The reservation company took my money and made the reservation with NU Car. When I went to pick up the car they refused to give me the car stating that I was a Florida state resident and they did not rent to Fl state residents. Says it is in their contract and it absolutely was not!!!! The reservation company could not find it either. I did get my money back but was without a car again. Will never use NU Car again. We originally booked our pick up time for 8:00 pm, but circumstances changed so I phoned to see if the pick up time could be changed to 3:00 pm. The person I spoke to said she would have to see if there would be a mini van available at 3:00 pm and put me on hold for a short time. When she returned to the phone she said, yes , we could change the time as a mini van would be available at 3:00 pm. Nothing in the original booking prepared us for the fact that the rental office was 15 minutes from the airport and when we got there at 3:00 pm, we were informed that there was no change to our rental time and that we would have to wait until 8:00 pm to pick up our minivan. The only option we were given was an upgrade which doubled the rental amount. Since we were sitting in the middle of nowhere and had five hours to wait, we felt we had no choice and paid for the upgrade. This extra charge put the rental amount on par with firms who actually have their pick up stations at the airport. The employees that I spoke to were pleasant, but overall this was not a pleasant experience as we ended up paying double what we had budgeted for. I will not use NU Car again.Reviewed 23 Feb. 2024

Staff at desk was awesome, he was very clear with options, and very friendly. Didn’t feel like he was trying to push anything / hide anything. Van wasn’t clean upon arrival (crumbs, dirt etc) Pick up and return was easy Shuttle was fast . Pick up and drop off staff were great.Reviewed 21 Jan. 2024

They tried to do a hard sell on the insurance. They did a hard sell on the automatic tolls and lied about cash toll booths being open. They said the $15 a day was the only way to use toll roads. They gave me a beat up vehicle with several dents and damages. Despite being 2.5 miles away, I waited 45 minutes for a shuttle for pick up, and there was no shuttle available on my return flight. Also, there was no way to get a hold of anyone on the phone or computer during the weekend when I tried to confirm whether they would have a shuttle when we needed it. A couple of vans were loitering around offering rides to the airport for $25 cash.Reviewed 15 Jan. 2024

Car wasn’t ready at 1am when we went to pick up. Additional charges made the rental expensive for the poor service. The car wasn’t full of gas and that was not accurately reflected in paperwork. Took forever for shuttle to get us from the airport. The customer service was laughable.Reviewed 18 Oct. 2023

  No. Their location that is open for business the longest in a 24h period is the location that is located near the Orlando International Airport (MCO). This location is open from 6:00 a.m. until 1:00 am. The address of this location is 3719 McCoy Road and it is next to a McDonald's. This location is approximately 4 miles from the airport, about a 10min car ride. If you are flying into or out of MCO, and renting from NU, your best bet is to call an Uber or catch a taxi to go between the terminals and the rental location.

• When I book NU car rentals in Orlando, can I sign up for some sort of program that will pay my tolls while I am in Orlando?

  Yes. You can sign up for their Toll Pass Service for approximately $12/day. If you have your own transponder, it will not work in a NU rental vehicle and you will be assessed a ticket every time you go through a toll booth.
