Flight was incredibly smooth despite warnings of rough skies by pilot at start of trip.

A movie, food

Made a lot of customers check in their bags at the gate. But the cabin space was half empty and all luggage would have fit. Doesn’t make sense.

Deer lake airport has limited or no food options after 5 on a Sunday. Food on the plane was just a packet of pretzels

I have no issue whatsoever with the 23kg allowance per bag but the process for checking your bag, especially if you were over the limit and what the consequences may be were not obvious. My wife and I had two bags, mine was 4kg under the allowance and my wife's was 2kg over. If I had known this was going to be a potential GBP45 charge we would have shuffled things about to balance the bags. It needs to be made clear to people that they can actually weigh their bags first to find this out. My bag was already tagged and gone when we went through a lot of hassle to reduce my wifes bag weight. Anyway, this is a suggestion so that future passengers do not encounter the same frustration."

This was the first flight in a long time that I’ve had leave right on time. According to “Flightly” app, this route is usually late by 45 minutes. This was boarding and pushing back right on time and then we landed a few minutes early in Lisbon. The food was disappointing, with the chicken being rubbery. The plane is 21 years old so the entertainment system needs some work. The crew, helpful and accommodating, reset the system a couple of times but my wife’s viewer remained frozen.

The meal service could have been better for a 14 hours flight especially in business class

We flew from Calgary to Toronto with the group of 6 and 1 baby. When we checked in at kiosk with staff, I already told them my cousin not flying with us anymore so our group just 5 and baby. However when I was on board, an check in staff came to me and said that they get mad on me because my cousin not fly why not let them know and the fly delay because of me. Omg that's not my fault. I already let you guys know about that. You guys should checked your system again. Why you guys can get mad on your customers. Otherwise, my family group had baby, but I also got line like everybody. However other passengers and website said baby family could early on board, my group lined at counter for boarding. But your staffs got mad on my group and said we should lined on board, so what should we do??? Nobody show how we do the right. And they told us make stuck for checking time. I felt so disappointed, mad and angry. What did your airline support for traveling family group with baby??? Why did your staffs having bad attitude to your customers? My family and I always fly with your airline all the time but this time was so bad and I was angry a lots.

We live in Vancouver and use frequently either Air canada or British Airways. We have a 1 year old baby, and on BA we automatically receive family seats for no extra charge, which have extra leg room and option for a bassinet. even with a 1 year old baby they have a special seat for that age, instead of a bassinet which fits only new born babies, so our 1 year old baby could sleep in a chair for hours on BA flight we just took from London to Tel Aviv. we got to London on a AC flight from Vancouver, where we weren't given family seats unless we paid more, so we had to spend 9.5 hours with a 1 YO baby at our lap, the baby of course was miserable, so we were miserable, but not just us, everyone in our vicinity had to suffer the baby's crying. On the BA flight the baby could sleep in a special chair for older babies, placed where usually a bassinet is placed, or sit on the floor next to our legs (because there's so much more leg room in the family seats), something the 1 YO babies need very much. I will recommend anyone with a baby to never fly with AC, especially when you have great alternatives like BA."

I bought a 1-way ticket from Punta Cana home to Canada, surprise, when I got to the lineup at the airport Sunwing charges a 20 USD airport tax separately. I was told I should have known, though it is the only airline in the terminal that charges it (separately, USD only, no cards or local currency accepted). ATMs at the airport out of service, nowhere to purchase USD on-site. Local banks do not sell you USD if you don't have an account with them... Eventually I found a taxi driver to buy the currency from. Luckily I speak Spanish and am comfortable in the country on my own. I was able to find a solution as the Nexus greeter for Sunwing offered no help. Other Sunwing team members and flight crew I met later were much more helpful when I could not complete self-check-in (flying with carry-on only) as all the seats were locked and apparently could only be assigned at the desk (despite the greeter telling me to use the self-check-in).

Due to the onboard check on system malfunction, we were getting conflicting messages about the flight status. Found it very interesting that kayak gave us updates before the Sunwing app or representatives did.

Was not allowed to board because my KAYAK purchased ticket was declined / invalidated. DO NOT USE KAYAK.

Cramped seats, no in-flight entertainment. Basic A to B transportation. Staff were fantastic. Like riding a school bus in the sky.

I missed my flight due to Covid. I reached out with every possible means and no one responded or picked up. I’m stuck in a foreign country with no money and my airline won’t even respond to know if I can have any refund

I am appalled by the staff that AM who had boundless determination to treat us as though we were not paying customers as they barricaded the POS terminals. It is appalling that because of these 6-7 people who were there bright and early (just as we were), that the airport later descended into chaos. My point is that their outrageous carelessness (on December 20th) brought greater problems to the flights that could have been avoided. Beyond myself or my mom who should be prioritized given her condition, were treated like cattle and perhaps were deliberately sent to walk around the airport aimlessly. This is a bad reflection on Sunwing."

It’s a no frills airline, professional and gets the job done well.

Nothing at all. The flight attendants couldn’t care less about the passengers. Overheard 2 complaint about being “too tired to bother or care about anything”. Complaining about working 2 jobs and was even too tired to care about returning a lost pair of glasses that they just threw away. Never flying this crappy airline again.

Really nice flight barring a one hour delay, which was already informed. Staff at abbottsford check in counter was very friendly and helpful. Her name was Robin.

Lack of staff Airplane (even with upgraded seats) was not comfortable Boarding took extremely long, no system in place Inconsistent messaging on reason for delay

I sat near a man who continually took his mask off. He was told to put it on 3 different times. He would say “ oh sorry” then remove it as soon as they walked away. By the end of the flight they had given up and they all walked by him “maskless” and didn’t say anything. He coughed and sneezed throughout the flight

All is well

Price was good. Boarding was terrible. Perhaps it was on the airport authority. No food and no entertainment, as expected. No tunnel for boarding and getting off (inconvenient)

Cons: "We ran into a hiccup at the airport and my wife left her purse in the bathroom near security. Since the gate was over 1km away we ended up arriving 5 minutes before departure time but the gates were closed and they would not let us on.Gate staff were very unhelpful, and the next day the manager at Halifax was very rude about returning our checked luggage. We will fly with WJ/AC from now on."

There is no in-flight entertainment or food on this flight but for the price it was perfect - direct flight, on time, easy check in and boarding experience

Cons: "Apparently it wasn’t that cheap of a flight after all. We had to pay for our luggage instead of a carry on. And the plane was empty not full with passengers. That to us was a ripoff. Don’t Deceive passengers to fly cheap with you when you’ll make them pay you for carry on when it’s not needed."
