Keep an eye on your boarding gate and download the app. Boarding gates will change at the spur of the moment and the app makes things a lot easier and there is nice information on it.

Check if the plane you are flying out on has had the inbound prior flight delayed. Because: My flight AC157 shoed as “On Time” departure on the Air Canada and FlightAware web sites…. Yet FlightAware showed my incomming-prior plane as almost 4-hours late. I called air canada and they couldn’t do anything other than admit that seemed strange. Three hours later I got a message that my flight was in fact delayed because of the prior late departure . I had gone to thye airport early because I knew there would be a problem and got one of the pnly 4 remaining seats on the earlier flight
HubertFlew with Air CanadaYYZ-BDAMay 2025
The current plane is rather small. If you can get a seat reserved early, do so. You may be put on standby for a seat just until departure and if you travel with someone that can also mean that you won’t be sitting together and would have to ask someone to change with you.
Verified travelerFlew with Porter AirlinesYYZ-YVRMar 2025
Make sure you download the app and bring an iPad. You may want to bring a hook for your iPad as well.
Su HyunFlew with Air CanadaYYZ-YQMMar 2025
Toronto airport terminal 1 is quite boring without many places to shop. If possible get there as late as you possibly can unless you plan to just watch your phone for 1.5 - 2 hours. Also mind that even if you were assigned a specific seat at the time of check-in, it is not guaranteed that you will sit there if there happens to be an obese passenger nearby you because you will likely have to give up your aisle seat for them.
Verified travelerFlew with Air IndiaYYZ-DELDec 2024
Please don’t check your bags. If you do, please put air tags in them to know where they are. The air tags saved me when my bags didn’t show up in Delhi. I was able to track where they were all the time.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaYYZ-IADDec 2024
Get on a regional sized (smaller than Boeing 737 or Airbus A320) jet if you can, they are older and have more legroom than newer aircraft.

Be prepared for a labyrinthine experience traversing the various levels and passages of the Toronto airport. Bring quality walking shoes, as it is likely well over a km in total walking time.
JoanFlew with Porter AirlinesYYZ-SFONov 2024
Maybe get the choice above the cheapest option because you don't get a checked bag or carry on so in the end you end up paying about the same, if not more.

Plane was packed so as Seniors we took advantage of early assisted boarding. Not sure how others that were young and healthy got on earlier than us in Zone 5. Toronto security was disorganized -no bins and told to wait after 15 minutes and li e backup we got bins from the security line beside us. They lost one of my husbands shoes, and did not make an effort to find it or help us….another 15 minutes. Thankfully we were early.

Bring your own entertainment device. The system installed in the Airbus A321-200 we were flying is old, slow and ergonomically poor.

the lounge is nice. Although the crew at check in will say there are no showers, there are! Check the board for delays
NickFlew with Flair AirlinesYYZ-YYTAug 2024
It is harder and harder to find low cost carriers in the Canadian market. Air Canada and West Jet offer the highest quality, but the lowest overall value due to prove gouging. If you can sacrifice some of the benefits of in-flight meals and easy check-in availability, then airlines such as Flair can be a worthy option. Let's hope we see increased competition in Canada to moderate prices to better serve air travellers.

Poor landing as we overshot the runway and had to re land the plane. Lost both of my luggage not found as of yet. Had to pay extra money for my luggage in USD, now great my luggage is gone. Will not fly with Porter again.

This flight to St. Johns was really good. Boarding was a breeze. We left spot on time. Seats were actually pretty good. Recliner further than I expected. Three more flights to go we will see if this is the status quo for Porter.👍

I was not happy with AirfareAssist, the agency that kayak advised me would be handling my booking. I was advised by porter airlines that I had been overcharged for the Basic express , a option that I had asked airfare assist to help arrange after I realized that the basic fare I had chosen with porter did not include a carryon. At each checkin porter advised I had been overcharged for this . They advised that money would be refunded to my credit card, however, this is not likely to happen as it is not my name and credit card that appeared on the porter invoice, but that of another individual/agent. When airfare assist was arranging the basic express with porter on my behalf, they asked me to confirm that I agreed to pay $263 USD for this. I did agree, as I was advised this was needed to proceed. When I checked the invoice on the porter website and saw that it was not my name and credit card on the invoice, I was advised that this was how airfareassist processed the payment. The Porter invoice indicated a billed amount of $126USD I will not use Kayak or their designated AirfareAssist again

Our flight was delayed by a bit. I appreciated that we were kept informed on why periodically. Boarding was fine. I overheard one flight attendant sounding very rude to a passenger who was not paying attention to the safety demonstration. The snacks were minimal as it was a short flight. There was no entertainment. Overall the flight was good back to LGA.

There was a 5 hour delay. Missed connection and now an almost 21 hour lay over!

The flight was fine see earlier note for the problem

Three hours on the tarmac with almost zero communication from the cockpit. Not when offered a water in the interim. In my 67 years of flying all over the world the worst experience ever. The plane was half empty, however had to pay for seats to sit next to my girlfriend. Extra to take a carry on. I would never fly Porter again even for free.

All good the seats a little tight and no I pad screen

Everything was good except the fact you charge more for a carry on bag vs a check in bag and to top it off in US$ that was not impressive

Our flight was cancelled at the last minute for maintenance reasons and we were rebooked on a late flight when we purposefully booked our flight to be home early due to work.

Very smooth flights Toronto to Rome and return. Crews were great, food was fine but very narrow seats and limited leg room. Aisle seats on our return helped with a bit more space.

YUL AIRPORT is the worst. 1 Hr to Get out of the plane, 1 Hr To Cross the Border. 1Hr waiting to be pick up curbside. Trafic is ubeliveble.

It’s ok just the boarding point is far too far

Check in slow even though completed online check in, there was no bag drop available so had to query for 90mins as only 2 staff on desks.

Flying to a far away destination is a miracle in itself, so please take these with a grain of salt. The seats are a bit tired, and need a freshen up. The entertainment could be a bit newer, especially with all services available now. The food really is where we need help. But again, flying is a privilege, so all is good.

Not so much porter it's your site! Not good

They are a sister company with Air Transat and the two companies do not work well together. If you have any issues the two companies will blame each other and you will miss your flights. The help line does not help

Never book through a third party. Book through Air transats website. Terrible process to get help and many issues happen with them and sister companies because half the flights you book with them aren’t even through air transat.

The plane was pretty full, and we dis not have any includes meal for our 4h30 flight? And on-board entertainment wasn't available, there was no TV or plugging to charger your device on the plane. They told us to download an app if we wanted to watch movies but it never connected, that was a disappointment, the r we st was very good though and the crew were really nice!

Seats were very tight especially for first leg of trip.

I like how spacious the plane was but I did not like the fact that there was no entertainment

No dogs! Can we have no dogs in the cabin? Why was there a yappy little dog behind me? Lucky I had ear plugs. Sorry for others without

In spite of purchasing premium, I felt it was perhaps the most uncomfortable seat I have flown in. The base was either broken or poorly made and had no support. Even placing pillows and blankets on the seat (1D aisle) didn’t help. It made for a long and mostly sleepless six hour flight. Crew also were very loudly talking to each other through the night making it very hard to sleep. It was purchased for the price, so I get the risk, but was not impressed.

Good value, minor delay due to waiting for inbound plane but they gave accurate information about wait time. Able to switch to a seat by my husband thanks to a kind flight attendant

Absolutely terrible, from the customer service to boarding the plane. On the phone, there was some mishaps with getting in my correct date and they did not help me retrieve a refund or any assistance. I’m gonna be reporting to all my followers and family around the region of Los Angeles to New York.

Arrival at Comox from, London,ON 6 hours later... No bueano

Generally good. However. The flight left 30 mins behind schedule with no reason given.

Flight delayed, missed my pick-up had to Uber, plus missed dinner and medication, so sad!

Nothing to like because my inbound flight was cancelled without notification by West Jet or third party, JustFly. I couldn’t take the inbound flight due to cancellation; therefore could not take the outbound flight back.

Not the greatest experience everything was pretty mediocre. My seat was by the washroom in the aisle and was not located well as everyone past each other people were right in my seat and space.

Food can be better. Taste and option, the pasta wasn't the greatest.

The internet connection was perfect, and the updated entertainment systems that allow me to connect my Bluetooth earbuds was excellent

Flight was fine and on time. But no entertainment system and little leg room.

I swear airplane seats keep getting smaller and smaller but everything else was great. Smooth sailing and we got in early.

No food to provide, they forgot that, in some cases, people stay at the airport for hours without food. Now, to provide them with food, they have to ask them to pay, because some don't have money. That way, they can't eat.

After a long flight from Tokyo, our connecting flight home was canceled due to “maintenance” while we were on our layover in Toronto. Very frustrating to close out our honeymoon, although I’m sure others had it even worse during last week’s strike. Air Canada staff at Pearson Airport are the one thing that kept me remotely at peace during this — they were very helpful and deserve a lot of props. But I would not fly Air Canada again.

It was good to receive a card for my birthday

Horrible flight cancelled had to buy another very expensive ticket

Air Canada marooned me in Canada with no way back home during my summer vacation. I had to buy a last minute flight ticket for over $500 to make it back home. I have their credit card and have flown them for years. Never again.

Flight was cancelled last minute. Had to scramble and purchase a $2000 flight through a separate airlines. Stuck in Toronto two extra days. Missed my first two days on a new job. Had to rent a car for an additional two days. Scrambled to fins a place to live those extra two days. Spent a ton of extra money and lost a lot of money, as well as made a poor impression at work. Difficult difficult difficult

Very bead I am going to Vancouver to toronto. Not boarding receive. Before flight ✈️ time I have to take boarding. Boarding manager asking me pay $89 . Just flight ✈️ time before I pay .after provided the Boarding pass. Flair Airlines management not good. But kayak is best application.

Not good Even after I made my booking, I was charged $90 for my boarding pass. I have collected boarding pass i pay $90 near . Flair airline not good. Without pay no boarding pass.

The flight was smooth, but the seats are not comfortable. I was not able to sleep. The sizes for the personal item and carry-on are way smaller than other airlines.

Leg room was terrible and seats very narrow. Flight was also delayed.

The worst airline experience that I ever had in my life. The fare was cheap but boy do you pay for it when it comes to baggages, carry-ons, food on board and lack of available staff at check-in. Almost every other passenger on my flight had the same complaints and experience. We all bonded discussing our displeasure. My husband and I will definitely not be traveling with Flair Airlines. We'll take anyone else.

The most uncomfortable plane I ever fly on. The seats won't even recline a little. For a 5 hrs flight at night and tired it felt like torture

Seats in 1 res are dispersed all over the plane, even child was across

Personally, I will not use this fight again. The service is poor, you have to buy even water. They don't provide anything even sneak, you have to buy. They said Personally items for 7 kg. Then they use some measurements, if you have 7kg and if it's not getting inside of their measurements, you have to pay 80$ this is robbery. I will prefer other flight then this. I am désappointement taking this airplane.

It’s a shameful company. It ask as to go to counter to take the boarding pass, they simply send it by email, just to check the bags’ size in a smaller than normal template. DONT USE FLAIR! It will be more expensive than normal airlines at the end.

flight was okay, no wifi, no free drinks but worst of all they lost my son's bike for four days. Customer service was nonexistent - call a number that leaves you on perpetual hold, there's no baggage folks in the baggage claims area (in vancouver). we went up to international and nobody was at ticketing, went to domestic and they had us fill out a form. they could not tell us where the bag was. Anyway, highly recommend you drop an airtag for anything that's worth more than $500. My son's bike costs a lot more than that to replace; I was on pins and needles for four days.
