Cons: "We were delayed leaving Quebec for the aircraft weight being to heavy and Porter had oversold the flight. Cons: "Nothing really"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we arrived at 9:00 for a 10:10 flight, and so were not allowed to try to go through customs to make the flight. When we asked if they could put us on the next flight and we'd pay the $100 plus dollars each to do so, as we realized that we were at fault for arriving late, we were told that they wouldn't do this for us because we had booked through Kayak and not through Porter directly. We were then told that we would have to pay full price for new tickets, over $800. I can't afford to pay another $800 and told them so. I realized we were late, but to be told that they could do nothing for us was horrible. They finally said they'd do it after we told them about our horrendous experience with them on our flight to New York, but then wouldn't let us take our carry on luggage on the flight and charged us a further $60 to put it in the hold. We were then told that they could only get us as far as Toronto, (AFTER we'd paid the extra money) and we'd have to find another way home from there. We live in Ottawa, that's a 6 hour drive, and neither I nor my son drive. It was an absolute nightmare getting back from Toronto, and we didn't get home until 1:00 a.m. Shame on you Kayak and Porter airlines. Our flight to New York was a nightmare (see my other email) and so was our flight home. I know you won't do anything about this and don't care about your customers, but I can assure you that I will be posting as many negative things that I can on social media, and will tell everyone I know never to fly with Porter airlines. Shame on you."
Pros: "Nothing whatsoever!"
Cons: "Received e-mail about flight being cancelled on way to airport and could not get us on another flight for 4 hours. The cancellation was incredibly last minute and caused us to be stuck waiting in the airport almost 6 hours as the flight we got rebooked on was also delayed about an hour. The incredibly rude, unsympathetic and condescending associates that we experienced did not offer any solutions or show any compassion for the situation we, and others, were being put through. I will never fly Porter again and have told everyone I meet (and in my profession, that is a lot of people) never to fly Porter airlines. I was disgusted by the whole experienced. Shame on you!"
Pros: "walker cookies"
Cons: "small plane, late"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Wasn’t warned on website about applying for ETA. Airline didn’t accommodate me in this situation and proceed to charge me $100 to change my flight."
Pros: "Service was good."
Cons: "The flight was about an hour late."
Pros: "Flight in was fine."
Cons: "I will avoid Porter from now on. There was a small storm earlier in the day in Boston which pushed back all Porter flights. The flight from Boston to Ottawa was delayed 5-6 times, at one point they were planning to re-route us to Hamilton and put us on a bus to Toronto...! Since the Porter planes are so small they are the first to get bumped. They kept us waiting for 7 hours at the airport rescheduling and delaying our flight until it was finally cancelled. They gave us a $15 meal voucher.. that's it! No offer of accomodations or any assistance whatsoever. I was rebooked for 2 days later!! This is the second time I have had this exact scenario with Porter.. so it is not a chance happening."
Cons: "b/c i booked (at the recommendation of kayak), my flight was cancelled and i was refunded by airline. My return trip was not returned to me."
Cons: "Flight was late leaving, arrived in time to make a connecting flight, and sat on the runway for 30 minutes because all gates were full. Literally pushed the connecting flight out to depart so the plane I was on could disembark. Completely rude, booked me for the next day and left me in downtown Toronto at 10 pm with no place to stay. Cost 398 dollars at the cheapest nearby hotel, very nice hotel, but wtf? Customer service wouldn't even help to tell me how to get back out of the departure area."
Pros: "Efficient, punctual, polite and reliable"
Pros: "I thought the staff - all of them, ground and cabin crew - were just extraordinary; so attentive, welcoming and really trying to make travel as easy and enjoyable as possible. For instance, my original first flight leg was delayed, which would jeopardize me making my connection in Toronto. The gentleman at the check-in desk at my departure airport immediately arranged for me to take an earlier flight into Toronto so I would not miss my connection. I didn't - or indeed couldn't - ask for anything more. Thank you to the Porter crew!"
Pros: "Efficacité. Confort. Service."
Pros: "Service of the staff"
Cons: "Delayed couple of times, the boarding didn't show on the tv so we were shocked and must run in a hrurry b4 the gate closws"
Pros: "comfort"
Cons: "On the first leg Flight 720: 1. A Black man sitting behind me was challenged (and humiliated) by a Porter agent who came on the plane before leaving the gate, that he was sitting in the wrong seat. It turns out the agent was looking at his boarding pass for the NEXT next connection flight. That delayed the take off by 10 minutes. 2. Then while taxing away from the gate for takeoff, another Black man on the same flight whose mother tongue is not English nor French, did not understand that he had to remove his earbuds for the takeoff. He said he was confused by the instructions, so the the pilot decided he was "non-compliant" and returned the plane to the gate to have him removed from the flight, bring police on the plane. I am sure he lost a lot of money and will have future difficulty flying in North America. That delayed our flight another 40 minutes, and many of us missed our connecting flights in Toronto. I just have two wonder if a white passenger would have been given the benefit of the doubt."
Pros: "Convenience to island airport in Toronto (that’s it)"
Cons: "Delayed flights to and from YTZ-EWR (due to missing crew members) Aircraft felt like it was shaking and floor vibrating the whole time (uncomfortable) Problems boarding, Porter did not check passports and allowed two passengers to board with expired passports so they had to be ejected off the aircraft once boarding was complete and took 40+ mins to find their bags Rude staff on the surround sound and when I asked for a bottle of water I would rather pay LESS and take the UP express to Pearson than EVER fly Porter again"
Pros: "I have flown on Porter numerous time but this was the first for my family. They enjoyed the Porter lounge and convenience of flying from the Toronto island right into EWR. We were able to take the NJ Train right to Penn Station (NYC) faster than any taxi."
Pros: "The free drinks."
Cons: "The lack of free wifi."
Pros: "The plane left and arrived on time. Flight attendants were friendly and professional. The flight was enjoyable."
Pros: "Complimentary water and snacks in lobby"
Cons: "Flight was delayed"
Pros: "Porter flight was fine."
Cons: "Every time we fly from YQB ( Quebec airport ) the flight is either canceled or delayed for several hours. We will try to avoid Quebec airport if possible in the future."
Pros: "Excellent cabin service"
Pros: "- Staff/crew are exceedingly pleasant, although not necessarily 100% helpful - Free beer and great snack options onboard are a nice departure (see what I did there??) from the usual in-flight experience. - When they significantly messed up my entire first day of travel, without complaint they sent me a voucher for future travel."
Cons: "- My first flight was delayed and I wasn't notified until an hour beforehand (even though the flight was delayed due to an incoming flight they knew well ahead of an hour beforehand would not be there). I could have arrived at the airport later and paid less for my parking. - I was told by a gate agent I would still make my very tight connection (spoiler alert - I did not), so I did not ask to be rebooked on a later connection immediately. - Once it became clear I would likely miss my connection due to being delayed after boarding, I asked again about it, this time of a flight attendant. I was told there were 23 daily flights a day to my connecting city (there are not) and it would be fine. We sat on the tarmac for 30 minutes after landing waiting for a gate and the last hope of making that connection was gone. - Upon arrival in Toronto it turns out my connecting flight was cancelled and everyone had to be rebooked. The very pleasant customer service rep told me not to worry! They automatically rebook everyone and I've been scheduled to leave 10 flights later - the following morning. At 12:45 p.m. their best solution was a flight at 8:30 the next morning (later canceled). When I calmly explained that was not ideal, I was immediately given the "last seat out today" on a 9:30 flight (later delayed then canceled). I'm not sure who they were saving that for, but it is unacceptable to rebook people for the next day when they have free seats. I was resigned to spending 9 hours in the terminal (literally just a room with a few snacks) because I was also on standby for every flight until then, and fortunately after checking in again 5 hours later, I was handed a ticket for the flight leaving in 15 minutes. If I had followed Porter's original plan, I have no idea when I would have made it, as I already mentioned both of those other flights were later canceled and I've already gone over how Porter rebooks passengers. - I found out after I spent $20 Canadian on a sandwich and chips via the Porter website that they are supposed to give meal vouchers in a significant delay, but I was not offered one. - On the way back, I saw myself being set up for the same rigmarole. My first flight was delayed more than a half hour, leaving me with a very tight connection. Thankfully, I arrived at the airport earlier and was able to catch an earlier flight because as it turns out, the connecting flight I would have missed due to the delay ended up being canceled. I can only imagine what the rebooking process would have been, so I am glad Porter is accommodating about switching flights. I imagine they do so to save them the rebooking later, but still, it is not something all airlines will do. - Both flights out to Montreal were incredibly hot. I tend to run cold and I was sweating. The flights home on a warmer day were fine, so I'm not sure what was going on there."
Pros: "Crew and organization"
Cons: "Smaller space but whatever"
Pros: "That is lands clise to town"
Cons: "Lateness on runway for a long time before parking at gate Not pleasant experience My first tome On top of an hour late leaving with no announcements at the terminal Luggage was wet arriving as well All together not a fun day"
Pros: "Even with the delay, the crew was polite, the ride was fine and the price worked for me. I will fly Porter again."
Cons: "Had a delay and changed gates. It was hard to keep up with what was going on."
Pros: "I LOVE the lounge in the Toronto airport. Free coffee is such a nice touch, and chairs are super comfy. Way comfier than anything you can sit on at my home airport, Logan (in Boston). Staff were super friendly (maybe because they were Canadian?)."
Cons: "I didn't like being herded from the airplane through various hallways in the Toronto airport. We were basically chaperoned by a Porter employee and made to wait in various areas before we were allowed to proceed to the lounge. That was weird and nobody ever explained why."
Cons: "Porter was very poor at managing our expectations and ultimately providing a quality service. Our flight was deleted several times before it was finally cancelled and we had to take a much much later flight. 3:50pm ended up 9:40pm, taking into consideration the need to be at the airport 2 hours before our flight because it was trans-border. He reason was also absolutely unacceptable - weather. Really? Where? It was great in Dulles Airport Washington DC and fine at Billy Bishop Airpot in Toronto. No offer of anything. No we weren't expecting something. But an offer would have been awesome. Not our first Rodeo."
Cons: "Security could be faster. Added second screener eventually but they cut I close"
Pros: "Nothing I can think of."
Cons: "Multiple failings in customer service. To address situation airline appeared to make arrangements to suit itself first, not passengers. Made to wait nearly 10 hours before replacement flight cancelled, which it obviously was going to be. Arrangements for accommodation then made, when they could have been hours earlier (as other airlines did). Only one small meal voucher supplied. Did get another the following day for breakfast after asking for one. Airline did nothing to prepare new plane to leave on new scheduled time the following day."
Pros: "A flight is a flight"
Cons: "Flirght was delayed because of weather, fine. We learn about the delay after the time for departure was passed . Initially a fifteen min delay become 30. No communications, everyone standing in line until we are called to board by a teenager . It was too icy to get on the tarmack so we got to stay in a damp corridor until they clear the way. When we got in the plane , after some wait we are told the plane need de-icing. It took one hour before they finally got it done. All this time the Porter web site was useless. It even said we departed. All the aggravation could have been avoided if Porter would be more transparent about their delay and had better ground coordination with the airport personnel"
Pros: "Real glasses on the plane that was nice"
Cons: "Well first they rebooked me due to weather from Quebec City to Toronto, but had no ability to print me a boarding pass. So I had to wait in line in Toronto for a bairisng pass only to realize she printed out a boarding pass for my ORIGINAL flight. When I asked the agent about it, she said "oh, well you better run to catch is then." WTF! First time on Porter and never again. They're supposed to be some sort of luxury experience which is laughable."
Pros: "Pretty much everything was good on the flight and afterwards, even with a delay it was a pleasant experience...."
Cons: "The only problem we're the gate agents in Newark, they disappeared for 20 minutes and no one was at the gate even after the original boarding time had come and gone. When she finally came in there was neither an apology or even an acknowledgement that I was there. 5 min after after she Arrived I had to get her to stop what she was doin to ask if si would make my other flight , all she said was " not sure" no sign of even wanting to help. She was awful"
Pros: "The experience was great overall. The aircraft are modern and the crew are congenial. There are advantages to riding in such small aircraft, as boarding and deplaning are quick and easy."
Cons: "There really is nothing to complain about."
Pros: "On time Bags received promptly"
Cons: "Baggage I checked in one bag only I did it online and was charged 31dollars US why? I live, in hk and was in Canada for flight and flight check in. Why not charged me the promised 25 dollars why us and why so high. My way to Quebec was 25 dollars Canadian ?"
Pros: "Lounge had complimentary beverages and snacks, security was a breeze, no line up. The complimentary snack and beverage (alcohol too!) was great."
Cons: "Lounge was a little run down looking. My flight home was cancelled, having just received the news as I was on the bus to the airport. So my 11:20am flight became a 6:30pm flight, no reason given. Later on in the afternoon that flight got moved to 7:30pm... At the airport, they changed the gate and then my final boarding time ended up being 8:00pm. So not impressed!! I had pre-purchased a bus ticket home which I lost the money on, Porter has not responded to my request for them to pay for that. PLUS my husband having to then drive 1.5 hours to pick me up and then drive us home another 1.5 hours at 10:30 at night. What a total mess, I had work booked the entire next day and night that I was now exhausted for."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "As I was waiting at my gate for my flight, I notice that It's almost time to board the plane & there is no plane at my gate. I walk over the the lady's at the stand and ask if I'm at the right gate and this is when I'm told that my flight had been CANCELLED and no one thought to inform me. One of the ladies goes "You should have received an email" but I know that I'm not the only who was unaware of the flight cancellation as I found out later that 3 other people had been going through the same thing. On top of the terrible communication, once I finally got booked on the next flight out, I was sat beside the most obnoxiously loud & irritating person I have ever met. He was swearing and raising his voice the whole flight and the flight attendants completely ignored it. There was a small girl in front of me with her father and he tried to confront this man and tell him to lower his voice & still, the crew payed no mind. Also, I am an 18 year old girl flying by myself for the first time... This man kept poking me in the arm and leg trying to get my attention and was trying to get all this personal information out of me. This is harassment and if I had flown with a bigger airline, this dude would have been off the plane before it even took off. I was petrified the whole flight as he kept telling people that if the plane didn't take off in 30 seconds, it was going to CRASH. I had one of the worst anxiety attacks of my life & the whole situation was ignored by the crew. I WILL NEVER FLY WITH PORTER AGAIN."
Cons: "The flight was repeatedly delayed, at the gate, on the departing runways, and on arrival waiting for a gate. The Porter employees lied in ongoing manner about the length of the delays. I was seated by the departure gate and heard them tell passengers repeatedly, "10-15 minutes", when we were eventually delayed for 2 hours. When we were had landed and were delayed waiting for a gate to disembark, and the captain came on the intercom to tell us it would be a "five minute wait" the passengers literally laughed aloud incredulously."
Pros: "Both the flights Landing Takeoffs were soo perfect, did not feel it took off and landing at the short runways were soo perfect. The crew meaning the air hostesses were soo hospitable with their great smiles on their faces to greet us, help us (especially me)being a handicapped.while serving don't know how to write how they took care, especially getting me to the wheel chair and the staff who took me in wheel chair to the next flight sevices were all 5 star and plus. I would for sure ravel with PORTOR AIRLINES if they go to the destinations I am going. Oh forgot the hospitality at the Toronto Airport was un believeable. Thanks to everyone even the owners of Portor Airlines."
Cons: "We had to pay for a different flight, unless we waited until the next day. Which was impossible for us. So that sucked."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "I arrived to the checkout desk line @ 1:20pm and there was no attendant available. The attendant from the adjacent airline attempted to help me as best she could but to no avail she was unable to reach anyone at gate. I finally was directed to the information desk @1:45pm in which case the receptionist tried his best to help me board the plane and was told the plane already left despite the fact the departure time was 2:30pm. After calling Porter Airlines I was emotional distraught and upset. Not only was it my birthday but the airline refused to assist in giving me some sort of discount or fair adjustment I also never checked in my hotel reservations losing more money. The porter associate was RUDE and refused to transfer me to his Supervisor. He told the supervisor left @3:30pm and won't be back until 8pm. After calling the airline again I was told the insurance I purchased with my flight was invalid."
Pros: "zero."
Cons: "Delays are usual with Porter. Every time I fly Porter there are delays. One on leg I made the connection, the gate was still open, the screen said "final boarding call" and at the gate the lady said "sorry we gave away your seats". The lady handling all of the Porter affairs did not have a reasonable response for giving away our seats she just said "we didn't think you would make the flight", but apparently we did make the flight. Horribly unprofessional in every way. She did compensate us with a 15.00 dollar food voucher, but I would much rather have been on the flight I actually made, instead of having my seat given away."
Pros: "It took 4 hours to figure out . They were going to send me to Toronto to catch a flight the next day. Thankfully after waiting 40 minutes on the phone Porter kept me here in Quebec and rescheduled for the next day. That is pretty much it. I understand weather was a big factor but sending me to a place I don't know anyone was not so great."
Pros: "Very friendly staff Free drinks (wine, beer, vodka coolers) in flight Easy small airport terminal at Billy Bishop Airport Very fast through immigration and customs"
Cons: "Policy that cannot standby got earlier flight - especially if later flight is already listed as delayed This is to force paying $150 fee, not customer friendly."
Pros: "Entertainment n/a hence the one star. My flight was surprisingly affordable and I felt like I was being treated well because porter serves their cold beverages in these mini glasses made of glass (not plastic cups) with 'porter' written on them. I also got a complimentary snack on this 1.5h flight vs my parents who took a different 5h flight with AC and they got no complimentary snacks. It's the little things that make a difference these days. I also loved the Billy Bishop airport. We landed around sunset so the view of the skyline was beautiful and we were right at the water."
Cons: "This website did not issue the ticket prior to the flight departed so i had to buy a second ticket at the ticket counter at the airport. Meaning i need to haggle and argue to get a refund for one of the paid tickets."
Cons: "This is a mediocre review because this was a flight that got pushed earlier due to Porter Airlines."
Pros: "finally arriving...eight hours late"
Cons: "It wasn't just the hour and a half delay from the first flight or sitting on the plane an extra hour after boarding. Nor was it the over 3 hour delay of the second flight (itself two hours after the initial connection due to the first leg being late and then the initial second leg being cancelled). Flight attendants on the first porter flight were not simply talking to passengers. They were talking down to passengers. Customer service reps in Toronto, while understandably dealing with many complaints, thought a roll of the eyes would go unnoticed. It didn't, and the entire experience was unacceptable. So you know, the dinner I flew out for to celebrate one of my best friends wedding, I completely missed. Thanks Porter and Kayak."
Pros: "Huge fan of porter now and was actually happy when the flight was delayed because that meant I got stay in the free lounge longer. Also free beer and wine? You guys know how to run a business...you just won me over as a customer :)"
Cons: "Would have like a couple choices of music/TV & whatnot."
Pros: "Seat was comfortable. And crews were very nice."
Cons: "Due to long immigration line, everybody who had to catch the connection flight was concerned about missing the connecting flight. When I called the porter airline before I made the reservation I was afvised that Toronto airport is a small airport and only 30-40 people going through immigration. But the line was long~~~ and we were in the line for about 40 min. Almost missed the flight. Enough connecting time should be allowed when scheduling or announce to passenger that plane will wait before hand."

Really different experience sitting in business! Comfortable and great service.

There wasn’t an option for not applicable under food. No food on this flight. Good coffee though.

Pros: "Everything"
Cons: "Cap. Was great"
Cons: "Terrible boarding process"
Pros: "N/A"
Cons: "due to weather a pile of flights were cancelled, we had to call West Jet and get re-routed"
Pros: "The crew were nice."
Cons: "The flight was very delayed due to weather, which is fine. However, more information would have been really nice."
Cons: "After checking in 24 hours prior and receiving my boarding passes when we got to the airport we found out our seats were changed and only one of them was confirmed if not for one empty seat on the plane we would have had to stay behind this is unacceptable That we were not informed of these changes"
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "Seats uncomfortable and no on board entertainment"
Pros: "The bathroom was extremely cramped! No TV available on long flight."
Cons: "I signed up for a wheelchair when I purchased my ticket. There was a delay getting me a wheelchair in San Jose to get to my gate. After landing in Toronto there was not a wheelchair waiting at the plane exit. There was a wheelchair inside the airport - but no one available to push it!"
Pros: "The staff at the airport in Cancun are amazing! Wonderful service from the time you enter the terminal till you are checked in and through security. The flight on WestJet was excellent."
Cons: "Getting through YYZ is horrible. Two CBSA clerks checking the customs forms at the exit of the baggage area (twelve pickup areas). Really? Get a grip CBSA."
Pros: "Comfortable seats. Nice staff."
Cons: "Poor entertainment. I usually watch movies on my iPad but there was no wifi and the available TV shows were not to my taste, the screens were small and not clear. The magazine was boring, no games to play. Flight delayed an hour for no apparent reason."
Pros: "The staff on board the westjet plane were nice but a bit short (except one blonde women flight attendant, she was lovely). The others seemed to be a bit short, likely due to heat or annoyance at punta cana airport"
Cons: "The boarding of the plane was by far a complete failure. I understand we are held hostage by PUJ airport but westjet needs to step up their canadian staff there. Language by westjet staff basically Spanish only and rude. We waited on a bus to drive 10 feet to our plane and the driver seemed to enjoy letting us sit in a closed bus with babies and children and elderly. One day this will cause a serious medical issue and westjet will pay dearly. Again, I am aware we cant control that but having a canadian manager there to ensure common sense is used with their customers from gate to plane is a must. Until better I will never fly westjet from there again. On the plane they ran out of food. Again major organizational issues from the companies point of view. Also made me pay twice to pick my seats on my connecting flights. This is petty and cheap. I will be demanding a discount or rebate from westjet due to all the above. If not my story will continue."
Cons: "I was told I had time to run to washroom before boarding, and 5 min later the boarding area was empty and I was locked out. Plane was ready to leave me because the guy at desk forgot to tell them I wasn’t there yet. Thankfully I was able to hunt someone down to let them know I was there."
Pros: "Easy to change flight same day to one flight earlier."
Cons: "Forced me to check in my (undersized) duffel bag carry on. Then forgot To load the bag onto the plane. WestJet cited a questionable and unlikely reason, that the bag was not loaded due to baggage to passenger weight ratio for safety reasons, even though flight was far from full with multiple empty rows. Plus there was a grand total of only approximately 12 pieces of baggage at the carousel. Also the plane’s auxiliary power generator was broken, which meant no a/c while on the tarmac before and after takeoff. Cabin was warm though not intolerable, however led to delays at both origin and destination airport due to having to wait for an external power supply truck. No in flight service due to supposed turbulence. Which would have been fine, except there really wasn’t much turbulence. Didn’t affect me, but my neighbor’s entertainment system was broken. However, these multiple issues and the broken power generator makes me wonder about what other maintenance issues have been overlooked or not addressed. Most of all I was offended by the clear lack of honesty about my baggage. If there really was a weight limit safety issue despite the plane being far from maximum capacity, then there are much bigger issues with the plane that makes me never want to fly WestJet again. But don’t insult your passengers by lying to cover up your carelessness. My baggage arrived on the following (my original) flight, but that which was delayed by nearly two hours. I’ve flown on United, Delta, Southwest, JetBlue, WowAir, AA, Alaskan, Virgin, American Airlines, United Airways, China Air, EVA, and Air Canada. So far, WestJet has been by far my worst experience."
Cons: "Poorly organized departure lines had plane boarding late, resulting in a long wait on apron for takeoff slot. Late arrival in Toronto meant waiting for a gate, and then customs delay due to multiple arrivals at once"
Pros: "Left on time or mighty close to it. Arrived on time. Safe and mostly smooth flight. Flight attendants and pilot was friendly. Liked the price for a direct flight."
Cons: "Tight squeeze in the seats in terms of having the back of the passenger in front of you right in your face practically."
Cons: "The flight was 5 hours 40 min late The Flight attended (her name was if not mistaken Staysy or start with S) was staying at the door as a security guard in a detention center without formal greeting “welcome on board”, no smile at all and later jumped on me regarding my bag. I was seated when her collage pulled my back bag from the compartment to make room for a bigger luggage, left it on the seat next to me and said will take care later. With frustrating tone Staysy showed up and command me to put it under the seat. I told her to put it under and not to command me with this tone... as it was not my decision the bag to be there. She did put it under but kept making comments and even did not apologize. A frustrating flights - over 5 hours late with spicy flight attendant attitude."
Pros: "The crew were very amiable and one member in particular was quite funny during the seat belt demonstration. First one I've paid attention to the entire time."
Cons: "Plane was freezing cold and seats were quite uncomfortable."
Pros: "Everything borded on time. Cabin crew was very accommodating in allowing me to move seats to an empty row."
Cons: "NA."
Pros: "The cabin crew were outstanding on WS709 today. This is my fourth trip with Westjet, and today stood above. Diane was beyond efficient and pleasant while maintaining a smile and grace, while a number of unattended children were onboard. My seat was changed, and that's fine - mostly because of the manner in which the crew at Pearson handled it. Then, I couldn't resist giving up my re-assigned (centre) seat so that two sisters could sit together. The two folk in my row were lovely, they talked more than I did, but when I joined in, it was a genuinely pleasant conversation. Three strangers, meeting per chance. The woman next to me had given her seat up for a family to sit together, so it really was a chance encounter! Diane needs to be promoted!"
Cons: "While things happen, I wonder why when I was readied a seat, it was missed that two children, sisters, were sitting in separate rows? Should they have automatically been assigned two seats together - they were unaccompanied. As happens, an 'aunt-like' woman was seated next to them, and again, Diane was an another in-charge auntie!"
Pros: "It was clean and on time"
Pros: "Despite an ontime boarding, weather (thunderstorms) and air traffic congestion left us stuck on the tarmac for over 3 hours. Kudos to the captain for keeping us informed of every development and for taking the initiative to negotiate a southern flight plan routing that allowed us eventually to depart when other flights were being cancelled due to congestion in Heathrow airspace to the north. West Jet also put together a special team in Toronto to rebook passengers with connecting flights to later flights. This meant they had a new boarding pass ready and waiting for me by the time I got to Toronto, so the disruption was minimized."
Cons: "I had counted on buying my meal on the plane, so had not purchased any beforehand. Unfortunately, we ended up delayed on the tarmac for over 3 hours and they ran out of hot meals before they reached my seat row. I had to make do with crackers, cheese and fruit as my dinner. Lesson learned: always reserve my meal (or buy one) before boarding my flight - you never know what kind of delays will occur. To be fair, the crew did offer me a free glass of wine to go with it, which was a nice touch."
Pros: "Crew was good as usual."
Cons: "Thought the flight may have been delayed due to issues with ice rain in Toronto. From what was said, it wasn't that, some other issue with the plane and a cancelled flight in the west. No email in advance, no apologies, no freebies (like even a stupid sandwich). You sit an extra 2 and a half hours in an airport with a 5 year old before a 4 hour flight, and see how much the lack of anything grates. And paying for the first bag on the flight. And the emails they did send were after we were already at the airport-in no time to do any good. I Usually like West Jet , but losing my faith in them. Wonder how flair is..."
Cons: "Yea missed the connection due to taking an obviously not sick young woman off flight from Jamaica I am a doctor"
Pros: "The plane was clean, and seating is very comfortable with enough leg room. Its one of the best domestic rides I had."
Pros: "No much.."
Cons: "To start.. due to your company combining two out going Toronto flights in Vancouver and then being late off the ground in Vancouver because if that we missed our connecting flight in Toronto to Ottawa. This in turn made us miss a very important appointment in Ottawa. I’m sure the company loves that they saved money by combining those flights however you flunked the test with me. All the corporate could care less about me missing my flight after they look at the bottom line but I will be taking my $1600 plus money elsewhere in the future because of the aggravation, frustration and I don’t care attitude that your company has provided me. I’ll I want to do is get back to Vancouver in my return flight hopefully put most likely on time with my two girls and forget that your company does exists. Thanks for the headaches and goodbye.."
Pros: "THE flight got me home"
Cons: "Th check in staff made light of what seat I was assigned stating it was the best seat. 23A a bulkhead back row seat that did not recline. I was then Seated next to an individual that should have had two seats to themselves instead of most of my seat and theirs. I was literally pressed into the bulkhead by the very large person next to me. Who had another large individual next to them. WestJet used to be a great airline that Had a little more legroom. Now airlines like flair offer the same flights with more legroom wider seats and far lower costs. WestJet has lost me as a customer that used to pay a little extra if There was a WestJet flight option"
Cons: "Even though it was the first flight of the day, WestJet still left an hour late which meant I missed my connecting flight. That meant I also had to rebook my ground transportation an additional cost. Why they couldn't manage to get the first flight of the day out on time, I don't know. This stuff happens, and I am generally a patient and understanding person. That said, WestJet not only caused inconvenience and added expense, the airline had absolutely destroyed my snowboard bag. It was damaged so badly that I had to tape it up just so I could get out of the airport without losing my stuff everywhere. The WestJet employees didn't say anything about the damage, and clearly hoped I would just go away without making a claim. To make matters worse, they only pay part of the cost to replace my luggage."
Cons: "I flew Toronto-Calgary-Palm Springs and then Las Vegas back to Toronto. Only the Calgary-Palm Springs flight (the shortest leg) had seat back entertainment including satellite TV (although it cut out half way there). West Jet should have such entertainment available on all of their longer flights (consistent with the likes of Jet Blue that has had it for years). I would also point the disaster at the West Jet recommended Airport Lounge i Toronto. I almost missed the flight because there was A. No flight information available in the lounge like everywhere else B. The TV available in the lounge was on the information channel which included the time but froze up at some point (I checked the time and though I had about an hour before the flight and had hour til boarding. When I looked up again about twently minutes later the time was exactly the same. C. The Lounge was 20 minutes from the gate and this distance was a total surprise. I provided my boarding pass and the receptioist said nothng about the distance (unlike other airport lounges that I have visited). Note that I stopped into the Chinook Lounge in Calgary to see if they had addressed all of the complaints. I asked how far away my gate was and what steps I had to go through to get there and they had no clue. It turns out that one must take a shuttle bus, go though security again and then go through US customs so bottom line is that one needs the adviised three hours and the Chinook Lounge is essentially useless for travellers connecting to a US destination in Calgary. I would suggest that perhaps your CEO or senior staff should go through the experience of using the above Lounges and believe me this would result in A. Demanding significant improvements or B. Recommending Alternative Lounges or C. Advising that these lounges not be used (and certainly not featuring them on your web site). One additional comment. I arranged to meet someone on your Toronto-Vegas flight at McCarron (last Tuesday nite). There are 26 different luggage carousels so I positioned myself in the middle and monitored the flight arrival information. Officials at McCarron Airport failed to indicate that your plane had arrived. As a result, I was delayed in making my way to meet the individual at Carousel 26 and we missed making contact. Most Toronto passengers were already leaving with their luggage so I approached one of your staff who to put it lightly was useless (not sure why she was there). She would not tell me if my party was on the flight or even when it landed or provide any solution. The McCarron Flight Info Board still did not indicate arrival of your flight even after basically all the luggage was gone. I finally got someone who worked at McCarron to contact the PA Announcer and ask my party to meet me at Carousel 26. The PA Announcement came over a few minutes later ... but said to meet at Carousel 16. Gross incompetence all the way around. Dennis Egan 519-513-1025"
Pros: "Tall dark haired flight attendant from Prince Edward Island was very accommodating is very professional. He had his jacket the whole time and it made flying on west jet seem sophisticated and like we were important enough to dress up for. Also the female flight attendant that did the announcements was great. She made the announcements in a friendly, slightly humorous way rather than sounding bored and businesslike and "let's just get through this" manner."
Cons: "Lack of ice for drinks and snacks. Also, I have noticed that on many flights now, they start with paid service and then free beverage service and often that is about 2 hours into the flight. I realize you probably do that to keep those who need booze from getting anxious or angry, etc. and to make money, but it makes me, who paid the same for my ticket, feel iike steerage class. It would be nice if those of us who aren't puchasing booze (which also includes those who want booze) could get served first, then do the paid. These are little things, but would distinguish you from others. If I knew when I flew with West Jet I could have several packs of crackers or cookies or a small cheese and cracker pack along with ice in my drink and quick soft drink service along with flight attendants that were allowed to be friendly and have a sense of humor, I would consider West Jet more often and even pay a little more. I would pay to be treated a little better than the others."
Pros: "I liked how quickly the flight was. I believe they actually made better time than what was originally estimated. I was also able to get my checked luggage as soon as I got to the carousel."
Pros: "My first trip started on a poor note; I got to airport about an hour before boarding, only to find out that my flight was rescheduled from 9:30am to about 6:15pm ( or so) on that same day without prior notice. I went up to the counter and asked for confirmation for the switch and inquire if there was an issue, which may have affected my original flight. Turned out that the change was due to weather conditions at Toronto (makes sense). I had suggested that it would have been nice to receive some sort of notification, before starting that day way too early and inconvenience of going to pickup my car from the airport parking, only to come back again. The attendant sympathized with my plight and compensated me with a lunch voucher (which was nice of him and WestJet). Matter was resolved; I came back to catch my flight and the trip was wonderful :)"
Cons: "I didn't like the fact that my flight was rescheduled without receiving any notification from Westjet."
Pros: "It was a smaller aircraft and the staff were friendly"
Cons: "was right at the back of the plane and could not hear the announcements clearly."
Pros: "One flight attendant"
Cons: "Everything. I never right reviews but I fly everywhere and this was the worst experience ever. Delayed flights and bad instructions. Really horrible customer service"
Pros: "Friendly , helpful staff . Who know what they are doing and try to accommodate you with minimum fuss ."
Cons: "Nothing comes to mind this trip"
Cons: "Sat be side large man. Took up too much space."
Pros: "No issues"
Pros: "Everything except the delays. I like the new app on your phone or tablet to watch movies and TV (and it's free now to watch movies like on AC!). I approve of this change westjet. The staff are very good at informing customers to make sure they download the app before boarding. However because people generally suck and don't listen there is always someone complaining about not having the app on board afterwards."
Cons: "Unfortunately this flight number is always delayed, WS269 Friday YHZ to YYZ. This is the flight I always pick for work schedule compatibility, but have found it to be delayed 30 min to 2 hrs the last 4 times I've taken it in the last 3 months."
Pros: "Everything was very good. The crew was pleasant and entertaining"
Cons: "I don’t want to give an excellent review because it leads to higher fares. But these people are pretty darn good we like to fly with them as much as possible. Two things can be corrected, however. Firstly the amount and size of carry on. If a bag or bundle looks really too big it really is too big. These people are so accommodating though they just let it go. Secondly, sometimes we check in early on line and we have a bag allowance. However, when printing a boarding pass at the airport if we say we are checking a bag the machine wants to charge for it. We always have to ask an attendant to clear this. Perhaps it’s time to fix this little issue. Like I said, I hate to give them an excellent rating because it makes it harder to get a good seat. The company is great and the folks working there are really great. Sorry to say."
Pros: "Got to my destination..."
Cons: "Westjet will nickel and dime you for everything. Did a +9h flight from Vancouver to London and no meal is included during the whole flight. They keep trying to upsale you for everything. Not only is the food expensive it is also real garbage. Flight was delayed by 75 minutes and nearly missed my connection. Of course no checked baggage is included in your already expensive ticket. You have to fork in another 30$ for the privilege of checking luggage. WestJet pretends to offer 200-300$ cheaper plane tickets compared to the competition, but this is false. I found plenty of other flights for same or even cheaper prices with quality airline companies like Lufthansa or Air Canada that include a meal and checked baggage and other perks, but in my case I had already booked. I really recommending you looking for other airline companies for any flight that is not short haul. WestJet's slogan is an airline company with owner that care... Whatever the hell that means. Maybe someone can explain? WestJet brags about it's outstanding customer service while at the same time cutting every corner possible on service. Kind of a contradiction."
Pros: "Staff tried to do what they could but unable to really do anything. They only repeatedly messed up boarding passes causing me to miss flights."
Cons: "The planes were not in working order. The first plane had a hole in it from hitting something the flight was completely cancelled only one out of the two people at the counter was helping a line of people, but due to a system error people were not checked in . I had to get 4 different print outs of my boarding pass. the second aircrafts air conditioner didn't work, the third plane the back door would not close. I spent over 12 hours in the airport and couldn't get home till the following day . The airline did not have a hotel reservation ready as promised and had to wait an additional 15 minutes while they were telling me I was responsible for my own room. Eventually they got me a room and gave me a voucher. I would never fly or recommend West Jet i just don't feel safe."
Pros: "I arrived early to insure that I didn't run into the same troubles as my previous flight when I missed my flight through no fault of my own. This flight was much better organized and went without any issues."
Cons: "I like the concept of boarding a plane by zone however if Westjet doesn't enforce it then the zone loading is nothing but theory. Time to put it into practice Westjet."
Pros: "Free wine and beer."
Cons: "Our flight for Toronto on Sept. 5 , # WS589 was delayed of about 1 and half hour; so, me and about 20 other passengers missed our connection in Toronto. The crew said that Pearson airport was on a shut down due to severe thunderstorms. But the weather was nice and sunny when we arrived Toronto; in fact my connecting flight ( Hainan airlines HU 7995 had left 20 min. earlier- on time- for Bejing. The crew in Westjet plane told me that all airlines were delayed in Toronto airport due to bad weather , and so that I would not miss my connecting flight."
Pros: "Flight attendants were so nice."
Cons: "There was no info about the visa requirement and that made me stressed out once I tried to check in. Seats were too small"
Cons: "We had a connecting flight through Toronto to Vancouver. First the flight was deleted from Charlotte resulting in a missed connection. In Toronto the WestJet agent directed us back to the Departure counter which required us to go back through security. There was three gate changes and the flight to Vancouver was late. Our transit to the hotel was closed resulting in an extra expense with taxi fares. Not a good experience overall."
Pros: "West Jet is just so much more professional than other airlines that you could select ! The attention to detail goes above & beyond to make each person feel welcome !"
Cons: "From check-in to the flight crew, West Jet is the best !"
Pros: "The fact that air Canada had a flight around the same time"
Cons: "Kept delaying with no clear idea of when we'd actually take off"
Pros: "I thought the flight was a smooth and comfortable one, the pilots are amazing at what they do. In my opinion they have one of the most under-appreciated jobs on the planet. They got everyone home safe and sound, and at the end of the day that's the most important thing."
Cons: "When people travel, as a professional airline you would think that luggage and food is something that would be provided for its passengers. People very rarely travel empty handed. You would think that after spending so much money on a ticket, one small meal and 1 piece of baggage would be included. It really turned me off when I realized that I had to pay extra for this. Ask yourself one question, would you travel empty handed? Would you feel comfortable paying $10 for a meal that should cost $5? I get that it's a money grab, but c'mon your company already makes millions (possibly billions) atleast provide people the option to bring one piece of luggage and a meal. I will NOT be using westjet to fly to Trinidad anymore. The flight was good, but many other airlines provide a smooth and confortable ride as well. That being said, things like that can cause people to stop using your airline and go somewhere else. Just something to think about... Caribbean airlines provide the samething your company provides, except they give you food and allow you to bring luggage woth no hassle."
Cons: "Prefer PBI We took FLL because no flight available from or to PBI"
Pros: "Crew is great!"
Cons: "Delay"
Pros: "Friendly staff"
Cons: "Flight was delayed 2 hrs"
Cons: "Air Canada changed our seating on day of travel. I had ordered tickets over a month in advance and scheduled seating for my wife and I on our 3 leg flight. Air Canada changed our seating on the 1st and 3rd leg and we were no longer sitting together."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "2 hour delay because of rain west jet and porter were on time but air canada delayed My seat was apparently broken had a window seat with no one else in my row and then I was placed ina Center seat although other options were open The attendant comes on the air and says they need to manually start the engine one by one because the electric start to make it easy was not working All and all not a pleasant experience at all"
Cons: "Unreasonable delay, not very friendly crew."
Pros: "Crew and staff were pleasant"
Cons: "Consistently the longest shortest flight in Canada"
Cons: "AC was aware of flight delay due to computer system failure which caused missed flight connections for passengers and yet there was only one customer service rep at the counter in the Toronto Pearson airport to provide directions to stranded and confused passengers when AC1621 landed at 12:30pm on March 13 from Fort Lauderdale. After waiting in line at customer service for more than an hour, I was told I was booked for 9am flight the next day. I was with 2 kids, no options were explained about an overnight stay. The rep put me on standby and said they were flights every hour and told me to wait for next flight. Again no further explanations about standby, I was going from one gate to the next for 3 hours and I wasn't called. When I asked the agent, she asked me to wait. Finally a fellow passenger told me to check with agent at the next gate. That agent found out the cs rep put my family on standby but put a Nonexisting flight #202. So I was never called. I didn't pay money to get this kind of poor service. All I wanted was the basics, get me home without confusion. What a shame Air Canada! Our national pride is on the line. It should be named Air Nada cause no cs whatsoever. Bad management is to blame. Train your staff and hire qualified people to handle tech dept. We have no control over weather but tech backup is worth investing to prevent tech system issues."
Pros: "On time flight. Friendly crew."
Cons: "No food unless you bought it, minimal service."
Pros: "Customer service rep was able to move us to an earlier flight"
Cons: "The flight we moved into got delayed after boarding. My wife watched an entire movie before takeoff. This all after having our flight cancelled the night before. I understand delays from weather but I felt air Canada’s communication was kacking"
Cons: "My baggage did not make the flight. It took 3 days to return it to me"
Pros: "Flight cancelled due to weather, the workers made it seamless."
Cons: "Had to tack on extra expenses for food while waiting for the next flight. Should have gotten some type of vouchers to cover meals at the very least during cancellations. That would be next level."
Cons: "I may be mistaken here, but apparently since I am not a permanent US resident, I needed a transit visa to fly through Canada, although this was not advertised anywhere. As such, we were not allowed to check in our flight and had to cancel our tickets a few hrs prior to boarding and book tickets on antoher flight. We would up losing good money since we were traveling as a family with kids. The silver lining is we flew Emirates which we should have chosen from the very beginning."
Pros: "The flight was not booked full so it was a very comfortable trip."
Cons: "Food was inedible. Not properly cooked and very poor quality for such an expensive flight."
Pros: "The flight was good, on time, and comfortable. Crew was polite and informative."
Cons: "The sound did not work on my screen, even after trying 3 different sets of headphones."
Pros: "Not a lot"
Cons: "Poor aircraft, uncomfortable seats, not recommended."
Pros: "Staff was extremely pleasant."
Cons: "Being charged for seat selection when I could not even select a seat. My seat didn't even have an outlet with USB jack next to the monitor like other seats. I had to use the old worn-out headset input jack on the armrest. Flights were delayed both directions."
Pros: "Flights were on time and very comfortable"
Cons: "There was absolutely nothing that I found to complain about"
Cons: "There was no wifi available on the flight from Montreal to Vancouver."
Cons: "Constant gate changes. Getting a seat number assigned was tedious"
Pros: "The snack selection is excellent"
Cons: "No complaints"
Pros: "Boarding was smooth, considering there were just over two hundred passengers to manage. The crew was excellent: responsive, courteous and proactive. Entertainment: Overall plenty of options though some were dated. Food: surprisingly good, and COMPLIMENTARY. Didn't have to pay extra."
Cons: "Coach is CRAMPED. And on a 14-hour flight, that's important.."
Cons: "Same as above. Flight delayed by 45 minutes. No explanation given as to why... no inclement weather or other issues that day."
Pros: "Flight attendants friendly and helpful."
Cons: "Seats very uncomfortable - no legroom. Flight comong home delayed several hours because of maintenance problem."
Pros: "Food good Choice of movies pretty good"
Cons: "Suitcase damaged No one in Detroit to process claim Amount of wine offered was somewhat meager for such a long flight"
Pros: "The free drinks with the meal and having two seats at the window."
Cons: "Walking threw business class to my coach seat."
Cons: "The flight was delayed about an hour and a half, only after some time at the gate they explained it on the mic.I had a connection flight, and before landing they mentioned there will be agents helping those with upcoming connections to catch them up due to the delay, but those people just pointed me in the general direction of the gates. I had to ran all over the airport, confused after the terrible long flight, and since it was my first time there. I made it at the last second, they changed my seat without my permission and didn't have enough room for my bag so I had to check it. The general attitude of the crew was reluctant at best. The food was mediocre, like what you would have gotten in a flight 10 years ago, and they gave beef to people who asked for chicken. I wanted to be more cool about it, but it was a terrible flight in every Aspect, and I never even got an apology or a follow up."
Cons: "Delayed flight"
Pros: "The blankets and pillow provided to every single customer. The food was actually pretty good except for the breakfast meal could have been a little better."
Cons: "Pretty much just the breakfast meal and the buttons on the armrest, the person to our right kept accidentally turning on my light and changing my volume with her elbow."
Cons: "Flight was late. The status screens in the Toronto airport depicted incorrect information."
Pros: "Food was not included in a 5 1/2 hour flight. Which it should be."
Pros: "The crew was nice and understanding"
Cons: "I was stuck up against the back galley with no armrest on the aisle but that was only the beginning when the guy in front reclined his seat the seat back it was dangerously close to my head. In the event of turbulence it would have been easy to sustain a massive blow to the head from the seat in front of me during a whiplash type motion. The person that approved this seating arrangement should be terminated."
Pros: "Crew was very nice"
Cons: "n/a"
Cons: "We were late getting into Chicago and I missed my connection to Albuquerque. I was scheduled to arrive at my destination at noon and because we were late, I didn't get home until almost midnight."
Pros: "Entertainment on this flight was comparatively better than the flight we took from LAX to Toronto...Snacks was also better on this flight than the LAX to Toronto flight which really confuses me as to why?"
Cons: "The wait time though for our flight was 6 hours and there were 2 or 3 other earlier flights to LAX that day.."
Pros: "The crew was amazing"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "None I like"
Cons: "Crew - no one onboard seemed happy, didn't see anyone smile at all, not a happy place. Food - tasteless, for the only meal they offered transatlantic flight was total thumbs down."
Pros: "The flight attended during the flight were really nice"
Cons: "At the reception and flight registration the service was terrible not organized the service was poor people pushed each other with out organization. The lady pushed customers from one line to anothe"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Absolute joke of an airline with zero customer service. I would never travel with them again and would recommend anyone else not too."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "They lost my luggage!!!"
Cons: "Certain Crew Members were a bit rude and abrasive"
Pros: "Flight was on time and everything went well"
Pros: "The 2-3-2 seat configuration is better for travelling as a duo. We were provided with blankets and pillows for the 9 HR flight. Food was quite tasty for airline meals."
Cons: "Host staff made very few trips up and down the aisles. Have not before been on an Air Canada flight where there are no seat back screens, so it was a surprise not to have any in flight entertainment."
Pros: "Nothing to expect more"
Cons: "The amount of snacks served should be increased"
Pros: "We had a pretty uneventful flight from Tampa to Toronto using Air Canada. That is a good thing. The airline offers complementary juices and drinks of the nonalcoholic variety. No complaints."
Cons: "The flight was smooth and the crew was excellent. They ran out of food so there was very little to choose from to eat."
Cons: "I arrived at the airport and attempted to check in at 11:17, 58 minutes before my flight was schedule to depart, having just rushed to the airport from my father's bedside in the hospital. I purchased a ticket on this flight because I absolutely needed to be back in New York City by 2:30 pm today - otherwise, I wouldn't have left. When I attempted to use the kiosk to check in, my booking reference number couldn't be found, despite repeated attempts. When I approached a customer service agent to check in manually, I was simply told that I could not - I was not offered any reason other than that I was "too late" and not offered any alternative. I asked to speak with a supervisor who attempted to clear me for check in seeing as I had no bags to check and have a Global Entry card, but was told by the agent that I spoke with that the flight was over booked and so there were now no longer any seats available. I asked to speak with the supervisor in person, and was told she was on her way, but 15 minutes later she was nowhere to be seen and time was ticking. While the first agent was completely unhelpful, and never offered to rebook me on another flight, another agent helped me by giving me a boarding pass for the next flight and told me she was putting me on standby for the flight I originally purchased the ticket for. I got to the gate in plenty of time to board my original flight, but was told that I wasn't on the standby list and there were simply no seats left on the flight - even though I purchased one which should have been held for me until 10 minutes before departure as is the policy for every other airline as far as I am aware. I am beyond frustrated that due to Air Canada's overbooking the airline used the excuse that I arrived 58 minutes before my flight to give the ticket I purchased away to someone else, with no consideration for me as a customer. The extremely poor customer service I received only added insult to injury. I am completely stumped as to how Air Canada could possibly be the only airline in North America with a 4 star rating when I have consistently experienced overbooking, flight cancellations, and abysmal customer service, including 30 minute wait times to speak to an agent, an inability to check in online for international travel, topped off by poor in flight service, when traveling Air Canada. I have never before complained but am doing so in this case because today's experience truly put me over the top when the airline's blatant disregard for my circumstances and needs as a customer and overbooking practices went beyond causing annoyance and inconvenience. I am therefore requesting a full refund of the ticket I purchased only to be bumped off the flight I paid for."
Pros: "I liked the choice of movies."
Cons: "One of the flight attendants, Pasquale, was very brusque."
Cons: "gate was changed without an announcement flight was twice delayed"
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Cons: "Seat wasn't reclining and was very uncomfortable"
Pros: "Crew amazing"
Cons: "Nothing. Always accommodating."
Cons: "Air Transat was awsome"
Pros: "Comfortable seats"
Cons: "Limited movie selection"
Pros: "Crew very kind, entertaining good"
Cons: "Boarding process"
Pros: "getting off flight they didn't tell me at gate checkin that I needed a specific tag to receive my double stroller at the gate upon arrival to yyz. so I arrived with my twins and all our stuff to have to carry one of them and deal with all kinds of trouble until we wereat luggage pickup. HORRIBLE"
Cons: "when gate checking strollers be more clear - I was travelling alone with twin 4 year olds ... to have to carry all the carry on luggage and deal with kids who are tired having the stroller after the flight at the gate would have been extra helpful which w=is what I had intended"
Pros: "Crew was good"
Cons: "Boarding was awful. One queue in a very small area for all passengers. Agent tried to charge us 150 GBP for 3 carry on bags which we had previously carried on for 2 other flights. Felt like extension until I pushed back."
Pros: "The crew was very good."
Cons: "Food was terrible. The seat was hard and uncomfortable."
Pros: "IFE, aircraft"
Cons: "Comfort, food options"
Cons: "Exit seat wasnt a full exit seat just a slightly larger row and did not recline. Seats were smaller than usual too."
Cons: "We boarded late and arrived late."
Pros: "There was an empty seat next to mine so could stretch my legs..."
Cons: "Late departure, late arrival... Had to use a ptv which took forever. Had to run for connection flight."
Pros: "Boarding was almost on time. Crew was good."
Cons: "Why did I pay additional $200 dollars to check 1 bag? $70 Canadian there, $50 pounds back (converted to $100 on my bank app.) Ridiculous won't be flying this airline again. Food was terrible - didn't eat. The crew didn't turn off the plane lights to MCR overnight flight, didn't sleep even 1 minute."
Pros: "The crew service was polite and efficient. As I have long legs, the distance between seats means I can't move around much."
Cons: "Travelling in economy class means the food is okay but not great. It used to be better a few years ago before the intense competition between airlines for passengers."
Pros: "Boarding went smoothly. It was nice that the crew was overheard offering the emergency seating to passengers with very long legs. And to be honest, our flight into Orlando was fantastic. It was just our flight back to Toronto that we had problems with."
Cons: "Plane smelled. Seats were way too close together. No leg room at all. Also, I know it wasn't air transat 's fault but there was a toddler behind me kicking my seat for three hours. I am also irritated that we had to bring both our passports and our nexus passes because air transat won't take nexus."
Pros: "The crew was professional and did a great job making sure everyone was informed and well looked after."
Cons: "absolutely no leg room for an average sized man. and forget about it when the person in front of you puts their seat back. ugh, and the food.....not good and expensive."
Pros: "Very comfortable plane. All on time . Good experience."
Cons: "Flight on time"
Pros: "It’s hard to write a review when flight was supposed to leave at 6:30 and didn’t until midnight, but due to weather. It was frustrating for all but staff and pilot kept us informed at all times so that was appreciated. There wasn’t much to do but to wait out the weather."
Cons: "For the weather to be better and to have left on time - but obviously that is out of everyone’s control."
Pros: "direct flight"
Cons: "like being in a flying school bus only the seats are less comfortable"
Pros: "Price"
Cons: "It took almost an hour from landing for our luggage to make it to the belt. For a domestic flight, this is really poor."
Pros: "Flight was quiet and uneventful. Kudos to the pilots."
Cons: "Our flight from YEG to YYZ was delayed by over an hour. Normally this wouldn't bother us, as we did not have a chance to get flight, however, we felt we were deceived and lied to by Air Transat at the gate. Specifically, the staff at the gate indicated that our flight would be delayed "intentionally" according to airline policy, to take advantage of favourable tailwinds to get the flight to YYZ on time. This explanation maked no sense, and was unfounded from a cursory Google search. When we finally boarded an hour later, the captain on the flight indicated that the plane was actually LATE arriving to YEG from a previous flight. I'm not expecting any specific reimbursement for the inconveniences to us or our family picking us up, but we and other customers should NEVER be decieved. If the flight is late, tell us, and indicate whether connecting flights (for those that have them) will be withheld or not or to make appropriate arrangements if otherwise not possible."
Cons: "flight was delayed in both directions; very few announcements; the crew were ok, but there was not much service in the hour we waited foe the plane to take off and during the flight"
Pros: "The crew were very friendly, sweet and accommodating. I had a seat by the exit which I luckily didn't have to pay extra for and the leg room was ample and really helpful on a long flight. The meal was pretty good, but I really wished airlines would stop wasting so much plastic - I think there should be a way we can support the environment better when flying."
Cons: "I didn't realize Air Transat was a bare-bones airline (not that my flight was cheap in cost) - we didn't have pillows or blankets for the flight (10 hours) and had to pay for them! Seems like that should be standard on a long haul flight. The seats are very narrow with poor back support, and my back started to hurt 5 hours in. Many people were standing in the aisles as it was so uncomfortable. I was very cold throughout the flight, which was another uncomfortable aspect. One of the bathrooms was out of order which resulted in everyone using the same one - you can imagine how smelly and messy it got."
Pros: "The staff were very helpful and the flights were comfortable."
Cons: "The food was catastrophic, just mush."
Pros: "On time,I could charge my mobile"
Cons: "The curser of the smart screen was hard to use"
Pros: "Worse experience, air hostess don’t wear gloves while serving food and beverages. They usually had there fingers in everything. When told air hostess was rude and never responded"
Cons: "Worse experience, air hostess don’t wear gloves while serving food and beverages. They usually had there fingers in everything. When told air hostess was rude and never responded"
Cons: "The flight was delayed by almost 2 hours and there was no notification about it so that I could've planned my journey better. Even though the flight was delayed - the airport boards also showed the flight to be on time. Due to that I showed up on time of the original flight time and had to wait a long time at the airport."
Pros: "Professionalism of crew."
Cons: "Seating is awful. Risk deep vein thrombosis. There was no foods available to purchase, only drinks for a 3 1/2 hour flight. Entertainment is one movie on mounted screens, or the Air Transat app which is not worth the trouble, trust me. Better use your Netflix app to download something to watch."
Pros: "on time, good food and friendly flight attendants, everything you could ask for whilst traveling."
Pros: "i think the price was reasonable and it was a reliable and on time .We didn't had to pay extra for our meals and suite case."
Cons: "the seat was too close not enough leg room ."
Pros: "Much more comfortable than our outbound flight, better seats and more space. Movies were available this time versus the outbound flight that did not have an entertainment system. Main meal was nice. We flew "Option Plus". Flight landed on time."
Cons: "Main meal was quite nice but pre-landing snack was awful; pastry with a thin coating of tomato paste and veg."
Pros: "Helpful and friendly attendants."
Cons: "Cabin was too cold."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "They ran out of food on both trips"
Cons: "Sitting in Toronto for three hours past scheduled boarding, minimal information. Missed my train out of Gatwick and only two pieces of luddage out of three."
Cons: "Last week lost my luggage on a direct flight. Flight to Toronto would not let me print my boarding pass after I had checked in online and had no checked baggage to be delivered. Missed my flight due to this as the company was debating to print my pass"
Pros: "Entertainment"
Cons: "Our flight from Barcelona was late and we had to rush across the airport to get the connection to Toronto. By the time we landed it was almost time for the Toronto flight to depart. No information was given to the passengers when we landed informing them that the Toronto flight was waiting for us. No information was given by the ground staff either, just told to drop your checked bag off and get to the gate and hope the flight was still there. Would have been a lot less stressful if someone had said "don't worry, the Toronto flight is waiting for you""
Pros: "Good variety of food and snacks-and free! Long flight with good leg room. Only issue was strike that was taking place that prevented us from disembarking immediately."
Pros: "We paid extra for the options plus on this flight, which meant that we were able to choose our seats, we were given snacks, bottles of wine with our meal, blankets, pillows, face masks and headphones. Everyone else had to pay for these items on flight (if they wanted them). As a result we felt like royalty."
Cons: "Unfortunately you can never escape the family with the screaming baby..."
Pros: "Very helpful to families with small kids. On our flight to Europe which wasn't too busy, they even left middle seats free so my kids could sleep whole night. Smooth landing. No significant delays. Good price for family vacation to Europe that includes checked bag, and meals during flight. They nickel and dime on other stuff but if you prepare yourself (bring extra clothes or a blanket, own headphones) you'd be fine. Considering how much I saved by driving to Toronto to take their flight instead of flying from Cleveland (US$3500 for the family of 4) I am super happy with what I got for my money."
Cons: "Limited entertainment selection. No mileage program Bathrooms could be bit cleaner, but still ok"
Pros: "* Smooth flight. * On time DEP and ARR."
Cons: "* Not able to check in on line due to Kayak was provider. * Too much time spent on pushing the duty free goods. * Felt like the trolley came down more times than food or drink. * Long line to check in. * Wasn't able to use entertainment App even though I had pre-loaded the App. It asked for my confirmation number but I didn't have one because of the Kayak booking. With other airline, flight attendant was able to over ride. This time flight attendant said she couldn't do it. I felt she really didn't care."
Pros: "They gave us water when we had to wait an hour before take off. It was not their fault we were delayed. They did wait for the 30 of us who were delayed from Lyon and did not take off without us."
Cons: "They did not answer my call (s) for water to take a pill. They never offered anyone earphones. There were no services at all on this flight as the seat belt sign was on the whole time."
Pros: "extra leg room extra luggage allowed priority boarding because I had option plus on the international leg of the journey"
Cons: "No individual TV screen. No option plus offered No movies staff a little irritable when I asked to buy food as they were all attending to club class. staff much more pleasant on the international leg of the journey"
Pros: "The crew was very efficient, the food was very good, crew walked and gave water after meals and throughout the flight thereafter. Cleaning was efficient too."
Cons: "Smelly washroom and a very dirty toilet bowel in the beginning of the flight. It was cleaned and looked better but still had a smell of urine. Boarding was very disorganized. People rushed in to board causing lines to board."
Pros: "I upgraded. What a difference!! First time travelling by Air Transat but hopefully not my last!! Great experience from start to finish."
Cons: "No complaints. Everything was great! Wish we could give more than 5 stars to some of the categories. The crew were amazing!!"
Pros: "Comfortable seating, good entertainment selection available and drink provided on short flight."
Cons: "Delay and disorganization at airport left passengers frustrated with at least 3 changes to gate prior to departure. Added to this was the incorrect announcement on P.A. System at 6:55pm a change of gate to leave at original time (7pm), only to have a stampede of passengers arrive at newly assigned gate to have no airline representative there and soon a new/revised departure time of 21:05 instead. Hopefully, those clients with international connections were able to make it, but I suspect that several had their plans changed with this > 2 hour delay."
Pros: "Great crew, very attentive. Food much better than expected on any airline these days."
Cons: "Boarding in Venice was a disaster. NO FAULT of Air Transat's! This was complete incompetence in Venice with shuttle busses. The on board entertainment on this particular type of Airbus is antiquated. Also NONE of tour Android devices could make the downloadable entertainment app work. It always crashed on starting a movie or show."
Pros: "20min early and excellent crew"
Cons: "Wifi entertainment went offline 30mins and and never restored. So no movies"
Pros: "Absolutely terrible experience"
