Departed 25 min late with no explanation. Arrival time was very off due to late departure but would have appreciated a better estimate.

Cons: "Wouldn’t let us take our carry-on because they had overbooked and had no more room in overhead. Delayed our first flight and then our connecting flight left *early*. (If you know you have customers with short connections, why leave early to make their connections even shorter?) Then told us they would not pay for our hotel since it wasn’t their fault. Gave us a “discount” with a nearby hotel that was more expensive than what you could book it for online. Had to wait several hours for them to get us back the carry-on luggage that they insisted we check in the first place."

Cons: "The vents above my entire row of seats did not work, meaning there was never any air coming out even when they were fully open. This made for a long, hot, claustrophobic ride. The flight attendants seemed first disbelieving and later unconcerned that no air came out of our vents. I doubt they even reported them as broken after the flight. Delta's new boarding process is absolute chaos. More than half the plane had no seats assigned until 20 minutes before boarding, and the seats were displayed on a screen a good 25 feet away from the gate, meaning people had to constantly walk back and forth between the doorway and the screen. The gate agents were clearly overwhelmed. If this is how Delta is organized now, I won't be flying on them again."

Cons: "Impossible to figure out what to do in Toronto at Canadian Customs. You move from secure to unsecure then back to secure. It’s a mess and nobody tells you what to do or where to go. Picture process took 4 times. Nobody tells you that you have to transfer your own bags from Delta to West Jet. I even asked in a Toronto and they said no and nobody in Atlanta told me to collect my bags. So bags never made it until the next AM. The West Jet rep was very good and located the bags and they were delivered as promised. You should provide 3 page detailed instructions on how to handle Toronto. I am a seasoned traveler by the way. I’ve never seen anything worse. I could go on and on."

Delta flew into the furthest gate away, didn't communicate with the connecting flights to give it 5 more minutes and didn't have transportation waiting to bring us top our connections. After ruining across the entire length of the MSP concourse I arrived at 9:58 only to be told they already left. Worst communication I've ever seen. Delta should be ashamed."

Cons: "The boarding of the plane was by far a complete failure. I understand we are held hostage by PUJ airport but westjet needs to step up their canadian staff there. Language by westjet staff basically Spanish only and rude. We waited on a bus to drive 10 feet to our plane and the driver seemed to enjoy letting us sit in a closed bus with babies and children and elderly. One day this will cause a serious medical issue and westjet will pay dearly. Again, I am aware we cant control that but having a canadian manager there to ensure common sense is used with their customers from gate to plane is a must. Until better I will never fly westjet from there again. On the plane they ran out of food. Again major organizational issues from the companies point of view. Also made me pay twice to pick my seats on my connecting flights. This is petty and cheap. I will be demanding a discount or rebate from westjet due to all the above. If not my story will continue."

Cons: "I had safety concerns on the flight from YVR to Toronto because seated in the exit row were two individuals who were brought to the gate assisted on a cart and had to wait for assistance to get on and off the flight. They had very poor ambulation which made me nervous as these people have agreed, by sitting in the exit row, that they are able and willing to help in the case of an emergency evacuation. This was not a safe situation and was noted by several passengers."

This in turn made us miss a very important appointment in Ottawa. I’m sure the company loves that they saved money by combining those flights however you flunked the test with me. All the corporate could care less about me missing my flight after they look at the bottom line but I will be taking my $1600 plus money elsewhere in the future because of the aggravation, frustration and I don’t care attitude that your company has provided me. I’ll I want to do is get back to Vancouver in my return flight hopefully put most likely on time with my two girls and forget that your company does exists. Thanks for the headaches and goodbye.."

I was then Seated next to an individual that should have had two seats to themselves instead of most of my seat and theirs. I was literally pressed into the bulkhead by the very large person next to me. Who had another large individual next to them. WestJet used to be a great airline that Had a little more legroom. Now airlines like flair offer the same flights with more legroom wider seats and far lower costs. WestJet has lost me as a customer that used to pay a little extra if There was a WestJet flight option"
Cons: "The stewardess (Stephanie was her name I think) grabbed my arm and pushed it out of her way rather than asking me to move. While it may sound dramatic, I am certainly not accustomed to a stranger putting their hands on me and it was hugely inappropriate and ruined my flight. This was my first WestJet flight after flying countless times with Air Canada. The whole experience was soured and I will never look at WestJet the same again."
Pros: "My first trip started on a poor note; I got to airport about an hour before boarding, only to find out that my flight was rescheduled from 9:30am to about 6:15pm ( or so) on that same day without prior notice. I went up to the counter and asked for confirmation for the switch and inquire if there was an issue, which may have affected my original flight. Turned out that the change was due to weather conditions at Toronto (makes sense). I had suggested that it would have been nice to receive some sort of notification, before starting that day way too early and inconvenience of going to pickup my car from the airport parking, only to come back again. The attendant sympathized with my plight and compensated me with a lunch voucher (which was nice of him and WestJet). Matter was resolved; I came back to catch my flight and the trip was wonderful :)"

This was not indicated to me when purchasing the ticket and absolutely horrible policy of weet jet and kayak by affiliation. How can you be selling tickets and not clearly indicating whether or baggage is not included. Also when we checked in it did not indicate this fee. It wasn’t until we got to the airport were we notified. Not that it makes a difference because obviously if we checked bags original departure we would obviously need to bring them back. The whole thing seems sleazy. Otherwise the service was pretty good."

This meant our TUI connection in Gatwick to Chambery would have been wasted along with bus transfers. West jet did not offer us AC flights that were available to keep us near to our schedule. We ended up cancelling the Westjet flights and buying AC flights to Heathrow at a cost of $3300 + $300 taxi to gatwick + abandoned bus to Gatwick Westjet did offer us a flight on Sunday ! In the end, we are not sure if booking thru Kayak was part of the problem as Wesjet staff said ..... Oh you booked thru a 3rd party Comments ?"

Cons: "The flight was delayed for abiut 2 hrs and when we boarded the plabe the auxillary power supply tyat provides the plane with power when it's parked in the terminal was broken which meant the plane was freezing cold, where we were basically forced to sit for another 45 minutes due to some baggafe issue, before the plane finally turned on its engines and warmed up the cabin. This happened in Toronto during winter (-15 degrees Celsius).... Westjet service has been terrible."

Made call in evening and part of info I had given at airport as to my hotels to receive luggage when found was not communicated in the computer.Luckily I called."
Pros: "I thought the flight was a smooth and comfortable one, the pilots are amazing at what they do. In my opinion they have one of the most under-appreciated jobs on the planet. They got everyone home safe and sound, and at the end of the day that's the most important thing."
Cons: "When people travel, as a professional airline you would think that luggage and food is something that would be provided for its passengers. People very rarely travel empty handed. You would think that after spending so much money on a ticket, one small meal and 1 piece of baggage would be included. It really turned me off when I realized that I had to pay extra for this. Ask yourself one question, would you travel empty handed? Would you feel comfortable paying $10 for a meal that should cost $5? I get that it's a money grab, but c'mon your company already makes millions (possibly billions) atleast provide people the option to bring one piece of luggage and a meal. I will NOT be using westjet to fly to Trinidad anymore. The flight was good, but many other airlines provide a smooth and confortable ride as well. That being said, things like that can cause people to stop using your airline and go somewhere else. Just something to think about... Caribbean airlines provide the samething your company provides, except they give you food and allow you to bring luggage woth no hassle."

Cons: "Flying out on December 24, the airline kept us at the airport for 6 (including 2 hours on the plane) hours before cancelling the flight because they could not get water pressure to the washrooms. We were supposed to leave for London (LHR) at 8:35pm and were notified of the cancellation at approx 2am on December 25. The only other flight that would be available would be on December 25 at the same time the 24th flight was supposed to leave. The service desk was not taking any requests for finding or re-booking flights, we were supposed to call their support number at 7am on the following day. We were offered cab fare accommodation from and back to the airport. They offered hotel stay which I passed on. They provided $60 of airport food that could only be used at certain restaurants, not compatible to purchase chips or drinks (non-alcoholic) from other stores. The coupons as compared to Air Canada, which are valid for a year were only valid for 24 hours. In the end the only "monetary" compensation I got from WestJet was 250 westjet dollars that expire in 12 months."

The gentleman working the register was very pleasant and was a welcome personality so early in the day. As a service member, I would like to thank him for his service. He was consistent in asking patrons whether they’d like to purchase a travel kit for the troops. A few patrons were abrupt and responded rudely but he maintained a level head and pressed on. Great attitude and professionalism. Thank you very much for your support! Also, I was able to get my Military discount applied towards my purchase which enabled me to purchase 1 travel kits for my fellow service members. A little goes a long way and when returning from deployments or coming home for R&R, it tends to be hectic and I, myself have often forgotten toiletries which I was able to get from the USO. The USO staff were also friendly and did an amazing job handling all of the personnel that funneled in, exhausted. Great attitudes and clean facilities. The airlines are going to have to figure out how to deal with this ever-increasing problem on long-distance flights, like a closed door quiet space for the parent and child. It was like being trapped in a torture chamber. If an adult had created that much commotion and misery on a flight, they would have been forcefully subdued and probably arrested. A few minutes of a crying baby can be excused, but this was non-stop disturbance by an unruly child and complacent parent(s)."

Cons: "My boyfriend and I were flying from Toronto to Salt Lake City, we didn't pay for assigned seating (because who really wants to dish out extra money for something as silly as that?) and thought that it just meant that we still had seats on the plane and they just might not be next to each other which was fine. We did online check in and having our tickets sent to our phones (his worked fine and mine never came through, yes, we triple checked to make sure my phone number and everything was correct). Both of our tickets ended up saying the seat was GTE so when we got to the terminal (two hours early) the moment an employee was behind the counter we went up to talk to them and they said that we would get a seat on the flight and that it wouldn't be a problem at all for us to sit together. Right before they start boarding an announcement is made that the flight was overbooked (by 8 people!) and they were asking if anyone would be willing to give up their seat and receive compensation (no one would). So, all 8 of us had to go up to the same snarky man who had told us that we WOULD be getting seats and have him explain to us that the next flight isn't until tomorrow and we had to go to the Air Canada customer service desk to get the flight plan figured out. We had to wait 2 hours in line just to talk to someone who tried to make Air Canada out to be the victims (how dare we not want to pay $40 for a seat and because of our frugality poor Air Canada now has to compensate us for the inconvenience AND get us new plane tickets, we should feel so bad for them because they are now losing money). We had to wait for about 40 minutes with this lady because she was either new or not competent enough to figure out how to get us new tickets with Delta (guess why Delta? because Air Canada had already overbooked the flight out for the next day too! Looks like they'll be losing some more money). Oh yeah, she also scolded my boyfriend for having his plane ticket on his phone, because it inconvienenced her. That lady finally left and we finally got help from someone who actually knows what decent customer service is (shout out to Michelle Khan at Air Canada). She was really nice and understanding and was actually able to go through the process of getting us tickets and in a timely manner. She explained that while it is a complete joke, by law flights are allowed to overbook their flights by up to 10% of seats available on the flight. We could understand overbooking by a couple, but really, 8? Never fly with Air Canada."

It was more like the Economy Plus on United. A forward cabin with wider seats with a bit more legroom and maybe little bit more recline as a result. On one meal we were served fon china like from business, but on the breakfast, I got china and my husband got the typical plastic and foil square trays. The restroom for the cabin was foreward and was not crowded, which was nice."

That's one reason why I avoid the bulkhead seats. So, even though I was sitting next to my husband, it meant that we couldn't remove the 4-6 inches of hard chair arms between us. i could not curl up with my head or feet in his lap, the way we could in a regular economy seat. Therefore I did not sleep on the flight the way I had on the comparable trip outbound."

I wasn’t able to make my flight because my first flight from Nashville (BNA) was delayed for mechanical error (someone’s chair wasn’t able to stay in the upright position), so when I arrived to New York/Newark (EWR) the connecting flight was gone. Since it was the last flight heading to Norfolk (ORF) that night, I had to be rerouted to Richmond (RIC), which is a 90 minute drive to my home. I will admit the lady working the counter was helpful in getting me that replacement flight ticket and put me in first class. Although I think there needs to be someway of halting a connecting flight if the previous leg is delayed. Yet I can see that would probably start a chain reaction of missing times, which helps no one. I just wish it were avoidable, but thankfully I arrived safe after all the headaches. The replacement flight got delayed too, but that’s because it was arriving late and held the crew for the flight I was getting on, but that’s a story for another time…

Shortage of labor resulted in a one hour delay in take off waiting for baggage to be loaded. With a one hour layover in Denver we nearly missed our flight home - very stressful!

Finally after 40 minutes sitting on the ramp he came on and apolized for telling us the wrong information but actually what happened was someone loaded all the luggage in the aft baggage compdartment incorrectly and they had to reload the the bags and move then to the forward compartment This certainty didn't give you a safe feeling knowing there ground crew didn't know ho to load there plane correctly! Cons: "United Economy Plus bulkhead was awful. I was seated in seat 7D - there was no bulkhead for me or middle seat - just a curtain. The screens and tiny pockets were only accessible over another passenger. The seat stuck out into the aisle so I was bumped by 200 other passengers at least once - not to mention the flight crew. Finally I had my emotional support dog with me and the crew told me I should. It be in that seat - the seat was assigned by the United Accessibikity Desk as a good one for a service animal - and I had zero choice in the matter. Baggage claim at SFO took over 45 minutes to start -I was home in San Francisco in only 20 minutes after getting my bag."

Pros: "Same with the first flight leave access to the club room was amazing it was a great way to tame the Perils of travel with a long delay between flights I was able to go into the club room have Refreshments some food and sit down and relax and wait for my next flight probably the most comfortable I've been in the last 6 years of flying."

Cons: "Bad service. I was ignored when I it was time to order a drink. The attendant scolded me for using my service button. I wouldn't have used it if they hadn't entirely skipped my row. There were three of us sitting debit cards in hand to order drinks. The same attendant was very rude to a family with a small child and a man trying to put away his baggage at the start of the flight. I will avoid united in the future if possible."

According to the information I received from the attendants at the gate, maintenance knew the airplane had issues but no communication until the flight began to get delayed was given. I had an adequate layover (3+ hours) so I didn't worry until it eroded away to the point where I could not make my connection."

They didn't tell us up front what they were dealing with and there was an odd sound and for a few moments the smell of jet fuel wafted in. It was frightening, especailly since the noise persisted and there was no further information offered. When we were set to get back on the runway we were told it was a cargo door that was the issue and that all was well. I would have appreciatted being told what the nature of the problem was initially so that we could know if it was mechanical, engine related etd."
