Air Canada could learn from Southeast Asia Airlines. Most flights in SE Asia boards handicap and business ÷ priority class first then the next group are at the back of the plane moving forward from there. We seem to board group from the front going to the back of the plane causing congestion and longer loading times.

FAQs - booking Ontario flights

  • Which airport should I fly into to visit Parliament Hill?

Parliament Hill is the centre of politics for the nation and is located on the banks of the Ottawa River. All three Toronto metropolitan airports are well over 400 km away from Ottawa, so it makes sense for your flight from Alberta to include an additional local flight from one of Toronto’s airports into Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW).

  • I wish to travel to the Greater Sudbury area. Which airport is most convenient?

Greater Sudbury is a major city in Northeastern Ontario, located between Sault Ste. Marie to the west and North Bay to the east. Of the three major airports to the south of Greater Sudbury, Toronto Pearson International Airport is the most convenient as you can get cheaper flights from Toronto Pearson via Air Canada Express, flying into Greater Sudbury Airport (YSB).

  • Which airport is closest to the James Bay Region?

James Bay is a large body of water that separates the provinces of Ontario, to its west, and Quebec, to its east. The largest town in Ontario near James Bay is Moosonee, which is over 800 km from Toronto. If you fly from Toronto Pearson International Airport you will be able to get cheaper flights into Moosonee Airport (YMO), compared to Toronto Hamilton Airport.

  • Should I use one of Toronto’s airports to travel to Windsor?

It makes sense to fly from a Toronto-based airport into Windsor. Although London International Airport (YXU) is geographically closer to Windsor, it doesn’t have any direct flights into the city. You would have to catch a connecting flight at Toronto Pearson International Airport, so it makes more sense to book a flight directly from Pearson to Windsor Airport (YQG).

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Canada to Ontario?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Canada to Ontario.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Canada to Ontario?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight from Canada to Ontario is likely to change within 7 days, so travellers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Canada to Ontario?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly from Canada to Ontario with an airline and back with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Canada to Ontario?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying from Canada to Ontario up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

  • What is the cheapest day to fly to Ontario?

Based on KAYAK data, the cheapest day to fly to Ontario is Friday when round-trip tickets can be as cheap as C$ 490. On the other hand, the most expensive day to fly is Sunday, when round-trip prices are C$ 630 on average.

  • If you are considering a flight to Ontario, you should note that there are no flights landing in Ottawa, the nation’s capital city. If you wish to visit the city of Ottawa, then you’ll have to fly into either Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Toronto Hamilton Airport (YHM) or London Airport (YXU), all of which are located in the southern part of the province and within easy reach of Ottawa.
  • Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG), otherwise known as Winnipeg Airport, is used as a major travel hub for the discount air carriers Flair and Swoop. Both of these airlines operate multiple flights to Ontario, destined for Toronto Pearson International Airport and Toronto Hamilton Airport.
  • Montreal-Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport (YUL), commonly known as Montreal-Trudeau Airport, is the major hub for Air Transat, Canada’s third largest airline. If flying into Ontario, Montreal-Trudeau Airport operates flights into Toronto Pearson International Airport.
  • Thunder Bay International Airport (YQT) is the only of the major Ontario airports not found in the southern part of the province. Located on the northwestern coast of Lake Superior, Thunder Bay Airport is the main point of access into the western part of the province, from Kenora to Lake Severn in the northeast.
  • If you desire to explore the Canadian side of Lake Superior and Lake Nipigon, then you should book a flight into Thunder Bay Airport. Porter Airlines is the only regional airline that operates flights into Thunder Bay, and these flights depart from the Toronto Island Airport.

We were very offended Reserva check in agent in Calgary. Erroneously profiled and reprimanded for using Reserve line . Hadn't even looked at tickets. We were in fact Reserve passengers

Even tho the flight was a bit delayed the team was apologetic. Everyone was friendly and efficient.

On my e-boarding pass it shows free wifi, yet the plane I was on didn’t have wifi. Please remove false advertising from your website and boarding passes

Smaller plane. Food and bar service for free is amazing. Drinks were in glass not plastic cups.

I was not happy with AirfareAssist, the agency that kayak advised me would be handling my booking. I was advised by porter airlines that I had been overcharged for the Basic express , a option that I had asked airfare assist to help arrange after I realized that the basic fare I had chosen with porter did not include a carryon. At each checkin porter advised I had been overcharged for this . They advised that money would be refunded to my credit card, however, this is not likely to happen as it is not my name and credit card that appeared on the porter invoice, but that of another individual/agent. When airfare assist was arranging the basic express with porter on my behalf, they asked me to confirm that I agreed to pay $263 USD for this. I did agree, as I was advised this was needed to proceed. When I checked the invoice on the porter website and saw that it was not my name and credit card on the invoice, I was advised that this was how airfareassist processed the payment. The Porter invoice indicated a billed amount of $126USD I will not use Kayak or their designated AirfareAssist again

Everything was good except the fact you charge more for a carry on bag vs a check in bag and to top it off in US$ that was not impressive

Our flight was cancelled at the last minute for maintenance reasons and we were rebooked on a late flight when we purposefully booked our flight to be home early due to work.

Seemed like an old plane. Very noisy. The seat cushions were so old that the metal bracing of the seats were poking through. There was plenty of leg room though.

The whole experience from check in to deboarding was fantastic.

I love the 2 seats per row. More room. The crew were excellent.

My screen was broken so now movies, etc, but I didn’t really mind. They did work on it, so good effort on their part.

i was not able to take my flight because the information i needed to book my dog correctly was not provided

They never sent me a confirmation to say my flight time had changed so I cut my holiday short by 6 hours Had to pay over 50 American for my luggage to be checked on the way home and that’s more that it cost on the way there. Arbitrarily charging more for the same thing when the passenger has no options is shady The cabin was an icebox going there and back, if all the passengers have their gloves on and their hoods up that should be an obvious sign to turn up the heat

The Turkish was good . I had a problem with air Transat terrible experience for me

Porter airlines was good. I didn't have the best experience when booking through airfare assist however, as I got no final confirmation from them that the flight was booked until I called them. Even then, the confirmation code they gave me was incorrect and couldn't be used for check in. On a positive note airfare assist was actually picked up the phone relatively quickly when calling

The flight crew were very good, polite, and professional. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience left much to be desired. The food was extremely bland—almost tasteless. We chose the non vegetarian .The lasagna was just plain pasta with a tiny garnish and no seasoning. It felt like eating starch only, The bigger issue was with luggage and space. We boarded with three tickets, and while the seats in front of us were nearly empty, all the overhead compartments had already been filled by passengers boarding to the back. This left us and many others with no overhead storage for our carry-ons. Our bags couldn’t fit well under the seats either, which meant we lost the little legroom we had. The result was a horrible, cramped experience—sore knees, no space to stretch, and no way to rest or sleep comfortably. According to the crew this was a rather normal thing. It is obviously normal that people board with handbag and carry on but they should be only allowed to use their overhead compartment and under their seat not the way it is managed that all the spaces in the front of the plane being occupied by the people sitting way back in the plane.

This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had. Basically, I lost my round-trip tickets because one of my last names was missing, and you didn’t allow me to correct it. I had to purchase a full ticket again. Once I get home, I will start legal proceedings against you.

Not so much porter it's your site! Not good

The connecting flight lay over was 4.00 hours, the gate agent booked me on the next flight which was about to depart at no extra cost.

I think as another discount flyer they stepped up the bar. I think they should stay around for awhile

I didn’t have any food but my Prosecco hit the spot. We left on time and the crew was friendly.

I wasn’t able to book or pay for a seat and they forgot to check me in for my third flight so I spent 24 hours in Toronto waiting for another one.

I like the wider seats, Plus lots of legroom, Lacking entertainment, no tv or screen to play with

The keg from Edmonton to Toronto My wife found it very cold. Other than that great flight.

Flight itself good .Landing at terminal3 and connections to terminal1,it is connections nightmare, specially for disable person

The seats very Uncomfortable, no meal and no entertainment for a 4Hours flight. Smooth Flight, Great Take off and landing. Superb crew!

It was good, flight was on time, boarding was smooth and done in zones, food was good too but there was no form of entertainment. Luggage’s were intact. So an overall good flight

Too squished in seats. I'm 110 lbs and 5'6....can't imagine being any bigger and flying

Original flight canceled and communicated poorly. A series of gate changes , delays and plane changes followed. Even after the entire flight boarded there was another plane changes followed. Food vouchers provided to my travel companion but not to me despite being on the same reservation. No in flight entertainment. The entire experience was terrible although the flight crew were great.

Check in agent was good, stewardess was unfriendly and certainly did not have the care of the passengers in mind Spent the whole time on her phone

Every flight was canceled and they didn’t care much about their passengers

this flight was exceptional due to the plane itself being updated with longer seat belts so no need for the extender and access to a tv.

Comfortable seats with good leg room. But not screens on seat backs.

Air Canada has very professional , friendly and co operative crew.

I liked the fact that we arrived on time. What I did not like, I paid for a seat. Unfortunately a very large women sat beside me (required a belt extension). Her body spilled to my side. Not her fault but I had to lean to the left because her body was literally on my side of the seat. This caused a back ache. I was unable to sit straight the entire flight. There should be some form allowance (wider seat) for morbidly obese passengers. These seats are not designed for extremely obese people. I feel compassionate towards these obese passengers but I got off the plane with a substantial lower back ache. I myself have a degenerative disk disease and this did not help me

Air traffic delay meant boarding started, then plane was evacuated and passengers sent back to the terminal for 1 hour. Very little information shared.

Our AC flight was canceled not once but twice on the same day to Quebec City at Toronto Pearson Airport. 2;30 AC and 9;40PM AC flight. After having our 2:35 flight canceled, we were bumped the second time because of large student groups visiting Quebec City. We were sent to Montreal on an 11:30 flight which landed close to 12:45AM. We were given a hotel room at the Marriot Hotel next to the airport. We had less than 4 hours sleep before we being taken to the airport for our 7AM flight to Quebec City. We didn't have much time to use our vouchers given for breakfast once we had cleared customs for the 2nd time since leaving Toronto Pearson Airport. We missed a full evening in Quebec City and lost our hotel room for the night. We were exhausted the next day and missed an excursion we had planned. My wife and I are both seniors in our seventies, and we weren't happy to be treated in this manner. Air Canada could have used a larger plane to accommodate us and the other ten or so people that were bumped from their flight to Quebec City in order to accommodate student groups. We will endeavor never to fly Air Canada again in future and we will not recommend flying with this airline to our friends and families.

Complimentary food options could be better. There should be a little wait between people boarding with children under 6 and the rest of the boarding. There isn’t enough time to get yourself situated before take off.

I was tired enough to fall asleep soon after takeoff and slept until "we are starting our descent to Toronto" announcement. That's not bad at all.

Very tight seats - no legroom at all, very tight to the person in front of you. If you have basic fare, you are loading zone 6 regardless of where you are sitting in the plane - meaning even as a middle aisle person at the front of the plane, I had to get people to get up and let me in as they had boarded earlier. Having to pay for a carry on is criminal. I am a frequent flyer, and air Canada has now joined the list of other terrible North American Airlines.

Their "free personal" requirement is to have your bag fit in a containment frame that is way too narrow and slender than the space under the actual plane seat (the length of my vitamin water was longer than the width of the containment frame. They had personel at the gate literally designated to hounding people's bags in the zone line up, and forcing them to measure their bag again if he felt "the bag might be too big for personal item". If your bag was too big for their scamming measurement criteria you had to fork up $110 CAD for the carry on cost ($85 at the 24hr online pre-check in). Plane had no entertainment, seats did not recline, and no complimentary snacks or drinks. Unless I have a short flight with zero bags, I won't be flying Flair ever again.

Flight attendant said bye bud. Lol peak flair right there

On time flight. Reasonably comfortable seats. Disliked having to pay for refreshment and snacks.

Not good Even after I made my booking, I was charged $90 for my boarding pass. I have collected boarding pass i pay $90 near . Flair airline not good. Without pay no boarding pass.

Personally, I will not use this fight again. The service is poor, you have to buy even water. They don't provide anything even sneak, you have to buy. They said Personally items for 7 kg. Then they use some measurements, if you have 7kg and if it's not getting inside of their measurements, you have to pay 80$ this is robbery. I will prefer other flight then this. I am désappointement taking this airplane.

It’s a shameful company. It ask as to go to counter to take the boarding pass, they simply send it by email, just to check the bags’ size in a smaller than normal template. DONT USE FLAIR! It will be more expensive than normal airlines at the end.

The flight was safe (priority). Everything else is low-cost: too hard, delays, mediocre boarding, cost for carry-on and checked luggage.

Flair did not notify you when they changed gate number!

There was no entertainment There was no food or beverage service , not even a glass of water The plane door could not be opened upon arrival

I don't like anything. The crew was so bad. Misbehaved badly. The worst flight.
