Small seats means other passengers thoughtlessly take up your space. At least it’s a short flight.
Pros: "The answers were defaulted with a star selection and I could not change it. Our air Canada flight for Vancouver to Maui was just OK. It was an Air Canada Jazz flight. Very uncomfortable seats (and we were in business class). The flight was uneventful and the service was great. I would change my answers above to 1 star for comfort; zero stars for entertainment. The movies were old and it was very hard to hear the shows with the ear buds they provided."
Cons: "See above."
Pros: "The comfort in side the plane and quiet drive"
Cons: "The 5 hours waiting time at the Toronto airport. It really was hard to endure."
Pros: "Everything went well From boarding to exiting the aircraft."
Cons: "JustFly did not release my coupon to Lufthansa or Air Canada, and so I was nearly prevented from flying."
Cons: "Rouge set up of the plane. Bring back air canada please"
Pros: "On time flight. Friendly crew."
Cons: "No food unless you bought it, minimal service."
Pros: "Had an empty middle seat between my window seat and my friend's aisle seat which was nice on such a long flight."
Cons: "This was my first intercontinental flight on Air Canada and I was surprised at how meager their meal and entertainment offerings were. Every other airline I've flown between North America and Asia gives bigger meals and more free entertainment to help pass the considerable flight time."
Pros: "Competent stewards/stewardesses"
Cons: "No meal?"
Pros: "They got us late to Toronto with my little child and I decided to spend the night in TO. My child has fallen asleep and there ha No way we could make the connection no matter how much I rushed."
Cons: "Small aircraft last min bags check in etc. delayed flights Ground staff in Atlanta is good but in Toronto: very rude"
Cons: "we took off 3 hours after our actual take off time due to the cargo door not closing. we sat on the plane and they kept the exit door open causing very cold air in the plane. the door should have been closed to keep the heat in. for the 3 hours we were not given or even asked whether we might want coffee or something to drink or some kind of snack, they gave the business class something tho."
Cons: "I want to seriously complain about Air Canada and Kayak booking systems. I reserved the tickets to Shanghai but there were no place reminding me that I need Canadian VISA to connect flights between two Canadian cities. I am a Chinese citizen who is working at USA and not allowed to change flights in Canada based on the newest government rules. However, in both booking systems, there is no reminders. In my opinion, either Kayak or Air Canada can add a simple checkbox to let the potential guest choose his or her nationality status, then this kind of trouble can be mitigated. We talked and called Air Canada people but no buying. They kept saying this is our responsibility. We bought United Airline tickets at the last minutes and cost us about $2,400 because we cannot wait to get back China to prepare our wedding ceremony and US Visa interview. We are very very disappointed with Air Canada and will keep complaining about this issue. As a service supplier, how cannot you think on behalf of a customer? The air company definitely knows more about government rules than a customer. We did have mistakes of not researching government rules. However, the biggest mistake was we trusted Air Canada and Kayak who we thought had taken care of those kind of issues for us. Thanks."
Pros: "Many airlines have code share flights but it is better to buy ticket directly from the original airline as they keep on ignoring the code share flight bookings"
Cons: "Till last moment we were kept hanging if we will board or not as no seat number was allocated. I believe it was as we were from the code share airline not the real one"
Pros: "This review was for flight there, as we chose another carrier on return. Crew was great, boarding was efficient."
Cons: "The food was not good, especially a meat & cheese wrap as breakfast- I have anosmia and cannot smell & only have about %5 of my taste capabilities intact and even I thought it was inedible. No air vents was uncomfortable. Not much entertainment to speak of. Seats were pretty cramped."
Pros: "Easy flight to Dublin."
Cons: "Boarding could be better organized - staff should make sur only the people in the zones called are in line. Not everyone from all zones. The zones 3-5 line isn't helpful. They should change it to "boarding" and indicate only thsoe called to board should be there. Otherwise, they need separate lines for EACH Zone."
Pros: "Crew was friendly."
Cons: "My wife and I were seated in different rows."
Pros: "Can't keep to their schedule. I was supposed to arrive home at 15:50 pm. Try 1 am. Every time our plane came in they sent it to another city or switched our gate. All if their flights were delayed. Customer service was non existent. We were treated worse than animals."
Cons: "I did not fly to Montreal and I did not catch flight to Barcelona I am fling again tonight Toronto - Barcelona direct"
Pros: "In flight movies were clutch"
Cons: "Food was purchase only."
Cons: "One of the worst overall flight experiences. Flight attendants ignored assistance light, no entertainment ( only option was paying for an ipad), and blankets had to be paid for!!. Flight was so booked that we were late taking off. Poor flight attendants were obviously understaffed. Will avoid this airline when possible"
Pros: "It was a very good flight. A pillow and blanket were provided which was good for comfort and to keep warm because it was very cold on the flight. The hot meals that were included were tasty and the the coffee was good. The bottles of water were a nice touch."
Cons: "Better temperature control"
Pros: "Got an upgraded seat without asking for it due to overbooking."
Cons: "Checking was more complicated than necessary. Was asked to use the machine to check in even though I made it clear I wanted to use the counter and there were only a few people waiting. Didn't get to watch a movie as I wasn't told you need to download the apps before getting on the plane."
Cons: "The check in counter was a mess. Though we had checked in online, it still took forever to check in at the counter as the machines could not print out the bag tags, then there was another line up for dropping off the bags. Those machines also could not read foreign passports though Canadian ones were fine. So we had to wait for our friends who were from overseas. The stewardess doing the announcements went so fast you could not hear her except for a few words, and she had a very strong French accent so it sounded like she was speaking in French all the time. But at least she was better than the pilot, whom we could not hear at all. The only word we heard was "cloudy"."
Cons: "Flight delayed 2 1/2 hours, plane A/C not working. Waited for another plane. They tried to fix the first plane but they just delayed getting another plane."
Cons: "I was very disappointed that the airline served absolutely no food to passengers for such a long flight. Other airlines serve meals and beverages to their passengers on trans-Atlantic flights. I doubt I will fly Air Canada again for such a flight, due to the lack of interest and care provided the passengers."
Pros: "I flew Seattle to Vancouver to Montrail to Nice. Sept 2 2016 on the way home I flew Nice, Frankfort, Calgary to Seattle Sept 12, 2016"
Cons: "Our entertainment system was broken."
Pros: "Friendly airport and flight attendants. Ease of checkin."
Pros: "Crew was fairly friendly and a little hands off. Food was the best I've had flying abroad thus far. Seats were okay. Was in economy so I can't expect too much but I would love if there was a little more room especially for people stuck in middle seats. Seats were fairly comfortable. There was a lot more leg room than I have before which made the 10+hr flight better!"
Cons: "Boarding didn't go well for me as I almost missed my flight due to delays (but that didn't make me feel upset towards Air Canada, just bad circumstances that I had to be honest about). Crew was fairly friendly - a little hands off (which is good) but I wasn't wowed by them. Wasn't a lot of movie options. I realize you can't get a TON but a few more current movies would have been nice."
Cons: "It was cancelled."
Pros: "Once I actually got on the rebooked flight, everything went great."
Cons: "I get it, weather happens, but airlines should have figured out by now how to make any issues that come from that as painless as possible. Air Canada did not have it together. There was little communication and coordination. People had to wait multiple times in ungodly long lines while agents spent way too much time with each customer. There was misinformation and lack of information given by agents and at times no one to help at all. When there's weather it should be all hands on deck until the effected customers get to where they need to be. Otherwise it's an aggravating and nearly intolerable experience. Commercial airlines have been around for 60+ years - figure it out already."
Pros: "Flight attendant's were friendly amid the circumstances."
Cons: "Our first flight was cancelled 15 minutes before scheduled take-off. upon being bumped to another flight two hours later, that flight was delayed two hours after an issue during take-off. We remained on the plane while mechanic/engineering staff rectified the problem. We booked a flight to save time on driving. We would have arrived earlier had we drove. I understand things happen, but the airline eneds to take responsibility and show some good customer service. Aside from the pilot, no apology given, no reimbursement offered. Disappinting. Air Canada is now a last-resort option for a frequent flyer like myself."
Pros: "We arrived nearly on time."
Cons: "They changed our gate three times and boarding was inefficient (it took them almost an hour to load a small plane) and led to a late takeoff. The customs process was ridiculous. Crew did not seem to care. No food was provided on a 6 hour flight that boarded at 6pm. Most people would not have thought that they needed to eat dinner before the flight. You had the option of purchasing snacks. The people in the rear of the plan did not receive the honor of buying snacks (or even getting a cup of water) until 3 or 4 hours into the flight. Uncomfortable seats. Avoid Air Canada until they get their act together or they lower their prices to reflect their new status as a discount airline."
Cons: "No free entertainment, no meals, or snacks"
Pros: "The crew was nice and friendly"
Cons: "The seats are too tight"
Cons: "The movies selection is not good"
Pros: "Billy Bishop airport is awesome!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed and crew didn't accommodate a rebooking despite availability .. Although original flight did board soon after."
Cons: "We sat at the back with no windows and there was no entertainment except for an app available through wifi on our phones."
Pros: "Flight went as scheduled"
Cons: "Boarding pass said no meals so I bought very expensive sandwiches in the airport and then they served meals on the plane"
Pros: "Good seats Treated like I was important"
Cons: "would be helpful to set up cabi lights according to destination's time. Also, no socks provided for this long flight."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "first flight cancelled, second flight delayed so impossible to get the connection. Nobody called me about it, I had to go to ask."
Pros: "Boarding process was fast & efficient."
Cons: "Crew was strangely inflexible about rules that I had not encountered before- being only in ticketed seat until at altitude (the flight was very empty), only specific headphones during takeoff & ascent, no headphones or electronic devices at all during final descent and landing."
Pros: "Super polite crew"
Pros: "the aircraft is beautiful and new. the services were great. there was plenty of movies to chose from."
Cons: "a little tight in my space. It's ok for a short flight, but not in far away flights"
Cons: "I had 21Inch suitcase. but who helped me check in staff , he said my suitcase looks littlebit big charge me seccond luggage fee $35.... my suitcase 21Inch..it is cabin size...even I didnt use extendingzipper, when I see other people suitcase same size with my suit case or more ticker what I got more mad is my new suitcase got scratched, cracked. I paid $35 . I got broken suitcase ..no reson to do that .it is firsttime I used that... also flight is delayed 2 hours both time .this is understand. .. but I stil got mad, don't understand that silly staff. I regret I couldn't complained and choose aircanada. Also he never smile to customers not kind at all seems doesn't wanna work. From that , Whenever take flight to short distance I will use westjet or other one."
