It was a pretty terrible experience. When we arrived, we were told to wait outside. I have no idea why, the inside of the building had plenty of room for several more parties. After 30 min, we were brought inside. Meanwhile a long line of customers was accumulating outside. We had reserved a mid-size vehicle, but when we arrived we were told that they don't have mid-size vehicles and that we would be getting a compact. And then they told us that they didn't have any compact vehicles for another 2 hours. We were told that we hadn't pre-paid, which is weird because I was charged by Expedia. They tried to upsell us on a full-size vehicle another $15. For that price, I could have gotten something on-site at the airport. I declined and took and Uber to my destination instead and rented a car through Turo the next day. I had a great experience with my Turo rental. I contacted Expedia and they processed my refund. Expedia tired to call the rental agency to confirm the situation, but they couldn't get a hold of them. I assume because they were too busy disappointing more customers.

The car that was provided was sub standard at best When I booked I requested a 4WD. At the time of renting I particularly asked if the vehicle was 4WD and the company said yes. But it was not a 4WD and I had trouble driving the hilly areas of Costa Rica and Manuel Antonio. In addition, the accelerator pedal of the car got occasionally stuck. So the car was accelerating even when I wasn’t pressing the accelerator pedal. It was a big safety hazard. I would not recommend NU Car Rentals

They close at 1230 and told me that the last shuttle was coming at 1230 when I called at 1225 I was waiting at the spot from 1215 and nobody showed up airport location car rentals should not shut down unless there are no flights

The vehicle was nice; however, the pick-up was the worst experience I have ever had. The shuttle did not come and pick me up from the airport and I had to Uber to their facility to get my rental.

When we arrived, my car was not available. Instead of compact, they tried 2 give me an SUV for more money. They had my flight number so knew when it arrived. Staff was not helpful & kept telling us to contact company by email. Would not refund my money. I finally left & rented a car from Enterprise. I will NEVER use Nu again.

Scam. The guy was very agressive and rude. Threatening. We had to cancel and he put us in a bad situation. Rented from hertz for a bit more money but so much better service. Stay away from this place!

The rental process and the rental car itself were very smooth and a positive experience. The shuttle return to the airport after dropping off the car was quite stressful as it delayed us by 30-40 minutes when the return agent had told us to expect 10 minutes.
