack’ is a pathetic little bag of sugar and chemicals that no one should have to be offered, even if it comes for free. Hugely disappointed. Flight attendants not attentive enough, and it took forever for the flight attendant to come after I’ve pressed the call button. Overall impression: meh! First time flying Austrian, but next time I’ll probably book with their competitors if prices are similar."

So on Dec 10 at 10:00 pm they send an e-mail to let me know that the flight from Budapest to Viena is canceled. I am glad that I decided to check my e-mail before I go to bad. So I try to call Austrian, but they work just from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. I start to search all the info the site of Austrian, and find one phone number that seats be working 24 hours. So finally I got a person on the phone who was able to help me. ..."

Cons: "Kayak sent me an email at 5:16am for an 8:15 am flight titled, "Austrian Airlines flight #704 from PRG on time". It was in fact cancelled. Unfortunately we missed the connection for the flight to Newark, which we were expressly told would be held for us... they shut the door 30 seconds before we arrived, with the plane still at the gate. Had to then go to the only counter in the terminal to see if we could get on standby. Finally got on a flight to JFK instead at 5:15pm."

Cons: "Check-in to Canada not possible when passengers have third country passport and Canadian residence card. A combination, although very common, proofed to difficult for AUA personnel. Because of check-in delays lousy seats and miserable overall experience."
Pros: "Make sure your carry on luggage is less then 8 kg. Or you would have to check it at your own cost. The food is OK but the portion is very small. If you want a window or isle seat, it would’ve cost you 30 euro to reserve it. The crew is very nice. I guess because the air fare is very cheap, they need to do everything to make the extra cash."

Cons: "My father and I were seated in biz class but were unable to sleep because of a fan noise directly over our seats in Row 9. We complained to the attendant about it but she was unable to determine the cause. Many hours later, a different crew member identified the noise source and stopped it by simply flipping a switch. This disruptive noise could have easily been avoided but the ignorance of the crew member to whom we complained failed to solve it. By the time the second crew member identified the problem there was not enough time to sleep. This experience was extremely disappointing. We paid extra to fly business class so we could sleep, but this ridiculous crew error fouled our plans. We asked the crew to file a report about it and they did. Look into it. We expect a refund of the extra fare we paid, or else we will never fly Austrian Airlines again. I am an affluent person and I travel internationally 6 times per year. You would be smart not to anger me and lose my business."
Pros: "My wife And infant son we're flying out and when I got them there ticket I asked if they had any available seats with leg room and he said there was nothing available but the best he could do was aisle. When my wife n son went to board on the Stewart or stewardess told them that they are not sitting there and that they will be flying first class today. When my wife landed n told me I was extremely happy that they saw her with a baby and gave my wife n son that option to sit in first class then be tied up in economy and no so comfortable. Cons: "The flight from Budapest to Vienna was delayed so we missed our connection to Tel Aviv. The behavior of the ground staff who were supposed to assist us was outrageous. They behaved like a low cost company with one answer to any request, and this is the word "NO". It does not seem logical that we ever go with Austrian again. We do deserve a compensation for the delay and the behavior."

Cons: "The birding officer didn't inform me about the visa requirements to cross from Dusslouf to Vinna airport. This caused a big problem for me in the airport, where I: 1- Wasn't allowed to catch my flight ti Vinnea and this was both financial and time lost for me. 2- I was locked in Dussluff airport for more than 14 hours, I was threatened to be sent back to USA or any other country. This caused physiological damage for me, as I been treated like an animal 3- I was asked to pay for my new ticket ( Dussloff - Istanbul-Amman )"

I sat in the middle seat between two hours other men. It was a constant struggle arm space. After 7hours in the air I could not wait to get off the plane. If I didn't actually pay an extra €60 for the seat I may not feel bad but I feel like I might have been better off without paying for the "upgrade""

Ground staff in Marseiile great but gate crew didn't control carry on baggage and many of us could not use overhead bins because of passengers who stowed more than one and often oversized suitcases above, so we and many others had to place carry on suitcases under seat. Attendant on plane totally unhelpful and could have rearranged a few bags to make room but preferred to stay in back of plane and talk. To be fair, rest of flight was pleasant although late due in part to boarding issues."
