My lay over was changed so that my flight was boarding on the opposite side of the airport at the same minute I was walking through the gangway getting off my first flight. I took screen shots of the times and it was alarming to say the least.

The boarding process was the slowest I have ever experienced in all the flights I’ve been on. The crew was ok, but slightly snappy/rude like typical New Yorkers. The flight from ft. Lauderdale to New York was much more pleasant."

Cons: "My issues are two part: 1 - I wasn't informed that I was required to retrieve my luggage from the carousel on this flight from George Town to Toronto. I thought perhaps I missed something, however, the three other couples that were in the same predicament I was weren't aware either. This caused a massive headache, the instructions were superbly poor on how to retrieve the luggage, and the process was completely a waste of time. We had to talk with three different people, the person that took us back to the carousel showed no urgency despite us all explaining that we were on a short layover, and might miss our next flight, and even though we had our passes to get through customs, we were made to wait in line to have our baggage inspected. A completely broken process that could've been avoided with a friendly reminder at check-in. 2 - Once I was able to retrieve my luggage I picked it up off the carousel only to find the handle on one piece of luggage had been ripped off, and the plastic lining on the other bag was destroyed. Admittedly I find this to be no surprise after seeing how mine and everyone else's luggage was handled so poorly upon being loaded into the cargo. I saw my luggage being tossed 3-5 feet into the cargo area - literally picked up, and with complete disregard flung like it was a trash bag being thrown into the dumpster. Since I didn't have time to discuss this with any staff due to my prior issue and being unable to find a representative once I landed back in Vancouver, I called the next day to discuss this over the phone, but the representative explained that I was only able to make a complaint in-person at the time of baggage retrieval. The person was absolutely useless and unwilling to help. This was by far the worst treatment I've had at any time in my life while flying any airline. The trip to George Town was with American Airlines, and even though it was longer, and a tad bit more expensive, the service I had with them was stellar by comparison to my experience with AirCanada. Going forward I will only be using AC when there are absolutely no other options."

The Toronto immigration processing was cumbersome and time consuming, took us about an hour plus to clear customs which left us just enough time to make it to the gate for our connection flight to EWR. The process could be improved to allow for us to decompress enough to allow for a more relaxed connection flight."

The staff did not know what was happening, and kept us on the plane for almost 2 hours, before letting us off and telling us there were no hotels available. Cons: "A delay of 28hrs is never positive. I haven’t been able to get my United points either since I was rerouted to SFO. When claiming them the system says that I never boarded the flight to EWR and completely ignore the YYZ - SFO flight. Mediocre overall."
Pros: "I’m handicapped and requested wheelchair assistance when I booked flight. Not once was it ready I had to ask for it at every leg of trip, going and returning. Took morning flight home to connection and when landed was told that flight was cancelled and rebooked my on another flight which was fine but didn’t have the seat available that was originally designated and the woman at customer service didn’t care. New flight delayed 3 times and I ended up being in Newark for 9 hours and got a total of $30 in vouchers, had anyone that gives these vouchers out bought anything in an airport before? And the $30 I did get I had to beg for as well. No more united for me thanks."
Pros: "787 is a nice plane. I also like getting miles since I accumulate most miles with United. Not much else to boast about."
Cons: "The outbound plane from Newark to Frankfurt was late by 1.5 hr because United could not figure out how to bring the plane (that was sitting in the middle of the airfield to the gate and then they realized that they need get catering supplies to feed the passengers and we were waiting for that too. The inbound flight from Frankfurt to Newark was late by 1.45 hours since they were fixing a computer problem on board. The flight was totally over air-conditioned and when I asked to bring an extra blanket for me the flight attendant started lecturing me that I was wearing shorts and a polo shirt (in the 86F heat at FRA and EWR it was ok!) and that she had no blankets. The second flight attendant who for some reason came 2 miins after the first one apologized for the attitude of his female colleague and immediately brought me an extra blanket."
Cons: "Broken video monitor on my seat and window seat. Ripped and dirty pockets on all the back of the seats in the row in front of me. Just a feeling of disrepair."

Should have different entertainment on different legs of the journey Not really Flight-related but Passport Control in US could do with a review .... waiting a good hour or so - come stations were empty and those that weren't the staff were changing shifts while there was still loads of people to go through - not nice when you have people meeting you."

Cons: "My connecting flight was delayed by 4 hours due tknsmong in India. I called United ahead of time to tell them I was not able to make my flight and if there was anyway I could get a new ticket. The representative was confident that 40 minutes between my flights at Delhi was enough time to make it despite me reminding her about the time it took to get off the plane, pick up my luggage, get through immigrations and travel to my terminal. She was very wrong. She insisted I call them when I land and that I go to the ticket booth. Little did she know that once I miss my flight my ticket is no longer valid and I was no longer able to enter the airport in India. Once I reached the entrance I was directed to a Untied booth all the way at the end of the terminal and was told to buy a new ticket. There was no United representative at this booth. I waited 3 hours and even called the number posted at the booth. No one picked up and no one came. I had wasted several hours. I ultimately decided to buy a ticket online spending another thousand dollars to get back home when I was told that I would be given a new ticket at the booth by United. But I had to wait another 24 hours outside the airport because I was not allowed in so early prior to my flight. Very unprofessional and unhelpful when I needed it the most."

Cons: "On checking in we had to use a machine to print our boarding passes and take our bags to a bag drop in Newark. The man proceeded to put a large tray on the conveyor belt, swing our bags in the air then smash them down into the tray. This was done to both bags as if we weren't there. Had there been something expensive in there it would have been totally destroyed. He really couldn't have cared less about our bags and their contents. We were talking to a woman on the plane who was telling us that a woman a few rows behind who had a new born baby as was told she would be given a seat with extra legroom had this taken away from her to United could sell the seat to someone paying for it. The chicken and orzo dinner was absolutely revolting. The orzo was so over cooked that it just turned to mush and the chicken really didn't taste like it had ever seen a chicken. All this combined with the issues we had on our flight out show that United are scum and just see you as ££. Sorry I cant be more complementary than that, its just the truth."

Cons: "Connecting flight was cancelled so we automatically got out on the next flight. Our stop over went from 2h to over 7h. Staff at checkin were very unhelpful. They told us to go to the website to request a refund and wouldn't offer us any flight upgrades. We got on the flight and people were told not to sit in the unoccupied enconomy plus seats unless they paid for them. Pretty poor that considering there were at least 2 rows of seats available they are so tight they can't even be bothered to compensate us in a way that won't effect their bottom line. We completed the return request only to be told that refunds are not offered on schedule changes. Again pretty shoddy customer service and shows that all they are about is your money. The breakfast we had was disgusting. The melted cheese looked like someone had vomited onto my tray. On waiting for our connecting flight there was an old lady who was dumped at a gate on a wheel chair. They person then left without telling them what was happening. We could see she was anxious about not knowing what was happening. My wife went to the United help desk to ask for information for the lady's flight and was told she should just check the information board and dismissed. Not sure how an old lady who can't walk is meant to do this (this was explained to them). If United had bothered to make some kind of effort to be at least helpful in any stage with refunding / upgrading us and being helpful to an old lady maybe this review would be different. Ultimately all they care about is your money and will deliver a shockingly bad customer service wherever they can get away with it. I WONT be flying United again. I will pay more for another airline."

Cons: "I am pregnant and took a 12-hour flight. The flight crew did not provide me with food for 11 hours of that flight. When I asked the flight attendants for food they told me they had none, and it was my fault I didn't bring anything to eat. then I saw them handing out food to business class. I understand that I did not shell out the class to fly business class, but it's not okay to not feed a pregnant woman. Additionally, when I was flying form you were not allowed t bring water onto the plane. The flight attendants only provided me one small water bottle an two small cups of water. I asked for more but they said no :( I will never fly United again"

Cons: "Let's first start off with the fact that my luggage was a few pounds over and it cost me $200. Yes read that again $200! My extra 5 pounds of luggage was $200... but if I wanted to bring a second bag up to 50lbs it would of been $100. This clearly is the stupidest thing ever. Then my flight was delayed by 45 mins. The staff were super rude... I asked if some of the food options were vegetarian and the workers like hysterically laughed in my face... well cheese omlets can be veggie or have meat. So I didn't understand why that was funny. Overall terrible experience, I will reconsider flying on United. It's not worth it."

And i don't understand what sense it makes to create an entire class of passengers stripped of their luggage. It's definitely not customer-centric approach. The wifi was dead. It is ALWAYS dead. No entertainment was provided. I'd prefer the flights from the 90s where i could watch a film on a shared screen with headphones."

No food tickets. Rude responses like this gem: pointed out how long I was waiting with no word --> told by a united employee that he's been there since 7am. I point out he's bad to be there. He says he's not. I guess a united volunteer then? Then only handed out water since 'it's a short flight'. Useless."

Cons: "That there was no one at gate to direct us to customer service being that most of us missed our flight due to equipment repair and hold up from Newark. I fly delta most of my trips. When this happens with them. They have a rep at the gate to help you. Also. There were only two people at the customer service desk for all of us. You should have had all four stations available to expedite the process of reschedualling. Everyone one agreed that united just did not care. So sad. We had a very tired infant with us. What should have been a short twenty minute flight turned into two hours."

Cons: "Boarded plane with my 8 week old baby. After getting settled had to deplane due to mechanical issues. Then I stalled feeding as he has to nurse during takeoff to relieve pressure. Airline kept slightly postponing it so wasn't comfortable nursing as I needed him to eat during takeoff. But no realistic time was ever given. Eventually they cancelled flight and they rebooked next day. Then united realized they would have to give travel vouchers / hotel if flight was cancelled so they re labeled it "delayed" to avoid putting everyone up in a hotel. 13.5 hrs of a delay overnight is not a delay and deserves better treatment! To add insult to injury, my GATE checked stroller took 45 min to come up to the top of the jetway. 45 minutes! I had to ask 4 times with a screaming 8 week old with nowhere to set him! The kind girl kept paging down to them but nobody would bring it up. It was absolutely horrible. Then today at check-in they couldn't figure out how to print the infant boarding pass which ultimately took 30-40 min of the lady trying to no avail. I arrived 1 hr 10 min early to my flight and nearly missed it due to United. The issues with printing my "infant voucher" caused me to have to run through the airport and frantically collapse stroller to make on time. With zero sleep thanks to the debacle the night before. Beyond disappointed and believe should be compensated for this experience."

Cons: "United has terrible boarding procedures... a problem most airlines have... they need to get it together to stop the mad rush to get on the plane... 5 boarding groups does absolutely nothing... On a side note many things could be improved by offering free checked baggage and charge for overhead bins.... so many delays, arguments and general aggravation caused by people struggling for overhead bin space... just have a guaranteed spot overhead for a fee.... no more aggravation period... when they started charging for checked bags but offered free carry on the problems got worse... flip it around and several problems go away... simple."
Cons: "They kept delaying this flight but not telling us. First it was delayed to 6:50; at 6:51 I asked whether it was further delayed and was told no, we were about to board. Five minutes later the screen said 7:15 (and later, 7:35); at no point was there any announcement about these further delays. They then stowed carry-on luggage below, so passengers lost access to any entertainment in their carry-on. There was no entertainment on board."
Pros: "I had no complaint when I flew from Newark to Lima.flight attendants were nice and respectful they knew what they were doing. My travel back to the States were different. Since it was an overnight flight i expected to sleep most of the time. When I was resting suddenly one of the attendants literally scream in my ear to ask if I wanted chicken or beef??? I was like" can you see I was sleeping? To me that was rude. Also they didn't coordinate to serve drinks they took more than usual to serve. No one even ask if we want more drinks or not. Hope they do better"

Cons: "I wasn't notified that my flight was cancelled until I tried to check in online a few hours before. Then I was booked on a terrible next day combination. I had to book with another carrier for $400. I missed out on time and money."
Cons: "I don't think it's fair that you don't any money back of you cancel your plane ticket. It shouldn't matter what type of ticket it was. You should at least be allowed a voucher for the amount of the ticket at a later date. Even if it's a percentage off, you should be allowed something. How is it that you can buy a car worth thousands, and be allowed to return it under the Lemon Law. When a company called can make billions of dollars doing this, it's just taking advantage of the little people."
