My wife and I travelled from Ireland to Florida three weeks ago. We made our reservation through Hertz a week before we travelled, and were told multiple times by multiple people that everything was fine. Fast forward to arrival in Florida, and we were denied our reservation due to a technicality that none had mentioned in our initial booking. Instead of kindness and empathy, we were treated with a cold and indifferent 'sorry, it's the system, nothing we can do, have a nice day and good luck'. To add insult to injury, our booking was given away to another customer right there in front of us. No tact or consideration. Our metaphorical a***s were saved by another company that was able to work with us and our situation, and to *them*, we are grateful.Reviewed 20 Nov. 2023

Wipers were badly worn and streaking. Wiper fluid was empty on pickup. Garbage in back of seats and in bottom of cup holder. Bad clunk from drivers front wheel area at highway speeds. Expected more for what I paid...Reviewed 16 Nov. 2023

Thrifty was great! Our only concerns were as follows: 1) the line to pickup was very long compared to all the other rental companies 2) the rep at the counter spoke softly and didn't do a good job explaining what we were paying for Other than that, prices were good, rep was friendly, the vehicle was wonderful, and we would definitely book again.Reviewed 22 Oct. 2023

After a long wait which is understandable the counter person seemed annoyed with our questions in regard to the insurance we prepaid for and never accuratly answered our questions but she sure made her annoyance with us perfectly clear. After leaving her we went to the garage to select a car and drove it into the exit line only to find the tire low pressure light was lit and had to return the car swap our luggage and wind up in a much longer long line. The final insult is when we finally reached the gate the woman in the booth who was engaged in a personal phone call on her cell phone barely acknowledged us said not even a single word to us as she took our paperwork and opened the gate. I cannot imagine a more unprofessional or annoying transaction could be possible, what is the point of prepaying for insurance to be told it is not covered and recieve no reason why?Reviewed 9 Oct. 2023

Waited over 1.5 hours at the desk in the airport to get the car. The desk clerk was downright ignorant and rude to me. I was charged an addition $366 (US) due to unknown / hidden costs not explained on Kayak website. Then waited an addition 2.25 hours in the parking garage to get a vehicle. It was hot, late at night (2:45 am) and the garage had cockroaches. The company’s YOUNG parking garage clerk was delivering the message “there’s no cars available” when it should have been a manager. I stood in line with approximately 10-12 other groups/families that night who were also frustrated, angry, over heated and extremely tired/exhausted from travelling and waiting on Thrifty service for their vehicle. I will never rent from Thrifty car rental again and I will be weary of ever booking through Kayak again in the future. I wasn’t expecting to pay double the advertised cost.Reviewed 2 Oct. 2023
