the delay 9 hours
Friendly staff, comfortably seated and quality entertainment.
Should consider providing meals to children under 12yo first (for coach seating) so that they have choice of meal. My 10 year old daughter was the 3rd last served her meal on this flight when only 1 option was left. She was Ok with it, but likely because she was so hungry by then. I can see how such a situation could have been potentially very stressful for a family...
The crew was friendly and helpful, and when we ran into problems they were confident and professional.
The plane was an old Airbus 310 with no entertainment systems in the seat backs. Instead, it was equipped with the old-style system where everybody watches the movies on a few screens. The choice of movies was poor: the "feature film" was a nature documentary made by Disney where they gave the animals names and talked about their feelings. The food on the flight was awful. We were told there would be be a choice of chicken, beef, or vegetarian noodles. But apparently there were only 5 chicken meals placed on the plane, so the only non-veg option was the beef. This consisted of 3 small pieces of beef in a gravy, and a pile of mashed potatoes with an unfamiliar texture. It was also oozing some sort of orange fat. Not very appetizing. Due to weather, the flight was unable to land in Montreal, and had to be diverted to Plattsburgh, NY. I don't blame Air Transat for this. We sat on the tarmac for 2.5 hours in Plattsburgh, but at least we had air conditioning, and the crew served us water. (This is better than the planes that were diverted to Ottawa that day.) We were assured by the crew that, while we surely missed our connections (to Toronto in my case), the Air Transat agents were well aware of the situation, and they would rebook us and we would arrive home that night. Upon arrival in Montreal, nobody from Air Transat seemed aware of the situation. I was with ~50 other passengers trying to get to Toronto, and the agents had no idea what to do. They sent us to a gate, and told us there was a flight leaving at 9 pm. (The flight was originally scheduled for 5:45, but, again, I don't blame them for the weather.) When we got to the gate at 8:45, there were no Air Transat agents anywhere. Passengers became agitated, and we tried looking for Air Transat agents at other gates, again with no luck. Some passengers even tried calling the Air Transat call center, but they couldn't get through. There was one Air Transat employee present, but when she saw the group of 50 of us, she hid behind the door to the jetway. (She said she was off duty.) By 9:30, some agents arrived. They were just as confused as us about the flight, and did not know what was going on. In particular, they thought there should be a flight crew present, but they couldn't find any. Eventually, at 10 pm, they announced that the plane would be leaving at 12:30 am for Toronto. Restaurants were closed at this point, of course, but at least a bar was open. By 1:30 am we eventually departed, after waiting for passengers to arrive from Ottawa. I have never seen so many sleeping people on a plane before it even took off. Total transit time from when I boarded in Barcelona to landing in Toronto was 20 hours.
Plane was not overbooked. Plane left/arrived reasonably on time.
If you want to witness the ugliness of humanity, swap the plane at the last minute, announce free seating and watch the stampede. Got a dirty look from a fellow passenger as I sat on the other end of a 3-seat row she had hoped to use as her bed. You truly get what you pay for and less these days, I originally booked the flight on Air Transat after a bad experience on Rouge, hoping to avoid the Walmart experience and the Walmart customer. No difference here. Soda stained sticky seats, I won't go over what passes for food, I actually got sick from it on a previous flight. My advice, spend $50.00 more and get ready to be amazed by the difference it will buy you. Truly shameful of the airline industry considering the huge profits they are raking with the current low oil prices. Funny how they have used the price of oil to increase their fares but surprise, they don't go down when the oil price does. I won't be surprised if this review either does not get published or if it does, will be followed by a stellar shill review. You asked me, I gave you a honest answer. Cheers,
There are no leg room at all for tall people.
Excellent value for the price. Very democratic, none of the Senator class bullshit. You are honest about what the money buys and what it doesn't.
Seat was not terrifically comfortable, but I have had worse.
First leg was 1 hr late
Nothing at all
Service there carryon system
very nice flight attendents
The cabin crew, their uniforms, the pink lights, the menu for souvenirs.
Lack of communication, fees are very expensive for luggage. I flew Toronto to Iceland and Iceland to London. In Toronto the crew arrived late and had people who checked in online come and show their iD documents. People were confused and lining up for regular boarding so half way through they just started boarding. It was ridiculous.
The flight was cancelled, it was very difficult for me to do all rearrangements.
Pay for food on BA? They didn't even offer free water.
The crew were very friendly, and the flight was smooth and on time.
Boarding was a nightmare. There was not enough room for people to wait, no queuing in place nor priority boarding. We were in row 19 (so mid way through the plane) and by the time the refreshment trolley got to us a large majority of the food AND drink was sold out - seemed very strange!
Flight crew was just ok; nothing they did made me want to fly with British Airways again. Salad was good but the chicken nondescript.
The flight staffs were awesome
No USB port on the plane
No food or snacks on 5-hour flight, but you get what you pay for!
the delay 9 hours
Dirty, unsanitary plane. Bathroom unusable. Screaming toddler behind me. One of the worst plane trips I've ever been on.
Great service. Departure on time. Decent food. Ambient lighting to allow for sleeping or focused reading.
Seats could be a bit more comfortable.
Everybody in the crew were nice and honestly friendly to customers and obviously respected each other . I've been in planes before were you can see the hierarchy of the flight attendants and it make a feeling of discomfort for everybody.
I can't believe they serve sandwiches and package pretzels and cookies for an 8 hour flight! Its the menu "wanna be bistro" that might be fine on a 1-2 hours flight but not when you cross the atlantic. On 7 choices there was 2 choices available when they arrive at me.... I took several airlines from across the globe an nobody ever served me a thick tomato and cheese pizza square in plastic. I wish they would have just gave me an apple! Air transat, you should hired a dietitian to redo your menu because there is something wrong when you think the healthy thing you give to your customers are the chocolate cookies "preventia " .
We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.
We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.
Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.
If you have more questions or if you have a bad price to report to us,
please send us an email and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.
